Absolutely terrible customer service. I had called them for 3 days in a row, trying to make an appointment for what it is they do. After speaking to a rep each time, and each person unnecessarily asking me for all my information over and over again, (which they already had on file -- I know this because the second time I called the rep confirmed all the info I gave them to me) no one still ever got back to me. Literally 6 call attempts over 3 days (Mon,Tues,Wed) trying to potentially give them a substantial peice of business, no one ever got back. I first interacted with Foundation Technology in 2017. We had an issue uncovered during our home inspection that not only involved aspects of the foundation but a slider installed beneath our two-car garage, to a walkable crawl space ("basement"). The door was not framed in by the previous owner, who merely wedged it in on the back side of our garage. A project manager initially proposed adding support piers on the inside near the door but the wall wasn't going to be reinforced so we didn't hire. Meanwhile, we had Window World and similar companies out who would not address the slider, either, until it was framed. Then the pandemic hit so we put the job on the back burner. In 2022 we made progress after the owner personally came out to do the walk through. He gave us a good impression and a better solution for the door -- but we had much work to do to get the area prepped. When at last we were ready in 2024, we received the same contract as was originally offered (but with many new "service fees"). It should have been a clue that it took months to make sure it read correctly, but we were reassured given he had plans bring in an engineer. Big mistake. We should have hired the engineer to work directly for us. Next thing we know the steel framing we had been told we would need because nothing else would physically fit in the space had been replaced with cutting into the joists beneath our attached garage to make way for a small 3.5" wood header. On Day One, Foundation Technology workers knocked holes in unrelated areas of drywall and claimed the sill plate was wrong so, FYI, even after repairs we can't use our garage to park our cars! The reason we hired in the first place was to regain use of our garage, which had been flagged during the sale on account of this improperly installed slider and, second, with the intent of hiring Foundation Technology to do an earthquake retrofit, which we qualified for with a CA program last year. Ultimately, we ran out of time to enroll in the State lottery program (Brace + Bolt) because the owner never provided a quote despite inquiring a full year in advance of State approval. He also promised to quote us for the sill plate issue that was never flagged in years worth of efforts to obtain repair quotes until after we were under contract. He failed to give us a quote for that too. When we first questioned in November how our job so radically simplified after numerous site visits, access to our original architectural plans and having been told it would require exterior excavation, grading and steel framing only to end up with standard wood framing, instead of offering a "mutually agreed upon change order", as per his contract terms, the owner had a meltdown and began threatening a lien on us even though we were paid up for deposit, engineering and what had been completed to that point. We were NOT overdue on the payment schedule but nonetheless he prevailed upon my spouse in December -- saying he wouldn't come back and complete the job otherwise. Meanwhile, we kept reiterating that we wanted an "off the shelf" size replacement door. The sizing was not confirmed by Foundation Tech until earlier this year -- a custom size that set us back a huge amount of time and money given it took four months to manufacture and deliver. At this point, we are 95 percent paid up for a project that started in October and still isn't complete. We hope and pray Foundation Technology will have the integrity to address our concerns because we now fully anticipate the work will be flagged in the event we retrofit or sell our home. We spent YEARS trying to line up competent help, stressing that repairs must be to code, and still we can't park in our garage after nearly $40K to repair the prior owner's DIY damage? In December we had a walkthrough with the owner of a civil engineering firm who flagged incorrect aspects of the work. This concurred largely with Foundation Tech's own engineer prior to Thanksgiving. That engineer reviewed photos we supplied and also commented that when he was hired to draw up the plans he was NOT told that the slider sat below an attached garage. He also claimed he was never asked to provide plans for steel, either, even though Foundation Technology's 2022/23 proposals also called for steel framing! He said he would go back and check his load calculations but having concluded it was a "misunderstanding" he urged us to talk to the company owner directly. Instead, Foundation Technology ghosted us over these concerns. (Their sub-contracted engineer emailed once in November to claim his plans will not require any changes and that's it.) So here we are, June 2025, stuck between a rock and a hard place: Continue pleading with the owner to do the right thing upon return to install the door. Get the State Contractor's License board involved knowing we no longer have the funds to hire someone else to fix Foundation Technology's non-code compliant work. Or lawyer up. read more

I hired Foundation Technology as part of the California Earthquake Brace and Bolt (EBB) program that helps homeowners get earthquake retrofits added to their home. Unfortunately, I experienced a multitude of problems with this contractor, who tried to avoid EBB requirements for scheduling, financial disclosures and uploading documents, made errors in those documents once they were uploaded, causing them to be rejected by EBB, and then billed me for undisclosed "service fees" that were not specified in the contract. It seemed like once Foundation Tech got their money (including the undisclosed $200 "service fee"), they just did not care about completing the inspection and paperwork that a homeowner needs in order to get EBB reimbursement, and tried to skirt many EBB program requirements. For example, EBB very clearly requires that homeowners NOT begin work before approvals are in place. But Foundation Tech contacted me not one but two times, trying to get me to start the work before EBB approval. That should have been a red flag. Work was completed in early September, and despite their assurance they would take care of all EBB paperwork, it was not until after multiple calls, emails, and finally a call from EBB's representatives to the contractor telling them they had to comply, did Foundation Tech provide me, in late October, with the required invoice to submit. But it was not until November, after more daily emails, that they finally uploaded all necessary docs to the EBB site. Then EBB rejected the first invoice submitted because it was riddled with arithmetic errors. More problems: - Failed to schedule a final inspection without multiple reminders. After several reminder emails, office manager said oops, it slipped through the cracks. - Once the inspection date finally came, the city inspector said because Foundation Tech failed to send their representative to meet him, it would need to be rescheduled. When notified of this, Foundation Tech sent an email trying to blame the city inspector, saying, "Usually for the final he just peaks (sic) or crawl inside but he probably didn't want to do it." - When I asked for the invoice to submit to EBB, Foundation Tech complained "they never required that before." In fact, this is clearly on the EBB website. - When paperwork still wasn't uploaded by October, they complained in an email that EBB was "forcing us to disclose our finances, which have never been part of the process" and they were trying to obtain a waiver to exempt them from doing so. But when I phoned EBB, reps confirmed that this was actually a very fundamental part of program requirements for contractors. EBB's phone rep seemed incensed to learn about Foundation Tech's behavior, and immediately put me on hold and initiated a conference call with the company, telling them they HAD to provide me with an invoice. Only after this happened did they do so. - Once Foundation Tech FINALLY submitted the invoice, EBB rejected it, because the invoice contained multiple math errors. - The exact same thing happened a second time with their second, "corrected" invoice -- still contained errors. If you are depending on a speedy reimbursement on an EBB grant, do not go with this contractor. I'm giving them one star because the workers who actually performed the job were courteous and professional. The nightmare was all because of of the owners and office staff, who created problems, roadblocks, and essentially spent months resisting the terms of a state program they had willingly agreed to be part of. read more

I have no idea what kind of repair work this company does! I will never use them. They cancelled 2 inspection appointments at the very last minute. When they cancelled the 2nd appointment, I was told that they had forgotten to tell me there would be a $750 inspection fee per building, because these were apartment buildings not single family homes. The original appointment was made about 2 months ago and there had been a number of calls to verify, etc, etc. Terrible customer relations. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They do not stand behind their work. As the homeowner, they will not deal with me after the job was completed since they signed the contract with my contractor. However, before the job was completed, Gigi, the owner's wife, has no problem talking to me and helping me out. I called numerous times and she was too busy to talk to me. I was told she'd call me back but she never did. Her husband can't is far too busy to talk to me. After $40,000 of foundation work, my house is in worse condition than it was before the work. The new cracks are huge. After 12 stabilizing piers were installed, my house is still "settling." They are blaming water damage, but nothing has changed since the work they've done. If there's water damage now, there was water damage previously. They keep telling me that the contract is with the contractor so they can't help me. However, there willing to come out and fix issues for another $35,000. BEWARE!!!! read more

It's been about five days since my last review and the reason I wanted to keep readers informed of this is number one because it is a process and no immediate solution available. It requires thought, lots of experience, research and brainstorming. What this single disabled woman has learned is gigantic. You know when you're just so pleased with a professional firm you're afraid to get excited as something typically goes wrong and they fall from grace so to speak. Well folks, I am amazed each and every day dealing with this wonderful group of professionals. Not only have they comforted me and no one else has since I lost 6 family members in the last year, they have understood when my mind just goes off on its own and gently bring me back to reality. They have been more help than all of the professional firms I have used in totality in my lifetime and I have owned businesses, ran many, and 25 years experience in real estate. This is the type of firm that makes A.I. (artificial intelligence) the complete failure it is and will continue to be when dealing and replacing customer service with automation in lieu of with real people. AI can be great or it can be horrific when you really need to speak with a real person. These people return phone calls, emails, do their job better than ANYONE else in this business and then invite you to dinner so to speak. They seek customers for life. In the business of making friends and building lifelong relationships, not only for getting paid for doing great work. They are so much more than that and I can tell you from experience....THIS ONLY comes from the top. If management doesn't have that mindset, no one in the company does. It trickles down and every single person I have dealt with has the same mission and deals with things appropriately, professionally, while keeping you and your insurance company 100% informed. The greatest news I received from them is that they performed quotes for both of the neighbors who kept this information from me for FOUR MONTHS when this firm told them both it had to be taken care of immediately and one of them even asked about it falling on my property and was why he called them out to begin with (unknown to me). The information they are providing is assisting me with getting my claim taken care of and unfortunately for the neighbors who created then hid such lethal information from me I can now seek criminal charges as well because as citizens and neighbors we can not allow people like that to get away with things as shameful as these. If you are a disabled person who has been taken advantage of by neighbors, caregivers, workers, professionals, KNOW it is a Class A Felony for them to do so and when brought to court and found guilty, pay double the fine and double the time. Typically, I am the type of person who just forgives and forgets but when I think of how many people this has hurt as well as the damage to me, I am blown away at the ability of our fellowman to do this without regard for the KNOWN consequence. Sorry I write soooo much but have a lot to say. Remember when people used to trade skill sets to pay for things they could not afford? When neighbors helped neighbors because they were their neighbor and wanted nothing in return. It felt good to do good as that is the heart of God and one of the 10 commandments. To love thy neighbor as thyself. Foundation Technology obviously gets paid well for doing their job, but Id like to see more of this in our world and they would do well to add an arm to their business which is consulting. Breaking down their processes, tips, techniques, customer service, and bottle it up so to speak teaching others how to be successful as well. Particularly their methodology and mission statement. Folks I wouldn't even call another firm. This firm is your answer. The one you won't be revisiting because of bad workmanship, lack of ethics and integrity. They honor their word and will prove it just by doing business with them. Really, make the call. I am not getting paid for writing this. In fact, I am offering gifts ON TOP of their asking price because I feel in the end I still owe them for being so wonderful to me at the worst moment of my life. I watched this company repair the house across the street from me and saw that they did a great job, so I hired them to fix my house. Nathan, Calen and Anthony showed up on the first day and started the construction. Nathan was the acting foreman of the construction of my house and did an excellent job with communicating with me as the process went on. The work itself took approximately 2 weeks. Permitting took over 6 months in the City of LA. I could not close my front door because of how much my house had moved over the years. After the lift of my house, my door closes easily. I have lots of new cracks inside and outside the house and on my walls after the house lift, but I know my house is now strong and stable. Several cosmetic fixes to the cracks in and outside the house are needed, but ultimately my house is safe and sound. The workers are all very young, but really trained well and professional. The work was pricey, but worth it in the end. Thank you Nathan for all your help, communication and leadership in getting my house fixed! Good luck and keep up the great work. read more

Had two quotes before Jerry came over regarding my home needing piers installed to stabilize my home as I had multiple dry wall cracks on one side of my home. Turns out by Jerry's assessment my home did not need piers but was actually being lifted up by my neighbors pine tree roots. Upon excavation this was found to be true around the footing of the home. We had a deadline to get the fixes done because we had family coming in town and they were really accommodating to our schedule. The Rose Arbor Homeowners Association (Valencia, CA) has just initiated a landscape enhancement program, the first phase of which includes a new monument wall and signage. Foundation Technology's scope of work included: construction of a new CMU stack stone-veneer monument wall flanked by stone-veneer pedestals; construction of an independent, matching CMU stack stone-veneer pedestal (added to the opposite side of the entry for aesthetics); as well as saw-cutting to lower our existing monument wall, recapping it to tie it in with the new construction. As Vice President of the Association, I was responsible for design, procurement, and project management. Foundation Technology was selected for consideration based on their excellent Yelp reviews as well as their high rating on BuildZoom.com. They participated in a formal Request for Quote process that rendered three competitive proposals, ultimately winning the contract based on industry reputation, price, quality, and other criteria. Foundation Technology completed the job in excellent fashion. While their sales and project management staff were a pleasure to work with, here I want to focus on working with the actual person who completed our new monument wall and associated improvements, Placido Gonzalez. He was a pleasure to work with. We communicated well with one another and he held my confidence that the project was being worked on with the highest of quality. I was traveling for eight days and he daily sent me numerous photos of his progress. At one point during my travels, one of his photos revealed a construction deviation I was not satisfied with; to correct it I came up with a solution and he completed the additional work without objection. Upon completion, there were a couple of minor corrections needed and he saw to it they were addressed to my satisfaction the very next morning. His focus was always on providing high quality and on meeting high expectations, seemingly in alignment with Foundation Technology's excellent reputation. At this point, the Association is expected to approve an additional small project and we are already working with Foundation Technology to develop budgetary pricing for projects integral to the second phase of our landscape enhancement program. As a result of limited cut-and-fill geotechnical controls employed in construction back in the 1950s, a small portion of our home had settled up to several inches over the 60 years since it was built. Foundation Technology proposed an alternative to the traditional caisson-grade beam method of repair to lifting the foundation of our home. The galvanized-steel, push-pile technology utilized was a good fit for our particular situation and the results appear to be excellent. I was also favorably impressed with the professionalism demonstrated in all facets of the work. From top management to general laborer, they demonstrated a solid work ethic and I found them to be good people in all respects. My husband and I needed to investigate an "issue" with the slab in the garage at the house we are buying. George was really helpful over the phone and made sure to tell us that he really didn't think we needed to spend the money to have them come and look at it based on the information we gave him. For years i noticed the cracks in several walls on one side of the house but didn't realize that it was related to the foundation. Within the past 2 years the cracks appeared to widen. So my daughter who is in commercial real estate recommended Bristol due to referrals. So we set up a visit to see exactly what was needed. The actual installer, Justin came out and reviewed the cracks and we discussed what needed to be done. It was all so overwhelming to me however he explained the problem very well and what the solution would be. What i loved was that what he quoted at the time of the visit was in line with the actual cost on the contract +/- a few $$$ - No problem. For a project of this nature i got another quote and after comparing the two i chose Bristol. Once we agreed on a date to start, Bristol ordered the supplies needed and showed up on the scheduled date and time. So the project began.... Justin was great, very professional , he knew what he was doing. He was well organized, the project appeared to have been thoroughly planned out. Once Justin and his crew arrived, they immediately went to work. His crew was very professional, friendly and thorough as well. Justin kept me informed throughout the process and he allowed me to film the work as they went along which was very exciting to watch. I really appreciate the fact that all through the process they cleaned up or put back whatever they moved or changed. In addition they replaced the step which was broken in the process of digging up the dirt which I really needed. Once completed I felt that the foundation work was sound and I believe my house is and will be secure. They exceeded my expectations..... My experience with foundation technology was nothing short of amazing. I recently purchased a house in Diamond Bar with known foundation issues, I was quoted a price by two other companies prior to purchasing the property. I chose to get a 3rd opinion from Foundation Technology, Brian came out and assessed the property and was able to give me a competitive quote on the spot. He explained the issues with the house very thoroughly and seemed extremely knowledgeable when it came to foundation issues. Gigi the owner drew up the contract quickly and was available to answer all my questions. She made sure to make sure I was comfortable with all parts of the contract. Anthony handled all the logistics of payment and explained what each payment was for and was extremely professional and courteous.
