Okay!!! Las Palmas has officially been added to our work trip dinner rotation!! No…read morereservation...just a walk party of 6 and they had a table for us...as long as we could be out by a certain time...about an hour and a half after we walked in. We were there to eat so if they were going to wine and dine us in that amount of time, we were there for it!! Everything was delicious, everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks and we are so glad we found this location and made it happen! I was looking forward to dinner here the entire day and it was worth it!! We had the queso blanco...it's got a kick...worth it! My wagyu fajitas were perfectly cooked medium rare and soooo flavorful!! I was my dessert in my pjs back at the hotel...the sopapilla cheesecake and ice cream held up perfectly and was everything I wanted it to be!! It's a dark atmosphere in the bar area, but the vibes were so cool. It wasn't too loud to where people were having to scream to converse...but it was not intimate where you could talk across the table softly with the other person hearing. We are still talking about Las Palmas days later and can't wait until we are back in Dallas to bring more of our group here to enjoy delicious food and great service!!

A few important notes though: this place is SUPER loud, especially upstairs, so if you are trying to take your older parents somewhere for a nice dinner where you can actually catch up and have a conversation, this might not be the spot. Also, avoid the upstairs dining room if anyone has mobility issues. The stairs are a little sketchy in that dark space because you basically have to TRUST there is another stair step in front of you even though you can't see it. And a heads up, do not wander into the wrong bathroom upstairs like my husband did because the "men's" and "ladies" signs upstairs are also nearly impossible to read in the dark! But honestly, those are really my only complaints... The service and food were both very good. We had a couple of ordering fumbles. We got the regular queso, and then immediately watched another table get the tableside flaming queso and we were seriously bummed. Like, really bummed. That is definitely what I will be ordering next time. The chips and smoky salsa were excellent!! - and I always appreciate when everyone gets their own little portion of salsa so everyone can double dip without feeling like a heathen. I ordered the wagyu fajitas (the half portion), and it was still easily enough food for two people. I will say the meat was more like a filet mignon texture and less like the flavorful fajita meat I was expecting. My friend's pork fajitas were actually much better and had more flavor. When the manager stopped by to check on us, I had to announce my own birthday because apparently my friends were not going to help me out with that (some friends, huh?). They brought out a complimentary sopapilla cheesecake with a candle, which was a very nice touch. All in all, I loved the place and totally understand the hype. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time. There is valet parking, but we found easy parking across the street. I cannot wait to come back and try that flaming queso!

I remember the gourmet Eatzi's phenomenon when the chain had a Houston location, which has been closed for almost 20 years. Although I've read Eatzi's may in fact return to Houston, I'll believe it when I see it. What I've always liked about Eatzi's is the high quality and variety of cuisine on offer. For some reason, this time I settled on hummus, but also saw lots of other cool choices, including sushi. Bread is baked in-house and lots of people seem to like the made to order sandwiches and prepared foods. Service here was really good, although I was a bit put off by the long line wrapped around the inside of the store. However, I was able to walk right past it to an easy checkout. Parking here, in my opinion, was easy. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit to this Eatzi's location in Dallas, and also hope Eatzi's returns to Houston one of these days.

My husband and I visited for Father's Day, also celebrating our second daughter who is about to be born. We've been wanting to try Mamani for a while, and i'm so glad we finally did. It exceeded every expectation. From the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable. We were greeted warmly and made to feel genuinely cared for throughout the evening, with attentive, personalized service that never felt overbearing. The space itself is elegant, sophisticated, and upscale. It was a bit louder than expected, but our tucked-away corner made it feel more intimate and comfortable. The food was outstanding. Each course was paced perfectly, allowing the entire experience to unfold without feeling rushed--we genuinely lost track of time, and three hours felt like minutes. The prawns were delightful, and the duck was the standout of the evening--truly the best my husband and I have ever had. The leeks were the only dish that felt just okay in comparison to everything else. Overall, it was an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. Compliments to the chefs and staff. We will absolutely be back.

The front offers a nice show of the busy and efficient kitchen however is a little noisy and waitstaff are bustling about. I prefer the dining room. I absolutely loved everything that I ate. The scallop and caviar is visually a piece of art and it is genius to pair scallops with grapefruit. I also tried the black cod prepared with miso and seaweed beurre blanc. The cod was cooked perfectly and the sauce was rich and velvety. I'm still thinking about it! You cannot go wrong with the Iberico Pork Pluma. The exterior of the pork was seared to perfection and the flavor was savory and tender. Sadly, I'm knocking off a star because of the service. Our server was unfriendly and uninterested and to me this was unacceptable in a Michelin star restaurant.

Victor was building our bowls, and he was phenomenal. These assembly-line restaurants can feel rushed, but he was attentive, easygoing, and actually engaged. I had a lot of questions about the proteins (freshness, differences day to day, what was best that evening) and he took the time to explain everything honestly. He made thoughtful recommendations based on what had just been prepared and dietary needs, without rushing or making it awkward. The bowl itself was well balanced, generous, and incredibly fresh. Everything tasted really good, you can absolutely tell when the ingredients have just been made. At checkout, Sam was unbelievably kind and welcoming. She reminded us pita bread was included, joked with us, and made the whole interaction feel warm and genuine. She even congratulated me on my soon-to-be-born son, which honestly meant more than she probably realized. I had to give her a big hug which she kindly welcomed. That moment alone made my night. Threw in a few drinks on the house. Asked if we lied nearby and said she absolutely wanted us to come back in. Luisa was also wonderful and had me try a mix of the Tangerine Aleppo drink with the classic lemonade, which was delicious! For a late Monday night, this team was top-tier. Fresh food, great energy, and staff who actually care about the people walking through the door. Huge shout-out to Victor, Sam, and Luisa, we'll absolutely be back. They all made my day.
