Came here for a friend birthday and we really enjoyed it!!! their selections are really nice and their broth is very tasty!! service was very attentive. I would say that atmosphere is very clean and cozy inside.

Came here with a friend around 8:10 pm, pretty packed but not too heavily because it is in a big downtown center with plenty of shops and restaurants. PARKING: the situation for parking is alright, there is a big parking garage in the back of the restaurant but you would have to find an alleyway or go around to get to the front. There are many free parking lots and street parking as well, but gets busy. FOOD: We got the split hot pot, and we chose Jasmine as our soup tea base. We chose the Jasmine tomato, and it was delicious. We got the Jasmine & Osmanthus angus beef, both were really good cuts of meat. PLACE: The place is spacey and there is upstairs and downstairs seating. There is a complimentary sauce bar, and with fruit, jelly, peanuts, etc. Downstairs near the entrance there is an ice cream machine which is just vanilla ice cream. Highly recommend as an experience overall!

I was super excited to try the concept of tea hotpot, but was sadly disappointed. We didn't taste any of the tea flavor in the soup or meat. The soup itself was definitely flavorful but didn't have any tea flavor. After abut halfway through the soup also got super salty where it was difficult to eat. I would say the meat quality was tasty but wasent good enough to justify the price. We also tried the 3 different noddles but didn't taste any difference between the 3. Besides the food the service was also super slow and never got checked on.

if you're looking for a well-rounded hot hotspot, then this is the place because they have amazing options for meats, veggies, and sauces! Most importantly for me in determining if a spot is fire would be the soup base - which this place has really good ones. at first, I was pretty skeptical about the tea being infused with my soup but if you are a spicy lover like myself you know the feeling of feeling really bloated or heavy after a meal with the spicy soups. because there's tea in views, I feel like it cuts out some of the fat, and it makes your meal that much more enjoyable. their service is attentive and quick/their ordering workflow is through the qr code which cuts out the time of waiting. The downside I've noticed after coming here a couple times is that sometimes they do run out of stuff (meats/noodles/veggies) but for the more popular options it has been consistently available. 10/10 would recommend this spot for friends/couples/solo dining. I think the place is a bit smaller so sometimes fitting a stroller and or smaller kids might be harder but doable. there's no private parking lot, but there are a lot of public parking lots nearby - thats short distance and street parking as well.

My friend wanted to check out this restaurant for her birthday, and I have been seeing it on social media, so we decided to plan a dinner here. We came at around 6:30-6:45pm on a weekday, and there was no wait. Though there was no wait, it took some time for them to seat us. It seems the restaurant experience is on their second floor. Once seated, we decided on what we wanted to order through the QR code menu. We opted for a spicy and non-spicy tea broth, and it was so interesting how tea is the literal base of the hot pot broth. I could taste the tea, but it was also not super noticeable. They also provided a selection of teas that you can choose for your soup base. I believe we opted for a black tea of some sort. The sauce bar had lots of condiments to choose from and even side dishes such as peanuts and seaweed salad. My friend and I also ordered a mango sago to drink, and it was surprisingly really good! It was super creamy, and the mango was fresh. My friend and I both thought the thai basil beef was really good quality. I would say the service does need to be improved, as we kept flagging our server to check on the status of one of our items. The staff is really nice and friendly, though! Overall, this was a good dining experience; however, tea aesthetic aside, this wasn't too much of a difference compared to other hot pot restaurants.

Unusual hotpot place! If you are tired of the spicy mala tang base hot pot, i'd recommend this place. They have variety of soup base including herbal base which I really enjoyed. They have variety selection of meat seafood veggies and tea as well. I got Tea infused beef Lobster Greentea noodles Potato noodles Herbal soup Cabbage Enoki Cilantro wrapped beef Shitake mushroom Shrimp pouch Cilantro wrapped tofu skin and it was more than enough for two people. Sauce bar has fruit and drinks and snacks too. They offer free icecream as well at the door.

I really wanted to give a 5 stars because this place does hot pot well and unique by infusing tea in the dishes and soup bases, but they are super shady with forcing a $3.50 per person cover charge with no mention in any fine print and no way of waiving it even though we never once got up the seat for the sauce bar, which is typically what the charge is for. Will elaborate at the end of the review as I do want to highlight the food too We got the triple soup base which was $18.95 - pretty good price to get 3 types of soup base - one spicy, 2 non-spicy that we opted to get the chicken soup and herbal soup. For the meats, we got different tea infused meats like tripe, pork belly, and angus beef - some oolong, dahongpao, etc. The flavor is subtle for most but you can taste a bit of extra herb and floral notes in each bite. Ingredients are high quality and well paired. Now let's elaborate their shady business practices. You'd think pricing would be transparent in a non-tourist city like Mountain View where prices are already expensive. Nowhere do they mention a MANDATORY extra charge per person - I get it if you use the sauce bar, you pay a per person usage. I've been to a lot of hotpot places that charge but then waive the fee knowing you didn't use it, or operate the charge on an opt-in basis. Right before all this, the waiter threw a large plate of strawberries from the sauce bar on our table saying to eat it. ??? why are you forcing us this? So I asked if this is extra charge, and the waiter proceeded to say, yes it's extra, and I asked for the charge to be waived as we never touched the sauce bar, so we had to ask about the waiter and escalate to the manager (who can only speak Mandarin so if you don't have a Mandarin speaker, you're out of luck). It's as if the waiter is trying to set us up to not get the charge waived because there is a plate of strawberries from the sauce bar right on our table... The waiter and owner claimed they cannot waive it as they do it to everyone, with no way to remove the charge. In point of sale systems you are able to just remove or adjust charges. They claim something they cannot do that can be easily done. $3.50 per person is not a lot but, look, it's the principle - it is not a good look to just sneakily tuck in a charge thinking people wouldn't pay attention to it. They try to apologize by giving us snacks from the sauce bar and a mini gift bag - nothing will make up for their shady practices. In the end they removed the cover charge for 2 to then add $5 for the tea which was not explicitly mentioned. See? You are able to remove the cover charge after all??

Food is good. Portion is running small. But food is fresh. Self serve bar. Food looks fancy too.

Tea choices for the spicy broth

Came here a couple times, and I do quite like it since the tea-aspect of it is pretty unique. Pricing is competitive with other hot pot places. I've tried different tea for the spicy pot broth, but I would say that my favorite is the jasmine + no additional spicy oil block. It was the first time that I didn't feel too oily after getting hotpot. The jasmine tea brought a unique flavor to the broth. The white tea was too subtle, and I couldn't taste the tea in broth. As for the ingredients, they're pretty good quality. Some items are skippable. Ie: the osmanthus tripe - looks pretty, presentation is great, but the tripe is so small it disappeared in the broth. The service we got first time around (for lunch) wasn't great; however, the service we got the second time (for dinner) was amazing. We ordered a looot ($400 worth of items), and he came back to double check with us to see if we really wanted to order that many item for 7 people. We said yes, but he was right, lol, that was in fact too much food for us. Bright side - I had enough left over for 3 more meals. I guess hotpot was indeed meant for big parties. Our first time here was just 2 people, and we finished everything without feeling too bloated, so we wanted to make sure ordered enough. Sauce bar was skippable imo. It is not free and we do have the option of opting out, which was nice.

I was intrigued by the idea of tea-infused hot pot, so I decided to try Four Seasons, but unfortunately we walked away disappointed. The experience started off awkwardly. When we arrived, a male staff member somewhat greeted us and for some reason hesitated to seat us despite the restaurant being relatively empty. Seemed like he tried to seat us upstairs, but a woman who seemed to be a manager stepped in to seat us. However, neither of them communicated clearly to us that we were supposed to follow her and she walked ahead without a word, so I stood there confused until she finally gestured us toward a table. Communication with our waitress was a struggle due to a language barrier. It would've been really helpful if management offered a printed English guide for how the experience worked. I got the impression that other staff weren't fluent in English either. Ordering through a QR code was convenient. Our waitress briefly showed us a tray of tea canisters and mumbled something about spicy broth. We presumed the tea was to be the base for the spicy broth, which we didn't order, so we declined. After reading other reviews, it seems like this might have been tea to drink alongside the hot pot as well, but we're still not sure. Every other table seemed to have a tea pot except us. Also, the sauce bar was hidden behind a partition between the dining area and kitchen, so it would have been thoughtful if our waitress pointed that out to us. As for the food, we ordered the jasmine tomato broth and herbal broth. Only the tomato broth was advertised as tea-infused, but we couldn't taste any tea flavor at all. We also tried the jasmine beef, which simply had tea leaves and jasmine flowers sprinkled on top. The broths overpowered any subtle tea notes. Overall, the ingredients and broths were fresh and tasty, but the tea theme felt more like a gimmick than a real culinary feature, and the price was steep. We paid nearly $100 before tip for three people for a couple trays of meat, a vegetable platter, and a few other items. It certainly was not a lot of food. With all the good hot pot options around nowadays, I don't think the experience justified the cost. If the tea flavors had been more pronounced, the novelty might have made it worth revisiting. But given the price and lackluster execution of the tea concept, I probably wouldn't return.

I came across a tea-infused hotpot spot on social media and knew I had to try it. Reservation was made online but the staff had us wait over 15 minutes, it seems like he forgot about us until I reminded him again. The interior was nicely decorated with Traditional Chinese elements. Our server came with 5 samples of tea for us to smell so we can choose our soup base. I opted for jasmine though I didn't really think it provided much flavor. Having a warm jasmine tea to sip was nice though! As for the soup, I was a fan of their tomato soup. The spicy soup was nice as well, I opted for the medium level but it felt pretty spicy. Everything came out fairly quickly and the presentation was super extravagant! The meat was the star of the meal, the Osmanthus infused beef was the most tender & flavorful meat I've ever had at a hotpot place. I only wish the veggie platter set has a bit more variety. The sauce bar was very nice as well! Everything was clean and well kept. There were side dish, fruits & Chinese herbal dessert which was a nice touch. Overall, I'm super happy with my experience and would definitely come back!

Really interesting concept that uses tea in the hot pot base! We came for lunch and started by selecting our tea which of course they make a pot of for drinking but then they add the same tea into the soup based you choose as well. We got the half spicy, half original pot - both were flavorful and luckily the spicy broth wasn't too spicy. The tea is definitely noticeable in the clear broth and overall makes the hot pot experience less oily than usual which was appreciated. Ordering is via QR Code and as they're still fairly new, there are some discounted items at 50% so we tried the team leaf sliced as well as chicken and pea meatballs, both of which were great. We also liked the sliced fatty lamb and they have the more traditional cuts like duck feet and tripe if you enjoy those cuts. Overall, it was a pretty solid hot pot spot, I wouldn't say it beats my favorite hot pot places in the Bay but definitely worth a try!

It was a pleasant surprise to try the unique hot pot and tea concept at Four Seasons Tea House Hot Pot on Castro Street in the heart of downtown Mountain View. With the significantly increased prices (around $160 or more for just two people) and super long wait times at Hai Di Lao, I've been looking for a hot pot alternative. There is a wide variety of meat platters for dipping into the broth, which can be a single or split double pot. We chose an herbal chicken and a tomato chili broth. They had all kinds of bones, herbs and goji berries inside the chicken broth, which is a big improvement over a lesser place that just uses powdered broth. We ordered Angus beef with Jasmine and the Angus with Osmanthus. The beef was topped with flowers and tea leaves interestingly placed on the side of the meat. The waiters and waitresses were attentive but communicating with them was a bit challenging at times since not all of them spoke English fluently. There's also a bit tricky QR code menu ordering system for your phone that takes orders and is where you ultimately check out. If you have a large group, your party can join the same tab to place additional orders. But that can be somewhat challenging to coordinate, as it took some time before the group tab popped up on the browser. The beef was fresh and good quality. It's about $15 per platter for the beef, lamb, chicken and pork. They also have fresh and plump abalone, fish, noodles and vegetables. The space downstairs was a bit tight between tables along one side, but there was plenty of space on the other side that was left unoccupied until it got busier. The sauce bar has some yummy sesame balls and neatly prepared sauces, garlic, cilantro, chili oil, peanut sauce and several other ingredients. They also had some fresh watermelon and grapes. Near the front door, there's a soft serve ice cream machine that you can help yourself to. Upstairs they have more tables and private banquet rooms for up to 12-16 people with their own karaoke sets. They apparently host fun events back there! If you are looking for a quality hot pot alternative to Hai Di Lao that costs quite a bit less and is much easier to get a table at, I'd recommend checking out Four Seasons Tea House Hot Pot.

I will say that sometimes their broth is a bit spicier than described, so just keep that in mind! You can always spice it up with the sauce bar if it's not spicy enough for you. The service is usually fairly good. It's self serve while you build your bowl of toppings, most of the service is at the beginning then just refilling water and giving you a to go container. It gets pretty busy, so it can be noisy and a bit of a tight squeeze between tables. The wait isn't too bad though because there's a lot of tables!

My daughter couldn't resist trying everything and her mix dry pot was over two pounds. She took leftovers home. I selected 4 beef rolls, half a tube of soft tofu, two shrimps with the head, two lobster/crab fish balls, two types of mushrooms, baby bok choy, broccoli, and achoy. It came up to 1 pound 4 ounces and I selected the tom yum soup. It was a little salty but delicious and more than enough for one meal. I dipped it in chili sauce for added spice. We walked up to sign in and they asked how many and gave us a table. We filled our bowls and someone was sitting at the assigned table. The cashier had someone move them so we were all good. The place is actually clean considering all the different bowls of raw ingredients to choose from. Tables were white with plastic orange/black bowls, chopsticks, and orange plastic spoons. We came in with a party of six for dinner on a Monday evening when the restaurant was relatively quiet, with only a few other tables occupied. We asked if it would be possible to combine tables so our group could order multiple broths and enjoy the meal together because sharing one pot for a party of 6 gets a little crowded, but the request was denied despite there appearing to be plenty of available space. As the meal progressed, our broth became extremely cloudy and thick from cooking. We politely asked if we could receive a fresh pot of the same broth--not a different broth, just a new pot so we could continue enjoying our meal. Unfortunately, this request was also denied. The broth flavoring was also underwhelming and started to taste the same after our first refill. What made the experience disappointing was the lack of flexibility and willingness to accommodate reasonable requests, especially during a slow service period. Customer service and hospitality are an important part of the dining experience, and we left feeling that our concerns were dismissed rather than addressed.
