Came here with my mom because we were craving hot pot after our recent China trip and I was very impressed. I really loved the spicy soup base (not as spicy as China but still quite delicious). We might have went a little crazy when ordering the food but I loved every single one. Meat was good quality, the tea was very fragrant, and the sauce bar had so many toppings. Service was also very good as well. It definitely is on the more expensive side, but I think it's worth it. I can't comment on parking because I went at an off time; I didn't have an issue parking but the lot is small. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

The ayce promotion (19.99 for lunch, 23.99 for hot pot/skewers lunch, 25.99 dinner) nowhere does it mention hot pot soup is separate

My friends and I decided to try Liuyishou Hot Pot because of an ad we saw on IG for AYCE hot pot + skewers for $23.99 for lunch. However, that could not have been more misleading. We were charged $19.95 for the broth on our final bill. It was originally listed as $7 when we ordered then changed to $15.95 for our party of three. When we questioned it, they said $19.95 was the "actual" price but would honor the $15.95 shown on the ordering tablet. If we hadn't caught it, we would've been overcharged. I find it strange that that an AYCE would charge extra for broth, cause how are we supposed to eat hot pot without the broth?!? And we were automatically charged for the sauce bar. We had to ask the staff to remove it since we didn't touch it. As for the food, the hot pot wasn't bad, with meat quality similar to Chengdu Memory. The only standout items were the shrimp and pork skewers. The beef skewers however were incredibly tough and became almost inedible once they cooled. We ordered 8 lamb skewers in the first round, but when we tried to order more, we were told they had run out--even though the skewers are advertised as "unlimited. To top it off, the ordering tablet was confusing and not user-friendly. Overall, the tough beef, "unlimited" items running out, misleading pricing, and confusing ordering system made for a disappointing experience. I wouldn't come back.

I've eaten at plenty of hot pot restaurants across the Bay Area, but Liuyishou Hot Pot stands out for a reason that's easy to overlook. After spending decades in Silicon Valley's high-tech industry, I've developed a habit of judging restaurants the same way I judge engineering: Consistency. Repeatability. Process control. Great food can happen once. Great execution has to happen every day. Liuyishou feels built around that philosophy. The first thing I appreciate is the setup. Instead of forcing everyone to share a traditional yin-yang pot, each person can order an individual soup base. That's a surprisingly smart design for groups with different tastes. I went with the Signature Beef Tallow Mala Broth and the Mushroom Broth. The mushroom broth is clean, naturally savory, and surprisingly comforting. The beef tallow mala broth is exactly what I look for in authentic Sichuan hot pot. Rich, aromatic, and wonderfully numbing from Sichuan peppercorns without relying on overwhelming heat. It has layers of flavor instead of simply being spicy. Then came the meat platters. Besides the generous presentation, what caught my attention was the knife work. The beef, lamb, and pork were sliced to remarkably consistent thickness. That isn't just about appearance. Uniform slices cook at nearly identical speeds, giving every piece the same texture and tenderness. Good kitchens understand that consistency begins long before the food reaches the table. The beef tripe is another must-order. Properly cleaned, crisp, and completely free of the unpleasant odor that often ruins this dish elsewhere. The bean curd skin was equally impressive, soaking up the broth beautifully without falling apart. And of course, fresh fried youtiao. If you've spent time eating hot pot in China, you already know this is almost mandatory. Freshly fried, crispy outside, airy inside, and perfect after just a few seconds in the broth. The most memorable dish, however, was the Dragon Beard Pork. Before serving it, our server actually brought out the entire fried strip, introduced the dish, then carefully sliced it into bite-sized pieces before serving it with chili powder. That presentation was fun. What impressed me even more was the preparation behind it. Look closely before it's cut. The pork belly has been carefully trimmed into an incredibly uniform strip before frying. The color is even from one end to the other, the crust develops consistently, and every piece looks nearly identical after slicing. That level of uniformity doesn't happen by accident. Someone in the kitchen spent real time preparing it before it ever touched the fryer. That's quality control. Service deserves special recognition. Our server checked on us throughout the meal, regularly refilled both soup bases, made sure we always had enough water, cleared empty plates promptly, and never made us feel rushed. Friendly, attentive service like this makes a big difference and is absolutely worth rewarding. To go with the meal, I ordered Lao Xue Hua (Old Snow Beer) from Shenyang. I'm happy to see more authentic Chinese hot pot restaurants around California carrying it now. It's an old-school Chinese lager with a clean, straightforward profile that's incredibly easy to drink. Pair it with rich beef tallow broth and Sichuan peppercorns, and you'll understand why it has remained popular for generations. People often ask me how I judge restaurants. Honestly, I don't judge them by one spectacular dish. I judge them by the small details most people never notice. Uniform slicing. Even frying. Proper ingredient preparation. Balanced broth. Attentive service. When all of those details are consistent, great food becomes predictable. And that's the highest compliment I can give any restaurant. Liuyishou Hot Pot isn't impressive because it's flashy. It's impressive because the system works. -- Dr. C Silicon Valley High-Tech Executive "Good engineering is invisible. So is a great kitchen."

First time trying this spot. Was very surprised how much i ended up liking it. The spice is spicy and the flavors are indulgent. It's unfortunately not ayce like I normally like, but they serve good quality meats with great soup I love the fact there is chicken feet as a side here as well. Hdl has stopped offering this which makes LiuYiShou a step up now. I will say that the table space was not great for me. I sat behind the swiviling shelf and it just didn't provide me any room to cook or eat... they tried to accommodate a party of 6 on a table for 4 which was nice but didn't work out for me unfortunately I would for sure come back a 2nd time to see if I can cook and eat freely next time for a better rating, just because the food was great. If they started a ayce option, I'd be omw right now.

Loved the vibes here! The meat ring presentation is a 10/10 and the shared pot for two is massive. Service was super fast and the staff was very sweet. They have a DIY sauce bar with recipe posters, though we had a little trouble matching the sauces to the names on the signs. Pro-tip: The lot is small and located on a very busy road, so give yourself a second to navigate the parking situation. Aside from that, it was a great experience!

Have been meaning to checkout this place for some time now and glad I went over last weekend. Place was not too busy so we got seated immediately on Saturday afternoon. Decor is clean and pretty with gold accents -- reminded me of Haidilao. You order with the tablet at your table, sauce bar on one end of the restaurant automatically added @ $7/pp. We had a light lunch for two. Split hotpot with the spicy broth and the house pork broth. Cute cow mascot in chili-fat form slowly melting as the broths warmed like Darth Vader's mask. The famous meat ring was sold out that day, but we got the beef and lamb orders which I believe is the same thing sans-ring. Meat quality was excellent -- tender, balanced, tasty. Both broths were great. Sauce bar ingredients all fresh. Tip: green pepper sauce. That's the tip. The menu is pretty lean. Not too much core hot pot sides and items to choose from. Could be disappointing if you're coming in hungry, not bad if you're just wanting to nibble. Better value than Haidilao, but Mikiya's the current king in town. 4/5

House Special Soup + Mixed Mushroom Soup, Sliced Marbled Beef, Oyster Mushroom, Veggie Platter

A one and done spot here for me! We swung by on a cold winter Friday evening and boy was it busy! There's an in-person waitlist, and they send you a text when your table is ready. But they don't give you a time estimate so you're kind of left in the dark trying to figure out the best way to kill the time. We had to wait 50 minutes for a table for two! We got Liu's House Special Soup Base and the Mixed Mushroom Soup Base. Flavors for both are umami and tasty, although Liu seriously be trying to up your cholesterol levels with all that BEEF oil he be putting in that broth! There's two huge chunks of solidified beef fat that goes in, and whatever your broth touches is left with chunks and bits of that solidified cow grease once it cools down. All that be going into your arteries! We also got the Sliced Marbled Beef and Vegetable Platter. The beef is tender and soft, and I like the unique assortment of veggies you get like lettuce, woodear, potato, and lotus root. Also note that Liu's House Special Soup Base got a smell that'll stick to your clothes -- after our meal our clothes and car smelled like hotpot for days! You can literally even smell it emanating from the restaurant a block away. Parking is also super hard -- there's only twenty spots or so for all their customers. We had to park street side in the nearby neighborhood and walk a block over. Overall, what a pricey and greasy meal! It was nice to try, but I probably wouldn't come back here again when there's much more affordable and healthier options out there.

Liuyishou is my staple when craving for hotpot, fresh ingredients authentic flavors. My favorite is coconut chicken and Sichuan spicy soup base. Go with the sauce recommendations offered for different selections, and cook time is hepful as well.

Our go to hotpot spot in Cupertino! We ordered tomato soup, mushroom soup, and spicy beef broth with a variety of veggies and meats. Everything came out looking good and the family enjoyed the well ventilated space.

Great food for a good price. Broth was super tasty and the portions were generous. Service was quick and turned over our order fast.

5 of us ordered: double flavor hot pot spicy $9.95 house special $6.95 house special pork bone soup $12.95 sauce buffet $17.50 ($3.50 ea) snakedhead fillet $10.95 angus marbled beef $22.95 sliced marbled beef $17.95 sliced spring lamb $12.95 beef tongue $25.90 ($12.95 ea) beef tripe $8.95 selected balls platter $14.95 fish roe with shrimp paste $51.80 ($12.95 ea) sole fillet $9.95 tofu bean curd $5.95 crown daisy $6.95 sweet potato noodles $13.90 ($6.95 ea) enoki mushroom $6.95 fresh oyster mushroom $5.95 chinese cabbage $4.95 ea sliced prime beef $29.90 ($14.95 ea) After tip, it came to about $77 a head. Definitely on the pricier side. Service is a bit non-existent. Sauce bar could be a lot better. Also didn't realize they did a $3.50 charge per person for it. Overall, food quality was fine. For the price point, don't think it was worth it. Parking here is absolutely atrocious. If you do come, park near 85 plaza and walk over.

the combo of lamb and meat - only $21 or so on the meat so cheapppppp

The inside isn't extremely huge, but there are tables - though there are times when the tables are put out. But if you go up Aborn a bit, there's Evergreen Square where you can sit and enjoy the sun! My family and I usually get the salt & pepper pork or wings, depending on what we're feeling. 20/10 would recommend. * Honey Walnut Shrimp/ Chicken: Another all time favorite dish here - they somehow get the shrimp/ chicken crispy despite it being in the sauce. We walked in right at opening to a completely empty dining room. Instead of leaving, we browsed the menu and ordered XLB, pot stickers, jelly fish, and pea sprouts (my personal fav) so glad we didn't leave! The XLB are a nice size, with each precious dumpling cradled in its own foil wrapper for maximum soup retention. The potstickers were full of flavor, packed with protein, delicately wrapped, and had the crispiest, golden bottoms! Jelly fish was fresh and the pea sprouts were a hit! The poor owner answering the phones made sure (in all languages) to inform folks calling in that there were a different May Flower than the other place-felt terrible for her but also understood the importance of differentiating right up front. I can only imagine the number of misorders they have probably dealt with. By the time we were done, the dining room was filled with a mix of what seemed like regulars, locals, large groups of families, small groups of friends... this feels like we stumbled upon a tiny hole in the wall restaurant where everyone who has been before just knows the quality and taste they are going to be getting!
