We met friends here on a Friday evening. Reservations were a must a few days ahead of time in order to get a table on the weekend. We were seated in a corner booth, out of the way from the hustle and bustle of the restaurant. We started off with bruschetta and balsamic brussel sprouts. I did not try the bruschetta but ate a good amount of the sprouts- they were really salty and almost too crispy (if there is such a thing?). There were bits of fries throughout them telling us that they go in the same fryer as the fries. The portion was huge and plenty for the 4 of us to split as a starter, however, I am not sure I would get them again. For my entree I ordered the Chicken Risotto. It had carrots, onions, celery and chicken throughout it. This dish exceeded my expectations - it was delicious!! The rice and chicken were so tender and the dish itself was more flavorful than I anticipated. Again, the portion was huge and I ended up taking half of it home for another meal. Our waitress was very good, refilling and taking drink orders and returning on a regular basis to check up on us. She was very personable and helpful when it came to making decisions in regards to our meals. The prices were a little higher than what we normally spend when we go out to eat but they were not unreasonable by any means. Overall, this place would be worth trying again. The building may be unassuming but the ambiance inside is really modern and chic. The menu has many things that are creative and delicious while also having familiar comfort items. The servers are very efficient and communicative. The kitchen was super busy and our server explained that and it made all the difference in the world just knowing that. Friend and I came for dinner at 8 on Saturday Wonderful waitress answered questions, very attentive. We shared the Brussels sprouts which were great. I had the chicken risotto which had a maple element which really enhanced all the flavors. Friend had the specialty burger that night. We shared the berry pound cake dessert. My wife and I and some friends of ours met up here for dinner one evening. We arrived shortly after 530 on a Friday and luckily beat the rush that showed up shortly after. For appetizers we split the Brussels sprouts and bruschetta. The sprouts were nicely textured and crispy but a tad bit on the salty side. The bruschetta was really tasty and the tomatoes tasted very fresh. For dinner I had a Japanese noodle bowl with some veggies and chicken in a soy glaze. The soy was nice and light, chicken nicely grilled and cut, and the dish overall tasty and a solid portion with leftovers for lunch. Overall a good experience with some fresh food. We hosted our rehearsal dinner in the Speakeasy of the Four Twelve Project and it was an amazing, personalized experience!! The owners are lovely people and were so accommodating of our needs. The speakeasy space is great for a casual rehearsal dinner and the room fee you pay for includes your own personal bartender and personal chef - so nice! The buffet food we selected was tasty and warm. And the bar service was equally great. We cannot wait to go back and dine in the main dining room in 2024! read more

Now this place was the first 5-star experience I've had while visiting the Pittsburgh area for business and it's a sleeper of a place, off the main avenue of businesses and nowhere near shopping/dining/entertainment areas. I sat at the bar, as I wanted to grab a drink. They don't have a happy hour, but have a very nice menu loaded with great eats and all the typical drink categories. The first drink I got, the Cradle of Love tasted rather odd... Perhaps it was their chardonnay? But as I drank it, it sort of grew on me and didn't taste so bad, but still wasn't something I'd order again. I ended up going for an Old Fashioned for the next round. But in between I tried their Candied Bacon and whoa... This was a game changer in bacon appetizers! The plating was beautiful, but the abundance of very thick cut bacon and smoking flavors alone were awesome! Toss in those spices they used and the BBQ sauce on top and it really was incredible! I looked at all the food coming out to folks around me and it all looked amazing! Service here was great too, from the hostesses to the bartender, they were all friendly and helpful. The venue is quaint and nicely decorated in a wine/tap-room motif. I really like how the re-purposed the barrel rings into pendant lights and hung them over the bar! Great local restaurants aren't easy to come by in Moon, but this place is truly wonderful. It sticks out amongst the other buildings because of its porch lights- a very attractive setup. The food here is terrific, and you can feel good about eating it, too, because it's locally sourced. The waitress told me that the Shrimp and Scallop Risotto was a popular choice, so I ordered it and it was delicious!!! Might as well have been eating at a seafood restaurant! In addition, my dad and I ordered the Fried Brussel Sprouts which were excellent. Overall this place feels fresh and young, and I hope it continues to grow over the coming years! Update: I've been here a few times since I wrote this review and am slightly disappointed at how often they run out of certain dishes. Their risotto is my favorite, but they've been out of all seafood every time I've returned... Came here for the first time for dinner. Hubby and I ordered the fingerling potatoes for an appetizer, the duck breast, the meatloaf, the caramel apple sangria and the Johnny Chapman. Our meal was comped cuz of bad service, so the total for our drinks (including tip) was around $25. What's hot - Quality. Our food was good. The potatoes were nicely flavored and not too salty. A nice drizzle of bbq sauce, but not too much and not overpowering, melted cheese, with some chopped fresh herbs. The bacon on the potatoes appetizer was too crispy, though. Hubby said it tasted like it was twice cooked- once before putting it on the potatoes and the second time in the oven, when they heated it up with the cheese. - Drinks. They have a pretty extensive selection of drinks- from beer to cocktails to wine. My sangria was sweet and yummy. You couldn't really taste the wine, which I liked. I'm not a fan of bitter and overpowering drinks. Not too boozy, unlike the Johnny Chapman. The whiskey in the Chapman was very strong and somewhat overpowering. It was still sweet and yummy. But if that's your thing.... - Price. Everything is reasonably priced. The duck breast is $24, but most other dishes are less than $20. - Menu. Pretty straight forward and simple. They have veggies, seafood, and meats, so a good variety. Be aware they have happy hour specials, even on the weekends, which is awesome. They also have daily menu specials, which the wait staff should tell you. They'll normally have steaks, pork chops, and whatever. - Portions. Good size portions and enough for one to make you full. The potatoes appetizer was definitely enough for two, as well as the meatloaf main dish. My plate of the duck breast was a smaller portion, but still enough for one, especially because it came with fried rice and zucchini. - Location. It's nice having a good restaurant in Moon, which is close to where we live. It's convenient and helpful. - Layout. It's a small mom n pop restaurant, but it's a decent size layout. It's got a bar and some booths, which is nice. What's not - Service. Our waitress is the owner's sister, who seated us. After she seated us, we waited for over 15 minutes and no one from the wait staff even brought us water. I had to flag someone down just to get water. When the waitress noticed that we weren't getting any service, she came over to take our order, apologized, and said she would look into getting our meal comped. We definitely appreciated that, especially because their service really was bad. For example, after we received our check and put the credit card out, none of the staff took it, despite the fact that several wait staff walked by us. Not sure what's going on, but they definitely have to do better. Except for our waitress, who is the owner's sister, no one ever came by to check in on us. I also saw one table with bread but we didn't get bread. Were we supposed to get bread? It's so difficult to get someone's attention. It just looks like their staff don't pay attention. - Quality. My duck breast wasn't fully cooked through, which I think was a mistake on their part. I still ate it, because the meat was tender and I'm not a fan of tough meat. I don't mind meat that's medium rare, so I was ok with it. But that's just me. Hubby's meatloaf wasn't very well seasoned on its own. Most of the flavor came from the sautéed onions and bbq sauce on the meatloaf. The fried rice that came with my duck breast was a joke. It was pretty much rice stir fried with soy sauce and eggs. It would have been better if the side was risotto or another veggie. No need to try too hard. Final answer We're willing to come back to give it another try, because it's a new restaurant (less than 1yr old) and the food, drinks, and menu are not bad. Came to this cute place for an after-work happy hour and had the loveliest time! I tried the spiked wine slushy, which was delicious with the cinnamon whiskey, and was not too sweet (which I appreciated as someone who prefers a drier wine). I heard afterwards that they make their own wine in-house, which is amazing to keep in mind! I want to try their other flavors and wine options. They also have a large selection of beer on draft; I'm not a beer drinker, but it seemed to be an excellent set of choices for those who prefer beer to wine! For food, we sampled a lot of apps, including the cheese plate (so delicious), loaded fingerling potatoes, brussels sprouts, crab cakes, and candied bacon. All were excellent! Their menu for dinner looked amazing, with lots of different options, but we stuck to apps for this particular visit. I saw plates being served at nearby tables that were huge and generous and delicious-smelling. Our server was so kind and patient with our large group throughout the evening, and we didn't feel rushed to finish our food or vacate the tables. The rice had some nice flavor and add-ins. Why 4.5 stars instead of 5? The food was on the SALTY side although not overly so. Price - 3 stars. Wild salmon is more expensive than the farmed variety but I won't say that what they charge is a good value. Pet peeve: why do some restaurants like this one base the suggested tip on the after-tax total? Service - 2 stars. (Full dining hall on a Saturday evening) After we gave our food order and waited for 25 minutes, our server suddenly placed a wooden tray of sliced bread on our table. Huh?! Then our entrees arrived 30 seconds later! Whaaat? They must have run out of bread and sourced this one from the Giant Eagle nearby. But the bread's nothing to get excited about, folks, and don't look around for an olive oil dip. We've been in restaurants where we also waited long but the servers there stopped by our table to apologize or let us know what was going on or gave us a discount in the bill. After our meal and got our check, my husband got impatient after waiting for the server for at least 10 minutes to get his credit card so he walked over to the cashier himself. read more

Their alcohol selection is great, flights are available for both beers and wine, there are plenty of interesting cocktails too. Staff was friendly and service was great. We started with he fried shrimp which was fantastic. I had the filet with the "FTP Plated" option, that included fingerling potatoes, veggies and the candied bacon. The steak, potatoes and veggies were very good. I wasn't crazy about the candied bacon, don't expect thin crispy bacon when getting this, it's more thick and soft. Prices are very reasonable. Never even knew this place was here. Drive right past all the time. Went last night with a friend who recommended it. Inside was nice and cozy. Service was good. The fingerling potato shareable was really good. The BBQ sauce had a nice kick and the bacon was also really good. This was basically an elevated loaded fry/tot plate. The chicken skewer was great and had the same sauce and the beef skewer was amazing. I was not super hungry but will return to try a main course. The beer selection was also good and all local. I had the FTPBR which was really nice and went well with the dishes. Wanted to try the Peach Cream Ale but they were out. Really nice place. Will return again. I'm giving this place three stars primarily on the service. They were sweet and attentive; the only thing about the service is they didn't fill our waters which isn't a big deal but still. It was good; the purple rain was pretty when it came out. As for dinner, I had paella and added chicken, and my friend had chorizo Mac and cheese. It was a good, couple of things though, the paella by itself was a little too salty, but the chicken (since there wasn't anything on it) balanced it out decently. For dessert, I ordered the PB&J cake; it was good cake was a tad dry, but the PB&J was good wish there was a little more jelly to balance it out.
