I went to fox and jane for the second time for a curly cut and highlights. This was my second time working with senior stylist Kristin, and will be my last. I paid $530 dollars for this result. As you can see in the pictures attached, the result was harsh uneven lines, no blending, uneven tone, and irregular chunky cutting for the layers. At the end of the appointment I pointed out that it looked several months grown out, and that I didn't like that. Kristin scheduled a 2 hour long appointment to fix it a week later. Given the severity of the issue I did not feel comfortable returning, and it took 5 hours at another salon to correct it. As I'm not confrontational my mother reached out on my behalf to the salon directly. Kristin proceeded to get her number and text my mother directly denying that this was their work, and made the false claim that I did not leave the salon looking like this. The combination of poor service and denial of the result is unacceptable and incredibly unprofessional. Based on my horrible experience I would not recommend working with this stylist. The salon did offer a refund. read more

My highlights were sloppy haircut too short, i came home and my hair looked choppy and green. Also at checkout it came out to 600, i had to visit a local salon to have it fixed. First of all the #1most important thing to me in a salon is that they give a shit about my gender and pronouns. I also need a stylist that doesn't assume that because I'm female presenting I want a femme haircut. That's the type of conversation I expect to have with my stylist, and those are the ones that I have with Kristin. It's a bonus that they talk about architecture of hair, pulling out weight, they literally tell you every step of the way exactly what they're doing. Literally, my only criticism of the space is that I wish that the chairs were more fat friendly, but as an accessible salon owner myself, I have literally never seen a fat friendly cutting chair so this is more of a criticism for the entire industry of cutting chair makers. Also, to the Yelpers...it's pretty messed up to missgender your stylist, no matter how you feel about your hair. It's not just the clients that should feel safe in a salon. The technicians are people too. The amount of heteronormative-long-haired-blah-blah I'm seeing in. some of these reviews is so disappointing. read more

Unfortunately thus was the worst haircut I ever got. I got it done by Kristen who was the most expensive of their stylists. It wasn't styled well, was still frizzy and not blow dried nicely. I asked for big loose curls, she did them with a flat Iron and they fell immediately (see photo of right after I left the salon). The way it was cut left this weird layer that didn't blend and made it super difficult to style. I ended up driving 2 hours to where I moved from to have someone I trusted fix it. read more

She totally understood what I was asking for. I came back today for a cut and color and again, she nailed it. My bangs are perfect and my hair looks so good. Avoid this salon at all costs! I was so excited to get a curl specialist haircut with Kristin, because I've never gotten a cut from a stylist who specializes in curls before, and they seemed to have a ton of experience. The experience itself was fine, but I asked them to take before and after pictures of me, and I didn't look at the after until I left the salon, but it looked TERRIBLE. I had asked them to blow dry my hair straight, and it definitely was not. Also the layers are uneven, choppy, and there's a randomly long piece of hair in the back, even though I wanted the ends to be completely even. I tried reaching out to Kristin on Instagram and texted the salon after they messaged me asking about the service, but have gotten no responses. I am so disappointed - spent over $150 on this and will now have to go to another salon to get it fixed. read more

Ginos the best! He transformed me from dark brown with grown out highlights and red tint to a beautiful natural blonde that will grow out naturally. He was very intentional with listening to my wants and communicating the process and steps that would need to be taken to get me there. Overdue review. My stylist was Shay, and she did a wonderful job. I was mainly there to get my bangs cut. I appreciate a stylist who tells me the truth about what I'll have to do to achieve the look I want. I'm a lazy gal, so I knew what I was getting into having bangs when the weather gets warmer I do try to style it whenever I go out, otherwise I slip on a headband. I love them! As for the rest of my hair, I got a few inches cut off and it looks great too. It's chillin on my shoulder there (uncombed), but I've gotten a few compliments on the shorter length. Going into my appointment I had high hopes for this salon, I had heard great things and it was walking distance from my apartment so I wanted to try it out and was highly optimistic. My stylist seemed rushed and wasn't very friendly (wasn't very welcoming/warm given this was my first time in the salon).
