There really is no better place for affordable used tires. The only trouble is, it's on a first come, first serve basis. So you can call to check that they have what you want but there are no guarantees when you get there and no appointments (at least in the tire department). I got all four tires replaced within my budget. Everyone there is friendly and helpful. I did have quite a wait as it was busy, but those guys were bustin' their backs to keep the work moving. I normally don't leave reviews but complains haha. But this place is just amazing. I needed my aftermarket to be installed . I drove around UB north campus all the tires/auto shop, most of them offer me $100+ to get 4 wheels mount and balance. This shop didn't give any hard time or say some stupid thing like I need this and that. 70 buck done. While removing my old tires, the mechanic dude told be I got a tire that in a extreme bad shape, not that he just told me, they show me the tire and show me where and proof it to me. Other shop might lie things like that but I love how they actually welcome you to watch them work and just SHOW you what's wrong or what's bad, not just saying. The dealership went their way and look for a used tire for me ( cause I'm a college student..a broke one. Don't judge haha) which charged me $30 buck. So the conclusion is $100 buck total, got everything I needed and no bullshit. I highly highly highly recommend you all to go to them. Go people! read more

To All Canadians: Do yourself and little favour and research tire options in Buffalo and Niag Falls NY. You will save lots of $$ compared to what we are being ripped off for in Canada. The same tires for my car (supplied, installed, balanced and with an alignment)were over $1000 in Toronto (i got two quotes), but only about $620 at Mr Fox Tire in Buffalo. So on my next trip to the U S I went there (after pre-ordering the tires to ensure they were in stock) and had a great experience. Quick and friendly service, tires done right and big $ savings for us Canadians who pay way too much otherwise for too many items. Fox's prices were even slightly better than Dunn Tire, a major tire store in Western NY state, but Dunn also was significantly cheaper than Canada (Dunn came in at about $660) The only suggestion I would make is Fox should invest more in sprucing up their location ... it looks a bit drab and dirty, compared to Dunn. But this probably keeps the prices down, so no complaints about that. Important to note that Fox does a bustling business also in used tires... in fact most of their business is used tires, so if you're looking for a bargain for an older car, this is the place to go. I would definitely recommend Fox to my Canadian friends. Open on Saturdays until about 3 pm but you must make an appointment and I recommend showing up early. read more

Above and beyond any expectations! I was researching a good place to get summer tires in Buffalo and this place came up with excellent reviews across the board. I quickly emailed them to get a quote and received a very prompt reply from Larry with quotes for both used and new tires. I live in Canada so the price was amazing - about half what I would have paid here for tires of lesser quality. They also do 10% discount for Canadian residents and this makes up for taxes you may have to pay at customs. I replied and picked the new tires and since they were the last 4 in stock Larry put them aside for me to pick up on the weekend. I was amazed at how I was able to set this all up over email without any appointment or charge and no long distance call required but little did I know this would not be the last pleasant surprise in dealing with the staff at Mr. Fox Tire! I made my way down from Toronto on the following Saturday and met Larry and Jim who greeted me at the service desk. First I must mention I am a girl traveling alone from Toronto through a strange city and a fairly sketch neighborhood, but as soon as I stepped into the place and talked to the staff at Mr Fox Tire I felt comfortable and safe. They quickly pulled up the order Larry had already entered in the computer and I was all set. I did not think to ask for an alignment appointment beforehand so when I asked they said it would be a bit of a wait as there are 4 cars in line for alignment. I didn't mind as I wanted to do some shopping at the Walden Galleria mall so I asked if I should take a cab there or if there is any better option. Without a flinch Jim offered me one of the company cars to drive down to the mall!! I as in utter shock as this did not seem like a regular service they offer to customers. After returning from a fun shopping trip Jim let me know they tried calling me (my phone did not work with roaming) to let me know my car was not starting. I had experienced an issue with my MINI not starting before and was a very costly repair so I immediately freaked out. Jim and 3 other guys who work there came out with me to take a look at the car. The symptoms were strange as if the car wasn't even trying to start (for those who don't know MINI has a very advanced computer system like BMW and once it detects something is wrong it simply does not let you start the car). I wanted to give up and call a towing company to tow it to MINI in Buffalo region or all the way back to Toronto. I knew this would cost an arm and a leg so I felt stuck and hopeless. Jim and the other guys did not give up. They brought a computer in to try and debug the problem and after 30 min or so they discovered that the car computer was not detecting the clutch press. They found the sensor connector that had come out, plugged it back in and my car started!!!! I did not know how to thank them for going above and beyond to help me so I tried to pay for their time but they refused to take any payment whatsoever!! I cannot believe there are still people out there as generous and honest as these guys. I have never experienced such good customer service; actually this is beyond any customer service I have ever experienced from start to finish it felt like I was dealing with a caring family not employees of a business. They truly run this as a family business but have the selection and prices of a large chain. I am so thankful they turned what could have been a nightmare into a very good memory and pleasant experience. Amazing prices, amazing knowledgeable staff and caring people!! I will never go anywhere else for tire service even if it means doing the 4 hour trip there and back. It's worth it for my pocket and for the amazing customer service. I should also mention while I was waiting for my alignment people were flying in and out of the place so I can attest to the speedy service all the other reviewers mentioned. I am so excited to have found this place and as you can see I can go on and on about the great service. I have already told my friends and family about my experience and will recommend Fox tire to everyone I know. I will also go back this year to get winter tires when that times comes. After I learned my 2013 car didn't come with a spare ... the hard way ... I sought an economical way to have a full-size spare. These guys had a steel wheel in stock, put it on the car to make certain it was a proper fit, mounted one of my snow tires on it, spin balanced it and had me out the door in little over a half hour. I went in to buy 4 new tires for my 2004 Prius, and after the salesman Eric offered to look at my car to make sure everything was exactly what I needed. Seeing I had just left Dunn tire where they told me I 100 percent needed 4 tires at a cost of 686 dollars. I was pleasantly surprised to learn I only needed 2 tires, he then recommended good used tires and with the tax and balancing were only 120 dollars!!! I was in and out in less than 45 minutes! I'm not honing to lie, I could think of 1,000+ things I would rather spend money on than tires. That said, I price shopped so I didn't have to spend a dollar more than I needed to. I mean I drive a Prius, it's not Iike I was buying big fun tires for a jeep or anything. Anyways, I found Fox to be the most reasonable in town. The guy on the phone quoted us a price and a time... And they were both spot on! The pace was busy, I was a "walk-in", and still the time was fast and efficient. I was greeted immediately upon walking in and was taken care of within minutes by a super friendly helpful guy. I waited for 10min at best for my turn to get the car in the garage and, I kid you not, it was no more than 20min. Before they were done. Whoa. Also, no BS. None of the, "you really should replace this and this and this", like I've heard at so many other places. That makes me happy because there's nothing worse than feeling like you're being taken advantage of when you're dealing with car crap just because you're a woman. The man at the counter DID tell me to re-tighten my nuts (haha) after about 25 miles. Perfect, helpful, not BS. Fast service, but show up on a busy day and you will end up waiting a long time due to the sheer volume of people. We asked for the most affordable tires to be put on and they didn't try and sell us anything besides the lowest price that fit our needs. I came in for two used tires, which were decently priced, but that is the only good thing that happened here. It took THREE HOURS to get to my car because they were taking everyone and their brother before my car. My brother was there with me and not until he got up to finally say something to them did they finally get their butts moving. They claimed they called us, but we were sitting right there the entire time. They called one man with the same make car as us, but they took him, not us. All I needed done was my two front tires rotated to the back and the new (to me) tires put on the front. Even then, we watched from the waiting room with the car left unattended AFTER all the wheels were in place. Then, to make matters worse, on the drive home my brother and I hear horrible clunking coming from the left driver's side wheel and had to pull over a few times to determine the shop never tightened the lug nuts on that wheel, which as loose and ready to pop right off and the center cap is missing from having flown off once we drove away. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT SHODDY SERVICE. read more
