Our oldest went with a single chai and declared it the best gelato they've had. The shop itself is beautifully decorated, and there's a generous selection of flavors to try (which Jim gladly walked us through). The staff were very friendly and helpful and though it was close to closing time, they gave us time to browse their selection of drinks and sweets, engaging us in pleasant conversation. That was what was truly outstanding about our visit, it was the staff here that made it positively memorable. Savannah's Candy Kitchen has a wide selection of retro and modern candy, homemade chocolates, and popcorn. The drinks are fun and many, very unique. I lean slightly toward the chocolate version as I like the flavor better and I get less of a sugar rush as I do from the traditional. But both are fantastic! One more option to consider ... the Gopher (which is their version of a turtle, but heavy on the caramel). The store is neatly organized although I believe there's over a million pieces of delightful candies here :) We ordered a few candies from the barrel and a pound of original pecan Praline. I'm not sure if it was a special or not but when you order a pound you get half a pound free. I had enough to share with my family now :) The lady behind the register was really nice to my granddaughter and myself. My pecan pralines went over nicely they were so fresh and decadent we all enjoyed them. This is such a sweet adventure to take with kids when in this area and let them pick out their favorite candies.
