We thought because the place was packed it would be decent food. We were wrong. Got their famous wings. I ate one and couldn't get past the salt level. If there was any flavor there you wouldn't know it. SO SALTY. The pizza was just as bad---maybe the worst pizza I have ever had. It was over cooked and was so salty I couldn't believe it. Typical bar and grill atmosphere and food. They have a nice patio when the weather is nice. I had the french dip and fries and it was good. Very popular restaurant . Went on a Friday night and had about a 10 minute wait to be seated. There's a lot of seating available, booths and tables. Casual atmosphere but nice family atmosphere. The menu had typical burgers, wings and pub-like offerings, but also some nice entrees. I ordered a grilled tuna steak with sweet potato fries and it also came with a huge side salad. So good!!! The best restaurant food! I never had one bad thing here and I have almost tried it all!

We visit this restaurant often because my husband will get a craving for the steak sandwich. We visited in on a Friday night around 6 pm and our wait to get a table was minimal. Service is always friendly and food is fantastic. I decided to go with something I hadn't tried, the veggie wrap (hold the cheese and dressing in the side and upgraded to waffle fries for $1. Very good wrap and the portion of fries they serve is over the top. Hubby got his favorite steak sandwich with baked potato . We split the big beer, usually Mango Cart. I had a taste of a friend's tuna steak and it was amazing. I plan on getting that next time. The restaurant is family oriented. It is a little noisy but you are comfortably able to hear talk at your table. I just felt Frailey's deserved another 5 star review! We love this place! read more

This spot seems to be a bit misrepresented here on Yelp... both times I've been, the service and food have been great. It's a quaint spot and a little dated, but very clean. Maybe a lot of people just have crazy high expectations, but for what it is, I think it's phenomenal. I had the Cuban sandwich with waffle fries, as well as their buffalo whiskey lemonade. Everything was super tasty and reasonably priced. Additionally, our server, noticing my friend hadn't really touched his cocktail, gave him a different one on the house. I don't know of a lot of restaurants that do that (maybe I just need to get out more) but I thought that was a really sweet, unnecessary gesture. All in all, it's a great little spot and I'll definitely be going again soon. read more

We stayed at a hotel close by. I read the reviews and took a chance. The bar area is separated by a partition and the dining area is comfortable. We ordered the pulled pork nachos and a bowl of vegetable beef soup. The soup was good but a little bit salty. The nachos were delicious with a bit of a kick in spite of asking for no jalapeños. The white sauce was my favorite. So yummy. I can't say anything bad about the food or service. I noticed as we ate many families and seniors came in. To me that means the menu is good and prices are reasonable. If I am in town again, I will come back. read more

I have been meaning to eat here for months but never found it convenient. Today that changed. I went to a familiar venue only to find it was out of business. Frailty's was nearby so I went there. I sat at the bar and got quick service. I ordered the Cuban sandwich with a side of Cole slaw. Preparation was pretty quick so I got my food within 20 minutes. The Cuban sandwich was warm and filled with ham and pulled pork. It was topped with cheese and sweet pickle chips. It was a very good sandwich. The Cole slaw was creamy and tangy. I washed it down with a glass of house Chardonnay. The price was very reasonable. It's a sports bar and the servers are good natured. I will return to try more menu items in the future. read more

There is nothing crazy unique or special about this restaurant but all three of our party said the food was good with only slight complaints on minor issues. This is our usual place in the neighborhood that is an on again/off again relationship. Last night took the prize for the worst night out of our dining experience here in many years of patronage to this dungeon like dirty restaurant. It was downhill all night long starting off with my husband and I splitting a Chef Salad. Usually we never had any complaints with getting the Chef Salad made correctly, but this time the salad came out as a plain house salad with red onions, tomatoes, and not any cheese, eggs, or meats that are supposed to be on it. We asked for them to bring it back and make the salad right. The server had the nerve to say that they will bring the additional ingredients and we can add it and we said "no" we are out to dinner and we shouldn't have to make our own salads so bring it back and add the ingredients! Instead they threw the original salad away (not our decision to waste food) and decided to give us new salad made correctly, which took a long time to get. The night got even worse when my husband had ordered a medium-well Western Burger and it came out dripping blood!! The bread was soaked with blood too!! Totally unacceptable and also dangerous serving undercooked hamburger and risking the chance to have harmful E. coli bacteria that can make you seriously ill. The safe internal temperature should be at least 160 degrees and a restaurant owner should know this. The owner came out in an argumentative mood because he was mad that he remade the salads and was made to remake the burger. He said he didn't see anything wrong with the burger because that's how he likes them!! As if to say, I like them that way, what was wrong with it. I told him how dangerous it is to serve a burger under cooked and his answer was that he make it anyway he wants to and that he has the right to cook them that way if he chooses to. He took all charges off the bill (as he should have), but yelled at us to never come back!!! This is the worst display of anger I've seen from a supposedly responsible restaurant owner in front of everyone around us, and he didn't care!! Unbelievable that he blamed us for any of it!!! DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS RESTAURANT. There are plenty of better places than this to spend your money at, and be treated with better respect. read more

I would recommend. In a strip mall with a big parking lot. Went on a Friday evening at 5 PM. They sat all five of us right away. Only negative. They sat us by the windows which were cold, and there was a door to the outside area that people were using to go in and out to smoke. Service was good. Food was good. I ate at Frailey's about two weeks ago. I didn't take any pictures, I was with family from out of town and preoccupied with conversation. I realize that all my reviews tend to be five star reviews and my experience at Frailey's was less than five stars. The service was mediocre, dirty dishes were left on a crowded table even after we requested they be taken. We were told they were out of ranch dressing when ordering salad, but then when someone else at the table asked for ranch to dip something in later it was brought. The restaurant is clean, there's space to eat both indoors and outdoors, a wide variety of food on the menu. It's an OK place to eat, just not my top choice. read more

I'd like to share my thoughts on Frailey's, especially considering their three-star rating. If you haven't visited them recently, it's worth reconsidering. The challenges brought by Covid affected many food establishments, and giving Frailey's another chance could be worthwhile. Their wings are truly delicious, salads are abundant and satisfying, and the menu offers a variety of great options like burgers and wraps. I've had excellent experiences with carryout orders from them at my job recently, and it seems like Frailey's is stepping up their game. It's time to go back and give them another chance! read more

The worst service ever!!! We had a large group wanting to stop somewhere for dinner after an exciting day going wedding dress shopping where our bride to be said yes to her dress. I called and spoke to a young woman asking what the wait was. She said there was no wait. I explained that we had a party of 12 and she said they would get it set up if we could be there in about 15 min. We were just on south Lindbergh. There was a severe storm at the time and we arrived about 20 min later. I walked in and saw a large party, about the size of ours, was just sat. I explained that I had just called and they said we don't take reservations. I explained I didn't make a reservation but they had obviously given our table away. The offered for me to speak to the manager. I waited and a man came up asking what the issue was. I explained the situation and he said repeated the same that they don't take reservations. I said I was told they would get our table set up and I had 12 people waiting outside excited about our day that were now being let down. The bride to be was standing with me at this point. And to be clear- I did not tell, curse, or anything, I was stern but not rude. At this point he told me that he wasn't going to let me yell in his restaurant. I said I am not yelling. He said you can leave. I asked him who I spoke to on the phone bc apparently they didn't know the rules and also needed additional training so this didn't happen to anyone else. At this point he was waving and taunting us saying just go and have a nice night. We walked outside and I was giving my group the Information while we were determining where to go next and this man followed us outside of the door and said "actually you can just never come back. Don't ever come back here" as he waved at us. And closed the door. I stood in shock, as we all did, Appalled that this manager acted this way after it was their mess up. I would think in this era, that businesses would be more careful of their treatment of customers, especially a woman by a grown man in front of an entire restaurant and other waiting customers outside. Following a woman outside is never ok. If this is the management that Frailey's employs i am not upset about being told to stay away and will make sure to share this unprofessional situation with all that will listen. There are plenty of bar and grills in the soco area...this one is not that special and the poor treatment of female customers is reason enough to go elsewhere. read more

Solid 3.5. For the Turkey wrap--the Turkey was the skin sliced Turkey and was really good. I got the side of vegetables and was surprised--they were grilled and not the gross soupy kind. I've gone here many times with my family & son. It was 5 pm on a Friday, I get its busy time. But the hostess didn't want to seat us because we needed a high chair and there were no tables open that would accommodate a high chair. We would've been happy to wait the 20 minutes if they were nice about it. but instead she stated "yeah I'm not allowed to put a high chair at a table.. can we make it work without one?no? I agree with Stephanie, the karaoke is a 5 star experience. Allison the karaoke hostess, knows how to get a crowd pumped. She keeps the flow of entertainers going and encourages duets and groups to sing their very best. Also, as pointed out by Stephanie.....the song book is huge. I don't think the Mitch Miller song book was ever that big. Okay, I know you young folks are now going to have to go Google Mitch Miller to find out who he is. Thanks to the Internet old singalongs are not lost. The drinks were cheap. I didn't pay the same price twice and I was drinking the same thing all night. I never challenged it, because it kept getting cheaper. Either the price goes down when karaoke begins, or it was my lucky night. The staff was friendly and the crowd was a good mix of ages. The only negative of the night was sitting next to a plus size couple making out and I mean serious tounge and breast grabbing. The bartender was flipping ice water on them to cool them down. Nothing slowed them down. If you're a fan of karaoke, Frailey's on Friday night is your spot. No food was consumed on this visit, but the appetizer sampler plate served to my right and left looked like a good accompaniment to a cold beer. read more

Why go against the grain? I'm always looking for a new karaoke joint, and recently I discovered Frailey's Southtown and its Friday night karaoke. Like many other reviews, I will say that I did love the karaoke but the place is pretty average. Friday night Frailey's was holding a benefit for the St. Louis Pet Rescue. They were taking donations, both money and items. From what I could tell, the event was a definite success. As for the karaoke host, she was attentive and friendly. However, they had her corralled in the corner of the bar, which didn't make for a good presentation. Nonetheless, she handled the singers quickly and painlessly. Some karaoke hosts drag their feet getting people through, but I didn't have to wait long for my turn and had plenty of opportunities to sing. Also, she was very much in the spirit of Valenetine's Day and the pet event, decorating her area with hearts and wearing dog ears all night long! As for the place itself, the wow factor certainly wasn't there. However, the waiter did a good job and was on top of our food and drink needs. We ordered the appetizer sampler: chicken strips, toasted raviolis, cheesesticks, and potato skins. We were pretty satisfied with the order. Frailey's offers some decent specials during the week, but I don't see me heading down there any other day than Friday for karaoke. And I will definitely be back for the karaoke! read more

This is a review called "Allison's Microphone," and it's about Allison and the Microphone. But Allison's Microphone is not the name of the restaurant, which is located in South County, in a strip mall, with free parking spaces galore, which makes suburbanites like me smile. Somewhere down the way from Schnucks is Frailey's Southtown, the place where you'll find Allison and the Microphone. They are the main reasons we visited, so that's why I call the review Allison's Microphone. Cue the Arlo Guthrie music. Go. "You can sing any song you want on Allison's microphone. You can sing any song you want on Allison's microphone. Walk right in; it's left of the bar. Karaoke might make you think you're a real rock star. You can sing (almost) any song you want on Allison's microphone." Now it all started two Friday nights ago, when my friend and I went up to visit Allison and the Microphone at Frailey's. Allison wasn't in the restaurant part, she was in back, and so we decided it would be a friendly gesture to order appetizers and drinks, the steamed broccoli part of which was healthy, and the French fries part of which was tasty, along with very good beer like Goose Island IPA. So that's what we had, late night snacks that couldn't be beat. Then, we followed the sound of the music up to the bar area, and waited for the baseball and hockey games to end, so that the television volume could go down and the microphone volume go up. They got a white loose-leaf notebook, where you find all the songs in the karaoke program's database, pages and pages that you can inspect, detect, infect, neglect, and select. Then Allison gives you this little piece of paper, and you write down the name of the artist and the song you want to sing, and you pass the paper up to the karaoke DJ laptop-soundboard command post, which looks all space-age like Lt. Uhura's communication station on the starship Enterprise. And then you wait your turn, humming along while others get theirs. And when I finally went up there, I started jumpin' up and down, and yellin' out the words that were appearin' on the screen right in front of me, which were changin' colors to show me which word I was supposed to be on. Maybe I was actually in synch with the rhythm here and there, and was singin' a few measures not too badly off-pitch. Soon a few other people started jumpin' up and down with me, all my new friends, and we was yellin', singin' and having a real fun time. And so, yelp friends, can you imagine fifty people a night walking in and singin' at the bar on Allison's Microphone? They may think it's a movement! I would really love to give Frailey's more stars. Allison is a fantastic karaoke DJ, and she has a few regulars that sort of blew my socks off...eh hem, Catherine M. Awesome sauce!!! We had a blast with a few sing-a-longs. Unfortunately... or fortunately (depending on how you look at things)... there was no dancing on tabletops, taking too many shots, thinking we kissed but forgot, or getting kicked out of the bar. There was definitely no hitting the boulevard... considering that the "boulevard" outside of Frailey's includes a Waffle House, Schnucks, and a Taco Bell/Pizza Hut combo. There was, however, several pictures taken... and a few videos. Just because our group was tamed despite Allison B.'s rendition of "Can't Be Tamed", doesn't mean all of the Frailey's clientele was. As soon as I walked in, I saw a couple sitting at the bar. I sort of had the feeling that they were going to be trouble, but didn't know how much until the king and queen of trashy began making out. And the making out didn't even begin until they evacuated their seats (which Steven B. and I quickly took over), only to come back 15 minutes later to rudely give me the stink eye and say that I had stolen their seats. Yeah, there was no polite stink eye tonight. Back to the making out. What a gross display of saliva and drunken hoosier pre-mating. If you are these people or know these people, you should be embarrassed! Super. Embarrassed. I was a little surprised at the size of the bar, when I walked in, but it ended up being okay. I took Stephanie S.'s advice and skipped the food. The Bud Light on tap was just as good as it usually is... and I appreciated the frosted glasses. Service was very slow, but part of the issue is my height. No one ever sees me. Overall, I had a great night celebrating Allison and Steven's birthdays... and OASIS Food Pantry will be thrilled by the donations made!!! Frailey's is a good combo sports bar and family restaurant. The place is loaded with kids at dinner time and they are all well behaved. The food selections are mostly the standard fare with an emphasis on fried foods. I tend to choose broiled foods and they did have some selections for me. The location is convenient to local hotels and one can be satisfied that they won't be disappointed here. Service was very adequate. read more
