Good food but a bit pricey. The menudo is much more pricey than other spots I've been to. Another downside is that they give you very small amounts of cilantro, onion, or lemon. While it's less wasteful than places where they give you more it's a bit annoying having to ask and wait for more, especially when it's busy. I had this food delivered to my home today. I ordered 2lbs of Carne asada, one taco and two large containers of beans. This was my first time eating from this establishment. I can tell you the carne asada was amazing. It was perfectly seasoned and diced up for easy eating with a fork. The carne asada taco was good. The beans were runny. I'm guessing they were slow cooked pinto beans but can't be sure. They got thicker the more I pored out the container. Could have used a little bit more seasoning. The Roja salsa is HOT! Very flavorful, however a little goes a long way. They included a large tray of cilantro, onions and limes, The Carne asada was $12 a pound cooked, which I feel is a great value. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be ordering from in the near future. read more

Hand made tortillas made as you wait. Service was quick and courteous, but there are no prices anywhere. I ordered 2 Carnitas Street tacos and one Carne Asada street taco. You can view the meal from one of the pictures. They have meat and cilantro, and I asked for adding onions, they would not add them even though I could see them in there preparation area, which I found shocking. They also don't work with avocado or guacamole. The meat was high-quality, the tortillas fresh and their green salsa was medium heat and I've never had a creamy chili salsa like that ever before. I'm not sure I would request it again, but it's a little milder than the tomatillo green salsa. I can see why they get 4 stars, but I personally like my taco with at least cilantro and onions. There's a small bar for seating and parking directly in front of the restaurant. I don't think I'll be back because I can't get a street taco like I want it made, but what they served was very good. read more

Sadly, this was our last time buying birria here. I have been a fan of their food for a long time! But I'm not sure what has happened but lately the food has been bad. And is not that cheap. The consomé has been tasting like water with salt, barely any meat on the tacos. You ask for specific salsas or chiles and they just give don't give them to you. This is the best Mexican food we've had (in a restaurant) since moving from LA to north SD county. Minus one star for not posting prices on the menu. It's difficult to responsibly order for a family of 7 without knowing how much anything costs upfront. FYI the following order was $37: asada burrito Bean and cheese burrito 3 carnitas tacos (a la carte) Large horchata $37 seems a little high for all that, considering everything was a la carte (no sides) but not exactly price gouging either. The carnitas were the best - much better than the carne asada. The salsa was spicy and flavorful. Good beans. The wait to get our food on a Sunday at 11am was excessive. I'm talking like 40 minutes. This ain't no fast food taco shop. Worth the wait, and the price, if you're stuck on finding something authentic and delicious. My Mexican husband approves. I got some chicken soup here as this place was recommended to me. I got it to go, and the soup was cold. So whereas you get takeout to not do dishes, I still had to do them. The soup isn't bad, but definitely not great. Everything is in giant chunks, so you need to be cutting your soup as you eat it. There were also a lot of small bones in it too, which I didn't like. AMAZING. This is the go to place after a night out because menudo cures it all and the taste makes you forget all the embarrassing things you did. The salsa isn't watered down like most places. And the tortillas are LIIIIFE. I've also had the birria and although it isn't like my best's home made birria, it's pretty close and still delicious. The exterior looks a bit sketchy, but walk in and be relieved because the ladies are always patient and you see the pot cooking all the good stuff right in front of you. The food is good but customer service is really bad. It's an expensive place it's not like we go there to eat for free, at least a greeting or a better face expression would be nice. They're always mad or have some issues..it gets crowded because they take forever to take your order and at some point I think they over charge the food. They have a lot of solid Mexican food. Their tortillas are handmade and are excellent. My wife says the Chicken soup is the most authentic she has had in the area. I've only been during Covid and sometimes the wait is longer than you would like. The food is also a little pricey but overall good quality. I placed an order for tamale dough in advance because I knew this place would be busy with dough orders this week. The employees knowingly gave my husband dough for tortillas; whilst knowing that I had actually ordered tamale dough. I only found this out because when I called the establishment the owner told me that they knew they ran out and still gave my husband the tortilla dough even though I placed an order for tamale dough. I'm absolutely appalled that they knew my order was wrong and still sold it to my husband knowing it was wrong just to make a profit. I ordered the asada burrito and the carne asada was the worst I've honestly ever had in my entire life. It was really salty and lemon flavored. I put the red salsa on it to mask the taste but it was so spicy to the point I couldn't enjoy the meal, so luckily they gave me the green salsa and that made it taste better. Place was just a complete disappointment from the food to the service, I took my family for a quick bite here on Sunday morning as this was supposed to be of the top restaurants when it came to birria, barbacoa and menudo, So We ordered birria barbacoa and cabeza tacos for our kid, to start off the cashier was one of the most disrespectful persons I've dealt with, told me to wait along with other clients while she got a personal call, so she took my order, I ordered 2 large drinks plus a small drink, they only give me 2 small drinks, so I went to the cashier to get my two large drinks and give her the small drink back, she quickly started arguing I only ordered 2 small drinks even with the receipt on my hand WTF!!! Until another employee check the receipt and gave us what we ordered, so that was the end of that. When the food arrived everything was just completely bland, no flavor at all and overall greasy completely greasy, there was more fat than meat on our barbacoa and cabeza tacos, they gave us this orange colored sauce with no flavor, I would not recommend this place to anyone from service to food everything was very poor. You will find some of the most tastiest tacos and burritos here.. these gals don't specialize in white boy stuff like California Burritos... rather birriera and other authentic and home cooked meats.
