    Margaritas
    Mel J.

I feel a little spoiled living in California where we have so many amazing Mexican restaurants so my expectations are pretty high. When we walked it, the decor was perfect and I liked how it was split with the tables in one side and bar on the other, always nice to have separate spaces. I ordered the chicken mole plate with whole beans and a Cadillac Margarita. My sister ordered the steak complete with refried beans and a house margarita. She liked her drink and the tacos but said she wished the taco shells held together a little better. I liked the chicken mole but felt there was more onions than chicken, the margarita was excellent. I'd like to come back and try the fajitas and the enchiladas as they looked good coming out of the kitchen.

Very welcoming family owned restaurant. The space is well appointed and well cared for. We had a great date. Most important the food is absolutely delicious. Thanks!

We had a party of over 20 people and we had the best server and it was an amazing night and wonderful food with no problems and constant service! Thank you!

These guys consistently have the best Mexican food in town and the best service! They never fail to please and just watching their pace and hustle will tire you out...! These folks work their butts off to make sure you're well taken care of. It's a bunch of family that work here and you can tell it's their life passion. I can't say enough good things about them or their food! The inside is always clean and decorated for fill-in-the-blank-holiday. Very festive and always a great experience!

The shredded beef tacos with rice and beans. Bland food.

We recently had an appointment near Francisco's and decided to stop by and see if it was any good. It was the lunch hour but it wasn't crowded at all. So as we walked in we were seated right away. The place looked great and the servers were very friendly. The menu looked great with many great looking choices. I chose the tacos with shredded beef that comes with rice and beans. I also ordered a Modelo with a lime. The wife ordered a taco and enchilada combo plate. Also came with rice and beans. While we waited they brought chips and salsa with a small plate of warm bean dip. Which I really liked bcz you really see that at too many restaurants. Our food came and looked great. But I have to say I was really disappointed to see the taco shells were premade. I've seen this lately at a couple of other restaurants. I find it really disappointing. Other than that the meal was just ok. The shredded beef in the tacos was very savory. But didn't have much flavor. The rice was dry the way I like it. But that also had little to no flavor. The beans were the same. Needless to say this was a disappointing visit to this establishment. Kinda sad since this a really nice place and it's very clean. I probably won't be back. But I'm not gonna tell anyone they shouldn't eat here. Bcz I'm sure there's people that love this place and that's fine.

Such a cute place. Walked in and sat at the bar and without hesitation they accommodated our request to watch the playoff game and put it on at the bar for us. The staff is so friendly. We didn't eat because we were going to go to a party nearby but liked this place and felt they deserve to get an appreciation post.

Came for lunch, had shredded beef taco salad, husband had chicken tacos. Was served with chips, salsa and refried beans once we say. To me a tell tell of a good Mexican restaurant is the beans. Good beans will equal good food. They had good beans! Service was friendly, timely and both the shredded beef and chicken on each dish was juicy and flavorful. The ambiance is a bit dated, but fine. Nice place for lunch

Used to enjoy this place. Very disappointing . My wife ordered taco salad and I had steak fajitas. Her dinner came and server had wrong entree for me. A taco how does this happen. She said something couldn't understand and a few minutes later come fajitas. Lots of meat but very dry and bland. Very few onions and bell peppers. Rice beans all bland. More spice from taco bell. Flour tortillas a joke. So small like mini size and definitely store bought. Service not good and food bland means I'm done. So sad.

The carnitas have a tangy flavor - awesome work. The veggies seasoned just right.

Managing diabetes with diet and exercise, I always judge a Mexican restaurant by the flexibility of the cooks. I can't eat rice, beans, or tortillas. I wish I could, but that's life. I usually get a Fajita's or Carnitas plate and ask for lots of extra vegetables, cream, cheese and guacamole. A bad restaurant will bring me a plate with normal portions of meat and vegetables with empty areas where the rice and beans would have been. I usually leave hungry. Francisco's chefs and servers get it. "The customer needs to eat." The carnitas were SPECTACULAR and covered 1/3 of the plate. The other 2/3 of the plate was a salad with great salsa and really tasty fajita veggies with onions. The server checked on me 3 times to make sure I was happy. I asked for some sour cream and they brought me a bowl with 1/3 cup in it. I would have liked guacamole - if I had asked, they would have brought it. Great place!

This young man was the best. We were brought chips and salsa, and we also requested the extra spicy for the Hubby. The mild was perfect for me. The chips were nice and crunchy with a great corn flavor. We did order a sangria for me and a margarita for the hubby. They have a really nice lunch menu with great prices and a very extensive regular menu. I ordered the #6 off the lunch menu. A chili relleno with the sauce on the side and a crispy ground beef taco. The rice was so good, great flavor as well as the refried beans. 5 stars for each of these. The taco was so full of meat (ground beef) and fresh veggies. The chilli relleno was huge and perfectly cooked. I get my sauce on the side so leftovers will not get soggy. Now this sauce was like a ranchero sauce, looked like onions, celery and maybe tomatoes in it. It was really tasty. Hubby got a #13 off the regular menu. 1 enchilada, he got ground beef, 1 crunchy taco with ground beef and a tamale which was shredded beef. I tried the tamale and it was very delicious. We did ask to speak to the Manager who looked a bit nervous coming over. We explained to him it was our very 1st visit and won't be our last. We told him everyone wants to call you over to complain, we were like we wanted to give you major compliments on everything from the awesome waiter Ivan to the food and atmosphere. Music was at a perfect tone etc. We were seated by the bar area in a booth. Very nice in that area. We will definitely be going back

Even a little microwaving on Night 2 didn't really dent the experience. My only quibble is that I prefer black beans to refried, but either forgot to ask or wasn't sure.

I live in Carson City, and when my husband and I found this little spot I was happy because they serve breakfast. A lot of Mexican places around here do not. They also have a variety of dishes that have potato and egg in them, and my husband and I are vegetarian and vegan respectively. I really was happy that they had some dishes that we could choose from and modify to fit our dietary needs. Last weekend we drove from Carson to have breakfast on Saturday. We got there at 10:30. They list themselves as being open at 10am. There was a closed sign in the window. We could smell food cooking, and I could actually see movement through the tinted windows. Confused, we decided to wait thinking that maybe they would open seeing people standing there (in the summer heat mind you). While we were waiting, I noticed one of the waitresses that I've seen before quickly drive up around to the side, get out, and run into a back door. I thought, maybe they're running late. Maybe somebody called in sick and they are shortstaffed. I decided to knock on the door to ask when they were going to open, because we had come all that way to have breakfast with some friends who are also vegetarian. We've been telling them how excited we were to find another option for breakfast. No one would open the door for us. I called as well. No answer. We went next-door to Blind Dog, had a coffee, and waited for a bit. We came out after and they were still closed. At this point we just gave up and drove back to Carson City and had breakfast at Squeeze In. It was a really big disappointment. The food here is all right. I enjoy the potato taquitos. They will modify their dishes without dairy to make it vegan friendly. Picture of a couple weeks before when I brought a friend here for lunch and the margaritas we had. Drinks are a bit overpriced but taste good. The ambiance is upbeat. When they are open, the service is friendly and swift.

Warm, fresh chips arrived quickly with waters and three excellent dips: a zesty red salsa, a flavorful green salsa (my favorite; I don't often see it served, and it was fresh and full of amazing flavors), and a tasty refried bean dip. All three were delicious. My wife and I split the cheese enchiladas and the Carne Asada dinner. Both were authentically prepared and full of flavor. The carne asada was tender and well-seasoned, the enchiladas rich and satisfying with plenty of melted cheese and savory sauce. We finished most of it and happily brought the extra steak home for breakfast omelets the next morning. I checked this place out in the afternoon before deciding to go to dinner there. It looked pretty casual in the menu look like something everybody would enjoy. When we got there, we were greeted nicely and our server, JC, was very nice. All of the food was bountiful. We ordered the appetizer with three different items which was pretty good. It was onion rings, fried zucchini, and fried mozzarella sticks. The zucchini was a little undercooked. On to the main courses. It took longer than we would think and they brought it out in pieces. The two men got theirs first and my daughter and I got hers a few minutes later and Grandma was served last. Grandpa ordered a steak sandwich and he said it was good. My husband ordered a Philly cheese steak, which she said was decent. Grandma ordered fish and chips and she said it was so so. The french fries were thick steak type that were really good. A couple of us tried them. My daughter and I were excited when we saw the lobster tacos and we ordered them. The chips that came with them were salty beyond belief! We could not even eat them. When I told JC, she said there's nothing they could do about the chips and she offered to take the salad off the bill which I thought was nice. Both of my daughter and I could not eat the chips. The lobster tacos were not good. If the corn tortillas were warmed or cooked, it must've been very, very little. The lobster was chopped up in a wait and mixed with some kind of sauce that we can barely taste the lobster. We got two tacos and barely ate one. We took them home, but it didn't seem worth it to try to mend this. The best thing I can say is that the people they were very welcoming and pleasant. Also, JC gave my father-in-law a lemon bar for his birthday as we walked out. That was really sweet. Lastly, make sure you bring cash because you have to pay extra for using a card. We have to pay over $6 extra because we used a card. Am I understanding is that is happening a lot in restaurants. So, I don't think this is unusual.

Before you get there, decide how many tacos you want to eat. There will be temptation, stick to your guns. The quick and efficient service may tempt you into an extra taco, resist. Develop the plan, work the plan, stay on the plan. The same goes for weenie Wednesday. The waitress explained it to us once. The owner secures Casper brand hot dogs, bring them over the hill weekly, and the hot dog is designed to snap when you bite into it. I'm convinced this is a covert plan to get you to change your plan. I wish you the best of luck here. The weenie Wednesday menu reflects a variety of flavors that will tempt you into deviating from the plan. I've never heard of a Reuben dog, or a Caesar dog. When I grew up, I had mustard dogs. These dogs are way beyond that and the venue tempts you to try new versions of different hot dogs. One of my excuses the last time I had weenie Wednesday was that " sauerkraut is good for my gut biome." So on taco Tuesday and weenie Wednesday, you could be tempted into a second round. That's not a good thing. The service has been fun, the environment, friendly, and welcoming, people laughing throughout the room, enjoying their food. Makes it a great experience. Oh heck, you're in the building you're hungry, change the plan, enjoy.
