I have always wanted to try a deep dish pizza, I stumbled across Franco's on Yelp while in Tulsa. The most friendliest place I've been to in a while. Ordered a meat deep dish with a small side salad. The small salad is big enough to share. The pizza was just how I imagined it would be. Our waitress was amazing! She gave us details of the story behind the owner . Francos was decent. I enjoy trying differentl places so i thought I would give them a try. Ordering was quick and easy and the service was friendly. They have two entrances, one for carryout and one for dine in. Both areas were relaxed and not too noisy. I got a Ny Style pizza and it was enjoyable enough that I would like to give them another try to test the deep-dish. They use a pizza specialty supplier and it tasted exactly like the pizzas Ive had that had the same supplier. Good quality ingredients but they didn't blow my mind. read more

We have been wanting to try Franco's for a while. Finally made time - you need to plan around this given the time to make a deep dish pizza! We ordered a large pepperoni deep dish to go. We ordered online, but it was not very clear to get a deep dish online. Fortunately they figured it out and we're baking the right pizza when we picked it up to go. Pizza was good. We have had all the solid places in Chicago - so we have a pretty good idea of what real deal is. Sauce was tangy... very tangy but nice given the richness of the pie. Cheese was plentiful and perhaps too salty for my taste. Crust was very good - flaky and golden brown. We also had cannolis which were decent. I'd try it again and recommend it... but would like to find a balance to the super salty cheese if possible. read more

Could so easily be five star, but... On Halloween we placed an order online at 3:15 for a 6:30 delivery. They use a delivery service called Menufy. I don't know if it was delivery service or restaurant, but food wasn't delivered until 6:55; 25 minutes late. We ordered Arancini, Fried Ravioli, & Deep Dish with onions, pepperoni, and sausage. Growing up near Chicago, we've never encountered Arancini which looked like this. It's usually a rice ball which you can dip in marinara or sauce. This was good, but over powered while being drowned in the sauce. The Toasted Ravioli was spot on; akin to our favorite St. Louis T-Rav Joint. I could make a meal out of this crunchy on the outside, tasty on the inside hens of deliciousness. The Deep Dish has to be the best in Tulsa area. Yes, it is better than the pizza place in Bixby. Flaky crust, with a zesty sauce leaves your taste buds wanting more. The Italian sausage was the perfect topping. Can't go wrong with this pizza. Will definitely try this again. Took 25 minutes to get my order placed and a server for even my initial drink order. The restaurant ruined my clothes with the smoke in the restaurant and gave my eyes a full on allergic reaction. My car also smells like the smoke despite washing it afterward. Food was immensely overpriced and undercooked after waiting a over a half hour for it. We got a margarita pizza and a ravioli appetizer. It was not enough to eat for two people for the price and the herbs were wilted on the pizza. Calling all Midwest Pizza Aficionados! I've been debating on whether to post this because I feel like Franco's is still somewhat of a hidden gem. And once it gets out how amazing the pizza is I'll have to wait even longer to get my Chicago-style pizza fix. But it may also cause them to have to expand into a larger location - maybe even even more than one location or many! In their quest of their southwest United States domination. Ok, maybe a little dramatic but the pizza is shall we say, the best south of the Chi. Now to the pie. I ordered a small deep dish pep, sausage and shroom pie. Simple and delicious. The sauce is incredibly flavorful. The toppings or in this case the filling of pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms are very good quality and just the perfect amount of cheese so as not to choke a horse as I've experienced with another local shop's pies. Seems some have the idea that if you put enough cheese on and in a pizza it will compensate for the poor quality of everything else. But this pie was perfect! The crust is the most delectable, crispy, crunchy and chewy I've ever had. My wife doesn't eat cheese and she kept taking my crust edges before I could finish it. Needless to say I'll be getting a large next time. So, for all yous guys looking for da best pie south of Chi, head on over to Franco's in BA. You won't regret it! read more

I went to college in southwest Michigan and have literally lost count of how many times I drove to Chicago just to eat. Occasionally I would go for Indian food but usually I went for pizza. In downtown Chicago I've had pizza from Uno/Due, Lou Malnati's, and Giordano's a minimum of two times each as well as several visits to Gino's East in the outskirts. So I know Chicago pizza. In the past week I've been to three different "Chicago pizza" places in the area. The first one made a standard mid-America pizza with standard mid-America ingredients but managed to shape and arrange it to look like a Chicago deep dish pizza. It was edible. Maybe the company owner met someone once who changed planes in Illinois. The second one was owned by someone allegedly from Chicago and it was much better than the first but it was let down by the fact that the pizza was still cooked in a conveyor belt oven and the cheese still wasn't fully melted even after I sent it back. But hey, they tried. Tonight I ordered the stuffed pizza from here. I knew I was getting something good when I was still waiting for my order after about an hour and a half. (If that bothers you then order before you get here like they do at the original Uno in Chicago.) The long wait time assured me that this pizza never saw a conveyor belt. And when they brought it to me I knew I had finally found the real thing without having to go to Chicago to get it. This was WAAAAYYYYYY better than Giordano's. The dough was reminiscent of Lou Malnati's or the original Uno's. My wife and I ordered a small and it was so filling she could only handle one slice. And I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that the olives were Greek kalamata olives instead of cheap standard black ones. And the best surprise was the free appetizer of arancini because it was our first visit. I can guarantee that it won't be our last. read more

Franco's. Located in Broken Arrow right behind Ron's on 161st and 91st! Small staff so be patient and they have a ton of Togo orders. We looked at the menu and it looked pretty small so I scanned it and opened up the app and there we go! Everything was on it...so be sure to scan the menu ..not sure why they didn't tell us this but we figured it out. I asked the guy helping us out what he suggested. He said most people order either the Italian beef So I got the Italian beef. A ton of meat, a ton of cheese, and au jus! I mean could you ask for any more? Francos Pizza and Trattoria in broken arrow was a HIT! My old boss told me awhile back Franco's is a must try. I always get scared trying something new but finally gave it a shot tonight... & it was so worth it!!! We started with garlic bread with mozzarella & their marinara sauce was phenomenal. Then we had a salad with the balsamic vinaigrette dressing that was out of this world. On to the main course we had spaghetti&meatballs the only pic I didn't get but Franco himself said the spaghetti sauce has been in the family for over 100 years(which I think is pretty amazing). I myself had the Italian beef sandwich with cheese that melted in my mouth with the hot peppers & au ju. My husband had the chicken parm and said it was the best he's ever had. Everything here is made @ time of order. Everything is authentic & shipped in. Last but not least the DESSERT PIZZA!!!! AMAZING!!!! If you've made it this far do not let this place be a 2nd option! Ok went to Francos Pizza and Trattoria in BA about 3ish today for the first time. Every other time we have tried the wait has been crazy long. They did not disappoint, and now I know why they are always packed, the food was SO good and I am so picky about spaghetti and meat balls and Caesar. OUSTANDING! Great service by Shelly, she found out that we were first time customers and made our lunch experience delightful. She first brought us out Arancini, which was totally new to me. It's a fried rice ball with cheese, meat and some other yummy stuff covered in marinara. It was so Good! Then we had a house salad, very fresh and full of flavor. Then here comes the Deep Dish Pizza. Made with Franco's own pizza dough recipe. Full of meat and cheese and the pizza sauce you could put on a Cracker! Last but not Least, we had Tiramisu to go because there was no way I could take another bite! I'm coming back for the Italian Beef Sub on my next visit. I have seen reviews of this restaurant & finally needed a bestie date so my friend & I went to try them out. Well, I left stuffed because it was soooooo good & soooooo much food! They gave us an Arancini appetizer free since we'd never been here. Tasty! Their marinara sauce is just... wow! We both ordered a calzone not knowing if one was enough to split and we also ordered the garlic cheese bread. Well, yes, one calzone plus everything else we ordered would have definitely been enough, but it was nice to order exactly what we each one of the first time. Unless you just want a cheese calzone, every ingredient does cost. Meat ingredients are $2.99 each... Ouch, I didn't quite read that.. even though our waitress alerted us, but again, this was the first time try, and next time we will compromise and split one. :) Very friendly staff & the food was so good. My friend had even noticed on their website that they had specialty coffees. This was a hopping place. Most of the orders are carry out. Several persons who said they were repeat customers highly recommended the pizza. We have ordered Chicago style deep dish pizza. Takes 30 minutes so hopefully it's worth the wait. I knew it would be longer but wanted the deep dish. Owner said by March they would be expanding into space next door giving them a full size dining room. Currently only very limited seating available. More to come once pizza arrives. A flaky crust is the foundation of this large deep dish pizza. We chose pepperoni, sausage, pancetta and prosciutto. The pancetta is a thick Italian pork belly bacon. The prosciutto a wafer thin sliced Italian ham. Lot's of cheese covering a delicious marinara tomato sauce sprinkled with oregano. Ordered mozzarella sticks to start. They were good. Didn't appear to be the frozen variety in a lot of restaurants. The marinara sauce was perfect complement. I liked it and along with others would recommend it. I don't understand these negative reviews. We've been there three times and love it. We're going back tonight. I'm Italian, and grew up eating gnocchi. Theirs are as good as I have ever eaten, and the sauce is fabulous. The portions are so generous that it's enough for two meals. The prices are extremely reasonable. I haven't noticed that the restaurant is dirty, and ambiance doesn't matter to me, especially with such outstanding food and very friendly people. read more

Wow! It was our first experience with Franco's, and we were treated like royalty. We went for pizza but decided to try their pasta. They started us off with their family recipe of a deep-fried rice and cheese ball covered with red sauce. (So good!) I loved the crunch of the fried exterior of the rice ball, and there was plenty of soft, stringy cheese and fluffy rice inside. Honestly, I could just about make a meal out of the appetizer! The food was in huge portions and it was delicious! My husband explained to the owner, Franco, that in high school he had a friend whose family owned a Sicilian restaurant and he had been searching for flavors like it ever since, so the owner made him a specially prepared dish, off-menu! (Pasta Puttanesca). I had the special for the evening, rigatoni with pancetta in a vodka cream sauce. It was so cheesy and delicious, and it was just as good the next day as leftovers, too! Franco's make their own wine! We tried the white--made of peaches and apricots--which was delicious! Next time I'll try their red wine, which is made of cherry and figs. We want everyone to experience the wonderful family feel and delicious food of Franco's. Our next order will be the Sicilian, a thick, stuffed pizza. We can hardly wait! read more

Run don't walk to this wonderful authentic italian mom/pop shop!! Don't let the humble exterior throw you. Im here for the food. We tried the meatballs, meat ground daily, w their Nonna's recipe for sauce. An appetizer gives you four meatballs w a healthy dose of sauce. Hell, yeah!! Ridiculously good, a bit spicy and hearty. kind of reminds me of me. If I wasnt a lady, I would have licked the plate. Ha! We also each ordered a thin slice pizza which are huge! The crust is not typical bready, more crisp pie crusty... First time trying Franco's. I kept seeing fantastic reviews and figured I'd give it a try. I can't say enough good about the food. Food was incredible. I've never had a crust on a pizza be that flaky, soft, crispy, buttery all at once. Wife and I shared a 12" Calbrese pizza , son had spaghetti and meatballs and he loved it, other son had his own 10" deep dish cheese pizza. He's used to regular thin crust so he was skeptical when he first saw it but after the first bite he was sold, ate half his pizza which was A LOT for a 9 yr old. The owner came out when we were leaving, great guy with a great story/history off coming from Chicago, and a 100 yr old history of family recipes from Italy. Food quality/ingredients/presentation is unbelievable. Don't let the location fool you, it might not grab your attention from the street, but this is a true top notch Chicago/Italian restaurant tucked away in a quaint nook. Service was great, they warned us 45min-hr for the deep dish because they make each to order and it takes time to do it right, but that gave us time to visit as a family, pizza came out sooner than expected. We will 100% be back. No where in Tulsa or the surrounding area does pizza quite like this. We were so full we didn't try dessert, but by the looks of the display we definitely missed out.
