Hamburger steak was really good. Good flavor and cooked perfectly. All the hamburgers are hand pattied and you can taste it. The BBQ slaw threw me for a loop. I've only had food for takeout so I haven't dealt with the staff or gone into the location but one pancake here is huge (the the size of a dinner plate). I usually get chocolate chip and those fill me up well past lunchtime. Going here is part of my family's Saturday morning breakfast tradition, they didn't change their breakfast hours and it's not too far from where they live. So if you're looking for a big breakfast that's fairly cheap, you'll definitely want to give this place a try. read more

I stopped in for a late lunch at about 2:30 in the afternoon. They weren't very busy. The one server was very nice and efficient. She told me the special which was country style steak with rice and gravy. It came with two sides and rolls or Texas toast. I had fried okra and cole slaw and everything was very good. The rest of the menu looked pretty good and they also serve breakfast. I ended up tipping almost 25% because everything was so good. read more

By far the best burger I've ever had - they never disappoint. I've had the mushroom Swiss and I've had the cheeseburger with slaw mustard and chili. They have very good chili (I'm picky about chili) and they have the option of white slaw or BBQ slaw. Thankful they are 1/2 mile from my home. read more

My husband and I attempted to visit this restaurant for the first time today. The website shows that the restaurant closes at 2:30. We arrived at 1:35. The hours on the door show closing at 2, however the open sign was turned off and doors locked. Staff was inside. Multiple customers making an attempt to enter as we were. After calling the business number, an employee informed me that if they are not busy that "he" decides to close the restaurant. After sharing that website also shows different hours than posted on door, employee stated that the website has been inaccurate and that was that. This is a small business that will not get my business. Running a small business in this way is one of the reasons it is difficult to support many local businesses. Opening and closing on a whim and outside of your posted hours, is not good business etiquette. read more

My husband and I tried this little country cafe. Not too bad. I had a pork chop sandwich with coleslaw and mustard and fries. Pork chop crispy and tender but needed a little seasoning. Fries nice and crispy My husband had Hotdogs and fries. The coleslaw is very good but the chili had way to much chili powder. Overwhelming. The is a great little place to eat. It has typical meat and 3 but I wanted to mention the baked spaghetti. It was delicious. This is definitely not an Italian restaurant but this is worth your giving it a try! The meat sauce was not at all too sweet like some places and had mushrooms, green peppers and it was loaded with cheese. It was served with Texas toast garlic bread and a side salad made with iceberg lettuce, cucumbers and tomato. The waitresses are always super nice and attentive. read more

The food was good during breakfast when we went. Eggs were perfectly cooked the way we requested them. The pancake which we shared ( it's a biggun) was yummy, we added blueberries to ours. They were super busy but we never had to wait for our seating, our drinks or our food. They run breakfast hours like a well oil machine and I left a happy customer who plans to return!!! Last time I was here I saw a couple of people get the fried tenderloin and it looked great, so I decided to stop in to try it. Turns out it's not that great. It's a nice big piece of tenderloin and it was tender, but it greatly lacked in flavor- no seasoning whatsoever. The grits were delicious. Eggs and bologna were good, but the coffee and biscuit were disappointing. The server was noticeably kinder and sweeter AFTER she dropped off the check. read more

The atmosphere seems to be typical southern environment. It is a little small, which can be ideal for anyone. The staff here are friendly and professional with the patrons. The sweet tea is perfectly sweet. The food portions are more then expected. The 8 oz cheeseburger was well prepared with pickles on top and below the meat. The salad was great. It could have used more lettuce, and the toppings could have been cut to bite size pieces. But you definitely get your money's worth. It is worth coming back out here. read more

Went out late for a quick bite to eat and mother in law recommended the place down the road. After a short ride we pull up at Hoyts Country Cooking unfortunately they were closing at 8:00 pm we get there at 7:50 as we were walking out the door was informed that the grill wasn't closed just yet so we made a quick order of two BLTs order of fries and a hamburger to go. The gentleman behind the counter said he didn't have what we wanted but would prepare it for us anyway he pressed out a ground patty, fries a pack of bacon and got out fresh lettuce and tomatoes with buttered Texas toast it was delicious for a rush order the bacon wasn't burnt just nice and crisp the tomatoes had to be an heirloom it was very juicy with great flavor topped off with a large portion of crinkle cut fries. The hamburger (per my mother in law) was very good very juicy with leafy lettuce and that flavorful tomato. The menu is a variety of southern favorites also with a large breakfast selection including a healthy option. Will be back to try more items in the future. read more

Drove 20 miles to have breakfast and although the staff was very sweet and accommodating the food was disappointing. Ordered scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese and crisp bacon. The eggs were runny and filled with slimy American cheese and the bacon was limp. My husbands omelet was well prepared. We wouldn't drive out of our way to come back. read more
