a plate of pasta with shrimp and asparagus
    Christine C.

Last week I crashed a post Valentine's Day date with my parents and dined at Frankie & Augie Z for the 1st time. We went early and were able to have the restaurant basically to ourselves aside from one or two people at the bar. The waiter was knowledgeable and patient and allowed us to dine at our pace and enjoy conversation. For starters we had two types of calamari that were tasty, but we wished the calamari was more crisp. Beware of healthy size portions ;) Definitely shareable. I shared a dish filled with scallops, shrimp, mussels and clams served over a buttery saffron risotto. The seafood was one point, but the buttery saffron risotto stole the show for me. The seafood with mushrooms and asparagus didn't disappoint my father either!

The food quality seem to have gone down some since the previous owners. It's still pretty good.

I only went in for pizza, eat-in. Pizza was meh. Good, thin, crispy crust, but the sauce was waaaay too sweet and thick for my taste.

I was a bridesmaid in my friend's…read morewedding this past summer, and unfortunately, it was one of the most poorly managed and unprofessional venues I've ever encountered. Upon arrival--at the exact time we were instructed to be there--there were no staff members on site to prepare the venue. The bride and bridal party were left to figure things out on their own. The tablecloths provided were wrinkled beyond belief, clearly having been stored in garbage bags and not even minimally steamed or pressed for presentation. The outdoor ceremony setup was equally unacceptable. Just 1-2 days prior, the groundskeepers had laid fresh mulch, leaving the entire space smelling strongly of manure. Guests had to endure the odor while watching the bride walk down the aisle flanked by dollar-store-quality fake flowers. To make matters worse, a large hole in the fencing behind the ceremony site--clearly visible to guests--was brought to the venue's attention at the rehearsal and the bride and groom specifically asked that it be repaired. It never was. It remained a major eyesore in every ceremony photo. Staff finally arrived about an hour before the wedding began. But instead of helping with critical last-minute details like steaming linens or assisting the bridal party, they chose to focus on washing down the walkways to remove an excessive amount of goose feces. Despite their efforts, the droppings remained in many areas--causing stains on dresses and even trapping the bride's veil to the ground during her entrance. Shockingly, the staff also thought it was appropriate to begin painting walls--yes, painting--just minutes before the bridal party was supposed to walk down the aisle. It was a last-ditch effort to cover up the deteriorating condition of the venue and left everyone speechless. It may sound exaggerated--but I truly wish I were making this up. The cocktail hour was just as chaotic. Bar lines were incredibly long due to a lack of experienced bartenders, and appetizers were served without plates--only napkins. Among a very limited spread of cheese and crackers sat a random bowl of chocolate Raisinettes, seemingly tossed in from a bulk container at BJ's. All of these issues combined took away from what should have been joyful moments. The bride and groom lost nearly an hour of their scheduled photography time due to these preventable mistakes and delays. No couple should have to endure this level of unprofessionalism on their wedding day. Jefferson on the Lake has a long way to go if it wants to be taken seriously as a wedding venue. I strongly urge future couples to reconsider booking here.

We decided to try Trattoria Sei because we are looking to have a graduation dinner for my daughter soon. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed and sat down immediately. I was impressed that for a Tuesday evening there were quite a few people eating dinner there. We started with the complimentary focaccia bread and it was delicious (wish we had more lol) Our entrees consisted of Eggplant Parmigiana and Chicken Parmigiana Alla Vodka. Both entrees were incredible! We are an Italian/American family so we know what good sauce/gravy is and we are extremely picky but both sauces exceeded our expectations!! The environment was warm and welcoming and we never felt rushed. We will definitely be back! Next time we will make sure to leave room for dessert, as the dessert menu looked sooo good! If you find yourself in the area do yourself a favor and check it out. The other restaurants around might offer a little more space or nicer views BUT trust me when I tell you, the food won't come close to Trattoria Sei!

Update that it was busier than usual, now 7:06-7:21 pm. I called at 8 pm saying it was 40 minutes late (past the "out for delivery" estimate of 7:21 pm, which it had been saying for a LONG time) and was told rather rudely and abruptly that they were very busy and I shouldn't trust the slice delivery time, that they didn't see my order and two delivery guys recently left. It came at 8:02 pm. 40 min past the delivery time isn't acceptable. I also asked for my side to be "vegetable of the day" and it was pasta with sauce. I really do love the food, but was very unhappy with the delivery service. I am very hesitant to order from them again.

However, every single time I call for a takeout order there's something wrong with the order. Many times I just give them the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes I call so they can rectify the issue. Tonight I just asked for extra sauce for a meatball and eggplant Parmesan subs, cause although the subs are good they're a little dry sometimes and they need extra sauce. They did not come with extra sauce, same old dry sandwich. I called. They said the kitchen put it on there. That's not what I would've expected. This is my last time ordering from Oscar's cause I'm fed up with them getting my order wrong. I'm really not a complainer or a Karen, but I guess the jokes just on me and they don't care. Sorry Oscar. Your staff is really not that good.

Had me bury myself in winter attire and trek half an hour or so to see what was what. Oh, don't you worry lads and ladettes. LB found out what is what. Lace up your sneaks and get ready to run with me. I pulled up in the whip, in need of a wash, some wiper fluid, an oil change and an up to date registration. If you ask a mechanic they'd probably say I needed a little more than that - But, they'd probably be lying. Upchargers. Liars. Criminals. Just like the weathermen. Anyways... I park my Fordrari in a decently full parking lot right around restaurant opening. Good sign. If you asked me, but what do I know? Small lot, but relatively decent sized shop - At this particular time they still were attached to Bono Bono (which ofc I finished the meal off with but that's a story for another time... if you're lucky.) I stepped in, a two step with a half nae nae, to the interior in my high top Uggs screamin' Shady til' I die. But my screams stopped upon the sights and sounds of this sliceria. Wowza, McPowza. Geezle Beezle. Good heavens to Betsy. Do these slices look good or what. Straight up on surface play this is banging with the baddest boys in the pizza game. But am I a surface level guy? Maybe... maybe I am. But that's for me and the mirror to work out. Is love blind? I don't know. But without lust - Love is rarely found and even more seldom can love be held for a long period of time without said lust. Anyways... I lusted for this pizza upon first sight. And so will you, for you are as weak as I... maybe even weaker (probably) ((more than likely)) (((you are weaker))). Finally. Brass tax season. Let's get down to it. One of THE BEST GRANDMA I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. Honestly who am I kidding? The best grandma I've had. You could tell the dough quality upon sniff, and first taste backed it up. Superb. Just terrific. A must get. The chicken scarp was a real nice specialty pie. Legit taste, leaving you wanting even more. The vodka Sicilian was solid. The other slices were for my co-attendant who delivered distinguishing praise - And I ought believed him. Will be getting those next time as well. As we were munching down, an Angel sent from the heavens approached us. One of the owners came walking straight out from the oven with a "Thinny Thin" pie of which he was testing out new things with. "You want a slice?" He asked, in more of a proclamation than a question. I may have dropped a tear, and of course accepted a fourth slice because I'm that type of guy. The abs can continue to hibernate as they have been for my entire life. On receipt of said slice, a smile curled on my face as if I was preparing to jestermax but in reality I was just honored that I got framemogged by the jacked up owner. I ate the slice happily - and boy oh boy - that thinny thin is a thing of beauty. A scientific invention, researched and developed into near perfection. Thin, crispy, good sauce, topped off with some shred... well done lads. I could go on all day, and you'd probably love it. Bow down to LB. Top 2 pizzeria in all of Westchester. Johnny's is obviously the other. Trio Pizza is a 5 Star standout without question. That's what's what. Don't dare to question me when I provide an answer.
