I love the food here, but I ordered a delivery via slice at 6:09 pm on a Friday night. Initial estimate for delivery was 6:59 pm - 7:14 pm. Update that it was busier than usual, now 7:06-7:21 pm. I called at 8 pm saying it was 40 minutes late (past the "out for delivery" estimate of 7:21 pm, which it had been saying for a LONG time) and was told rather rudely and abruptly that they were very busy and I shouldn't trust the slice delivery time, that they didn't see my order and two delivery guys recently left. It came at 8:02 pm. 40 min past the delivery time isn't acceptable. I also asked for my side to be "vegetable of the day" and it was pasta with sauce. I really do love the food, but was very unhappy with the delivery service. I am very hesitant to order from them again. read more

I have been a long time Customer of Oscars even before it was Oscars. It was Three boys pizza. I know Oscar took over from the prior owners and I've been loyal custom, for 20 years. However, every single time I call for a takeout order there's something wrong with the order. Many times I just give them the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes I call so they can rectify the issue. Tonight I just asked for extra sauce for a meatball and eggplant Parmesan subs, cause although the subs are good they're a little dry sometimes and they need extra sauce. They did not come with extra sauce, same old dry sandwich. I called. They said the kitchen put it on there. That's not what I would've expected. This is my last time ordering from Oscar's cause I'm fed up with them getting my order wrong. I'm really not a complainer or a Karen, but I guess the jokes just on me and they don't care. I wish I had taken pictures for the review, but I was having such a great time with my wife; I didn't want to interrupt with my phone. My wife and I are from Queens, and we came all the way up to Yorktown to do some apple picking at Stuart's Farm, about a 1 hour drive . I definitely recommend. On our way out, it was around 6 PM, and we were a little hungry. I was following the GPS to head back home while she was looking for restaurants, and we actually drove across this place. She had pointed it out, so I popped a quick U-turn and we went inside. Arriving there it looked like it was closed, but when approached the door, we were able to walk in and see that it looked like a nice traditional Italian restaurant with frank Sinatra playing softly in the background. We were immediately seated by who seemed to be the bartender/hostess. We sat at a table that was for four people but it was just the two of us. We were immediately greeted by our the busboy, who served water and brought us bread with butter. That's him in the background. lol. He was actively checking on us to make sure that we were okay. The waiter was great too, but the busboy really had his attention on not just me but all the other guests in the restaurant. I even mistook him for the waiter. He was that good and attentive, which I really appreciated. I ordered a Moscow Mule, my wife a ginger ale. She had a shrimp linguine with scampi sauce, while I ordered a pasta à la Rudy. I forgot the name of the pasta, but it was like a flat, long pasta with asparagus, artichoke hearts, tomato, and chicken in this white wine sauce. The food came out on time. My Moscow Mule could've been a little bit better, but I was happy that they even had it because most places don't even carry ginger beer. The pasta came with a house salad that we shared family style. My pregnant wife ate all of her food immediately; she really enjoyed it. I finished all of my food as well, and pretty big portion. My plate looked bigger than hers because I had more veggies. The food was delicious. It was hot the whole time and got lots of flavor. You can tell they cared about the quality of there food. Last night (2024 01 22) was a bust from the start. The bread arrived stale and cold. We always ask for more bread, but not this time. We ordered a Caesar's Salad for a $5 upgrade. The dressing tasted straight from the bottle, with extra pepper. We did not finish it. Next, I ordered the ribeye medium rare. The $32 piece of meat was miniscule and old. Looked like a Denny's breakfast steak. It was cooked well done and I sent it back. I requested a plate of spaghetti with meatballs for $17. It was promptly delivered, indicating it has been sitting for some time. The meatballs were gray and tasted awfully. I sent it back like the steak, and decided to cut my losses. My wife's pasta dish was equally unappetizing. I almost laughed out loud when the server asked me if we wanted dessert. This place just shot up to my #2 favorite Italian restaurant near Yorktown/peekskill. The staff is warm and friendly and comfortable and extremely clean. Everything from the warm bread to the great tasting appetizer. The huge menus makes it hard to pick just one thing. So mu advice is if you go here with a party everyone should get a different dish so you all can share. we had the chicken parmigiana and the chicken Française. This was a great choice and absolutely delicious. the Italian cheese cake was, like I was walking down a cobblestone road in Italian and stopped at a coffee house. When I arrived, I attempted to call them for my pre-arranged curbside pick-up; however, I continuously got a busy signal. Tuesday they have a special-salad appetizer entree and dessert for $21.99. Great deal! We had baked clams stuffed mushrooms and eggplant rollatini for appetizers all really good! Woman was eating pizza right on counter, there were enough man power but they were just having fun watching Baseball game on tv . His pizza is very good so I figured his food would be too. I was right! Very informal dining room with lots of family tables and the food......oh yes....excellent! I really like veal especially saltimbocca or marsala FANTASTIC! Tender and the gravy was great too. My family are pretty picky eaters and all cleaned their plates. That is very rare! The prices are right too! He does a great job in the food department! If I had one complaint it would be with the service. I idered the shrimp parm entree for delivery along with several other entrees and the shrimp were so small it was a joke. I called to complain which I NEVER do. I was told by the owner I'm making a nite in the computer not to deliver to you anymore. I was shocked. Especially in the middle of a pandemic where restaurants are dying that's not good customer service Because I voiced my opinion on an $19 entree it was disgraceful they were the size of my pinky finger mind you I have small hands I will never dine here or get take out here again. Rather than say I'm sorry for your experience next time try the blah blah entree. There was absolutely no need to get nasty and raise his voice over the phone. Very disappointing to say the least. Oscar's is actually 2 places, your standard neighborhood pizzeria and a full menu, sit down restaurant. They share a kitchen but have separate entrances and are not connected on the retail side of the business. This review is strictly for the pizzeria portion. It is your standard NY style pizzeria with a few tables and the TV tucked in to the corner of the store, usually with some kind of sporting event on. Their store pies seem to lack imagination with your standard pies on display. For my needs, when I'm running around and just need to jump in somewhere, grab a couple of slices and keep going, Oscar's fits the bill. read more

We've been here multiple times and had wonderful service and wonderful food. So we're there again food's good and reasonable and plenty of food. Unfortunately it was only 8:15 pm and they came to us telling us that the kitchen is closing do we want anything else and I said no then he proceeded to bring the check. Didn't offer us coffee or dessert and kind of pushing us out the door at 8:18 PM not happy. Then when I said I did want coffee he's like well what do you want and I'm like I'm not done eating and then he goes I'll give you a minute or two and then he leaves and comes right back in a minute. That is very annoying to get pushed out the door and to get rushed. It was a Thursday night which I thought it was acceptable to stay open late but not even late most places closed at 10 pm nine the earliest. It look like they pushed the other two couples out also. We came here today with my almost 3 year old. The food was Honestly some of the best Italian food I've ever had, and I've had a lot of Italian! Lunch specials were all under $10/person and it was a 2 page lunch menu...something for everyone for sure! My 3 year old and I didn't finish ours, so we brought it home for dinner and got 4 more helpings out of it! The lunch special also includes really good bread and a salad. I had chicken parm with pasta, daughter had spaghetti and meatballs and it was great. One person in our party got chicken Francese and loved it and the other got chicken caprese and raved about it. The staff was very nice and patient with my little one. The only complaint I have is the food took forever to come out. We ordered at 2:15 and our entrees came out at 3:20. I went with friends recently for Happy Hour Appetizers. I ordered a Margarita pizza. When it was served, I noticed there was no fresh basil on it, which is why anyone would order a Margarita Pizza. The barmaid said" Oh, He probably ran out". So instead of saying sorry, there is no Basil, would you like anything else"? That's how it was handled. Just a turn off. We had dinner at Oscar's again last night. We've been there quite a few times and it's one of our "go to" choices for good, local food. We made a reservation and were seated right on time. The restaurant is always packed! They immediately brought delicious, warm ciabatta rolls and two bottles of water for the table. We always have the Fried Calamari Scarpariello. It never disappoints! One of the specials last night was Mascarpone Truffle Macaroni & Cheese! OMG! It was just as incredible as it sounds! I will go as far as saying it was the best Mac & Cheese I've ever had - and that's saying something 'cause I love M & C! For dinner, I had the grilled salmon over escarole. It was cooked perfectly, was a nice sized portion and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My friends had Chicken Scarpariello, Pasta Rudy, and the Sole stuffed with crabmeat (special). They were all raving about the quality and quantity of the food. The sides were pasta, vegetables or potatoes. We had all of them and they were really good.
