I'm so old, the last time I was in this building, it was Duck's market. I've driven by lots of times, but I've never come in until today. Parking is street parking only, so it can get tricky during busier times. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. They have a very large food menu, and they also have bagels, pastries, coffee, espresso drinks, , smoothies, beer, and wine. I was in at lunchtime, so I decided to get an "everything bagel" with their sun-dried tomatoes spread. I asked for light spread, and that's what I got. The bagel was amazing! Very tender. I could smell the garlic on the bagel and taste it as well. It was excellent. The spread was both savory and rich, but not overly rich. I loved it. I also had a white mocha. It was a good quality, coffee, and the drink was rich and sweet, but not overly so. I was talking with my sister later, and she told me that their sandwiches and salads are also very good. I decided to come back for dinner. I had the salami, baguette, and one of their lemon squares for dinner. The Salami Baguette had Salami, Jack Cheese, Spinach, Tomatoes, Dijon, and Pesto (Basil, Olive Oil, Garlic, Walnuts, Parmesan, and Salt) That sandwich was amazing! Baguette was soft and delicious, they were generous with the salami, and it had the right amount of cheese. The veggies give it a nice "pop" of freshness, the pesto was rich, but not overly so, and the Dijon and just a tiny bit of a "zip" to it. All of the ingredients played together very well. The lemon square, the crust was flaky, the lemon was creamy, but not overly sweet, and it had just the right amount of powdered sugar on the top. Everything I had there today was fantastic. The prices were reasonable. I will definitely be back to try more items. My only regret is waiting so long before I finally came in. Thanks! read more

Came here for breakfast. Ordered two waffles for the two of us and a coffee. It was pricey. Then we sat and waited. And waited. And waited. Finally got our waffles. They were served lukewarm to cold. We didn't want to wait for lunch from the kitchen and were pleased to be directed to their ready to go fresh deli. They had sandwiches and salads made fresh that day. We ordered the coarser sandwich for $10 and a green salad with orange ginger dressing. The sandwich was huge - easily shared between two people. The salad was fresh and delicious and the dressing was a nice change of pace. They also have beautiful baked items. I wish I would have photographed our food BeFORE we started eating it! I really enjoy Ramones. I like their coffee and many of their pastry goods. I often get a loaf of sour dough to take home - very good!! However, recently I got a breakfast burrito, and while it tastes great, the tortilla is too small OR it's too stuffed. You know how sometimes something looks SO good, and then you try it and it wasn't that good and it makes you mad about the calories you took in? Well, exactly the opposite is how I felt after trying Ramone's cinnamon roll. It was spectacular, baked to a soft perfection with velvety gooey icing heaped on. You should not go to Ramone's without having one of these. So good! My breakfast guest and I split the cinnamon roll and split an order of eggs Benedict. The potatoes served with the benes were gently seasoned and had a great crispy outside with the middle still fluffy. Really enjoyed the potatoes. The eggs were expertly poached and came with plenty of sauce - while the hollandaise was okay, it wasn't my all time favorite; seemed to have been missing the lemony flavor that I adore. Coffee is great; one of the best cups of coffee you can find in the area is at Ramones. Quick, efficient and pleasant service is consistent here. I really want to like this place, I've eaten here a few times and it's usually good. Unfortunately the last time I went was awful and the experience probably put me off going here ever again. I went for lunch on a weekend, found a nice table we ordered. I got a Kale salad, ice tea and that chocolate torte thing. The total? $31! The salad was $20. Then after I paid they said it would be 20 minutes. I asked about my drink and they said it would be up in 5. I'm sorry why does it take 5 minutes to pour ice tea into a glass? About 10 later my salad arrived... I asked for the ice tea... which I did eventually get. The kale salad was honestly one of the worst salads I've ever had. Kale in a salad should be cut up very small and / or the dressing needs to coat the leaves. I think everyone who's eaten kale knows it's all in how you prepare it. Big chunks with little dressing is ick. It had nuts and apples. Would have been better with spinach. I honestly tired to eat it, but it wasn't good. The dressing wasn't good and it just didn't go together at all. I should have got up and asked for something else... but I was trying to catch up with an old friend. When I asked for my money back they weren't super accommodating. I had to ask 2 different people, she went to talk to "someone in the back" and came back to tell me same thing. Gift card for the price and that's it. Which forces me to come back. Worst salad ever. I couldn't wait to get out of there. The chocolate torte thing is amazing. Really it could be 1/4 of the size, but it's very tasty. Also you should have lemonade, it's delicious with ice tea. Please do better, if you are going to charge $20 for salad it better be WORTH IT. read more

Once again the kitchen at Ramone's impresses my taste buds with the Mini Street Tacos - recommendation from a friend, thank you friend!! Every bite was worth the juicy mess it made. I loved the slightly spicy kick of the ahi tacos, and the creamy pairing of the sweet potatoes with the chorizo is delightful. This cafe is known for their coffee and baked goods. I love that they have iced coffee with coffee cubes. They have non dairy alternatives for you. They also have alot of drink options from teas to coffee. I love ordering an iced coffee with almond milk and hazelnut. They also have Sugar free syrups if you're trying to be healthier. The baked goods are always a hit. They have some vegan and GF cookies I believe. The cakes here are always so good. I loved the champagne with raspberry cake. I have ordered from their catering service for a large party. The meatballs were a hit. Their charcuterie boards are always amazing and very pretty. The baked goods are delicious too. If you're looking for lunch they do have some pre made sandwiches in their fridge section for a fast grab and go. Their breakfast burritos are really good too. The ambiance and seating is great. This is a warning to not go to this bakery. I've gone 3 times and every time the staff is rude and slow. The final straw was I ordered an over priced birthday cake for myself ($70) and they forgot to make it. Again, THEY FORGOT TO MAKE A $70 CAKE ORDERED 2 DAYS IN ADVANCE. When I went to pick it up, the staff was very unfriendly. Not just busy, but curt and outright rude. They looked for the cake for 15 minutes, making me late to work. Then they said come back later in the day. I went to work, came back and the "manager" had the social skills of slug. He counted out the cash to refund me and when I was walking away he said "don't forget your 50 cents". Really?! Rude staff, slow service, they forgot to make a birthday cake (they're a bakery?!!!) and all the guy said was don't forget your 50 cents. I got mad and he acted like I was crazy. Again. They took $70 and just decided to not do the order. And I'm rude because I entrusted them to make my cakefor a work birthday party and all my coworkers were not happy. BTW I made sure they all knew Ramones did the crime. What a horrible, horrible HORRIBLE thing to experience on my birthday. The thing that upsets me the most is I could have gone to SAFEWAY and paid a third of the price on a cake twice the size. I thought I was supporting a community business. What a mistake that was. There's no fire in the bellies of this establishment, they don't care about locals. Just rude and absolutely incompetent. Never will I go here again I'll just go to Safeway. And I suggest you do as well. Just shameful The front of the house has one role. Be friendly to the tops. And this hip, stupid bakery can't even manage that. A complete failure. read more
