I've seen some of the lower Yelp ratings and they mostly call out price, but this is very much a you get what you pay for situation. The quality of the food, the portion sizes (especially for this level of execution), and the overall intentionality behind the menu justify it in my opinion. Service was excellent. They squeezed me in last minute, and my waiter, Dionicio, handled my coconut allergy (not easy at a Dominican spot) with real care and ease. The bathrooms were another major issue. There was toilet paper on the floor and even period blood visible on the ground. It was unsanitary and honestly shocking. Cleanliness is the bare minimum for any establishment. The final bill came to $245, including an automatic $34 gratuity at the bar. Considering the service we received, this felt completely undeserved. There was no acknowledgment of the forgotten order and no attempt to make things right. As a final note, be cautious if you're wearing delicate or expensive clothing. The bar counter area has rough edges, and one of my friend's jerseys was snagged while we were sitting there. This was my first time here, and it will absolutely be my last. Between the poor service, mediocre food, lack of cleanliness, and high prices, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.
