It's a basement bar with a bit of a dive vibe, but it's hard to ignore the nautical, blue crab theme throughout. Turns out that one of the owners is a Marylander, which is cool to see reflected in the decor in a place in dc, even though it is next door. They have a happy hour and they have a great variety of drinks in general. It's bring-your-own-food (BYOF) and there are a bunch of delicious looking Asian spots nearby, including upstairs. It didn't start getting crowded until closer to 10, which, as I said, is surprising for this part of town to me. That aside, they got a bunch of board games like Trouble, Uno, Trivial Pursuit... the classics man! Oh right, the bar part. Their drinks are great. The staff are great. The specials are great. And they give you popcorn! And they have a whole little table with all the popcorn fixings if you don't want to eat it plain. You can literally bring in food from anywhere on top of that. Sports games have winners and losers.... This place is the loser! Awful, racist bar. Any POC should not attend/support this bar! A pair of "regular" couples harassed my friends here! In which "security" only asked my friends to leave. They didn't even start a fight. They were minding their business; enjoying a football game- my friend was clapping for the opposite team the Giants! Let me repeat clapping. Went to Franklin Hall yesterday for an opening party and was IMPRESSED. First off the space is beautiful; the bar extends almost the entirety of the large space, communal seating with an industrial flair, brick walls, and enough tvs to completely cover football Sundays come September. Next the beer list was extensive including everything from Miller Light to Wicked Weed. But what impressed me most was the food. Wings were awesome and came out quickly, I regret not trying the sausages before getting too full (wont make that mistake next time). The bartenders were phenomenal and able to keep orders coming while also having fun with everyone in the bar. Prices were very reasonable and they had a good selection of your standard bar food. Definitely will check this place out for other games.

I guess I expected better at the infamous DC Wharf, directly next to a concert venue. This is your…read morestandard quick eats pub. Didn't have time to try the drinks but ordered nachos. They were average but served the purpose. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating with a sufficient view of the Wharf boardwalk from the 2nd floor for peak people-watching. Would I return? Perhaps - they have trivia night which is always a fun time.
