Always phenomenal for any time of the day, but breakfast is our favorite! Coffee cup is never empty, and the food is never disappointing. Had biscuits and gravy done "Cloak and Dagger" style. ( never heard of this before) but basically it was two biscuits with white country gravy and two with brown gravy, both were excellent but I liked the brown gravy better. Cute little train converted to a diner. It is really well decorated and restored so that was fun. Something different. Came in on a Friday afternoon around 1:30 for a late breakfast. Had the standard eggs and browns meal. Eggs were cooked well but the hash browns were definitely burned, not black but very dark brown and crunchy. The bacon was also very over cooked. Biscuits were fine. Spouse had the Florentine omelette which he said was good. His biscuit was dry but he said it was fine. Waitress was not too friendly, seemed a bit irritated about something. Apparently they were closing early for a wedding so seemed rushed. I was not impressed at all so will try another location. read more

Frank knows how to make some breakfast! And hire a great staff. Warmly greeted, seated promptly at the bar, and everything was efficient in getting my order and food, which by the way was fantastic. Had the corned beef hash and eggs, and it was spot on, one of the best I've had. The corned beef was perfectly made and lots of it. The hash with it was fresh and sautéed perfectly. Hash browns were nice and crispy on the outside, yet tender on the inside. You can add gravy and/or sautéed onions, which I opted for the latter and they were fantastic - plump, caramelized, and the perfect pairing with the crispy hash browns. Eggs were cooked to a perfect over medium, just how I like'em. And they have nearly every kind of major hot sauce you desire. Bang up job Frank, from start to finish. Cool vibe too with being in the old train car and having the cooks right there in front of you. Has that classic diner feel, and old fashioned good service to go with it. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and good food. I'm usually not a fan of diner food but it exceeded my expectations. The hash browns were perfectly seasoned and crispy. And a unique feature, they give size options for most entrees which was very refreshing change to the typical oversized diner portions. The only negative thing is the wait. Awesome Eggs Benedict!!! They have 7 different styles. I had the Creole. Not use to having a Spicy Breakfast but it was great.

Ordered Franks through THEIR website to be delivered by Grub Hub. 1 hr later, called and spoke to Colton. He stated "Our website isn't updated and we now use "Chow Now" First thought was "WTF is Chow Now"? Using Coltons direct advise, we used Chow Now. Another hour later, we called to inquire on the whereabouts of our food. Colton, answered again and said the food is ready. Colton went on to say "Chow now is for pick up only, not delivery". Why the F would we order food for pick up through a 3rd party? Moral of the story, if there wasn't a specific color, Colton wouldn't know if he was commin or goin. Don't do business here if you're trying to Honor Inslees social distancing laws and if you do, speak slowly and use small words with Colton. read more

I went here when dining was still available in the summer. It was quite busy and I had to wait about 30 minutes before we could be seated. I had heard so much about this food and how great it was, I had to try it. I got the chicken fried steak breakfast and the fried green tomatoes. It was not good at all, I couldn't even eat the chicken fried steak, it had a bunch of those hard things in it, that make me gag. The hash browns are big and not crispy or tasty at all. It was all just much. The fried green tomatoes were ok I guess, but the sauce had visible oil in it, and a lot of it. So disappointing, I don't get all the great reviews unless maybe it was jsut a really bad day for them. read more

Our new favorite place! We just moved to Spokane and found this wonderful place nearby. First of all, it's in a train car. So we love that. The food? Wonderful! Breakfast is all fresh ingredients and they serve homemade jam with the toast or biscuits. You can get free onions and gravy with every order. Then we came in for dinner to try their fish & chips. Wonderful!!! Large portions, breading is combination of flour & panko. It was so flaky and good. The staff is amazing and friendly. We look forward to many more visits. read more

This is one of the favorite breakfast spots of my family that lives in Spokane. Breakfast is served all day, and at 1 PM on a Thursday, a couple of us were in the mood. Due to limited space, there's usually a wait, but we were greeted warmly and sat immediately. Excellent service continued through our entire experience as meals were delivered in a timely manner and our server kept up with all of our table's needs. After reviewing the menu, I ordered Frank's breakfast combo which included 8 dollar sized pancakes, my choice of 2 jumbo sized sausage links vs. bacon, 2 eggs, and my choice of biscuits vs. toast. Our server thoroughly reviewed all of our choices for the meal and offered many tempting additions that none of us opted for. I was worried that I was not going to get enough food for the $13.75 price, but I was sorely mistaken. There was plenty of food and and I was pleased with taste, especially the fluffy dollar pancakes. Both the hash browns and the biscuits had crispy exteriors and warm, fresh interiors. There was no freezer burn anywhere near our table, nor was there any remnants of my meal left on the table as I polished everything off. Also ordered from our group was the Conductor's Derailer ($15) and a BLT. For breakfast, along with the traditional favorites, there are benedict, omelette, and griddle sections. The other side of the menu has all the lunch and dinner options which includes a full selection of burgers, sandwiches, and dinners. I'll have to try some of these entrees after I make my way through more of the breakfast menu. Frank's Diner is for anyone that can eat breakfast at any time of the day and likes classic American food. The atmosphere is unique and nostalgic which can attract kids and adults alike. If diner food could be elevated somewhere between fine dining and 'greasy spoon' awesome comfort food, Franks has done it. This is not your typical diner nor what you would expect of diner food. The food here is well prepared, delicious, and everything and more than you would expect to find in a diner - no wonder it is a local favorite! This place is definitely worth stopping in to if you're in the north Spokane Washington area...the entire menu looks amazing and they are sure to have something for everybody. I had a jalapeno burger with an egg on it, my wife had a Reuben sandwich. As already stated, this is definitely not your average greasy diner whatsoever. Everything is fresh and incredibly tasty... even the hash browns were perfectly done. I actually do not even care for hash browns very much based on past experiences, however these were finely chopped and the perfect balance of not too dry and not too sticky. The burger bun was very light and delicate, bacon fresh and thick, and the meat was cooked exactly how I ordered it. One 'pet peeve' I have when ordering an egg on a burger (or sandwich is that is is prepared correctly (i.e. it actually has a runny yolk) - they nail it! Yum!! The Reuben sandwich was also very tasty, and everything seemed to be made fresh from scratch right down to the bread. It is no wonder their food has won awards - both dishes were a hit for sure!
