Here the other night while on vacation. Hubby and I arrived when the restaurant just opened. Greeted nicely. Sat quickly. Drink order taken. Menu has good selection. We are vegetarian so dining out does have its challenges in the Keys. Frank's was recommended so we decided to try it. I had fettuccine Alfredo and hubby penne with pink vodka sauce. Both very good. Had bread and salads. Reasonable prices. Specials on wall that were a little more upscale. Environment ok....maybe not quite the Italian restaurant you'd expect, but it's the Keys. read more

Must of gotten a bad piece of fish because three out of six of us got sick that night. Too bad because it was one of our favorite places in marathon. I'm sure we will give it another chance the next time we visit the area. read more

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but go on in, this place is a gem! Great food, fast and friendly service, I definitely recommend it. We tried the veal parmigiana, chicken fettuccine alfredo, linguini with clams, and eggplant parmigiana and were very happy with them all. House made cheesecake at the end was to die for. read more

If you have a craving for some great Italian Frank's is the place. Fresh prepared plate at a time out of a very modest kitchen. Staff is well oiled machine and is quick to respond. Anything in the past Frank has resolved he is on top of the action. The only item that takes a beating at Frank's is the stove top it gets played on hard. This is a must stop...... We stopped by franks after reading reviews on yelp and we were definitely not disappointed. They start you off with a delicious bread. We both ordered salads which were really good but the star of the show was the lobster bisque. It was amazing. We ordered spaghetti and meatballs and chicken cordon bleu. Both were really good. The meatballs were really good. Then we had a cannoli for dessert. If anything order the lobster bisque. It's amazing. read more

Showed up and we lucked out that a reservation had canceled. The staff was seasoned and generous! Made me and my family feel welcomed. The food was fantastic! Prices were slightly high but portions were large. Would recommend to go back again! read more

Five star service! Food is cheap and good. We like the ceaser salad with blackened fish, lasagna is good too.

When you are craving Italian this is the place to go. Always packed so call ahead to get a reservation. See if they have the risotto. Its not on the menu, but they can usually make it. Best I've ever had. read more

Excellent food, wine and service. The Veal Francaise as is very tasty, as is the steak and Veal Piccata, which were enjoyed by other members of our group. The chef met us at the end of the meal. They've been doing this for years and certainly know what they are doing! For Italian cuisine on the Keys, this is where you want to eat. read more

Great "local" find in Marathon. We were sent there on a recommendation from our boat Capt as somewhere locals go to eat good food. It's tucked in a little strip mall and nothing fancy but the food is really good and reasonably priced for the keys. The portions are good and the seafood was excellent. The chef will also prepare your catch for you. read more

Our vacation in the Keys. On a Tuesday we walked into Franks Grill expecting a nice dinner, and a great evening. The hostess was very rude, evidently we should have called ahead. She slammed menus down on a table in the center of the room and stomped off. I dislike sitting in this type of location but thought the many empty tables around the edges must be reserved. Guess what? No one arrived to sit at the majority of those empty tables. The attitude of our hostess left us sour and nervous about the rest of our dinner. The rest of the wait staff were very pleasant. The food was mediocre. I do not recommend this place. In fact, we have yet to find a restaurant here to be excited about. My advice.... Rent a room with a kitchen. read more

After too many fish and fry choices, we were excited for something a little different on Marathon, so we found this spot. The servers are awesome, and when it's slow, Frank went out of his way to say hello to us. Some good, basic vegetarian options with fresh ingredients, but nothing to write home about. The best restaurant in Marathon. I have celiac disease and require totally gluten free meals. Franks never disappoints! Their offerings, both traditional and gluten free are enough to bring tears to your eyes with every bite. Make sure to make reservations a few days ahead of time. This place is so good that you cannot just walk in and eat and there reservations fill up quick. I swear, you'll be as happy as we are from the time you enter their doors till the time you leave. read more

The food here is delicious! It has a vast menu with generous portions! I ordered Ziti with fresh tomatoes and basil, and my husband had chicken Alfredo. We also tried the tiramisu. Everything from the warm/hot bread and dinner salads to the entrees were all very good. This place was delicious! A small place with amazing food. We went on a Thursday evening with a party of six. Every single person in our party was pleased with their food! Frank's Grill had better food and at a much better price than any of the other places we've been to in the Keys. The service was great! Without a doubt one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. We went here twice in one week because it was so good! I love the style and tradition--there were two cooks in the kitchen and they deserve a medal or something. The meal starts with fresh bread, roasted garlic and oil available which was unique. They switch up the specials based on what's available, and the choices were fresh. My husband loved the fried calamari, red snapper, lobster bisque, and a fish battered in egg that he raved about. Even their house Italian salad dressing was amazing! All the details were there for an excellent meal. I would pay their prices any day of the week--the food is worth it. Entrees were typically $15-$25. Our baby was able to eat a lot of their food so I would say it's family friendly as well. read more

Restaurant is VERY small so be prepared. Food was ok but not done as well as it could have been. Husband got veal parmesan and was extremely disappointed. Mostly soggy bread and little meat plus no flavor. Ziti (substituted spaghetti) with fresh tomato and basil was served with a tomato sauce (which might have had fresh tomato and basil in it) instead of just those two items. Was good but not what expected. Dessert was good but then tiramisu is usually ok. Nothing special. Not a bad restaurant and again better than the touristy places with paper palates and plastic utensils. Of the four restaurants we have been to this trip I would say it rated fourth. read more

Frank's Restaurant is a diamond in the rough. It's so rare to find authentically cooked Italian food these days. Our dinner was absolutely delicious and our waiter Joe, was fantastic. The Caesar salad dressing is homemade and divine and is right up there with the delicious homemade Italian salad dressing - yes we ate both. The escargot we had as our first course was so fabulously full of garlic and scallions and butter that we felt compelled to dip the homemade warm bread into what remained of the sauce. My wife had the snapper piccata and I had the snapper français. Both were spot on perfect. For my français there was just the right amount of lemon, butter and wine, yummy. I would be remiss if I didn't point out that the homemade marinara sauce was spectacularly devine. Because we obviously had not eaten enough after all that, we decided to bring home a cannoli and tiramisu - absolutely delicious, both of them. OMG! Hats off to this fabulous restaurant! Wouldn't expect good Italian in the keys. Great portions and flavor. Had a really good eggplant parmigiana with a side of angel hair and marinara. Incredibly friendly and informative waitress who would give an honest opinion on any other restaurant. Could have gotten five stars with a better location and nicer decoration. We come here every year and look forward to our meals here! Everything on the menu is fantastic- the escargot is amazing! The service is always great and friendly, frank (the owner) does a great job and comes out of the kitchen most times and says hello and thanks everyone and makes sure the guests are enjoying their meals. I don't think I've ever had such amazing food! On a trip to Marathon my boyfriend and I separated from my parents to have a date night. From the bread, to the ravioli, to the chicken parmigiana we were absolutely thrilled. Our waiter was attentive and kind. One tip would be to MAKE A RESERVATION! We did and got a table inside. After dinner we called my parents and told them to come and have a date at the restaurant. They got stuck outside because they didn't make a reservation but my mom came home saying she had the best white clam sauce of her life. Absolutely love and will definitely visit again! read more

Service was okay, felt pressured to leave most of the time and when we arrived to an empty restaurant they gave an option of two of the tables in the whole building. Love love loved this restaurant! We stopped here on our way to Key West for lunch. The food was amazing! Some of the best Italian food I've ever eaten. My dad wanted Fish and Chips and they graciously agreed to make it for him even though it was not on the menu. We also had the eggplant parm, spaghetti with meatballs, tuna sandwich and lobster bisque. We loved everything that was served to us and the customer service was top notch. read more
