This was my first take out order from here in a long time. I always enjoyed their eggplant rollatini but this time is was bready and sweet. Odd tasting.. the salad it came with had cucumbers on it that were dry as if they had been sitting around for days in the fridge cut up. The garlic bread was soggy. On a good note, my son ordered a small pie and he ate the whole thing saying it was very good. Overall I was disappointed. Put a pre order in for the Superbowl last night, the food arrived within minutes of the estimated delivery, everything was perfect (tons of random sides / sauces etc). Was having issues with many places in the area fulfilling the order and I had never ordered from Frank's but I gave them a shot and I'm so glad that I did. Amazing food, incredible customer service. My new favorite pizza place! Tried it for the first time and was pleasantly surprised.. we just ordered a large pie and an antipasto salad, and it was delicious!! The pizza crust was crispy and definitely one of the better pies in the area. The salad was almost too pretty to eat...almost!! The fresh basil and mozzarella was a nice touch. Ordered a cheese pizza and salad. Arrive about 30 min late and wasnt hot, but best pizza I've had in the area. Probably a lot of delivery orders so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Cooked well, not chewy or rubbery. Great tang and herbs in the sauce. Interesting cheese combo. Salad was good as well. Frank's is great when you are dining in....not take out. The food always is a little soggy and the cheese on the pizza is on the box and not the crust. Once I ordered a side of grilled chicken to go and I could tell it was made hours ago by hardness of it. I never have this problem dining in though! I just had the worst meal imaginable from Pompton Lakes, a baby spinach salad with really old large spinach. Chicken Alfedo which always before had broccoli and peas came with no broccoli or peas and barely any sauce and a cut up piece of dried up grilled chicken. This restaurant used to be good but is really going downhill, what used to be consistently good is now pretty much consistently lousy. Worst service of my life! The chick on the phone had me repeat everything 3 times right Stromboli with ham and pepperoni, calzone with ham and cheese,and rice ball. The only thing that turned out right was the rice ball because all they do is put it in the oven after it sitting out all day. Then it took over an hour to get my food. Instead of getting the Stromboli and calzone I got a calzone with pepperoni and ham. Then I called the driver and he said hill call his boss. Ordered tonight after not ordering from Franks for years because last time our dinner was so burnt it was black. Well tonights experience confirmed our reasons for not ordering. After waiting well over an hour our dinner was delivered by a very smug young man telling me he was busy, busy, busy. The wings were dry on a wilted bed of lettuce. It's pretty bad if you can't make decent wings. It was obvious the pizza had been in the car for a while. Wasn't hot and slid to one side of the box. When this place opened five or so years ago, it was terrific. An Italian restaurant with pasta dressed with walnuts and orange zest as well as American Italian classics. The pizza was pretty good with a bit of a zing to the sauce, and not over cheesed like so many places. But it has gone downhill simply by not paying attention anymore to the details. I had a pasta with Bolognese sauce served literally over pasta drowning in it's cooking water. Is it that difficult to drain the pasta? The Formica tables and fluorescent lighting is wearing badly. While there are items on the menu that are very good, there are simply too many that are just okay. I usually don't try new places cause you never know what you're gonna get, but I decided to give Frank's a shot. Sadly, I was very disappointed. First off they were late with the delivery. Second I had ordered the cheesestake wrap... It wasn't in a wrap, and it had no onions, peppers, or mushrooms which it said on the menu it had and the fried Oreos I also ordered were very soggy. When I called to tell them..they hung up on me after they told me they would be "right back" and when I called back to complain about yet another thing they did not seem to care at all that the order was messed up or that I was clearly upset. I usually don't make a big deal when a place messes up because I know I'm not their only customer, but they did not seem to care at all. I've come here several times with family and my mom, aunt, and I came here for lunch today. I cannot say anything but the fact that my experience here has always been wonderful. I hear the pizza is not very good, but I suspect that it's just standard and actually pretty ok. It can't be too bad, because the extensive Italian menu is INCREDIBLE. They offer many Italian dishes and their lunch specials were the perfect portions, tasted great, and were very well priced. The mussels in red sauce were out of this world, as I would expect from a respected Italian restaurant. The pasta and sauce was fresh and al dente. Our waitress was attentive and friendly and kept the wonderful hot bread coming. This little place tops most mainstream Italian chain restaurants like Olive Garden and Bertucci's. Food was delicious and our server was great! However the experience was completely ruined when I received my credit card slip back for signing and $3 was added to the bill. The manager brought me the slip to sign and when I questioned it he said the server forgot to add an iced tea. Fair enough, we did use a coupon and had a large party and were there for about 2 hours. He then proceeded to stand there and "hurry us" while we packed up 7 children ages 5 and under. I told him we would be a few minutes and he said he had a party of 9 waiting. So many selections of pizza varieties available right on the counter. My favorite is the buffalo chicken slices. A couple times they didn't have it ready but I asked for the accoutrements to be added on top of a plain slice. It's cheesier and heavier but just as good! Another favorite of mine here is a very very special wrap that they prepare. I don't even know if it's on the menu but it has breaded eggplant slices, slices of red onion, roasted red pepper, fresh mozzarella, arugula, and balsamic (with additional balsamic on the side).
