We came here a couple weeks ago based on recommendations from others. Frank's is a good 40 minute drive for us, so we were hoping it was worth the drive. We stuck with a basic pepperoni pizza...and some potato skins on the side. The potato skins were fine, but the pizza was excellent! Our waitress was very nice and the owner even came out to say hello (I'm in a Chicago area pizza Facebook group and they're very aware of them). While Frank's is a small little place in a mostly residential area, it's well worth the drive for some really tasty pizza! read more

Old school 60s pizza joint. Great tavern style thin crust. Crist is crisp, sauce is well balanced and flavorful with basil, garlic, etc. The sausage is made in house and one of the calling cards which makes this place stand out. With the sausage and cheese it comes in a bit greasy but it is pizza after all. And as is a chicago original it is delivered in a classic paper bag hot n fresh. read more

GREAT PIZZA!!!! Old school atmosphere, lots of dark old wood paneling, booths and a fabulous neon sign outside. Verily, it was the coolness of that neon sign that lured us in. First BYOB. YES. Just great. They are taking reservations right now, and this is important. Their staff is small, and as the owner let me know, they are concerned about having enough coverage to take care of customers dining. So, call for a rez. No outdoor area, but beginning limited indoor dining. Lively delivery/pickup business as well - there is always that option. The pizza......PIPING HOT, chewy cheese. The crust is perfect. Great array of toppings evenly placed. The sauce - a lot of places use crappy sauce that is sweet. Franks sauce is superb. SUPERB. I snagged a piece of sausage from another pizza at our table and MON DIEU, they make their own sausage, and it is delicious. This pizza passed the all-important "next day" test - does it taste good the next day, for breakfast, after being in the refrigerator in a styrofoam container all night? I am happy to report that yes. Yes, this pizza passed that test with flying colors. SO GOOD. Friendly staff, wonderful gentleman owner and just an all around great joint that really cares about it's delicious pizza product. I'm serious about pizza, and this pizza is really, really good. You can't go wrong with Frank's! Support small/family business. Last time I was there Frank himself came by to check my party and I were ok. Old School pizza joint on the far west end of Belmont... been in business since 1953! Stepping inside they have booths on each side of the restaurant complete with Elvis pictures and other nostalgia. The old neon sign out front is worth the drive alone.. they sure don't make 'em like they used to! It was my first time here so I ordered a Sausage & Mushroom well done. The pizza was great... super thin cracker crust & great sauce (kinda sweet) with fresh mushrooms and great sausage is definitely the old school way. Sausage is made in house and the ingredients were not skimpy in the least bit. Served in a paper bag and cooked a perfect well done made this joint jump into my top 5 in the Chicagoland area! Frank's Pizzeria has become my go-to Chicago Tavern-style pizza! I walked in for the first time and the smell of oregano filled my nose, and the sounds of Frank Sinatra filled my ears! The crust is flavorful and crispy, the sausage is world class, and the sauce is a touch sweet with a good balance of herbs. Frank's still uses the secret ingredient they've used since 1952: love! I talked with Dennis, the owner, and he told me they make their dough, sauce, AND sausage fresh in-house every day! My dad went here as a teenager in the late 1950s and early 1960s. I took him back after all these years. We got the sausage pizza fresh out of the oven. Maybe I was hungry but this definitely ranks as one of the tops in thin cracker crust pizzas. Ranks right there with Joe's Italian Village in Palos Heights, in my opinion. The pizza was so good and hot that my hard palate got a blister and the mucous-membrane tissue was hanging loose in my mouth. Total old school vibe inside. The decor is from 1973 and in mint condition. Franks has great pizza and its a hidden gem. The pizza is true chicago thin crust tavern style. I like the old school vibes here but would rather get this one for takeout. The sauce is what makes this pizza incredible. The sausage is a sweet and savory which makes the topping a must get on at least half your pizza. The only ding I would give this pizza is that the crust is a bit soggy but for me it doesn't take away any of the 5/5 stars. If it was more of a cracker crust, it would trump Vito and Nicks on the south side, as they are both similar in style and taste. read more

Such a great dinner experience- Barb and Sharon were incredible. We felt like family by the end of our meal. We had two toddlers with us and despite them spilling drinks and food, they never made us feel uncomfortable... instead came to help, mop up, and offered humor and top notch customer service throughout our entire visit. I just ordered pizza from this place last night for the very first time. I'm actually on a diet but I had/have a massive pizza craving and decided to give this place a try. I've always felt like pizza that's delivered in the old school pizza bag is especially delicious for some reason lol. Anyway, the pizza took close to 2 hours to get to my house and I'm 30 minutes away... Better believe I was prepared to give an awful review but gosh, the pizza was amazing! I just ordered a thin plain cheese pizza. I just knew it was going to be cold but it was still hot, delightfully thin with the perfect amount of cheese, meaning not too much. Most pizza places will just pile on the cheese and it's uncomfortably filling after 2 slices. But after eating almost half of it, I wasn't full which is good, I don't like to feel full. The bread and crust is very tasty. Honestly, I've been dreaming about this place now. So thanks for not proving me wrong in regards to pizza being delivered in a bag lol. My pizza fix is coming from Frank's for as long as I'm in the area, at least. Hehe. read more

What an amazing place that I found especially from people giving this place a bad review over what, I don't know but Frank's Pizzeria has the best pizza in the Chicago!! I've spoken to all the staff plus Frank himself and they're all great people and very friendly. This my 4th time coming back to Frank's because all I can say it's finger licking delicious!!! I haven't had not one bad bite, but every time I finish my pizza I think about when will be my next one. I ordered online, no problem, I called in and spoken with both Gals and they're both very nice on the phone, and it's lovely when they remember my name. This is my favorite pizza spots to go to. Plus I noticed it's very packed inside on the weekends so that its self says a lot. I can in yesterday a little too early and noticed how the staff interacts with there customers, especially Frank himself, very nice man. I love how cozy it looks inside, old school pictures hung up, the red & white checker table cloth, it might be small but it's what I would expect 35 years ago when I started going to pizza places with my family and those are all gone but a few like Franks is still around. OK, I've driven past this place several times and it was the old school neon sign that beckoned me to check it out. It's a little further than I'd normally travel to take a pizza home, but at 8PM on fairly quiet Sunday night, I felt certain that I'd still have a warm-hot pizza when I got home, and I was right. Ordered a large sausage pizza over the phone; 30 minute ETA and that proved to be right. Walked in - it's a 12-15 table restaurant that is both warm and cold decor wise. Some pictures/photos on the wall, Sinatra like music, but otherwise a pretty plain place. A corner booth seemed to be serving as an office - nobody was in the place when I was there. Within 5 minutes of my arrival, the pizza came out. Packed in a traditional pizza bag, loved it as there aren't too many places still serving take out pizza like that. I was eager to get home. And when I arrived at my house, I discovered a pizza that was reminiscent of the pizza's that my dad and I would pick up and bring home when I was a kid. Thin crust, slightly sweet sauce, good sized pieces of homemade Italian sausage spread on top. The cheese was cooked slightly longer than what I prefer, but was still pretty good. Hope to go back for a dinner there sometime; maybe take advantage of the BYOB option. We'll see! read more

Franks is consistent, affordable and delicious pizza and Italian food. I've had their pizza a few times and it's very good, but my favorite options here are the perch dinner and the baked manicotti. Both are excellent and will come still hot if you order for delivery, which seems to be awfully difficult for a lot of places to manage.
