This place tried to scam me. I called in an order for the Fish Trio which said it was $32.95. When I went to pick it up, they said it was $54.95. I showed them on there website that it was $32.95. They had to call the owner, Frank, who said he can't honor the price. I had a $20 credit for the Chinese Chicken salad I order last week and had to return it because it was soggy. They had to call Frank to get permission to give me my money back. If you ordered by phone or viewed online and were quoted a price without mention of fees, that should be the final total. Charging more at pickup without prior disclosure is a form of deceptive advertising, which is illegal under both SB478 and California's Unfair Competition Law . You may be entitled to legal remedies: You can demand the advertised price. You could file a complaint with the California Attorney General or local district attorney. I visited Frank's Weiler's Deli while driving around for food. I was expecting a small local sandwich shop form the outside and was surprised to see a restaurant equipped with seating and a large menu. On a weekday afternoon, it was PACKED, and I wasn't quite noticed for a few minutes. I was in a rush and decided to order takeout. I was told that my food would be done in about 5 minutes, but realistically I spent about 15 minutes waiting for my food. I ordered a Woodland Hills Classic since it seemed like a basic sandwich, and reluctantly paid about $25 in total. I got my food and rushed out to enjoy it, and upon opening it wasn't sure whether to feel amazed or surprised at the amount. The sandwich was served on a classic square bread, and the bread tasted good. All of the main ingredients (tuna, bacon, avocado, tomato) were fresh, and the Muenster cheese was also a good addition. I have to admit the fries were on the saltier side, and I wish they would have given a little more. Overall, I think the food was great, but service was lacking. The chicken broth was similar to Cambells canned soup. The pastrami sandwich was cute. Made on mini rye bread so you get two quarters of a sandwich that looks like a small whole sandwich. Been waiting and wanting good deli for days so the blushing bride made it happen. But on first glance I noticed that the fries were closer to black than golden brown or orange. Black and bitter. The sandwich was just okay. The bread was good, as was the pastrami but the corned beef was both tough and tasteless. What a disappointment. My blushing bride had an omelette and commented that it was not like usual; tough. To quote my blushing bride, "it was too expensive to not have been perfect." We used to be regulars at this place, going there every Saturday. Their food is good and their service is decent. However, there's this one busboy who has continued to be rude to us. He ignores us, hasn't brought water when we asked, coffee isn't topped up. It just makes for an unpleasant start to the weekend so we found another place. I had a craving for a delicious and big sandwich so I called up a friend and we decided that, after years of driving by, it was time to check out Weiler's. We're both so glad that we did. We came right before the normal dinner time so we basically had the entire parking lot to ourselves. By the time we left a few hours later, we had sat through essentially the entire rush. Thankfully the employees never pressured us to rush through our meals and we had a wonderful time. Speaking of employees, the entire wait staff was surpurb. They were welcoming and friendly from the moment we walked in to the second we left & noticed the refrigerator stocked with Cel-Ray and decided to get some for the road. They were a delight and even if the food wasn't good, I'd be back just for them. But, that's just the thing. the food was amazing. As you would expect, the portion sizes were huge. I easily had enough to fill me up for dinner and have enough leftovers for lunch the next day. The sandwich was packed to the brim of deliciously flavored meet, the Russian Dressing was just the right amount, and the coleslaw had just the right amount of crunch to it. I'm not usually a sweet potato fry fan, but the ones they had here could be the best I have ever had. Weiler's became my go to deli place after just 1 bite. I decided to opt for the BLTA on sourdough (instead of rye) with a side of sweet potato fries. The sandwich was pretty large. Crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, tomato and no skimping on the amount of avocado. The side of fries was huge! The sweet potato fries were crisp, tasty and seasoned well. Plenty of friendly service and a ton of faux-leather booths available, this diner offers fresh options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The crowd is made of plenty of regulars, including the senior citizen crowd coming in for breakfast all day or the early bird special. Adding a few specifics, none of which are good: Onion rings are listed as battered on GrubHub - they are not, they are breaded (hard no - this should be a crime). I believe they deep fry their bacon, at least some of the time. This is a problem in sandwiches, because deep fried bacon is never anything close to flat. A BLT will not assemble well with scrunched up bacon and may fall apart (mine certainly did, today). Special requests (bread type, use salt, extra-crispy fries, etc.) continue to have roughly a 60% chance of being ignored. Skip the chocolate cake (almost the same price as Brent's, 1/4 the size). Damn good burger though. Seriously - one of the best burgers out there, imho. The primary reason I keep going back. read more

I flew from northern California to see family. When I asked the hotel for the best casual dining around, they recommended this place! Let me tell you, it did not disappoint!!! I couldn't make a choice and ended up ordering half the menu . The waffles were perfect. The outside was crispy and the inside soft and delicious. The eggs Benedict was literally the best I've ever had!! Someone out there knows how to make the creamiest, yummiest hollandaise sauce!!! And don't get me started on the perfection of the omelette with an abundance of fresh vegetables. To end this perfect meal, we ordered a slice of the famous cheesecake. New York has nothing on this gem!! You better believe the next time I'm in the area, I'm running, not walking to this place. The staff was beyond kind and the service was extraordinary. I've only had two things here: the breakfast burrito and the cheesecake. Both were phenomenal! The breakfast burrito can be made vegetarian and, even without the meat, is still a hefty portion size. It comes with a generous side of breakfast potatoes. It's a little on the pricier side for a breakfast burrito (~$15) but it is tasty and very filling. You can select a whole wheat tortilla and (though they didn't have it in stock last time I ordered) they offer a beyond meat addition. The cheesecake is WOW! So delicious, perfect New York style with a creamy yet dense texture. The crust is perfectly crunch, buttery, sweet graham cracker. The price is actually fairly reasonable (I think ~$6). Just looking for a little midday treat? Definitely come here. They also have black and white cookies, among other treats. read more

I've been coming to Frank Weiler's Deli for a few years to enjoy the Lox appetizer with a sesame bagel. The ambiance was dampened by the event of today. The service was excellent. However the food became super expensive. Let me explain. Today 10/19/24 I was shocked to see the lox portion cut in half (about 3 oz. There wasn't enough lox to cover both halves of the bagel. When I asked what happened, I was informed that the appetizer portion was reduced, but not the price ($20.95). When I asked for an additional separate portion, I was informed the cost is $11.95. This additional portion was about the same weight (3 oz) as the appetizer. For $35.29 - which includes tax, you get 6 oz . of lox with a bagel. Talk about greedy inflation, the food is not worth the money. I do not recommend the lox appetizer anymore. You get better value ordering two separate additional portions and a separate bagel for less money. Better yet, don't buy any lox products at this restaurant. They have much better value entrees on the menu. I am so disappointed with this pricing change. One should simply raise the price for the entree while maintaining the satisfactory portion, not to cut back on the portion. I will never order the lox appetizer again. More importantly I am considering avoiding the drive from Thousand Oaks to Frank Weiler's Deli in the future. Go find some other math wizard to overcharge...not me. Never been here nor have I heard of this place but my coworker was raving about it and decided to Uber eats for lunch from here. Took a look at their menu and instantly knew I'd love it. I love breakfast but I'm never feeling it first thing in the morning so I tend to eat it later in the day. I was very happy to see that they serve breakfast all day! Went for the French toast with scrambled eggs and it was probably one of the best I've had. Super basic but the syrup they have really makes it. It's not super runny but thick enough to not soak up your French toast and make it all soggy. The eggs were heavenly and the serving was a lot! I even had some leftover for later. Who would have thought that one of the best delis in the valley is located in a half empty strip mall away from the crowds and traffic, tucked into a corner in an infamous area. It's a nice restaurant, pretty modern and quaint but also small. Our waitress was friendly and brought everything quick. I went ahead and ordered a pastrami reuben, added grilled onions, a side of curly fries and cream soda. They definitely stack up the meat on this sandwich! The bread is nicely toasted, crispy and soft in the center. It held up so well with everything. The pastrami is so tender, juicy, and flavorful with a nice kick. The dressing is thick and creamy, with a sharpness from the relish. So much gooey cheese with every bite. Soft sweet onions. Good amount of sauerkraut not to overpower the rest of the sandwich. The curly fries are also all crispy and nicely seasoned. The ranch they serve is perfect for it. The table started with pickles and though they were good, I wish they were crunchier.
