Nice nostalgic diner in downtown Pepperell. Had the Marilyn Monroe omelette that was tasty with the hash browns and choice of raisin toast. My wife had their daily special of a fruit bowl and breakfast sandwich. Service was attentive and coffee was refilled without our asking. Stopped here on a sunny Sunday along the rail trail for a late breakfast and were completely blown away by the food. Simple, fresh and abundant. The chicken and waffles were simply amazing- we all couldn't keep our hands off of them. Next time we'll just order one for the table so my son doesn't get shorted. We typically don't drive out of our way for food, but this place is now on our list to change our ways. read more

The best pancakes in the area!! I've been on a quest to find great pancakes, and it's finally over. The pancakes at Breen's Diner are the best, they're light, fluffy, and have a slight sense of buttermilk. The pancakes are quite large and I only needed to order one. Real maple syrup is an option (and since this is New England, IMO it's the only option). The rest of the meal is just as good. I had over-easy eggs, bacon, milk, and coffee. The coffee is very good, the large milk was plenty large, and the bacon is excellent. I think they actually serve one too many slices, if that's even a possible. The service is excellent with a very friendly wait staff. The inside of the diner is retro 50's and very inviting. If I could offer one suggestion to Breen's: offer a blueberry pancake with real blueberries cooked in with the pancake. If you're a pancake lover, your search is over for a wonderful pancake. read more

We have been back several times and the experience has not changed. This place is awful. Inedible! I ordered the Irish Benny. Poached eggs came hard boiled and tasted like vinegar. English muffin tasted funny. Corned beef hash was just abysmal. Had one bite of each and lost my appetite. Way overpriced for $50 for family of four for breakfast. This is the fourth owner we have seen take this place over. We can't wait for the fifth to try it again. Maybe one of these times it will be good. read more

We used to go here every weekend because our original place changed their food since covid we come just for the home fries alone. They used to be cut up small and nice and soft and tender. Now they give you big chunks of potatoes that are a bit dryer than they normally are. I wish they would go back to how they used to make them. read more

Excellent food! Good coffee, Fluffy pancakes, omelet cooked to perfection, what more could you ask for? Service! Servers were friendly, then it seemed our waitress dropped off the face of the earth. Waited for a coffee refill then finally had to ask another server. No one ever asked if we wanted more water, coffee , syrup, or if we needed anything else. This is a great place. Everything is fantastic. That includes the service.

When I walked in I was happy to see that the new owners repaired and "updated" the dining room. When it was The Pepperell Spa I always felt it was just clean enough to pass and inspection, but not clean enough to be proud of. Maybe it's just the fresh paint, but it looks nice. We will have to see how it stands up against time. We have visited twice since it first opened. The first time I order the has omelette and wife ordered the egg nog pancake special. The pancake was great. It was fluffy and light but at the same time it certainly was a substantial breakfast. The has omelette was so-so. The hash I feel was canned. I was looking for something more of a homemade style. The eggs were done perfect and the potatoes were great as well The second time, wife ordered a raspberry pancake special. Same great pancake but the raspberry part was just a preserves topping. Still not bad. I went with the ham and cheese omelette this time and was much happier. Eggs perfect, potatoes perfect, and toast perfect. The coffee seems to be an upgrade as well. It's a little light on the roast but I would take that over the sludge that used to be served here. Mugs are a little larger I feel like too so coffee addicts like myself get more on the pour. Service was great. Our waitress came to take our order but was then called away to run an order. She was very apologetic and came right back. Understandable when there was only a few servers and several customers. She was very attentive and filled coffee fast. She checked in with us a couple of times and did not rush us out when the bill came. I think the service is was put this at a 4 star for me. Yes, it is a little more expensive than a typical diner but if the place stays clean I will be happy to pay the extra few bucks on breakfast. Overall I think this is a great option for an area breakfast. Get on that homemade hash and I will have no problem bringing this to a 5 star. read more

You cannot beat the Breen's Diner experience. This is a local family owed and operated businesses with some truly exceptional staff. The food comes out in generous proportions and it's ALWAYS delicious! They have flavored and regular coffee, hot and iced, and they're not afraid to brew you a fresh pot. They serve breakfast all day and lunch everyday except Sunday. Right now they are not seating inside innorder to keep their community safe, but they've added delivery and curbside pick up. I took the family here for breakfast last sunday. We hadn't been here for a few months but the menu had changed and the prices have increased by 30%. The food is still good but 50.00 for myself, wife, 5 year old and 9 year old is outrageous. The waitress was inattentive and showed up with the bill. We had to ask for others for a few things. This is a delightful, retro diner. The menu has some things you would expect in a diner and somethings you would not. My wife loved the fish sandwich. I had the veggie melt and thought it was just a touch bland but I cleared my plate so this was a small issue. The staff was attentive and polite! read more

Excellent food. The homemade hash was very good. I got a hash and cheese omelette, my husband got the big bopper which was eggs and French toast, my daughter got chocolate chip pancakes which were huge. The prices were very fair for the portion sizes which were generous. We went on Saturday morning which was fairly busy but not crazy. There was no wait. Although the food came out quickly, the waitress never refilled our coffee, never brought butter or syrup for our pancakes, never checked back on us. read more

Don't read this, JUST GO... I cannot begin to say how much I love this diner. It's local, has great service, and the food is phenomenal. Been there 5 times over the past month and will now call it my go-to diner. The Irish Benedict is to freaking live for. The atmosphere is a entertaining 50's/60's diner feel that makes dining all the more entertaining. We've been here several times since it's opened and each experience has gotten better! When they first opened it was a little slow, even when not crowded, but great food and staff, so we returned! The redone, and clean, interior is a far cry better than what was once there. The owner was there, cooking in the kitchen and came around to check in on us which I thought was a nice. touch. I had a grilled cheese and a cup of seafood chowder with a coffee and a water. I think our server was a little tired given the time of our visit being closer to closing time, she didn't seem too excited to have to wait on us. Notwithstanding that, we enjoyed our food and the environment even though the prices were high, but matching the much less desirable option down the street. I would go back here! read more
