I did not get an entrée not because I didn't want one, but I was not sure which one to pick so I just got the arcane beef ball that was wonderful!! Got take out. It was nice and hot when I got home. I got the fried eggplant which tasted great, but for the price it was not worth it. I got the chicken marsala for my entree. It a strong smell of wine and yet no flavor. It was watery and the chicken was tasteless as well. Sadly, it was not a good take out experience. read more

Very disappointed in our meal. Husband ordered seafood arancine & had to send back because it was cold. Bread loaf was also cold. I ordered spaghetti & meatballs & the sauce looked like tomato juice poured over pasta. It didn't even coat pasta. Service was good but food makes us not want to go back. read more

We went for dinner and it was beyond our expectations. We started with the garlic bread and it's so good! The garlic is roasted perfectly and I really like it. My husband ordered the special of the day, steak with mashed potatoes, he didn't leave a trace. I ordered the salmon salad with mandarins and caramelized pecans, chef's kiss. It has been years since I have been here. The bread was good as always but they did not put much of the oil. The so called seafood medley was lacking THE SEAFOOD. The lobster and crap was missing. So much for the Seafood. My shrinp scampi was shrimp with shrimp floating around in sauce and a few pieces of pasta. For the money you pay, It was not worth the trip to eat there. I not sure what has happen to Little Village but very disappointing. I will not revisit. read more

We visited the restaurant for a friend's birthday party. The bread was delicious as always. We were seated at a table that was next to crying children so we asked to be moved and the staff was very accommodating and seated us elsewhere. This is where the good ended. The salads were tasteless, the food was cold, and the server and manager insisted to us that we were indeed wrong and that our food was hot. To top it off, they didn't have the wine we chose and we had to substitute our selection. I wanted to host a pleasant dinner party at Little Village as I have so many times in the past but I'm afraid this experience was subpar at best. read more

We were seated immediately at reservation time. hostess and wait staff were wonderfully attentive. Our food was excellent, every single item was perfectly prepared and served. The fresh baked bread and dipping oil was delicious with the roasted garlic we added. House made meatballs were tender and flavorful in a light homemade fresh marinara. Really good. Roasted artichoke bottoms in a caper cream sauce appetizer was great. Fresh fish muniere was very good, not greasy at all, light flaky batter, perfectly cooked. Louisiana Seafood medley fetuccini was perfectly cooked in a delicious lobster cream sauce. Will be back. Highly recommend. read more

Other than the bread (which is pricey in my opinion,) however it was excellent. The salad was just a mixed green salad with nothing else in it. Entrees where absolutely terrible. The Bruceluna was so dried out it was not edible. the side of pasta was very small and swimming in water with red gravy that looked like tomato sauce. my wife got the Fish Almadine and was also terrible, she left it on the plate. The other people with us who had been here before were astonished at how bad the food was. As for the ambiance we were stuck in a room with two tables that appeared to be a back hallway with a make shift wall at the end of the table that shook the whole time we were there. First and likely last visit to today. It was terrible. I ordered a hamburger which was served patty on bare bun with two empty ramekins on the plate. When I asked about the fries I was told it doesn't come with fries, only a side of corn. I thought it came with fries but the menu had already been picked up so I let it go. I had to ask for mayo, mustard, ketchup (wondering if that was what was supposed to be in the empty ramekins on my plate?) It took a while to bring the condiments so I sat waiting for them before I could begin eating. I asked another waiter passing by for a menu again and indeed saw the burger does come with fries. I then asked my server about it and he said "oh yeah that was my mistake, let me go get them." I'm not sure when he realized his mistake, but I guess he wasn't going to admit it until I asked about it, because he never mentioned it or brought the fries on his own. By the time he finally did bring the fries, everyone at the table including me was already done eating. At that point I just asked for them to be put in a box. I'm not the kind of person to complain much and have never asked for something to be taken off my bill, and I still didn't this time. However, I feel like the server should have taken the initiative to do it since half my food wasn't brought out and I had to ask for it, AND it came at the end after everyone was had finished eating. We arrived at the restaurant a little after 11:00 am so it wasn't packed. This was a birthday lunch for my 85 year old mom. My sister also had to ask the waiter for the scoop of vanilla ice cream that was supposed to come with the meals they got. My mom and sister got eggplant with veal and said the veal was very tough and chewy. All around it was a disastrous lunch. I truly wish we had chosen to celebrate somewhere else. read more

Did not tell us about specials. I ordered my meal which was not an appetizer but brought it out as one, telling us he'd put in the rest of the order afterwards. The beef Florentine cannelloni was lukewarm; which was replaced when the rest of the meal was brought out. Bread was mediocre at best. At this point, not certain we'll be back. read more

For years this has been one of my go to restaurants in Baton Rouge. The value is sadly left the station in a major way. The bread is still a highlight but at 16 dollars now it's now lost a good bit of luster. On my first trip to Little Village back in what must have been 2010 the Ribeye was the best value on the city. It was 30 dollars and I recall I including salad and a side. Now it is 65 dollars ala carte and has surpassed Ruth's Chris pricing and is now a huge price increase just from my trip in April this year alone. Spending 100 a person just places Little Village in a different category experience for me and my evaluation on what I get drops as a result since service is on par wth a restaurant of much lower standards. If I pay 300 for a meal that means I'm paying now 60 in service. It's just not anywhere near there. read more

First of all the food is so wonderful and delicious. You have to try the bread with garlic it can be a meal in itself alone! The service is amazing our waitress was so kind and helpful with the selection on our food . I order a sensation grilled chicken salad and I had to take it home it was so big. The place is amazing and good for fine dining or with the family dinner. I will be going back for sure. read more

The ambiance of the place is amazing. A great little date night place. My server Aaron was great, he very attentive and was able to give recommendations. We started off with the half loaf of garlic bread. It was very fresh and topped with Parmesan cheese. For entrees: I received the seafood stuffed fish the fish was redfish and it was cooked perfectly with a side of sweet potato mashed. One of friends elected the to get the Louisiana Seafood Medley pasta and it was the star dish of the night. The cream of pasta was very flavorful. My other friend elected the village meatball and spaghetti. The pasta sauce need a little more salt and pepper but the meatball was delicious. For dessert the tiramisu and strawberry cheesecake was both delicious. The lemon drop martini and Bellini were great as well. I'm looking forward to coming back to try new dishes. read more

Came here Sunday after church for my 18 Anniversary. I love trying new places. The food was really good. The wait wasn't to long. The food was good. I'd heard great things about this restaurant and was shocked to see some of the reviews. I will say I had a good experience but it wasn't great. My one tip is to look for foods that have great reviews - I went rogue and was disappointed. Of course, we started with the bread. That is a MUST. It is HEAVENLY. It was the best thing I personally had on our visit. For my meal, I got the shrimp scampi and it was very over cooked. The shrimp were hard! On the side, I ordered a baked potato which was also over cooked. Half of it was inedible due to the texture. My mom was the smart one. She got a steak with crawfish topper and it was amazing! The steak was undercooked (not a problem for me haha) and the topper added so much flavor. It was delicious! Stick to the things you see people rave about and avoid the rest. I must also commend our waitress. She was working so hard (they were clearly understaffed) and was very kind about the wait. read more

The manager came out to argue that it was hot and make many excuses. The chicken parm was cold as well. I would not suggest this for any occasion. Went to celebrate our anniversary. We did get complimentary champagne which was a nice treat. I was so excited to try this bread that everyone raves about..and it did not disappoint! A half loaf is huge, I got the olive tapenade which wasn't anything special (wish I got the garlic) but the bread itself doesn't need anything. We got the seafood pasta, which I found a bit bland. And the sea bass special, which came with mashed potatoes and crab meat. It was tasty but also the price tag we found out with our bill was $45. For that amount I would want it to wow me. The dessert however was amazing. Sticky toffee cake, which came close (but of course did not top) the best sticky toffee cake we had in Las Vegas at Gordon Ramsey's Hell's Kitchen. Overall, I would be willing to go again, but would try more Italian dishes. Also the restaurant seemed a bit crowded for the pandemic. We had a short period of time with empty tables near us, however they filled everything pretty quickly. read more

This was the worst experience I've had there. The server we had was terrible, but she had a nice attitude. She was just not able to give good service at all. it took 15 minutes to get our drink order. One person in my party had to leave early because the food took so long to arrive. The meat on three of the dishes arrived cold. it was just an overall bad experience, and I felt guilty because I recommended the place. I'll never recommend it again after tonight. This was my first trip to this location, and i guess it was okay. The restaurant anchors a strip mall, and it's very dark in there. Like, you have to take a moment to get your eyes right when you walk in. Our friend requested a table that was sort of out of the way, and we were seated in the front of the restaurant by a busy thoroughfare right by a wine cabinet staff frequented...... so I'm not sure what their definition of out of the way is. They have a nice wine list, and we ended up selecting a nice Oregon Pinot Noir - rather pricey for what it was knowing the retail price, but that's what you get for purchasing a restaurant. Of course the bread is great. We had a very new server who did a great job. He was attentive and friendly. And the manager came out and spoke to us to check in. Everyone was friendly. Our food was quick to come out, though there was a little confusion when a food runner brought something out but called it something else. That led to a little confusion that was easily ironed out. Because this was a last minute dinner for me, I had eaten earlier in the day and opted only for the gumbo. It was good, but the shrimp was pretty overcooked. Still a nice roux and some strong flavor. My friends enjoyed their dishes as well - one had a pasta dish with clams that smelled divine, and another enjoyed the lobster bisque which was creamy and smooth, and a pasta appetizer (I can't remember which one), but she said it was lacking in substance from what she's had elsewhere. All in all an enjoyable night. I think I will probably stick to the downtown location because of the ambiance and layout. I have always felt very comfortable there, and they have much more natural light than this location. read more

Bread was some of the best I've ever had! Waitress was very friendly and polite. Mixed drinks were done well. Clams and linguine was very disappointing. Pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, but clams were rancid. Sauce was offensively soupy and under seasoned. It was so soupy that when the waitress took it from the table (barely touched btw) it sloshed all over the floor and they had to clean it up. Wine that was paired with the food arrived well after the food had been taken away. Servers were bringing dishes and drinks to the wrong tables all around us. Good but not great atmosphere. Next time I'd consider coming in solely for drinks and bread at the bar but wouldn't order a main course. read more

I visited this location for the first time on a Sunday around 12:30. They were supper busy and had a wait for larger parties. My party of three were seated immediately in a cozy booth by the front window. We started with the half loaf of bread and fried stuffed eggs. The bread was hard and nothing spectacular. Just taste like a toasted French bread with Parmesan cheese on top. To be honest it should be complimentary. Now the fried stuffed eggs were delicious. We really enjoyed the flavor. For entrees I got the shrimp and grits, my spouse had the stuffed fish, and my 11 yr old had the kid's spaghetti and meatball. All were fantastic. Now the shrimp and grits could have been a larger serving but maybe I was just hungry lol! My husband did say his stuffed fish was a little salty but still edible. The kids size spaghetti was a nice size. We also had a raspberry lemon drop which was good. Now the winner, the white chocolate bread pudding with added caramel sauce!! It came in a edible bowl. I forgot the name of the bowl but it was crispy with a pecan brittle taste. We loved it! All in all this was a great Sunday visit. read more

My friend and I went today for her birthday lunch. Of course the bread was fantastic but the rest of the food was over priced and not very good. My friend wanted fish and all their fish dishes were Tilapia. She got the fish almandine and I got seafood cannoli. Her fish was soggy and came with a side of corn that tasted straight out of a can, my dish had 1 cannoli and it was tough. Needless to say Little Village is off our list of favorites read more
