    Chicken Picatta
    Chris S.

Was in the area and wife wanted pasta. We stopped in, not knowing what to expect. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Initially, we were underwhelmed by the interior.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]But that quickly changed with the friendliness of the staff and customers.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My wife ordered the Penne pasta in Pink Sauce. She added mushrooms. She also got a side Caesar salad. The pasta was good. I ordered the Bleu Cheese and walnut salad. I enjoyed it, but the raspberry vinegrette was a bit too sweet for me, but still a decent salad. The highlight was my Chicken Picatta. I really enjoyed it. I liked that the Picatta sauce was with cream as it made it much better. Most restaurants have watery Picatta sauce. This was perfect. The staff were helpful and took care if us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall a good family style Italian restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]wow, haven't found a delicious , comfy , and inviting place in a while.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was really friendly we can definitely tell it's family owned, the family is so kind and inviting. They recognized my friends and I from our previous visit. I've tried the pizzas , really good classic pizza. They're very good at accommodating and customizing the food to our liking. Definitely ask them. Anyways I hope this help anyone craving this!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute comfy local pizza joint.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The customer service on point. The pizza was good. The antipasto salad was amazing even with my fiance who never eats salad. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They play the football game on tv which is also a plus and had tons of alcohol drinks[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Will definitely be back

    A "small" Antipasto Salad

Small Italian restaurant located in North Hills. Offers both eat-in and take out. There is a full service bar available. Maybe a dozen tables and a few tvs for the games. I came here on a weeknight with two others for dinner. While the menu features different pasta options, pizza was the plan. Three of us split an XL and one piece was left when we quit. The dough was not too thin and cooked just right. Not too stiff that the middle of the pizza still flopped down but most of the outer portion had strength to be eaten by hand. The toppings were plentiful and they did a half and half for us. Two of us ordered the anti-pasta salads. We ordered smalls thinking they were just side salads but were mistaken. The "smalls" could easily be shared by two. This was a quality local establishment. Maybe a little pricy as others suggested but definitely worth it.

This is mainly about the food. I went in to try "almost" every section of the menu. I wanted to go in like a food critic, order a bunch then decide what I liked for my own future ordering. In a sense, I sort of am a critic. I grew up in a restaurant at the age of 10. Cashiered, served, cooked, through the age of 16. It's fun to try and find atmosphere and food you grew up with. I might have to give a little advice. I ordered: Bruschetta Blue cheese walnut salad Fratelli's Stromboli, no peppers Meat Lasagna Clams Linguine The bruschetta was nice. Good portion, it needed a smidge of acid (maybe a balsamic drizzle), and a bit more fresh garlic, a dash of salt, definitely more olive oil. The toasts were on point! The Stromboli was a little too soft. I thought it would have been more like a pizza dough. It seemed more "bread-like". Ingredients were okay, seemed pricey for the filling amount. The meat lasagna. Hubby said it was okay. So that's all I can write. I never tasted it. I'll only eat my own lasagna. Sorry everyone! I'm a picky lasagna person. The Clams Linguine. Now, this was my dinner dish. According to the menu it specifically says white clam sauce. I wasn't thrilled when I saw red sauce and bruschetta tossed in. I had to "doctor it up" too. I added salt, a drizzle of wine, a dust of garlic powder and Parmesan. Mixed it all up. White clam sauce, is garlic sautéed with olive oil, deglazing with white wine, clam juice, butter, liquid of the Gods (pasta water) and the pasta. You add Italian parsley. It was ordering New England Clam Chowder and getting Manhattan Red. Now I'm not saying that after I fixed it, that it wasn't good. I ate it I was starving! But I'm a bit disappointed because there was red sauce to dip Stromboli in, red meat lasagna, bruschetta, tomatoes everywhere! Can I have my clams linguine with no tomatoes? Ugh. I didn't comment on the salad or dressings. But, the salad was really pretty. That's for lunch tomorrow. See picture. Garlic bread came with the pasta dishes. Service was nice. It appeared to be family owned. There was a young teen cleaning tables and it brought back a nostalgic moment. I'll support that for sure. I know I'll be in again. But, there will be hesitation and trust issues. Do you think I'm owed a new clams linguine?

I've been here once before but came here yesterday and this sandwich was HEAVEN!!!! It's a small but it was pretty big! Lol My boyfriend ordered the ravioli and he seemed to enjoy it as well! Customer service by our server was so good! She was talkative and engaging with all her customers I wish I got her name! I recommend coming and I will be back!

I only get 30 minute lunch or I would've taken food back. Received cold uncooked fries and meatball sandwich was soggy. Thank goodness my job has an air fryer so I was able to cook the fries and toast the sandwich.

I always loved this spot. I always get the meat lasagna and pepperoni pizza which I love. Wanted to change it up and try the calzone. It was good and cheesy. My dad loved his Tuna Sandwhich

From my very first phone call, Trina was so warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful. She made the ordering process easy, answered all of my questions, and helped us choose the perfect amount of food so all of our guests had more than enough to eat. The food was delicious, the pricing was very reasonable, and the delivery was flawless--everything arrived fresh, on time, and exactly as ordered. A huge thank you to Trina and the entire team for helping make our event a success. Outstanding customer service from start to finish! We'll definitely be ordering from Maria's Italian Kitchen again and highly recommend them for any catering event.

I was celebrating my daughter's high school graduation and having a great time. The food was amazing. I ordered a beer and was never asked for my ID. Later, after I ordered a second beer, another waiter came over and asked to see my ID. Keep in mind, I was already eating and enjoying my meal. The waiter told me that the manager was the one who asked that I be carded. If that is the case, I believe the situation could have been handled much better. I understand the policy, but it was very inconvenient to be asked for my ID after I had already started eating. I had my napkin on and was in the middle of my meal. I had to stop, clean myself up, and dig through my purse to find my ID. Please be more professional and check IDs when the first drink is ordered, before customers are settled in and eating. It disrupted what was otherwise a wonderful dining experience while celebrating my daughter's graduation. The food was excellent, but this situation was frustrating and could have been handled much better. I wasn't upset about being asked for identification--I understand that it's required. I was frustrated by the timing, especially since it happened after I had already begun eating my meal.

The ambiance is absolutely wonderful -- perfect vibe for a date or small, intimate gathering. Dark-ish lighting, but lit enough to see everything without trouble (for my not-so-great eyes, at least). Our server was super attentive and considerate of our conversations while making sure that we were served promptly. A really great experience from start to finish! The menu was great. All pasta besides the penne is made in house, and it's absolutely DELICIOUS. We shared the burrata caprese, which was great, but a slightly small portion. I ordered the rigatoni with vodka sauce, and it was absolutely fantastic. Perfect portion size, amazing texture for the sauce and noodles, and I was blown away by the sauce. My spouse ordered the cacio e pepe, and it was excellent--I must admit that I stole a few of her noodles and dipped them in the little puddles of vodka I still had left on my plate after I devoured my pasta. For dessert, we shared a tiramisu, and it was stellar. Perfect balance, textures, and flavors. This was my favorite Italian restaurant experience I've had in LA so far. I cannot wait to return!

We found parking in the back area and as soon as we entered we were greeted by the staff. My son ordered Pollo Siciliana and I got the farfalle al Salmon. I also got a glass of Pinot Grigio which is actually good. They give you a complimentary bread and an olive dip. I love the warm bread and the olive dip that comes with it is a welcome change from the ordinary. I enjoyed my pasta and the sauce is really rich and creamy. My son's pasta is good if you like tomato-based and not cream based sauce. My favorite is when they give you a complimentary tiramisu dessert. We were even given extra slices to take home. That's a nice touch that will certainly make us go back for more. They have a few tables and I would say it's a good place for a casual meet up or for families.

We parked in one of their 3 parking spots in the back and entered through the rear entrance. We were greeted by Aya who mentioned they were having some plumbing problems so we needed to sit in the front section of the restaurant. The place is pretty small and compact, with about 10 tables. It's family owned and been around for 25 years. The prices are pretty affordable for the portion sizes. Not much ambiance or decorations, but there was some nice Italian music playing overhead and some Christmas decorations that are apparently hung up year-round. Both Thomas and Aya waited on us and they were both pleasant and kind with nice smiles. Thomas quickly brought out some waters along with their complimentary focaccia that came with olive tapenade. The bread tasted old and stale and wasn't warm, but I liked the tapenade. Surprisingly, we were never asked if we wanted anything else to drink and also never got refills on our waters until I had to ask for one. I ordered the Italian salad with dressing on the side and I asked if the carrots that came in the salad were cooked or raw, since I don't like raw carrots. Aya happily suggested that they can cook me some carrots separately and bring them on the side, which is what they did. Even though the carrots were not really cooked that well, the gesture was still greatly appreciated. Other than that, all the ingredients were very fresh and the dressing was LIGHT, just how I like it. For our entrèes, I got the Pollo Della Cassa which came with chicken breast and mushrooms baked with mozzarella cheese, served on pasta with Alfredo sauce. ($24.95), with an add-on of shrimp (+$3.00 for 3 shrimps). I also asked for light sauce, not too soupy, and that's exactly how it was prepared. The food was piping hot, very fresh, and delicious. My son ordered the Pollo Limone ($24.95) that came with grilled chicken breast with lemon sauce on mushroom risotto. He was not the biggest fan of his food but still ate all of it. He also asked if he could get a side of veggies and they gladly brought out a medley of sautéed broccoli, zucchini, and carrots. We were not charged for the side of veggies and also the salad, which was very generous of them. To end the meal, you get a small complimentary square of Tiramisu which is a nice little treat. The customer service is truly the best part of this restaurant and you can tell that there is a lot of love involved here. They really care about their guests and want you to feel happy and satisfied. Due to some minor ticks here and there, I think I am going to stick with 4 stars overall. The restaurant was clean but just kind of unpleasant. You could also smell the bleach right when you walk in and sometimes the smell would waft through the air. It was also really hot in the restaurant and I don't think the A/C was working. They have one bathroom for each gender and they were very clean. I also asked for some change to leave cash for the tip, but Thomas told me they didn't have any cash in the restaurant. How can that be? Thank you Spumoni, Aya, Thomas, and the chefs. Will I return? Maybe, maybe not.

Service is great, food is fabulous in general consider the price and I love the interior and ambience. Couple of things disappointed me this time... 1. We sat at the bar and we felt a bit rushed, the server literally asked to take away one of the plates before we even started! The restaurant was not super busy at the time so not sure why they were "rushing us". 2. The tiramisu... again this is not my first time at Uovo although it is the first time I visited the Studio City spot; there was something off with the Tiramisu to the point that my friend and I did not even finish the dessert. There was a chocolate fudge thing on top as you can see in the picture that was way too much and way too overwhelming. Could not taste the coffee at all. The cream was very heavy... Other than that the pasta is always top notch, so I will definitely give them another try sometime soon!
