If you haven't dined with Johnny as your server at Ten Steak and Sushi you are missing out! Johnny is one of the best (if not the best) server in the state of RI. His attention to detail, attentiveness and charismatic personality adds so much to the entire dining experience at Ten. The food is great and the service is the best. Johnny- you make anywhere you are everyone's favorite place. Jenn @ Gary M

The ambiance is very nice inside. Dimly lighted for date night and they have valet parking. The service was okay. To be expected for how busy it was inside and the servers were nice. The food was a hit or miss at this restaurant. Food portion * The lobster Mac and cheese has a good flavor but since it was already a bit dry to begin with the crumbles on top made it unbearably dry. Also there was hardly ANY lobster in this dish (took a reference photo). 3/10 * The bacon wrapped scallops. Were hot and fresh came with a lemon. They were good, only complaint is they only give you 3 for $20 but overall they were tasty 7.5/10 * short rib ragu. Very saucy. The meat is very tender. The flavor is more red sauce and parmesan cheese and tomato 7/10 Overall I would give this restaurant a 7/10 it is very pretty, some of the menu items are tasty and it is a good place for a date if you do not get anxious in crowds as this place is always packed and the tables are very close together.

We had reservations for 6:30 on a Saturday, you'll definitely want to make sure you reserve as it was packed! The inside is dark and moody, I enjoyed the ambiance and our server was incredibly nice. We were celebrating a new grad and he congratulated my brother on his achievements. We got the fire cracker roll which was amazing, highly recommend trying it out. I got a strawberry mojito and the rhu-Barbie cocktail which both were delicious. The Barbie cocktail had a fun light and bubbles which were nice! For mains we got the bacon wrapped filet which was DELICIOUS. A huge steak as well- for sides we got the death by butter mashed potatoes, asparagus, fries, and the Brussels sprouts. The Brussels are a MUST get!! They were the best I've ever had. Overall, food is delicious, and so are the cocktails. Worth the expensive price tag, but don't get the scallops. For $30 we got 5 scallops, a little disappointing compared to the other dishes with huge portions! Definitely try this place out.

Sushi roll -- so good. I think it may have been the firecracker roll?

Sat at the bar and the service was fantastic. I wish I remembered our bartender's name. The food we got was also exceptional -- especially the salad.

Had a wonderful celebration dinner here with my wife! The space was cozy but chic, our service was top notch, and the NY strip and scallops were both delicious and well prepared. Japanese sweet potato is a must, and the drinks are strong and massive

Arrived for last seating of the evening following on long day of work and travel looking forward to a delicious meal with 5 star service. We walked in and greeted with a glare towards our attire, seated at a wobbly table under a surgery style overhead light. I asked to move and received another glare now facing a hostess stand with chemical bottles and other stuff instead of a nice view from a window or artful wall. While we were enjoying an app, the party next to us cleared and we were hit with chemical spray from the bottles used to Clean the tables...praying it didn't touch our food. The noise from the bar was so loud I couldnt hear my son talking to me. The bartender has a booming voice in such a small space. Our server was kind and patient, the food was excellent but the ambiance wasn't up to par. I don't want to listen to the floor staff gossip while they reset a table, I don't want to repeat my order because the server didn't write it down, I don't want to feel like I annoyed anyone because our tables were broken or because I don't want to be sprayed with table cleaner. Everyone is tired at the end of the day, please keep that in mind.

A very nice steak and sushi restaurant

We went here with no expectations, but had heard that people liked it. I have to agree. Everybody that worked there had a very nice way to make you comfortable. You got the impression, at least I did. They really wanted us to enjoy our meal and our time. My wife and I believe it or not just asked for a hamburger. We were asking different ways that were not in the menu, but our sweet waitress said whatever you want they will do. Now I do not have hamburgers that often anymore, but I definitely know all the levels of quality. I had a hamburger that was one of the best I've had in a very long time. My daughter and her Fiancé, both agreed they love their meals. My daughter had some form of pasta with a lot of seafood to which she added lobster to it. My son-in-law to be I believe had chicken. I do know that he thought it was very good. You will not be disappointed if you come here

This was a fantastic dinner! We started with the dynamite roll which consisted of four types of seafood, shrimp, lobster, crab and scallop. It was delicious! For a main I had a 10oz filet and we got spinach and truffle fries as a side. My steak was a bit overcooked for medium but it was still tender and flavorful. The truffle fries were so good and had a strong truffle flavor. Finally the spinach was just a little over salted. We had a birthday in the party and they brought out our dessert with a lovely presentation. The silk pie was very good as well, very creamy and the Oreo crumbs were delicious. Our waiter was very attentive and nice and the restaurant had a nice ambiance. Overall, I had a great night and will be back.

Downtown Providence dining. No parking lot so street parking is a thing. I ordered the starlet chicken and sangria. The service was good. However, the wait times for the food was extensively long. The Sangria was good however, the ice to sangria ratio was imbalanced so you had to rush to sip or the sangria became watered down. The starter chicken entree was good. The asparagus paired with it however were SUPER huge. The mashed potatoes with the gravy oh that was the masterpiece of the meal.

We went to Ten before the WaterFire with another couple. It was my 1st time and it didn't disappoint. Let's just say Johnny was Amazing! So knowledgeable and offered up some great suggestions. I had never had a beef sushi roll before and the Providence roll didn't disappoint. Everything was amazing and we will definitely be back!

They made us this! We came with family before the events began and truly couldn't be more thankful.

Truly if you're in town there isn't another restaurant I would go to. The staff is unreal, Johnny is the best waiter I've ever had and in my life. And waiter is the wrong word, he is so attentive and supportive of allergies and preferences. Remembers names, faces, special events. Truly the most magical person, on top of the sushi AND steak being gourmet and totally worth it, his treatment and excellence raises the bar. I'm sure there's a million reviews about him because he is THE most special person we've ever had the honor of dining with. He is a light! The vibe is always great here, they're so accommodating of party size, not a single complaint. If you want a dinner that's worth it, taste great, makes you feel great after, and to leave feeling cared for, come here!

We arrived without a reservation after the restaurant caught my eye from the street. Although we were told the dining room was fully booked, I asked if we could dine at the bar. The hostess kindly checked with Sarita, the bartender, who immediately welcomed us and took wonderful care of us throughout the evening. We were 30 minutes early, seated early, and I can understand the from end wait. We ended up there about 3 hours all in. I had French onion soup, dry aged NY strip and a baked potato. The soup was not thin and brothy. Was ok, but not what I was expecting. I think it dried up in the kitchen with the croutons in the ingredients so it ended up pasty. The NY strip ordered medium was hard to eat. The middle was moderately better but was able to eat about a third of it. Seasoning forward and very tough/chewy. The baked potato wasn't fully cooked so basically ignored that. Also at my table was the lamb and the pork chop, and both were said to be very good. Other adult table was a mix of steaks, sides, and salads with steak toppers. Mixed reviews over there but more over seasoning comments. A few people got dessert and they looked good. Friendly but slow, expensive but mediocre, as tough to go back as the chew on the steak.

I just remembered having amazing ceviche in RI back then, and randomly stumbling upon them again made me realize it was the same spot, and it's still just as delicious! Ceviche Mixto (5/5): Hands down one of the best ceviches I've ever had. Churrasco al Gaucho with Mashed Potatoes (4.5/5): Tender, delicious steak and great mashed potatoes all around. Andina Empanadas (4.25/5): Super meaty, perfectly puffy, and nicely crisp. There was a slight hint of sweetness I wasn't expecting, but I still really enjoyed them. Jalea (4/5): A generous portion of fried seafood. Good overall Classic Paella (4/5): Solid paella, though nothing super standout. Jalea: I don't usually like fried seafood, but this was really good! Besides the usual oysters, quahogs, shrimp, mussels, and squid, they also had South American specialties like paiche and pota. The batter was just the right consistency, not too thick, so it was crispy but not hard, and not too greasy, allowing you to taste the natural flavor of the seafood. The best dish was the fried shrimp; the thin, crispy shell concealed incredibly smooth and tender shrimp inside. The yucca fries were thickly cut, crispy on the outside and delicate on the inside, very satisfying. I recommend ordering an extra side of chili sauce; the waiter called it "extra spicy," but it's actually a salsa-like sweet and sour sauce--refreshing and mildly spicy, very refreshing. 903 Tasting: A platter of three signature dishes, perfect for first-timers. Ceviche Mixto had a milder sourness, making it easy to put in mouth, but it was a bit monotonous, and the scallops were a little mushy. Jaleita was basically a smaller version of Jalea. Arroz con Mariscos was similar to Spanish paella, but it was noticeably more tomato-based in sourness, with a hint of cheese. The rice wasn't too soggy either, making it the best of the three. Lomo Saltado: A classic Peruvian dish, and well-made. The beef is very flavorful, emphasizing the tomato's acidity rather than the soy sauce's saltiness, and the gamey taste was well removed. Although it was a bit overcooked , it was generally acceptable. By the way, their backyard was really beautiful!
