Or fav bar tender, Kevin, wasn't working last night and the one who was couldn't make a hot and dirty martini for some reason. My husband's steak was basically salt with a side of steak. My medium rare steak was medium in the middle and well done everywhere else. Truly ruined a $65 steak. Overall the meal was $500 and truly not worth it. We went here with no expectations, but had heard that people liked it. I have to agree. Everybody that worked there had a very nice way to make you comfortable. You got the impression, at least I did. They really wanted us to enjoy our meal and our time. My wife and I believe it or not just asked for a hamburger. This was a fantastic dinner! We started with the dynamite roll which consisted of four types of seafood, shrimp, lobster, crab and scallop. It was delicious! For a main I had a 10oz filet and we got spinach and truffle fries as a side. My steak was a bit overcooked for medium but it was still tender and flavorful. The truffle fries were so good and had a strong truffle flavor. Finally the spinach was just a little over salted. Downtown Providence dining. No parking lot so street parking is a thing. I ordered the starlet chicken and sangria. The service was good. However, the wait times for the food was extensively long. Truly if you're in town there isn't another restaurant I would go to. The staff is unreal, Johnny is the best waiter I've ever had and in my life. And waiter is the wrong word, he is so attentive and supportive of allergies and preferences. Remembers names, faces, special events. So this restaurant has been around for a long time and this was my first time here. The white wine sangria, only had 1 cherry and 1 orange in it with way too much thin ice cubes. The ice quickly watered down the wine. I ordered the silk chocolate cake to go. I was disappointed once I tried it at home. The texture was off, more like a thick fudge and too sweat. Also, the Japanese sweet potatoes were good. But $16 for a $2 sweet potato, I just can't justify to order again. On the other hand, my 12 year old son enjoyed the California Roll, the spicy tuna roll and the Creme Brûlée with cotton candy. He also said the Shirley temples were the best he ever had as he always orders those whenever he goes out to eat if they have them. Every year, my one request for my birthday is be treated to a dinner here. And every year, my sister and I get the tomahawk steak, which is pure perfection. Now, it's definitely a fact prices have risen. The tomahawk has gone from $99 to $135. Inflation is definitely ridiculous. But my sister rode w it. But how do they justify giving HALF the meat on the bone???? It was not a full tomahawk!!! So the price went up 35% and we got 50% less meat. Very very disappointing! This time, my boyfriend and I ordered 8 R.I. oysters, the Snake River Farms flat iron wagyu with crab oscar topping, & the Prime Roll. The oysters were a great light starter. The sushi roll was alright, it was mainly just lobster and tempura. What I really came for was the steak and lobster. Lobster dipped in melted butter always hits the spot. I ordered my wagyu medium rare. It was amazing. There was also a good amount of lump crab and hollandaise sauce on top of the steak. I was definitely full and super satisfied with my meal. In terms of the restaurant itself, I would describe it as dimly lit and intimate, but lively and busy. Service was great and fast.
