There is a nice secluded area in the rear, and we sat there. Our server was good. She was outgoing and attentive. She was happy to answer questions, but she refrained from providing her opinion when my wife was trying to decide between choices. It is understandable. We ordered some cocktails to start. I ordered a vodka-based BLUE martini, and my wife ordered the prickly pear martini. Both were excellent. We started with the PRIME Sushi roll, which was very good. We ordered our entrees, which included the Kansas City strip, filet mignon, maple roasted brussels sprouts with bacon, and death by butter mashed potatoes. Came here a few months ago for the first time for my bf birthday and had an amazing meal! I got the filet mignon which was cooked perfectly and tasty. We walked in and greeted with a glare towards our attire, seated at a wobbly table under a surgery style overhead light. I asked to move and received another glare now facing a hostess stand with chemical bottles and other stuff instead of a nice view from a window or artful wall. While we were enjoying an app, the party next to us cleared and we were hit with chemical spray from the bottles used to Clean the tables...praying it didn't touch our food. The noise from the bar was so loud I couldnt hear my son talking to me. The bartender has a booming voice in such a small space. Our server was kind and patient, the food was excellent but the ambiance wasn't up to par. I don't want to listen to the floor staff gossip while they reset a table, I don't want to repeat my order because the server didn't write it down, I don't want to feel like I annoyed anyone because our tables were broken or because I don't want to be sprayed with table cleaner. So this restaurant has been around for a long time and this was my first time here. I'll give the service 4 stars and the ambiance 3 stars. The tables are very close together. The food only gets 2 stars for me. I ordered Scallops à la carte for $38 ($2 more than what was listed on the online menu). I understand they are Day Boat scallops but they were very small and didn't seem like 8 oz.s of scallops to me. They were a little undercooked as well. I didn't send them back to sear them because it was my first meal of the day and I just wanted to eat lol. The white wine sangria, only had 1 cherry and 1 orange in it with way too much thin ice cubes. The ice quickly watered down the wine. I ordered the silk chocolate cake to go. I was disappointed once I tried it at home. The texture was off, more like a thick fudge and too sweat. Also, the Japanese sweet potatoes were good. But $16 for a $2 sweet potato, I just can't justify to order again. On the other hand, my 12 year old son enjoyed the California Roll, the spicy tuna roll and the Creme Brûlée with cotton candy. He also said the Shirley temples were the best he ever had as he always orders those whenever he goes out to eat if they have them. Apparently I waited a year to update the aforementioned visit to Ten. Some have to re-review this year's, which was about 3 weeks ago. Every year, my one request for my birthday is be treated to a dinner here. And every year, my sister and I get the tomahawk steak, which is pure perfection. Now, it's definitely a fact prices have risen. The tomahawk has gone from $99 to $135. Inflation is definitely ridiculous. But my sister rode w it. But how do they justify giving HALF the meat on the bone???? It was not a full tomahawk!!! So the price went up 35% and we got 50% less meat. Very very disappointing! This time, my boyfriend and I ordered 8 R.I. oysters, the Snake River Farms flat iron wagyu with crab oscar topping, & the Prime Roll. The oysters were a great light starter. The sushi roll was alright, it was mainly just lobster and tempura. What I really came for was the steak and lobster. Lobster dipped in melted butter always hits the spot. I ordered my wagyu medium rare. It was amazing. There was also a good amount of lump crab and hollandaise sauce on top of the steak. I was definitely full and super satisfied with my meal. In terms of the restaurant itself, I would describe it as dimly lit and intimate, but lively and busy. Service was great and fast.
