April 27, 2020: I placed my bags on the conveyer, then my purchases. The gentleman ahead of me paid with cash straight from his wallet, and then from a handful of coins dug from his pocket which he held out and asked the cashier to choose from. She had no protective clothing, mask or gloves. When she turned to check me out she informed me that employees are not allowed to touch customer's bags so I agreed to bag my own. She then picked up my bags and moved them to the bagging area and proceeded to touch every item of mine. Fred Meyer has failed potentially catastrophically, to educate its employees in the basics of sanitation and hygeine, and significantly, to provide for the safety of the employees themselves. This is not my first encounter of this sort. Previously, a cashier sneezed while checking out and only turned her head and then continued checking. Fortunately in both cases I was gloved and masked and wiped down everything after reaching my car. I will think twice before shopping at Freddy's from now on. read more

I've taken to ordering online recently for a variety of reasons. When my last order comes out of the store with less than 50% of the items I requested, I decided to go inside and see what replacements I might find. More than one exact item that I ordered was sitting right there on the shelf. Same day. Same hour. I want to be generous and point out that they seem short staffed and think that could be the issue. Regardless, it was a huge waste of my time. Perhaps worse, just walking around for less than 15 minutes, I observed at least four staff who were not properly masked, two of which were picking from the shelves for online orders. This place is starting to gross me out and the reasons I used to shop there are disappearing. I'm doing more shopping elsewhere as a result. read more

I did a pick up order, My wife and kids where sick at home. When I arrived the people seemed busy so I waited for about 10 minutes before seeing the guy help someone else that just pulled in 1 minute prior to being helped. When I asked about my order the employee roughly shouted I needed to wait my turn, I said I had been waiting longer then some of the other people who are being served first. He said well your not on my list so wait for your delivery person. I waited watching the same person go inside and get my order, some of the items were incorrect after stating we did not want substitutions so I said I did not want the items this only seemed to anger this employee more. I finished my business with this store and went home, when I unloaded my groceries I noticed the order stickers firmly stuck to my car, I was upset when I noticed because I had to figure out a way to remove the stickers without damage. My wife called the store and they seemed less then accommodating when she expressed what happened, the manager was a female but said she did not have to give her name, because she stated my wife was being a "Karen" for no reason. My wife told her if there is damage to the car with removal of the stickers we would bring the bill to FredMeyer She said " yeah good luck with that" she asked my wife "are you done"? and stated I am busy with my customers. It was a horrible experience and at this time we decided to shop elsewhere from that day on. read more

I ordered groceries to be delivered. The delivery never showed and when I looked at my account it showed that I had been canceled. When I called to find out why all they could say was I had to call Instacart. This was my first and last time using Fred Myers for groceries. read more

So, the store was clean and the staff was helpful. I have to rate it one star because my boyfriend has a sensitive butt. He reluctantly used the facilities to take care of some business that needed to be tended to urgently. Upon completion of said "meeting" he emerged less enthralled than we had hoped. When I asked why he seemed so upset he explained, in way too much detail why. He said that the toilet paper was one ply and very abrasive. Now, he's a big, strong man who rarely complains. His bottom half must truly be on fire to get this strong of a reaction. So, bean counter and Freddy's purchasing dept, I urge you to find a new toilet paper. Don't shop there if you are elderly, disabled or have any mobility issues. The management of the store decided it would be a good idea to close the back entrance where the plants and garden tools are located. As a result, everyone has to use the overcrowded front entrance which has limited disability parking spots and (the last time we visited) only one broken shopping scooter. It is also quite difficult to get someone to assist you since they have shut down the registers at the back of the store and cut down on staff. When you finally manage to get an employee to assist you, the morale seems to be low. We ask a dispirited salesperson if they would re open the back and if they would hire more staff any time soon and the clerk sighed and said no. This is a shame, the store is conveniently located and a good shopping spot for the seniors in the apartment buildings nearby. Fortunately there are better and more accessible alternatives to Fred Meyers in the area. read more

Okay I went and purchased choice rib eye steak on the digital coupon for $4.77 a pound. But when I received the pack that was out there I asked the butcher is this choice meat he said yes. The package was not marked choice so I was suspicious the steak was tough so we know that what we received was not choice meat no way so be careful if it is not marked choice it isn't it was select. read more

We are new to the area and we shopped at this Fred Myer location for the first time last weekend 6/9/18). I was blown away by the amazing customer service. I wish I would have remembered the names of the lady who checked us out who was so friendly and helpful and the gentleman who helped us locate the parmesan crisps. The staff at this location went above and beyond to be helpful! We have found our neighborhood market of choice! Also; I used the ladies room during our visit. So...typically I don't review places like Fred Meyer's because they're basically all the same but this one is definitely not. Yuck. It just has a really dirty feel to it. The floors are gross, everything is cluttered when you walk in the door & I felt really cramped. For the most part, i'm guessing it has everything available to you like every other Fred Meyer's does, but this one is one of the least appealing that I've shopped at. We were just there to grab some things for dinner but I couldn't wait to get out. I frequent the Fred Meyer's in Puyallup & that store is 10x better (although, obviously not close enough to go to for people out in the SeaTac area). I'm just very thankful I do not have to do my grocery shopping at this Fred Meyer's. If I lived in this area, I would definitely go out of my way to find somewhere else to go. read more

Ok PET lovers turns out Fred Meyers has a pet policy. I saw a woman with her dog no service vest on, and I asked 5 yes 5 different employees why no one will make her take the dog out or ask her about it?!? They each one by one told me, store policy says we can't ask.. So me being a smart ass, I ask " sooo technically me knowing it's wrong to bring my pet into a grocery store that isn't a service animal, I can do so without you doing anything about it?!?" They each said unfortunately yes.. My outlook any pet lover should now shop at Fred Meyers and bring your dog or cat, they won't say anything. I personally think it's disrespectful to others to bring non service animals in stores, but until Fred Meyers does something about it, go for it.. Eventually they will put a stop to it. read more

The left half of this store is clothing and home while the right half is grocery. There are separate entrances and everything. The grocery store isn't all that impressive. There is a small and overpriced produce section when you first walk in. Behind that is an extensive bakery. There is a health foods section next to the bakery where you can find protein powder, gluten free snacks, and local (and overpriced) eggs and dairy products. Lots of vegan options in the health foods section too. And a bulk section that is pretty much dried fruit and nuts, not a lot of flour and grain options. I know you're worried by this point, but don't worry, the store also has normally priced eggs and milk for us commoners. It also has a ton of processed food. The healthy food is always located around the grocery store perimeter, but that might represent an eighth of the total food in this store. Look for specials but don't worry about actually buying 4 items if there is a 4 for $5 sale. It's just to get you to buy more. And it works!! Convenient gas station outside where you can redeem your points from the store for cheaper gas. Usually the cheapest around. read more

This place is good enough. It has almost everything you need and has an extensive natural food section (with gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, and other-free options!). Even though I have to trek out from Seattle, I still go here about once or twice a month because I can get everything I need from one place and at prices that are much lower than other stores (e.g., QFC, Trader Joes, Met Mart, etc.). The wine and beer selection is HUGE in this place. I just wish they weren't remodeling (they have been for 4 or 5 months now). It's kind of a pain to move around in the store because of the construction/remodel in addition to the rearranging of all the merchandise. read more

Okay, it's a grocery store and then some. It's not perfect, but it's the best option you have in the area, so slow your roll at the Fred Mizzle. I find their prices to be routinely cheaper than places like QFC and Safeway, unless QFC and Safeway are running specific sales on items. When I go somewhere to stock up on essentials, I go to Fred Meyer. I rarely find them out of stock of the things I need to buy, and any time I've gone to a manager or associate for help, they've been really great. Sure, it can be challenging to find someone at times, but really, it's no different than any other store with that much square footage. I really think they strike a nice balance of getting as much stuff in as possible without being too cluttered, and their organization makes more sense to me than other grocery stores. Ahhhh good ole' Fred Meyer. This place usually can be counted on to have certain items that Walmart doesn't carry. Does that make them great though? Certainly not. I'd stick with average at best. One thing about shopping in chain superstores is that you don't really expect good customer service. Hell most of the time customer service is minimal at best. So I'm at this particular location getting a prescription filled after Walgreens has failed me, & what do I get here? More crap. Employees following me around like I'm about to steal, when I was actually trying to find where they keep their irons so that I could buy one! I didn't even end up finding what I needed because I had to get back to the pharmacy before they closed at 9pm. The employees focus way more on what you look like, rather than trying to help you find anything. Managers re-train your employees please. Their selection is decent for the basics. The store is massive & their sales floor is generally kept pretty clean. The customer restrooms are as well surprisingly. Luckily for this store, the pharmacy is one of their saving graces. No issues with picking up prescriptions. In & out like it should be. They are a tick higher on prices than most places. I begrudgingly recommend. read more

I love Fred Meyers because its clean and has a really good stock of everything. However, many employees have increasingly become rude. The Starbucks employee inside Fred Meyers tonight before closing was particularly an ass. My friend asks if the store was already closed and she responded by saying "Let me look at the clock first." Then when she said No and he gave his order, she said "Oh God, why you gotta make it hard?". Seriously?! What happened to customer service and professionalism? The five stars I give this mega giant store rests not on its ability to stock everything from diamonds to dog food, but on the fact I had looked EVERYWHERE for Tofuti cream cheese and they had it. Sure I do most of my shopping here anyways since I can grab something for the garden or a small tool I need for work. But finding Tofuti *HUGE GRIN* I cannot have milk products and was going through serious cream cheese/bagel withdrawal. I tried the sister Kroger stores (QFC even on cap hill where you would think this would be in stock) but no... The One stop ghetto shop had what I needed. The meat department at this Freddies is really nice too. Always helpful and letting you know what they have just cut or is really good. I also like that you DO NOT need a customer loyalty card to get the lowest prices. They will give you a rebate if you spend enough money but cut everyone in on the good prices. I find that very nice in a day in age where your supposed to carry 2000000 loyalty cards around to get the sale price. read more

I was so thrilled by the shoe department, raced in the store 5 minutes before they closed to get get comfortable shoes for a job I was starting the following morning which required me to be on my feet all day. The gal in the shoe department was so great (I think her name was Heather) and I apologized that I rolled in right before closing time. She told me "not a problem!" and helped me pick out a pair of comfy shoes and I was out of there in about 7 minutes. wow!! Then, as I race toward the registers as they are shutting the lights down in the store, the older african american lady that was running the customer service desk scowls at me and bellows at me "We're closed and announced it 15 minutes ago! I don't even think the registers are open anymore! Good luck finding one that's open" and she kept ranting as I got over to an open register, WITH 3 people in line, and got the nicest cashier. I told the cashier that the gal in the shoe department was so helpful and so quick, but that the lady in customer service was so rude and she should can it. The cashier chuckled and told me that she is like that and I'm not the only person to complain about her. lol Anyways, I love Freddies, but if you have an ol' hag who's rude to customers, who works in customer service, she might need to be reminded that she can leave her attitude at home where she can complain to her 17 cats. The cashiers are friendly and do remember you. My only complaint? When I try to do a Yelp check-in, standing in the middle of the store, it says I'm "too far away." Other than that, it's great. This place is a great one stop shop! It's been a crazy place for awhile with all the remodeling and moving stuff around. But now since had its reopening, that should hopefully of stopped. They have a pretty decent selection of produce including organic. And the new deli/meats section is really nice! The beer selection has got to be one of the best I have seen at Freddie's. They also have a huge natural section. But everything is higher prices then regular grocery stores. The store is huge!! And with the remodel looks better then before!! They do carry everything from regular grocery store items to jewelry, garden, kitchen, clothes and furniture!! I will say everything costs more then I would think/like probably because of the one stop shop. But they do usually always have sales/coupons to combat the higher prices. It was in the sw corner or parking lot, so, I wanted to know if they even had a camera pointed there before I waste my time filling out a police report. So I called asked the question and a nice lady said she would find out and put me on hold for 7 minutes only to have a rude lady pick up the line and say they cant give out that info. This is a review of our visit here yesterday on a Friday afternoon. The store itself is fairly clean and stocked. I think it would be easier for the handicap carts to be at both ends and not having to guess which one. I had an issue with not being able to get outside from the inside to the garden center to check out their plants. The doors were not automatic open. That made my visit less favorable. Also in the restrooms. I usually find a surface in the stall to put my phone and wallet on. The only place was the kid seat. I had an uneasy feeling cause there was a questionable stain on it that I tried to avoid. After I washed my hands I knew they were thoroughly cleaned but I had the heebeee jeebees about what my belongings may have touched. I couldn't find an antibacterial surface wipe anywhere near. I think I pumped some hand sanitizer over by the assistant stand at self checkout and spread it out on my hands and belongings then wiped them with my shirt. We noticed the extremely long line at customer service when we first walked in that was 20 deep so we decided we would definitely accomplish other things first in the store. Half an hour later we get back in line and it was still 10 deep but we had to take care of our return. It was a 15-20 minute wait til we finally made it to the front. They only had 2 helpers for the longest time. Everyone in line were very irate. They should not have waited that long to send additional help. Unhappy rants and scowling faces waiting in line and as customers were leaving. Apparently one of the registers werent functioning. They should have been able to help customers say at electronics at least for a few transactions til the line could be acceptably managed. Alot of the customers were clearly disgusted and were planning never to come here again. read more

I pay my bills with this card and needless to say my bills were held up because of this senseless charge on my debit card... What a great inconvenience... I end up doing most of my grocery shopping here. Sometimes the crowd can be not so great, but in general nothing to worry about. Overall, the lines are generally not super long, they keep stuff in stock, and you don't have to have a savings card to get the sale prices. The customer service people are pretty good if you can find someone to help you. I've never tried one of their "customer service" phones that are sprinkled throughout the store, but I imagine it would be useful. However, I prefer to hunt a real person down. The food is decently priced and they have lots of other random things in the department store area. It's kind of nice to have the chance to run and grab some socks while grocery shopping if necessary. read more
