Their service department had the worst customer service in Spokane! I had a microwave that stopped working in one of my rental units and called Fred's in an attempt to keep with a local business for repair. They sent a technician over and he reported back to me the following day that the (very expensive) convection microwave needed a new circuit board and asked for my approval to order it. After giving him verbal confirmation to place the order and repair the microwave, I proceed to wait...and wait....and wait. One week later I called Fred's service dept. back and asked if the part had been ordered and if the work had been completed... they responded by letting me know that they weren't aware of any part that needed to be ordered and that it would probably be a few more days before they could get the part in and probably not installed until the following week. I explained to them what was happening and (on Monday) asked if they could rush the part and get it installed by that Friday since they had already dropped the ball once....they agreed. Thursday I call back after not hearing from them all week, and they said that the part was still not in, were not sure when it might be in and it would probably be another few days, but in the same call retracted that statement after I made a bit of a stink and said they had a part in their warehouse and could have it installed by that afternoon. The tech came to the home and installed the new circuit board only to have it still not work and advised me I would need to spend another $300 for fuses or buy a new microwave. I agreed that a new microwave was needed and called Lowe's....it was installed within 2 days. read more

After 6 months of dealing with a refridgerator that does not work, multiple repair attempts, multiple phone calls to both Fred's and Whirlpool. I still have a Kitchen Aid that leaks water on the floor and does not keep food frozed or cold. Still waiting to hear back from both on a resolution. read more

Our refrigerator was slow to cool and we lost a whole fridge of food. Fred's came out 2 days later and said nothing was wrong as the fridge was cool. It happened again after another trip to the grocery store. They had offered to come free if it happened again so I called and they came same day. This time they figured out the what was wrong and ordered the part. Three days later the part is in and they are coming.... next Friday to put it in-- 2 weeks without a fridge!! Horrible service and they do not seem to understand why a family of four with two children under 4 need a working fridge asap. Update: Complained to the manager and they are supposedly coming today. read more

They're painful to deal with from a repair perspective. First, don't complete the "online" form to schedule an appointment. We did --- and then after not receiving a callback within 6 hours, called in to discover that someone has to manually go in to the computer system to pull the "online" information off the web --- and that they hadn't bothered to do so yet that day. Second, the repair guy isn't given any of the information about the problem that you called about --- in our case, a gasket. Thus, when he shows up days later (they're booked solid), he's got no clue as to what the issue is (and of course doesn't have the part on his truck). They may be good to purchase appliances from, but they're certainly not customer-focused on the repair side. We'll see whether the appliance actually gets repaired when they come out now that the part has allegedly arrived. read more

Ordered a electrolux induction cook top from these people back in November. They advised me it would be delivered in time for Thanksgiving. They then advised me that it would not be in until right before Christmas. They then told us it would be in the next Tuesday and so we set up for the installation. When the installer went to pick up the cook top, it was not in. After calling the salesman back, he just kept blaming the representative, whoever that might be. These guys have done nothing but give us a huge run around. We had looked at a Sears cooktop before we went to Fred's and then later cancelled with Sears because we thought this would be a better deal with Fred's . We regret our decision now. Then when the guy finally decided to come out he just made some incredibly stupid operating suggestions that essentially amounted to "cross your fingers and hope for the best." Did a remodel and bought 8 new appliances at the same time: Refrigerator, dishwasher, cooktop, microwave, oven, under counter beverage center, washer and dryer. Our contractor told us that 'they' are making appliances now to last 7 years. Unlike appliances we grew up with that our parents mostly still have (or could have) and would be functional. Like clockwork - at 6.5 years, the refrigerator had a defrost heater go out, the microwave caught fire from a side electrical panel (inside the microwave) and to fix the one broken part, you have to replace ALL THREE (so we bought a new microwave) and the beverage center quit cooling. Literally, within 2 weeks - all of this happened. Not impressed. Service is good, but expensive. It's not Freds fault - as they don't make the appliances, but their service and repairs could be more affordable. read more

Purchased a dishwasher, had to take the unit back twice because they keep their appliances in a wear-house with no heat. When the units are tested at the manufacture level there is residual water in them. It was frozen and our dishwasher motor burnt up. Fred's said tuff. They sell crap only crap. I have a very nice Miele refrigerator that I bought from Fred's. I have been trying to get it serviced for months. The lady who always answers the phone is extremely rude and unhelpful to say the least. I have 2 young kids at home and no refrigerator for 3 weeks now because this lady keeps telling saying they are waiting on a part or ordered the wrong part or some other excuse. She always says she will call back with solution or answer about the part and never has. Working "with" Fred's on this has been an absolute NIGHTMARE. One star is too many. AVOID THIS PLACE!!! My refrigerator broke down within the warranty period, and after finally getting through on their understaffed phone lines, they sent out a technician. Oh wait-he never showed up (or bothered to call), after I took time off from work. So I tried again-technician arrived (note that they (may) call in the AM and tell you when they will show up, so you have to be available the entire day), diagnosed the problem, and ordered the part (maybe). They called and said the part was in, scheduled an appointment so that I took the day off, and never called or showed (again). After calling they said the part was not in. So here I am, with an unfixed fridge and all of Fred's phone lines are busy...get the idea? AVOID THIS PLACE!!! read more

They may sell appliances. Only appliances, but their service (warranty) leaves a lot to be desired. A month now without ice in my NEW refrigerator. Part was ordered and scheduled for repair. Two weeks later, on the day before the appointment, the part mysteriously disappears. Part reordered. Scheduled for repair in the afternoon, almost two weeks later. On the morning of appointment they decide they can only make it in the morning. Afternoon won't work. Too late I've got other things planned. SCHEDULED AGAIN for repair in five days. Twice now no repair because of their incompetence. Both times I get shoved to the end of the line. No future purchases at Fred's. read more

I recently purchased an oven from Freds and came home and was going to cook a great dinner. I hooked up the appliance to the gas line and new Outlet end found that the oven did not heat up. I called for service. The service department said they wouldn't come out for 4 days. The service guy showed up today and told me that he needed a part. The part will take 7 to 10 days. That would be two weeks without an oven. So I called the store and ask is there anything that I can do such as a loaner or something and they told me there's nothing that they can do. I find this to be a terrible situation when you spend a lot of money for a stove and oven. I am not happy with Fred's Appliances read more

Fred's Appliance Service is unquestionably the worst service we have ever experienced from any business at any time in our lives. Three visits and over two hundred dollars later and we still do not have a functional dishwasher. Who should use Fred's Appliance Repair Service? 1) Anyone who doesn't have a job or any commitments during the day whatsover. Why? You can't schedule a time for the repairman - just the day. The repairman will call you that morning to let you know the anticipated time. Trust us, that is just a guess. Plan to be available for hours after that projected time. 2) Anyone who has cash to burn. You'll pay for the initial visit to diagnose the problem but then they will need to order the part. They say they will call you when the part is in, but you'll actually need to call them. When the repairman returns with the part, he will have forgotten the 2nd piece, thus the need to schedule another appointment. (See #1 - being a person with no daily commitments.) By the third appointment, you'll actually have the part replaced and don't count on any discount on parts for their repeated visits. 3) Anyone who finds working on appliance parts fun. The repairman packed up his tools and told us the drain tube on our dishwasher had been replaced. We were staring at the bottom rack sitting on our counter and two other internal pieces resting on the door of the open dishwasher. When asked if the dishwasher would now drain, he replied, "It should. You'll need to get the build-up off these two parts and then reasssemble it. If it is still a problem, give me a call." We then had to ask how to reassemble the dishwasher. If we knew how to take apart, fix, and put back together a dishwasher, we would not have called and paid for help! Clearly we were mistaken for people who would see appliance assembly as recreational fun. We are beyond frustrated with our experience! From calling to make an appointment to the service repairman, Fred's is consistent in lack of care for the customer. Conveniently we have a way to deal with our frustration - there's a mountain of dishes needing to be handwashed here. We'd run them through our dishwashwer, but, after 3 visits and over $200 dollars for a hose, we still don't have a working dishwasher. read more

We had Brian from Fred's appliance come out to figure out what was wrong with our ice maker. He knew what the problem was right away and called to order the part. The part and labor was going to be $550 and so Brian said he would double check and not order the parts till he got back to me. Long story short, he ordered all of the parts separately and when everything was installed it was only $170! Brian was very nice, fast and efficient and I couldn't be happier with Fred's Appliance. read more

It's weird looking at previous post. Purchased a brand new Bosch dishwasher. A few weeks later my wife noticed a fairly significant flaw in the stainless. I spoke with my salesperson Nick and within 10 minutes a new front was ordered. No hassle whatsoever. In addition what I found when shopping around, Fred's does actually have the inventory whereas the big box stores have very limited models in stock. Great job Fred's. read more

My wife and I purchased a front load compact washer and dryer from the Valley Ding and Dent. The crew arrived to deliver and install a few days later. There were problems with both units, so they took them back. A few days later the salesman made arrangements for a different set to be delivered. The crew arrived on delivery day and the stacking kit was not with the appliances. We didn't have a place to store the appliances, so the crew took them back. The salesman called shortly after and said they would be able to deliver in 5 to 7 days. I told the salesman we expected delivery today, not later. Especially since this was the second time around. I was referred to Chris the delivery manager. I told him we expected delivery today. He said they were shorthanded and deliveries north of Spokane occurred on Monday and Thursday. We were unable to resolve the issue and we cancelled our order. This was a total lack of customer service from the delivery manager, not to mention the incompetence on two deliveries to have non-servicable appliances delivered. We will NEVER deal with or recommend Fred's Appliance read more

My washing machine broke and it took about a week to get the guy to come look at it. Then when he diagnosed the problem as just being the latch he said it would take 5 business days to replace it. I was in the middle of trying to sell them and I called repeatedly and even went in to the store in Missoula, yet I never got an an answer on when it would be fixed. It has been almost 2 months and I had to sell the washer broken. Just received a call from them, no voicemail, even though I told them to call the new owner. Who knows if it's even fixed. Worst customer service and an absolutely terrible service department. Fortunately they don't exist around me anymore, but I will tell anyone to never use this company. This is the WORST customer service from any store we have ever experienced!! DO NOT SHOP HERE! We spent almost $20,000 on kitchen appliances at this store. They sold us a defective $2,000 Bosch cooktop that has never worked. Sent out a repairman twice to no avail. We have been getting the run-around for 2 months now. It's always the same thing at least 6 times now: call them and we get told they will talk to (fill in the blank)_____and they will call us back. They NEVER CALL BACK. When I said they need to exchange this and let them work it out with Bosch I was told "we sell a lot of defective appliances so if we did that we would have a whole store full of defective appliances". WHO SAYS THAT?? My husband just talked to someone there and told them this is the worst customer service and was told "no, Home Depot is worse". This is absolutely unbelievable and unacceptable. If we have to take them to small claims court we will. And we will be contacting the BBB to report them. read more

Bought a miele vacuum from them love the vacuum but had a problem call Fred's and was told they don't service them. When I asked who did the women said to call one of the vacuum repair stores they might work on it. I have bought stove three refrigerators 2 microwaves and one freezer from them. Fred's is the major appliance retailer in this area and carries an amazing inventory, when they have it, and fairly good prices. Their major downfall, and it is major, is their ability to get the product purchased to Spokane and delivered. I have ordered two different products, a dishwasher and a high end cook top withing the last 6 months and both times getting straight answers on delivery is problematic. They never seem to have the product in stock locally and getting it here seems to be a problem. Apparently they are at the whim of a truck from Seattle which will only come over when full. Not a very professional approach to retail sales at all, especially competing with online retailers who deliver quickly and efficiently. read more

The sales rep we worked with at the Indiana store was wonderful. However, with having to have service come out for each appliance they installed (builder installed others for proof of occupancy) I have had to have service come out due to each appliance being installed incorrectly or never installed at all in the case of the ice maker for my freezer. Getting on the schedule with service is a nightmare as it is and the schedulers are rather rude. If it weren't for the credit that came from the builder that my husband wanted to take advantage of (big mistake) I would have never gone with this company. read more

f I could give separate reviews for the technician and Fred Appliance Office ... The tech would get a 5 out of 5 and the people who send the bills would get 1 star out of 5... for the following reasons: The tech told me I would receive a bill in the mail for the "trip charge and labor". He said to ignore that bill and wait till the work was completed then pay that bill. Jan 25, 2016 The tech arrived on time with all the parts. After replacing the dispenser assembly the existing auger motor was now working and did not need the new auger motor. After the Evap cover was replaced the tech collected his tools and garbage and gave me his cell number to call if there was and problems. He also gave me the invoice for the ordered parts and explained that I would not be charged for the auger motor. He also said there would be only one trip charge and 1 hour labor. When Fred Appliance office sent me the bill they charged me for two trip charges and two hours labor and the auger motor that was sent back with the technician. And the invoice was only 2 line items so the extra charges and the auger motor were buried in one line. Fortunately the tech had given me his cell number so I called him and he contacted the office and had them send me a new bill with a line item for each part and separate lines for labor and trip charges. And I subtracted one star for: two out of three letters they sent me ... the invoice in the letter was glued to the envelope which required me to actually tear the invoice in order to get it out of the envelope!! The first time I called the office and let them know.. Which they responded with something like " It must have been an accident!". If I was a office manager there the first time I would have thrown out the glue and given them a scotch tape dispenser. The parts were guaranteed for 90 days but the labor was only good for 30 days. Which suggests Fred Appliance management doesn't care about the customer at all. Remove one star for that! Purchased all of my appliances through Fred's Appliances. I purchased the extended warranty for my refrigerator. LG refrigerators apparently are known to go out due to the compressor. I wish i would have been educated a bit more from my sales person, I would of never picked that brand. My compressor went out 2 weeks ago, to be exact on 04/10/2021. Called and they are 6 weeks out for someone to come and take a look at my fridge. How am i supposed to store my family's food for another 6 weeks? What is the purpose of the warranty? when it is costing me more to keep my food stored elsewhere for these 6 weeks and the hassle that my family is going through is priceless. Absolute worst nightmare for a cooking momma. I wish there were no stars to give this place unfortunately in order to put my review i have to give you one star. I Do not recommend this place. BTW! When I called to see if something was in stock at ding and Dent, I was redirected to some warehouse where no one answered the phone and there was no menu item that applied. Beware! Their service department is the absolute WORST! They don't even deserve one star. I bought five new appliances from them, but when the washing machine acted up (shook itself completely off the pedestal) the first time I used it, I called to get it checked out and serviced. I had looked online and it seemed like it was acting like the shipping screws hadn't been removed. I said as much to the technician who came out but he blew me off, turned the water on at the wall, turned the washer on for about ten seconds, and deemed everything fine. I found out a couple hours later that he never turned the water back off at the wall when I had a rainstorm coming through my ceiling downstairs. I called multiple times over several days and didn't even get a call back until I got a Sales Manager involved. The Service Manager who finally called back told me the technician denied turning the water on at the wall and when I said he was seen doing so and ultimately caused water damage in my home, the Service Manager had the audacity to say it sounded like a "he said, she said." After several more phone calls they finally agreed to send out a senior technician and, low and behold, the shipping screws were in there the whole time!!! Fred's refused to do anything about the water damage though. They're the worst!!! read more

We have purchased many appliances from Fred's and have had no problem with them. That being said one of our purchases was a Samsung French door refrigerator, we did take out the 5 yr extended warranty (thankfully) as we have had nothing but problems with this frig. Unfortunately Fred's does not stand behind their warranty; they send out a tech and they continue to replace parts over and over and at times telling us "this is a common issue with this frig and really not much more we can do" now the warranty states that if they cannot fix the product they will replace it, well guess what, they send out the boss who just replaces the parts again and does not want to talk about replacing the frig. They have been out so many times I can't even count. Last visit was to see why freezer keeps getting ice build up under drawers and the solution is to "shut off your fridge and let it thaw" Hmmm not a solution and very costly food waste. I have requested service again and how convenient that apparently our warranty has expired even though the issues are still the same and they want to charge me a service fee to come out and look at what they still have not fixed. I even have pictures of 2" ice buildup and the tech has actually seen it and we still get the same response. I'm currently in need of a new dishwasher and I will not be buying another appliance from Fred's. To note they have had to replace shelf brackets, a part that keeps freezing in the back of frig (common issue), replaced ice maker twice, replaced freezer door due to handle breaking because freezer vacuum locked due to ice build up (it did not stop ice buildup) and is still having same issue that they want to charge for. On 02/15/2015, we bought a GE electric dryer from the Missoula Fred's store. It NEVER worked properly (it sounded like it had a couple of tennis shoes bouncing around in it when it was running but empty, and it only got worse when clothes were added). After four months of thumping, Fred's sent a service rep to check it. He said he would order parts for it, but the original parts he ordered did not work in other customer's GE dryers (we weren't the only ones having problems with our GE dryer), so different parts were ordered. The parts never arrived. The Missoula store never notified the Spokane repair center of our problems, either, even though we called them repeatedly. In mid-July, the GE dryer stopped completely. We paid an electrician to check the house wiring, but that wasn't the problem ($70 wasted--thanks, again, Fred's). The dryer was just plain junk (I see it's no longer offered by Fred's either). Calls to the Missoula Fred's store were ignored. The Spokane service center notified us that the repair parts were in--after the whole machine stopped working--but we were tired of going without a clothes dryer--and NO return calls from the Missoula store. We bought a new dryer from Lowes (for half the cost of this GE junk), and this 6-month-old dryer is on its way to the dump. We bought a freezer from Fred's a year ago, but we will never buy from them again. Fred's service department had completely collapsed in my opinion. You call and leave a message (they never answer the phone - you have to leave a message). It doesn't matter what message you leave since they don't return the call anyway. You can call and leave as many messages as you want to - they won't answer any of them. You finally get through. They schedule someone to come. He doesn't call or show up. Back to calling - leave a message - no return call. etc. etc. read more

5-star ratings must be employees because I have yet to find anyone that had a good experience on the customer service side once the money exchanged hands. When a 3-month old dryer's heating element quits working and it takes more than a month (and counting) to get it repaired, I am not sure what customer service message that is sending. Maybe its only because of it being a warranty repair, but either way unacceptable. Maybe we will keep the Christmas tree up to hang the clothes to dry. Dealing with Fred's appliances was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in my life. We built a brand new home and our builder contracted with Fred's Appliances for all of our appliances. We received a fridge with a dent in it, a stove with a dent in it, a dryer that makes a rattling sound, and a dishwasher that didn't work at all. The doors for the stove and the fridge will take 6 to 8 weeks to come in I am tolf and scheduling a technician to come look at the dryer was a nightmare as no one would return my calls. Once they finally did they were a month out. The worst part was contacting them to try and get a new dishwasher. We were working with Steve and he was absolutely horrible. He would not answer my calls nor return them. He would have other associates answer my phone calls instead or have them call me back. My son has life threatening food allergies and not having a dishwasher complicated things for our family. I explained this to Steve and many other associates and trying to get a technician out to look at the dishwasher. They told me that it would be over a week. I told them that that was completely unacceptable as my son has many allergies. They did not care nor would they work with me. So I called JT who works at the Valley location who sold us all the appliances he arranged for us to pick up a new dishwasher. He was the ONLY helpful person that actually tried to make things right. So my husband and I ripped out the old one took it to Fred's returned it grabbed the one and installed. That one did not work either! Steve blamed our electrician so we had an electrician come out and look at the house...nothing was wrong. So then Steve said that he would send his own technician out ro looka the dishwasher it took three days for a technician to come to our home. The technician said it was a bad circuit board and that was most likely what was wrong with the fkrst one we had. We finally got a different model and that one did work it took almost two weeks to get this resolved. However, my builder is the one that ripped out the second dishwasher and got us the third. Fred's did nothing! There was no sense of urgency nor did they care about my son and my family. I have never been so frustrated in my life. I was ready to rip out all their appliances and have them come get them and take them back. I would never recommend them to anyone. I will never purchase anything from Fred's Appliance's again. I will never forgive Steve for not caring about me and my family. read more

My Property Mgr/Landlord had to replace my refrigerator as it stopped working. He contacted Fred's Appliance for a replacement. They call Thursday June 7, 2018 to schedule a day for them to delivery the replacement. We scheduled the delivery for Saturday June 9, 2018. They called Saturday Morin at Approx 7:30 AM to say they would be delivering it between 8:00 A.M & 10:00 A. M. They showed up at 8:00 AM. The Refrigerator they delivered was the wrong size. I was informed that they would bring out another replacement the right size on Sunday June 10,2018 or Tuesday June 12,2018. Saturday afternoon they sent another delivery truck with a replacement for the replacement, It Was the Wrong Size. I have called twice this Morin and have not received a call back. I have had to deal with my apt in a state of disarray & My kitchen is small now it is even smaller. My bedroom is almost totally inaccessible because it has my stove, microwave, cookware that hangs on a shelve, a book 3 shelf bookcase, numerous other items and I haven't even mentioned the furniture in my bedroom. My companion cat is upset that his place of residence is in disarray, He's world has been uprooted. I can't understand how a company like this one conducts business this way & remains open? If anyone is considering purchasing from this company I strongly suggest you keep looking. We purchased a Bosch dishwasher less than 30 days ago and it is just not working for us. I called the store today and spoke to whoever answered the phone. I told him my situation and asked if there was a return policy or what else he could do to help me. He said I could contact the manufacturer. He also said they (Fred's) did not have any kind of return policy. He said if they took back everything they sold that didn't work they would "go broke". No return policy...really? He told me I might be able to get new racks from the manufacturer, depending on what model I had purchased, but he did not offer to look that up or help in any way with that process. I am very disappointed in this response. I expected more from Fred's. If the customer service at Fred's is not better, why am I shopping local and paying more?
