The food is good but the fact that they dont fix the AC and it's 90 degrees in the restaurant is the reason I won't give them more then 2 stars. It felt better outside then in there. The kitchen how ever is nice and cold which is good for the workers but not the customers. I've gone in there maybe 3 times with 2 weeks between each time and everytime it's the same thing . As genuine Philly Cheese Steak you will find in the DFW area. Definitely the best I've had. The restaurant is small, but there's a nice vibe to it. Walls decorated with Philly Sports teams and players. This was my first time here, so I went with the double meat standard Philly Cheesesteak with mushrooms added. A side of sweet potato fries was ordered as well. Order is made fresh and on the spot, but it's worth the wait. The taste was excellent for both the cheesesteak and the fries. I definitely plan on coming back here again. Also, their house sauce definitely adds a nice taste to the food as well. My only complaint is, and it's super nitpicky, but they do charge additional for each topping you want to add (50 cents each), but this is hardly a complaint given the excellent taste of the food. It was ok. I got the regular cheesesteak. I'm not even sure if there was cheese on it. I think there was, but that's something I should KNOW. I don't think there was any onions or anything. I'm pretty sure they just gave me meat and bread. Either they screwed up my order, or they're just real skimpy on that stuff. It still wasn't bad. I might give them another shot. I thought it was kind of cool that they're right outside of Dallas, and their walls are decked out in Eagles stuff. The location doesn't look like much, but the food is pretty good. Had the philly cheesesteak and fries. The meat had a great flavor and the cheese and onions added to it. The only thing I would say negatively would be the tables and condiment bottles were dirty and the trash receptacles had ketchup on them so didn't want to push open to throw trash away. I've been going to Fred's since they were in that small spot over by the Valvoline. The old place had a horrific smell so I'm really pleased they moved across the street to a larger newly remodeled establishment. I had been going to this place for sometime and had a fellow co-worker transfer here from Philly where the mother land of Phillies are, we went to lunch to celebrate his joining the team where he was immediately comforted with a taste of home. Since their moving to the new place i couldn't tell if i missed it before but they have a HUGE menu of items to choose from. I usually get the 10'' with mushrooms, bells, onion, and banana peppers along with a side of their seasoned fried (amazing btw). My huge kicker is the Fred's sauce, spicy or original has me sold. From time to time ill try something new like their Fat Fred burger. One of these gluttonous days ill have the stomach for the Liberty Bell Challenge! Every time i come to this Fred's not only am i greeted with a smile, i am checked up on mid meal like clockwork. The location isn't hard to get to, plus its right down the street from my office. Very disappointing. Based on the reviews I was really expecting it to be great. It was not. The sandwich was just okay. The fries were so overdone they were like chips! This location is very clean and staff was super friendly. I had the veggie philly and my husband had the larger size philly - here's the exciting news, they have Cheese Whiz for the sandwiches! The fries are skinny and delicious. They make their own Fred's sauce and if you're brave enough, Fred's HOT Sauce, also very tasty. The only complaint I had was it was close to 100 degrees outside and it was about 85 degrees inside, but understand it's probably hard to keep cool with the direct sun and the grills going non stop. The Fred's House Sauce is so good, but even after being a regular for years, they still won't give me the recipe. This location is larger than most of the other stores and very clean. When it comes to the food, you just can't go wrong. I have never had a bad cheese steak here. Load it down with just about anything you want including spicy mozzeralla cheese sticks, italian sausage, chicken, peppers, and so on. The Fat Fred is another interesting twist -- think Cheese Steak Burger. Very tasty. Just can't recommend these guys enough. Don't waste time at 'the other cheesesteak place' across the road. Delicious sandwich is consistent regardless of location! Used to get lunch as often as I could when I taught near the 15th street location; now I drove home (from a different campus) past the Allen location and the cheesesteak sandwich is still as flavorful and delicious as ever. Gotta give special props to this location - this evening, my daughter and I went back out to the car to await our order of a large extra meat for my hubby and a regular for me (we can buy large bags of Utz BBQ chips at RaceTrac now) since another family had just ordered ahead of us and we were told it would be 7-10 minutes. Five minutes later, the cook personally walked out order out to our car! Now that's service!
