We all love Free People but this store is kinda lame. Why don't they feature their best clothes in store? I often feel disappointed by the inventory, but go online and find 20 things I love. This Sure is beautiful and well organized. I thought the clothes for Berry unique and really beautiful a lot of stores they go to of late very generic clothing. I feel like it's almost uniforms. Terrible customer service completely butchers the in-house shopping experience. Because Free People brand can be very oversized or a teeny tiny fit, it's best to try the clothes on. But this location proves to be awful, every time. Friends and family have confirmed their same daunting experiences and it's such a shame. This store also closes quite earlier than the other stores, due to "not enough staff." They're consistently hiring, but clearly aren't letting go of the rude, ignorant, and stuffy staff they maintain. If you're at the plaza, head over to Anthropologie instead, you'll have a 1000× better fitting experience and find better quality clothes, accessories, shoes, books, etc. read more

These girls are sooooo un friendly!!! They seem so young. One girl told me she does not help customers that she only dresses the mannequins. Which is funny because anyone in fashion knows that corporate sends you over a book to copy the mannequins so don't try and act all high and mighty. The two girls working the register would not stop gossiping about another girl they work with. Then wouldn't stop talking about a boy. I had to say excuse me I'm ready to check out just so they can give me a nice eye roll. These girls seem very spoiled and have no idea how to treat others. It' Just left this place. I went in to Free People today and was not greeted. I spent about 10 minutes in there checking out all of the clothes because I am attending a wedding soon and was hoping to find a dress there. It was not busy and there were a few other customers walking around the store as well. I did not get a welcoming vibe at all, if anything I think they just stared at me thinking I was about to steal something. The most unfriendly staff in the entire mall. I walk through pretty regularly and I can count, on one hand, the amount of times that I've actually been interacted with. I love free people but I honestly really dislike this store. I only go in to see things I've seen online, in person and I always end up ordering from Nordstrom or purchasing from Macy's down the way. Talk about NEGATIVE ENERGY. Isn't Free People suppose to represent a free spirited brand? You would think they would have staff living up to their vision. I have been here three times, first time was nice I was the only person in the store and a cute girl with long blond hair was there and was super friendly. The other two times, I came with my one year old daughter, I just got thrown blank stares or not even acknowledged. Nobody smiles. Or was helpful/friendly. The Free People Corte Madera is horribly staff. Everyone is so unfriendly, especially Kylie. She might just be super busy & under a lot of stress because she is the manager, but she always seems very very annoyed and is super unfriendly. I work as a Brand Manager in retail for a store that is #1 in customer service for our district, no matter where I go my expectations of good customer service are not only high for my staff but also for places I myself go to shop. I was so extremely disappointed with the way this store handled their customers. I was not greeted, checked up on or offered assistance. There were only three shoppers in the store and the two associates that were there were too busy talking to each other to even bother assisting the people shopping in the store. It got so bad that my own friend went to go grab a size for a customer who was waiting to be helped in the fitting room. SOMEONE WHO DOESNT EVEN WORK THERE WAS MORE HELPFUL THEN THEIR OWN PAID ASSOCIATES. Amber was so extremely rude to the point where she basically ripped the receipt out of my hand when I wanted to do an exchange but ended up just doing a return because no part of me wanted to give my money to that store. My advice to the employees, it doesn't matter what your customer is in the store for because at the end of the day they are still a customer who deserves to be greeted and offered your best assistance no matter what the situation. You are there to represent the company you work for which means you should have your customers best interest in mind at all times and not be putting such a bad foot forward. My advice to potential customers for that store, there are much better places to shop free people where your experience will be a lot less unpleasant. read more

Rachel is actually a life saver. I have a very difficult time finding jeans that fit me properly so I may or may not turn into a monster while jean shopping. Rachel was just as determined to find my perfect jeans as I was. I am actually an unpleasant person when I shop sometimes and Rachel was super nice and committed to getting it handled. I have never felt the need to post a review of a clothing store before, but the woman was so rude, I just had to express my discontent for this place. The store wals almost empty, and three people were working. No one greeted me. The sales person,possibly a manager by the paperwork she was holding, seemed to intentionally block my way from looking at anything, He entire body language was rude to the point where I gave up on the Item I was looking at and left the store. I will never go in that store again as people who treat others this way do not deserve my money. I am actually thinking of intentionally never buying an item of Free People ever again because of just how uncomfortable these people made me feel. Frazzled and running out of time, I raced into FP to find a dress for my wedding rehearsal dinner. I was greeted warmly by a friendly gal at the door. (I believe her name was Pearl) She asked me if I needed any assistance, I immediately unloaded my frantic panic for the perfect rehearsal dinner dress. Without hesitation she lead me through the store, picking out dresses according to the style and color I desired. Soon enough I found the perfect dress. Pearl helped me pick out accessories and shoes. She even helped me order the same dress in a color that was only available online! She had it rushed to my house at no extra cost to me! This store and their headquarters could not properly handle a $400.00 credit for returned merchandise. Even though they processed my return and gave me a receipt for the merchandise they never credited my credit card used for purchase. Even though I had a receipt for the credit, Free People headquarters refused to even talk to me and kept telling me I had to talk to the store, and the store employees kept telling me it was a computer error at headquarters. I ended up having to dispute the charge with my bank who then credited me the $400.00. BEWARE! read more

Pretty much everything I own in my closet is Free People. My boyfriend calls me obsessed. Their clothing is just so versatile and expressive. I love them! This is the closest store for me to go to, the next one is about 2 hours away. But I dread coming here. It's only for emergencies or to return things I purchase online. The good news is the store is well kept and they always have a variety of sizes even though the store is tiny. The unsettling news is that I never get greeted when I come in. The girls don't even acknowledge that I'm there. That's fine with me but when I would ask one of them a question I feel like I'm being a nuisance. They sort of just shoo me away. It's not a very inviting environment. Like you're at a party where you're clearly not welcome. I've been coming here since high school, a couple of years now and it's always been the same unwelcoming atmosphere. Lucky for me there's a friendly boutique (Ooh La Luxe) in my town that sells FP and they are wonderful and non judgmental girls who are very helpful. Hope this helps! read more

Nadine was amazing! I was on the hunt for a pair of overalls for a themed party event. I wasn't looking forward to this purchase and I feared I'd look like a five year old in a potato sack. Nadine was super patient and she took the time to help me find a something I loved. AND... she took the time to style me so I had an entire outfit. Wow. The service here is phenomenal. I've been looking for the flower power cardi in black in XS since they were on sale -- in stores only. I called around to the local Free People stores and all of them told me they were sold out and didn't provide any further assistance to help obtain the item. When I called here, the sweet gal said they were OOS, but offered to order it online for me and still apply the store discount. I went from =( to =). They really go the extra mile to make sure you get your Free People pieces before they are gone! read more

Wow, surprised at the bad reviews. We love the customer service and the clothing! We have been many times. Tonight, there was a super nice and friendly staff that helped my mom, me and my daughter (all three generations) find something unique in the store to get excited about. The best part of the visit is that we got a deal on fall displays and they were so helpful with making sure we could get it home without it falling apart. I also noticed how helpful and polite they were to another lady in the shop asking a lot of fashion questions. We will be back and we can't wait to see the winter displays! read more
