My first trip here in a decade or 2. Disappointing. Overall, the place needed a good cleaning. Steak left out on a cutting board and during the 15 minutes I was there, never touched. Really slow effort from the employees and seemed disorganized. Absolutely not helpful with my order. Good burrito with great service. The staff are noticeably more friendly than your average Chipotle. The ingredients also differ from competitors, like having Spanish rice and unique sauces. This location is clean, and wait times are not very long. Overall, a good spot for a burrito. read more

Not a great experience with the Chicken Burrito at Free Birds. I selected the fajita chicken and it was not good: not much flavor, had a lot of grizzle in it. It kind of tasted like genetically modified chicken - with a lot of water content in it - definitely cooled in some kind of chemical ice bath. Don't come here. This place is a joke; their employees are stoned all of the time. During the lunch rush they'll have only one or two employees working. Is corporate cheap, or were employees too baked to come to work? Who knows. I placed an online order today; 15 minutes later they hadn't even started it and acted affronted I was miffed they still hadn't begun. This location is a total write off. I came here because I was craving a freebird burrito, but was met with attitudes and eye rolls. The rice looked very overdone and the chicken unseasoned and cut incredibly small.. I like coming to freebirds, but don't go on Sundays if you don't have kids. Because kids eat free on Sunday it's entirely too busy. I waited 30 minutes in line this past Sunday just to get 2 nachos. The staff weren't managing it well and one family was ordering for 10 minutes straight because they wanted to sample stuff and let their kids order themselves. (There were 6 people waiting behind them as they took forever) I wish management would find a way to make the kids eat free faster like maybe having pre-made options. read more

Completely honest review here. I have nothing against this place, or an employee. I really want this place to be good. The food was absolutely terrible. I can deal with most things when eating/picking up food somewhere and still enjoy my experience....but when the food is so bad I wouldn't feed it to my dog, we have a problem. I ordered a bowl with steak and all the other things normally added. Rice, beans, etc... Awful, absolutely awful. The meat was as if it had been frozen for weeks and cooked before thawing. Had the consistency as if it was boiled in water. Not sure the meat ever touched a grill. I can only imagine the meats served would provide you a similar experience. Everything else in the bowl tasted like it had been sitting in my fringe for over a week. I've had better left-overs than this. Terribly disappointed. Again, I would love to love this place but it's quite annoying that you guys survived the pandemic and much better places did not. read more

Ok so stopped by the other day for lunch so I ordered a 1/2 of a burrito meal which it started at 6.50 when I paid they told me an amount of 16.00 and some change do not remember the exact amount so I did share with them that this is my first visit so as I was adding items off the table they never explained that you pay for every item individually and my chips were stale but the burrito was good but I do not like how you pay for everything even if you do not want it on your burrito but want it on the side and their machine was broken that printed out the receipts so He said he would bring my receipt to me but never did, so I never had a chance to see exactly what I was charged for, so needless to say I will not be back and I will just stay with chipotle at least I know what I am paying for read more

Wanted to really give Freebirds some props but it just didn't live up to the memories I had of this spot in my early 20s. I went here regularly probably over 20 years ago. The big burrito used to hit the spot and their sauces were always legit. I was pleasantly surprised when the foodie wife asked if we could grab a quick lunch there (to go). Totally random since we've never been there together in the 16ish years we've been together but who am I to turndown a Freebirds date. She saw they were doing beyond meat and cauliflower rice so we could go totally vegan. I (we both actually) decided to do a bowl with the beyond meat and cauliflower rice. Everything looked super good and the manager warmed up the line of servers by greeting us (everyone else was less than enthusiastic about being there). Half worn masks draped the place. Anyways on to the food. The cauliflower rice looked super tasty - a little browned just like I like it! I was annoyed to see the beyond meat was filled with potatoes. Super annoying when they are up charging $1.5-$2 just for that upgrade. Charge appropriately and dish it out well if you gonna do it. Everything else was fine and we were on our way. I topped mine off with some Vegan cheese at home and nuked it a bit for the melt. Overall it was ok but just not as delicious as I remember the spot. I am pretty sure I would have been super happy had I not opted for the 2 upgrades (cauliflower rice and the beyond meat). The cauliflower rice was actually super tasty but all them potatoes just made me feel like I was wasting calories that should have gone to some shoestring French fries!!! read more

My sister and I ordered two vegetarian bowls, one with beyond meat (about $10) and another with guac ($7.50), and while they were both tasty and filling, we both agreed there wasn't much flavor besides salt and pepper. The guac also had a chunky consistency, suggesting they'd been stored frozen and then thawed when needed. I also ordered two dressings for my bowl, but only one was included in the bag. There are some perks though! Get a free kids meal with purchase of an adult entree on Sundays. And if you sign up for the loyalty program, you get free guac and chips. read more

Background: fat man is not a fan of the major national brand that begins with a C. Fat man loves authentic Mexican foods. Fat man sees it as very reasonable to drive up to 50 miles for a good meal. Experience: fat man and friend were greeted almost immediately. Fat man got lonely as the built his friend's meal first. Fat man ordered a bowl. Also did chips and queso plus drink. Get off my case. I'm always reluctant to give low ratings but today at Freebirds was beyond disappointing. I use to come here often years ago and loved it! I heard they now have beyond meat as an option and I knew I wanted to try. So I came on by and there was no one in line but there were several workers behind the counter. I came in and stood there for about 3-4 minutes no one greeted me( and I know they saw me). Finally when someone did come they were not friendly at all. I mean maybe it was an off day but no friendly vibes given at all. I ordered a burrito bowl with a spinach tortilla on the side. I loaded it up the cilantro lime rice , beyond meat, tomatoes, guacamole, pico de gallo , salsa and cilantro. I thought it was a simple bowl but when I got home it did not taste good at all. It was not the fresh. The beyond meat tasted old and stall. I kept spitting it out. I threw out the rest of my bowl.The parts I did eat honestly is not sitting well. From having terrible service to stale food I just couldn't give this place being a one star. I will not be returning. read more

I've been here twice, had the burrito first, on my second visit, I had the salad and I don't know if I was starving or because I needed energy from my workout, but that salad was everything! What I like about Freebirds, is the variety that they offer. From the tortillas, to the beans, to the rice and even the greenery options for you salad. Iceberg is just not my favorite, no nutritional value, like crunchy pieces of water LoL...when they said that they had Spring Mix, I was too excited. It definitely made the salad. Loved the mild tomatillo salsa with the sour cream, before I started on Keto, the steak in the burrito was hot and seasoned, the chicken on my salad too! Another awesome thing, the staff is so welcoming and happy. This place was a mess, food all over the floor. Only a few people in line and it took a real long time to order our food. Only one person did the register, another doing online orders and one person making in store orders and all worked very slow. When we finally got the food, the rice wasn't even cooked all the way and was hard. They told my son that he could get queso instead of shredded cheese then charged us for the queso. I will not be going back to the Dallas location ever again. I really love Freebirds, but having a clean organized location makes all the difference. read more
