This place is the same. Same vibes, same food, and same excellent wait staff. I was sad to see desert racer go, but happy that Chuys found a great new home. I love the frog statues. They have been around for a very long time. I love that they keep moving around lower Greenville with the changing times. The food is what you would expect. Classic tex mex with a nod to New Mexico. It all felt nice and fresh tasting and not greasy like some places can be. We also ordered some micheladas. They make those with body mary mix which is fine, just not blow your mind good. You could probably same the same about the food. We will be back to try more. Nice open parking lot which is rare in this part of town. Give it a try if you are in the area. read more

This was the biggest Chuy's I've ever been to. It had a massive outdoor area and separate bar from the tables inside which made it a fun ambiance. We also accidentally came during happy hour so our queso was only $5! I got the two fajita tacos taco meal and they were delicious and filling. The chicken was moist and delicious. Our server came by a lot to refill my water and check on us which I appreciated a lot. You can never go wrong with Chuy's! read more

If I could give you a zero I would came into this restaurant about 8:40p. It was over 12 people waiting to be seated so we decided to have a seat at the dirty bar where there was napkins plates all not picked up. Bartender name started with a L took our order, brought us out cold food no chips no salsa but the couple next to us receive sauce and chips before us.... My husband asked for the enchilada sauce to be taken back because it was cold. She had the nerve to touch the bottom of the bowl and say it is warm... is it warm to my temperature or do you get to decide the temperature that I think it should be for me to eat? The place is beautiful aesthetically had to potential to probably even be good but with cold food, a dirty bar top.Maybe we should've just walked out with the other five people when they told us it was a 20 to 30 minute wait... y'all gotta do better read more

Zero flavor, zero spice, literally no salt or pepper, beans were dry, rice was dry, meat was dry. It tasted like they are cooking for 80 year-old white people who are allergic to spice. I visited this restaurant last year and had a decent experience, which is why I was excited to return and bring friends with me for National Margarita Day. Unfortunately, this visit did not live up to my previous expectations. When we arrived, I asked the three young ladies at the front if they could share details about how the restaurant was celebrating Margarita Day. They all laughed and said "No," then told us to "just go to the bar." My guests and I were honestly stunned. I initially gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed they just didn't know. However, the experience at the bar wasn't any better. After we sat down, the bartender looked directly at our group, took a slice of pizza from another employee, and walked to the back without acknowledging us at all. After about five minutes, someone finally greeted us. When we asked about Margarita Day specials...despite the event being advertised outside..we were told he wasn't sure that was even happening. Only after reluctantly checking with a coworker were we informed of the specials. Between the lack of professionalism, poor communication, and overall dismissive attitude, we decided to leave. It was disappointing, especially since I had such a different experience previously. I hope management takes the time to properly train staff and ensure they're informed about promotions being advertised. I would love to see this place improve, but this visit definitely missed the mark. read more

I had lunch surrounded by framed photos of puppies and dogs, so clearly there's a theme going on, even if it's unclear what it is. Just roll with it. I ordered the King's Combo, which I assume is an Elvis reference, though I couldn't tell you why? Either way, it was excellent. A greatest-hits platter of their best: crispy taco, cheese enchilada, beef enchilada, and more. Everything hit the spot. So yeah--definitely visit Chuy's. If you crack the Elvis mystery, let me know. The highly anticipated opening of the new spot was a bust! First of all, we were told the patio is only open on the weekends so we can't be out there. However, on our way out, a majority of the patio seating was filled. Not sure what's going on there. Second, talk about NO service. If someone isn't trained to know what a margarita "on the rocks" means at any Tex Mex place, we have a problem. Then after ordering a margarita, I get a shaker and a martini glass - I inquired again and go, are you sure this is a marg. Answer - yes but then I was charged for Mexican martini's which are not on happy hour. Asking for extra jalapeños and getting only 3 total (yes we counted ) with my boom boom pow app is also absurd. To top it all off, we asked to split the bill by seat (bc when we asked by couple, she looked confused) yet the check given to each respective person was all wrong. We decided we'd fix that along ourselves bc given the the service we got, we highly doubt it would've been fixed correctly and/or expediently. Had a great time here on Saturday, National Margarita day!! I called the day before to be sure they had something going on and they had several drinks specials. I opted for the $5 premium shot for my margarita on ice. Of course it was PACKED - as always and expecially because the sun was out & it was a great day for the people who live in the neighborhood to walk over. And this location is moving soon - due to development here. My friend & I managed to get seats near the front door so people-watching added to our lunch. We had the apps and drinks and got so full we didn't make it to the enchiladas I was dying for! From the time I entered the service was great, these people have been trained well. I was answered even as they ran by. The bartender was super busy but when I hesitated on which drink special I wanted, he stopped to explain what each one was. I took his suggestion of the shot, which was really what I wanted anyway, lol. But great service deserves a tip, don't forget! These people were working hard. Our server was friendly and didn't rush us. Food was served hot and timely and she checked if I wanted another drink but oops, forgot to notice my water was empty and the salty food and rimmed drinks make you thirsty for water. Had the most fabulous lunch today at Chuys. Walked in at 2:30, and was immediately seated. Wanted something filling but not too heavy. Decided on the appetizer sampler plate,lunch priced @$14! Had alittle of everything that I was looking for. The chips and the salsa were really good. Good combination of cilantro, onions and tomatoes. Chips were hot and a little salty. But still really good till the main course came out. The atmosphere inside is really cool and pretty eclectic. Huge bar area right by the front door. They have happy hour 3 to 5 daily and weekend specials too. The inside was very spacious with lots of tables and booths. Or if you want to sit outside, they have plenty of seating there as well. You can even look up and see the dancing frogs above your head. If you decide outside is your jam. My server was Melissa, she was very attentive and made sure I had everything I needed. Even gave me a to go water. I wish we had a Chuy's in Rockwall. They would definitely give some of our Mexican restaurants a run for their money. Just look at my pics! Queso with boom boom sauce looks like green pea baby food. The taste is just as awe full. The refried beans used taste of a can and there is no taste of queso at all. The frozen margaritas are good but not really strong. It's one of those places that gives you cheaper quality food and drinks, dressed up as Tex mex for cheap price point. Your body would thank you to visit a good Tex mex place such as Los Palmas or hit up El Tizoncito for their awesome frozen margaritas. Where just one is guaranteed to give u a buzz. I owed a neighbor a dinner and margaritas for watching our pets during our most recent vacation and have been busy, but I finally remembered he wanted to watch the NBA draft, so we went to our now, local Chuys for my first time and his second! We sat at the bar and Grace our bartender was very attentive! Something I have always enjoyed about Chuy's is the great colors, tile work and art on the walls, not to mention Elvis Fan!! We each got several combos of the frozen margaritas...my favorite was lime and strawberry. Got the fajitas and they did not disappoint, although I wished they had corn tortillas...Great location and great service...I will be back! :) --- Do advise to get there earlier or later, as the place does get busy during peak hours. read more

According to my previous review, it has been 13 years (!) since I've been here. Wow. I wish Yelp had half stars because 4 is a bit high and 3.5 seems more accurate. This is an iconic restaurant in Highland Park, which means it has been around a long time. Parking is still tough-to-impossible to find. We went for lunch on a Saturday. I like the ambiance and decor. It is funky and intended to be cool, although by now it is cliche and similar to liking a bad movie simply because it is so bad. The positives: -frozen margaria. Wow, really good. Fresh lime flavor, not some pre-made mix. -salsa is fresh and spicy -chips are light and not greasy -Elvis Presley combo is a good deal and tasty. You get a lot of food for $13 and the quality of food is good. The tortilla for the taco is homemade and fried in-house. The three enchiladas were good, although I could only eat 1.5 of them. The negatives: -parking, parking, parking. -the beef in the Taco Al Carbon was chewy, not tender, and had a lot of gristle. The wife hated it. -the cheese in the kid's quesadilla was velveeta. Really? She liked it only because she does know better. Whatever happened to real cheddar? Our server was working hard but had too many tables so she often was lost. We had to repeat our request for more salsa and to go boxes. With so many other Tex-Mex options in the Metroplex, it probably will be another 13 years before I return. read more

I had never been to a Chuys but heard great things about the Jalapeño ranch so that was my sole reason for going. I went for lunch and was given the chips and salsa both of which were incredibly fresh. The salsa still had foam in it from the blender and the chips were warm from the fryer. I asked for the Jalopeno ranch for my chips and the server kindly brought one for each of us. Also points that they give each person their own salsa bowl I love that. Well after we downed a whole basket of chips we were already full but I got the chicka chicka boom boom enchiladas which were delicious the sauce was perfectly spiced! But we went on a Friday towards the end of happy hour time (no, we didn't get happy hour pricing because we weren't in the over packed bar), and it felt like we were at a daycare. Nothing against kids if those who have them, but the entire patio was full of toddlers who were left to their own devices. My son ordered Ala carte the steak fajita medium......and they brought him it out well done I kid you not 3 TIMES. My food looked decent but was not good. My daughter enjoyed her basic tacos. I will never eat here again, no location. We had one in Orland Park, Il that did not survive because of gross food like this. The best thing on the table was my drink. Two thumbs down. The food at Chuy's is fresh and full of flavor. They provide delicious chips and salsa,some of the best I ever had. AND it is included in the price of your meal. Appetizer Playe is a Dream of delicious flavors. Even the flautas have great chicken in them. Most other restaurants fry a rolled corn tortilla and that is it! The chicken Fajitas my friend ordered looked fantastic and he was not willing to share. He has an allergy to onions so the set a large amount of red peppers around the plate the he enjoyed and it made the food look appealing. There is no better service than Chuy's employees. They are attentive but not overbearing or trying to hustle you out. The ambience is almost noisy but in a fun enjoyable way. My husband and I were so excited to come back and enjoy the food, service and atmosphere of the place. But once we walked in and sit at the bar the bar was messy had to ask to clean it. We were ready to order and i wanted 2 enchiladas and she telling me they cant so i got 3 enchiladas and she said okay and walk away thinking we were done. Had to keep telling her to fill up our chips our water was never refilled. We got a drink, 2 waters, chips and salsa, queso, the enchiladas, and 50 dollars item, and shrimp cocktail. All of it cost 140 not including the tip! They charge us 20 dollars for a serving fee FROM THE MACHINE! Not going towards her the machine. And the lady that serves us at blond hair or something like that she is terrible! The problem with Chuys is the delivery or pick up service. 75% of the time the order is wrong or missing an item. It is so frustrating because I brought this up with their management countless times. They just can't get it right. Chuys, place two people to check orders to have additional oversight on this. It is annoying to open up your food and things you were looking forward to eating are in fact missing. Do better for customers. read more

Oh chuys! This has been a favorite spot of mine since the late 90s in Austin! When I moved to dallas I started frequenting this location off Knox Henderson back in 2004 or so. It's always been super kitschy and they've always had plenty of jalapeño ranch on tap!!! I used to frequent the happy hours that had the free nacho car and discounted super larger martinis! I'm not sure they still do then nacho car but if they do, definitely check it out! Now I'm here normally with kids in town and they still deliver! It can get super crowded on weekend and even weekday dinners but they have quite a bit of seating so it's never really a huge problem to get a table. We always pair the chips with an endless supply of jalapenos ranch. I also like their chicken quesadillas and the chicken fajitas. They also do have a great kids menu. In my more youthful days I loved getting the chuychanga. It was like a delicious deep fried chicken burrito that was HUGE!! There are several cool rooms and a nice bar where you can wait as well. I definitely recommend checking out CHUYs for some good old Tex mex!! read more

Love the new spot, but the food was lack luster. I don't know if they treat to go orders differently, but my burrito was about half an inch thik with maybe 2 ounces of filling in it. If you guys need to make more money to cover costs, just charge 20 bucks instead of 15 and actually make a decent burrito. This only happens with to go orders so it must be a directive from management to cut costs for these orders. When I dine it it's a fat burrito and can't complain at all. This is just a review on their Togo orders. They definitely skimp a lot on Togo orders so make sure you look at your food before you leave. read more

So I crave chuys veggie enchiladas with boom boom sauce on like a REGULAR basis. When that craving hits it's usually when I'm driving home so I order to go, it can be hit or miss with wait times so I just add in an extra 20min and I'm set. However if you eat in house, the service is fast and efficient. This location is a bit smaller so there usually is a wait but once seated everyone there is willing to accommodate you and they get you those margs STAT. The salsa is one of my favorites and the beloved jalapeño ranch is amazing. Their queso is wonderful and the tortillas are fresh. Always a good Tex mex stop in my opinion. read more
