Chipotle who? This place has been a consistent fixation for a couple months now. You can tell everything is fresh! The serving sizes are big enough that I can have the same bowl for 2-3 meals. Very much worth the 30 minute round trip from work during lunch time, it's always busy inside, but the wait to order is never too long. The assembly line is clean and so are the tables inside. I've been here about a dozen times and the staff is very consistent with portions, I haven't had a bad bowl. I do wish I spoke Spanish, as sometimes there is a small language barrier. I like it that way though, the whole experience feels more authentic & it shines through in the food as well. My office caters breakfast tacos pretty regularly, and this is our new spot. First and only time I will eat here. Service was absolutely horrible. I was there for the first time 3/1/26 and the first woman on the line was absolutely no help on recommendations, when I asked. She just stood there and stared at me with a go to hell look, staring at me. I didn't even understand how to order or what's available on the "build your own," type of things that could be offered. I just ended up ordering two tacos. First I said corn tortillas, she reached into the refrigerator and pulls out a wadded up piece of tinfoil and the one and only tortilla came out of it. I told her never mind as I had zero clue how long it had been in tinfoil in the refrigerator....? The second employee had his fingers in my taco even with gloves on, it did not make any sense on why he was holding my taco in his hand... making an absolute mess of toppings on the line. Steak was chewy, the toppings were not fresh tasting and were too much when I did not ask for twice the amount, and the attitudes were terrible. Dining room was not very clean at all, which was a struggle to find a clean spot, despite mostly empty dining room. I sat down, ate one taco, and trashed the rest. I do not even know how 2 tacos were $16.00. Thanks, but for the first impression and visit, will be my last. & I thought Chipotle was terrible, nope that gets one star above this place, because I know that place has slipped over the last 6 years. The location was easy to find and the staff is nice. It's not a huge location but they have a small bar area. It was chill and casual on the inside. They did mess up my order because I asked for chicken and salmon and she gave me chicken and steak. Didn't want to be difficult and have them remake it plus the line was getting super long so I just went with it. They also ended up running out of guacamole when I placed my order. Yes...RAN OUT!! Luckily the person I was with was able to get some. We both agreed it was SUPER salty though. I will say they did end up bringing me some since they ended up making more. Since I did the build your own bowl, I'd give my bowl a 6/10. I did steak and chicken (even though I asked for salmon and chicken) with cilantro rice, black beans, cilantro, pickled red onions, jalapeños and the white sauce on the side. The chicken was dry, steak half cooked, veggies weren't ready so I didn't get those in my bowl. The chips were good and that white sauce is phenomenal. Chiloso is basically the mega mart version of Chipotle and I was in full "Make Me a Bowl" heaven. I was seriously impressed by the protein lineup: roasted pork, barbacoa, traditional taco meat, rojo chicken, grilled steak, grilled chicken, smoked brisket and that's not even including the premium options like salmon, tilapia, shrimp, and shredded chicken. The variety alone had me standing there contemplating life. Decisions Decisions Decisions The base options were just as stacked: cilantro lime rice, Mexican rice, refried beans, charro beans, and black beans. I built my bowl with traditional taco meat, Mexican rice, refried beans, queso, lettuce, corn, sour cream, plus a side of salsa and ranch. Oh and let me mention that chips and salsa are complimentary with your order. NO extra charges here! Love that. I also grabbed a kids' nacho with grilled chicken and the OJC mix (onion, jalapeño, cilantro). It was good, but whew it definitely had a kick. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. Next time, I'll probably go lighter on the lettuce because it kind of took over the bowl but that's an easy fix. I've been wanting to try this place for a while now and so I was glad to finally have time to go today (July 2025). I heard that it is generally similar to Chipotle's in that you go down a line and they assemble what you want as you watch. The description is accurate. There are more options for your main choice than at Chipotle's. I ordered one chicken taco and one shrimp taco. The chicken came on flour tortilla and the shrimp on corn. The chicken was tender and well marinated. It had a distinctive grill flavor that I liked. I added black beans, pico, corn, and tomatoes. It was one messy but delicious taco. The shrimp taco had a generous serving of shrimp which they cook to order. I got mine blackened. The shrimp were grilled perfectly and not overcooked. There is Cole slaw and fresh avocado. My avocado was not spoiled with brown spots, which is a real plus for me. The shrimp taco came with rice which was delicious. Both tacos were really good and I enjoyed them both, although I liked the chicken a bit better because of the grilled flavor. They also offer free chips which were light and not greasy, although they needed more salt. The mild salsa was a bit too mild for me and next time I will try medium or spicy. Service was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is clean and modern. The layout is a bit odd when you walk in but it's not a big deal. The main reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that the shrimp were not deveined, and we all know that means. Some people may not mind eating non-deveined shrimp, but to me it is kind of a big deal. I don't like shrimp poop so I had to block that out of my mind as I ate. Two tacos and a fountain drink with tax and tip was $19, so it costs a bit more than Torchy Tacos across the intersection. This place beach, chipotle hands-down I recently tried this out after I had family visiting who wanted to try this spot. I was surprised on how popular it was because from the outside you can't tell that it's a frequented place. They offer an array of TexMex dishes and are pretty hefty with the food portions. you pay around the same as you would at chipotle, but I feel like the food taste way fresher and they also have more options. Sauces provide free chips with your meal and also offer alcohol beverages. The customer service is inconsistent, which is my only flaw. However, it's definitely a place. I frequent it in the past couple of months and recommend for anybody to try out if they're looking for good Tex-Mex options that are pretty affordable. read more

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with a recent order placed for pickup at chiloso establishment. I ordered through Uber, and the app indicated my food was ready for collection. However, upon arrival, my order was not prepared, leading to an unexpected delay. After finally receiving my order, I discovered that key ingredients, specifically cheese and queso, were missing from my meal. More concerningly, as I began to eat, I encountered numerous hard and black chunks throughout the food. This made the meal unappetizing and forced me to discard it. Given these significant issues with both service and food quality, I will unfortunately not be returning to this location in the future. I definitely will be wanting a refund on my food. read more

I am really disappointed with my latest experience. The couple that was in line before my son and I left instead of ordering. The service has clearly declined with all the new young workers. As a certified food manager I noticed so many things wrong I ended up only ordering a large queso to go, mind you this is $17. When I got ready to pay I noticed they put a dirty lid on. I couldn't tell if it was a dead roach or just some grease. They also were giving me the tiny bag of chips?!?! I paid $17 for this? The kitchen was dirty, the workers weren't always wearing gloves, touching their faces and hair. Their drink cups up in the kitchen area that we can see. Management needs to do better and not leave untrained inexperienced works to handle the kitchen.. Needless to say it will be a while before I visit this location again. We eat here a couple times a month. Tonight was the first time we went inside, ordered, and took it to go because my one year old was not having it tonight. I ordered, along with my boyfriend and our ready for bed son. When we finally got home I opened up my container and realized there was hardly any food inside. Like I said, we eat here all the time and they have always had great portions. So I decided to call and let them know there was plenty of empty space left over in the bowls and that's usually not the case. The first person I spoke to was a super helpful man who insisted I talk to the manager, because "they always want their customers happy." The manager gets on the phone, and I explained the situation, told her I did not want or expect a refund, I just wanted her to know that it was not how it usually is. She got very defensive, and told me I should have paid more attention and told them I wanted more food inside my bowl. I again said I had my one year old, and was not leaning heavily over the counter to check the progress of the bowl. I assumed the portions were always the same. So I literally asked "So in order to get a full portion of rice and meat, I need to clarify that I want the normal portion?" to which she responded "Yeah you should have made sure before you left." All this being said, she could have easily apologized and said she'd be sure it didn't happen again but chose to get defensive and blame me for not overseeing the bowl being made. 18$ down the drain because the ingredients weren't great either. The location in Richardson is hands down way better and worth the drive. Shame on the manager, but thank you to the man who was so kind before her. The guy behind the counter has no knowledge about cross contamination. He had gloves on then stared to prep my food, while he is doing that a friend or coworker came and shook hands. Right after shaking hands with the gloves on he grabbed the cheese. Immediately I let him know what he just did and put the cheese back. We went to Chiloso located at Casa Linda for a dine in dinner. This was our second time there because we enjoyed the food during our first visit several months ago. With that being said, we will NOT be patronizing this location again due to the following observations: 1. The cook dropped a spatula on the floor (I heard it and witnessed it) then proceeded to pick it up, wipe it off with a towel and continue to cook the meat on the grill. No change of equipment was done. Nasty and against ALL health department guidelines. 2. Another employee was wiping off the food trays used by customers to carry food to the table (no dishwasher was involved). Fortunately, we did not contract any food borne illness and will not give them another chance to make that happen. I own a business that create things people eat and undergo inspection by the health department (even on the state level once). We NEVER reuse something that hit the floor without it going through the wash, rinse, sanitize and air dry process! Even if I didn't own a food business....Nasty is Nasty especially when it comes to something I or my family is going to eat. read more

The important part is the food but they're stingy if you don't ask them to put more on the plate they'd put nothing if they could. No wonder every time we go it's empty. The customer service dont even get me started with it. This time I went alone and had lunch. my stomach started hurting not even an hour after I ate there...proceeded to have a 2 hour drive back to my hometown. I woke up this morning throwing up so much. I complained to their corporate office maybe about a year ago and they really didn't seem to care or try to fix the situation. I took a long Chiloso break. I decided to give them another shot since it had been awhile. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and politeness. I told my husband we should consider adding it back to our list of local take out spots. Silly me. I went back a week later (9/7) and the guy working the good line had just popped some food in his mouth and began to chew as he asked me what I wanted. Ugh.... I order my food nonetheless. When I got to the register, the same man I originally complained about was so unnecessarily curt and full of dirty looks. I don't know why me order a kids nacho bothers him so badly.
