I've been coming to freebirds for the better part of twenty years. I think I may have had my last visit. I ordered for pickup so I couldn't watch them make my order. When we got home it was completely botched. We only ordered two things and they messed both up. The steak bowl came with zero meat, zero cheese or any other toppings that were requested. It was just rice, beans, cilantro, and sauce. Not even the sauce I ordered. For the second entree I had a steak freebirds. I requested, and paid for it to be on the hero tortilla. It wasn't listed on the side of the burrito like normal so I guess it didn't make it to the staff when they keyed the item. It also had cilantro rice on it. I can't eat cilantro. I ended up giving up on it and giving my meat and cheese to the person who ordered the bowl so at least one of us could eat. Now I'm out $40 and still hungry. I was told the bowl we crafted was still terrible and it got thrown out. I tried I guess. read more

So so SO disappointed to hear that they no longer have the BBQ sauce options for burritos. Apparently, the BBQ sauce station was discontinued during COVID and never came back. They used to have one called "badass BBQ Sauce" that was INCREDIBLE on a burrito. Now, without that, this is just another burrito place. Nothing special about it. They ALSO no longer offer the spinach tortillas. Just plain or some orange spicy one. Basically, everything I loved has been taken away. I will NOT be coming back because there is no longer a need to. I can go to any burrito place and get the same exact thing for less. So unfortunate. read more

I absolutely LOVE freebirds! It's wayyyy better than Chipo IMO. It's a similar premise, bowls and burritos, but Freebirds has a lot more variety including various sauces. Unlike Chipo's powdery yuckiness, the queso at Freebirds is Creamy and tastes great! They also offer cayenne or low carb tortillas as well as cauliflower rice (upcharge, of course). I hate that there aren't as many locations so convenience could be a factor, but if you have one within reach, TRY IT! so worth it! Sometimes i drive way out if my way just because im craving it. I've never had anything but positive service experiences at this location so it's a win there too. read more

We had never been at Freebirds before but we stopped by to take advantage of the "Kids Eat Free on Sundays" and we were very disappointed. The portions are very small, the food lacked flavor and the price seemed high for the amount of food you got. The kids's meals were flavorless. Bad tortillas with very little cheese, very liquid refried bens and tasteless rice. Overall, I would say Chipotle is far better flavor, quantity, quality and value. Finally, the restaurant was almost as cold as it was outside (37 degrees) we were freezing even with coats on. Our kids' food got cold from the cashier to our table. The service was ok, not bad but nit extraordinary. Sadly, we won't be back. I would rather pay full rice for a tasty meal than half price for terrible one. read more

Freebirds as a chain has a great product, but this location is terrible. I placed an online order and you can see in the attached what the bowl looked like when I got home with my order and opened the lid. It looks like someone has already eaten half of it. Additionally, I ordered a monster burrito for my daughter, and comparing with my wife's freebird size, I couldn't tell the difference in the amount of toppings. I stopped going to this location before because I had problems with order accuracy, but tried them again because the location at Preston & Headquarters is so much further. But I won't be coming back to the Canyon Creek location; just sad. read more

I should've known this place was ass when I walked in and saw that the worker looked like my ex that cheated on me and told me I'm going nowhere in life, not to mention that the workers mask wasn't covering his nose properly. You'd think the young lady making mine was making it for a 3 year old - THE SMALLEST BURRITO EVER. I wish I took a picture to show the difference in our burrito sizes. The two same associates were eating behind the line one associate with long red braids did not have a hat or any type of hair net. Then the associate went outside and started smoking a cigarette. Such a yummy spot! Been driving by Freebirds for months now and finally decided to stop in and I am soooo glad that I did! The staff were super friendly and helpful and just made me feel very comfortable and wanted! I got their chicken burrito bowl with their habanero sauce on top and on the sides. Oh wow! It was so much better than I expected! The staff told me that they are better than most of the burrito spots around and they were telling the truth! I wanted to keep eating more and more and did not want to stop!! This will definitely be my go to spot when I need my spicy chicken bowl fix!! read more

Went to try the new potatoes item. Left with salmonella. Firstly, when I entered freebirds today I was greeted with workers improperly wearing their masks, their noses completely exposed. Secondly, the portions were off tremendously as my monster burrito was the same size as a freebird burrito. Third and most importantly, every bite I took of my burrito tasted worst than the last-- and that's coming from a regular freebirds customer. At first I thought they had seasoned things wrong but upon opening to finish my burrito when I got home and inspecting earlier pictures I had taken of the atrocity that me and the two people with me ate, I noticed pink, raw, uncooked chicken. The gentlemen that were serving today I didn't get a chance to retrieve their names, but one had tattoos all over his arm, the other tall brunette with glasses, and I think the cook with long hair and bangs. So angry. And horrified. Serving undercooked chicken during a pandemic and not taking COVID protocols of wearing masks correctly too? Disgusting. Wanting to try something close and Tex-Mex I checked out Freebirds. For starters - maybe I should have ordered a burrito instead of two puny taco's. Food: I left hungry. Period. They must have 30 toppings but they put maybe a small tea-spoon in each. I had to tell the server "more please" three times. I think that got me three leaves of cilantro. Could not even see or taste the beef. Ended up going to the counter and handing them a condiment container and telling them to fill it all the way with the corn salsa. Price: Two puny almost empty flour tortillas plus chips and queso and a drink set me back close to ten dollars. See receipt in photos. For half that at Taco Cabana you get about a half pound of steak fajitas, complimentary chips and all you can eat fresh condiments. Service: Nice but no one checked on me. Personally I would have checked on any customer taking photo's of everything. Abviance. Probably better at lunch. Fairly empty until the bikers and Asian UTD students showed up. I've been a big fan of Chipotle's but Freebirds is just so much better. Their variety of everything is just so much better like a selection of wheat, flour, spinach or my favorite, cayenne tortilla's. The normal size is just about right for me. Their meats etc is not greasy like Chipotle's and you don't have to worry about consuming +1100 calories like at Chipotle's unless you go for the Monster burrito or even larger. There are so many different things you can add to your burrito and everything looks so good and fresh. I like their Fanatics program where you can get some free stuff like t-shirts if you buy x number of their burrito's. The only downside is that they have so few locations, it's a pretty long drive for me. If you like Chipotle, give Freebirds a try, you won't regret it. read more

Went to this location today approx 6pm. I was the only one in the store for a pickup order. Absolutely rude! There were 2 women behind the counter who never greeted me as I walked in. 1 had pink, blue hair blend. I told them the name of pickup. They never acknowledged or gave any time frame of when order would be ready. They continued to talk to each other as they worked. I went to sit on a chair. After I sitting for approx 10 minutes I was handed the order. I said Thank you (crickets) I moved my phone aways from my ear to again say Thank you so much loudly to the woman so she would know I was taking to her. She never said a word. I will not be back.
