This company is a legit loan company but they scam you for every penny they can if you are not paying attention. I often make extra payments to my loan companies but this is the only one who takes money from those extra payments and applies interest to it. I fight with them every month insuring it all goes to the principal. They blame "Their Computer" as it does not recognize extra payments towards principal. DO NOT TAKE A LOAN FROM THIS COMPANY. BEWARE they charge three dollars to make a debit card payment AND they only allow 1500 dollars at a time. So YES they punish you for early payoff. The payoff amount changes daily. I logged into my bank on their app to pay in full and it's not even pending to pull out of bank then kicks back with a 50 dollar penalty. (They literally had the account with a ? mark. Like 123=?) So I try to make multiple payments with my card despite the 3 dollar charge and my debit card isn't valid. It's a Visa debit card! Make it make sense. read more

This is absolutely a predatory lender. It was one of two options offered for my new Zero XE, and had I known how shady they are, I would have just paid cash. Tried to pay off the loan on the second month. Called and got the payoff amount and sent the check same day. The following month received a call that the account was past due. Showed a balance of just under $100. Thought it was probably my mistake so I immediately sent out a check. I should have checked first - I did pay the correct amount the first time. The NEXT month, same thing. Call stating account past due - mind you both times no statement in the mail until about 2 weeks after the calls. This time over $20 owed? Claiming that there is still principal owed after the initial payoff and a bonus payment? Lawyers will get involved if I get another call next month. read more

I was recommended to Tom Collins / Freedom Road Financial through the CFO of my work. It took several calls and emails before I initially reached Tom. Once I did, the experience just went downhill. We finally connected around 8:30 pm on Thursday, March 27th. He seemed incapable of properly completing my application, and we had to disconnect while he figured out his system. That seemed curious, but technology happens. I had been traveling and had an early and busy day the next day, so we agreed to connect on Friday. (I will say he did say A.M., but I didn't put much stock into the time as Friday was still considered a business day.) Friday morning was busy for me, as expected. I didn't get a chance to call until 12:40 PM and left a message. I didn't hear from him. A week went by and I text him, stating I never heard anything about my loan inquiry. His responses were incredibly unprofessional, accusatory, and rude, and he took no responsibility. Friday, April 4 from Tom: "Last Friday AM you were to call me, that was the window available before I went on vacation. I am in Florida for spring break with the family." ----Okay, first of all, I didn't know he was going on vacation. That was never expressed to me. I responded with a screenshot showing I did call and that he failed to return my call. His response: "You didn't call me in the morning like you said you would, it was 12:40pm EST. I was done and on vacation at noon. That's on you. Don't try and flip it, that's not going to work for you." What a shocking response. Again, I had no idea he was leaving for vacation and never agreed to calling in the AM. So what, a minor miscommunication. But what I don't understand is why he couldn't have followed up with me. Also, I understand things happen, and a polite message explaining the disconnect would've gone a lot farther. This is how the owner talks to and treats potential clients, I can't imagine how much worse it could get doing business with him. I don't trust this company. Payed my motorcycle off in 1/3 the term of the loan and now I've been waiting 30+ days for the overpayment. They say they hold the credit for 30 Days after the loan is payed. All my paperwork is correct except my official NH State Title, FRF says its not their problem. I talked to a guy named Dylan at "Finance This" about a PWC loan. I told him that I would only consider their offer if they could agree not to do a hard pull on my credit. He asked me to take a picture of myself and my ID. I told him that I would have to think about it. This company has a website so poor, it would give one of those Taleo job application sites a run for their money. The account log in setup is so weird, it never seems to accept my first input, and only seems to accept the 13 digit account ID instead of a user name. It never describes errors, it will lock your account without notifying you, and resetting your password or performing a recovery is a slow process, since I guess the emails have to be routed through a server on the moon or something. Customer service isn't that helpful, just letting me know that they have lots of alternatives like mailing a check, setting up autopay with my bank, or using the phone. I don't know why fixing their website isn't one of the options. I'm literally trying to give them money, and everything about their website seems to discourage it. read more

OK, the website could use a lot of work, but frankly I have never had a problem with this company. They did what I needed them to do, finance a motorcycle for me. They didn't charge an outrageous interest rate, they allowed me to overpay my loan without any issue, and when I made my second to last payment, I called them up. Turned out I only owed about $8 on my loan at that time, and they simply waived that payment completely. No issues, and the lady helping me at the other end of the line even walked me through how to turn off the auto-pay feature (which WAS non-intuitive, I will state). I really don't have any complaints about this company and what they do. read more

My experiences on the phone were fine. Not great, but not terrible. Medium hold times, customer service agent was reasonably knowledgeable. The website, however, is just horrible. When it works, it's barely usable and does not provide much information. More often than not, it just states that there was an system related error processing my request from some netteller site, saying to contact them if it persists. My interest in contacting a company regularly because their website is not responsive is very low. The point of on-line management is ease of use and low time cost. Good experience with my first loan and even better with the second loan. My first loan was easy, I set up auto pay and forgot about it. I called to pay it off and stop auto pay. Very simple. I spent little time on hold. They sent me my title quickly. My second loan is new. I called because I couldn't remember my login. I was only on hold for a moment. They helped me get logged in and sorted out changing the login to something I would remember. Then helped with setting up auto pay and a one time payment. It turns out I entered my account number wrong. I got some random emails making it look like there was an error and I should check in. After I did i realized my payment was returned. So I called again, and once more was only on hold for a few seconds. The lady was nice and told me my error, helped me fix it and requested a reversal of the late fee. Overall I am using FreedomRoad Financial a second time, and I would use it again. Short phone wait. The website could be a little better, but overall it works. read more

I guess FreedomRoad Financial is looking to deal with a lot of defaults when they make a major change like this and cut off the payment portal to people making the payments. If possible you should try getting your loan with another, more apt, company. Their interest rates aren't that great either. Had to use them out of necessity. They're a step above a payday loan center. The worst financial company ever let's start off with in 2018 they financed my new KTM 690 paid that loan off never late then 7 months ago they approved me on my 2022 KTM 890 adventure no issues there great interest rate. So then I applied for financing on a new specialized full suspension electric mountain bike about 9k they approved it this was only 4 days ago drove 2 1/2 hours to pick it up got home later that day. Only to them sending the power sports dealer a letter stating after they approved it that they wanted me to pay off the loan on my 890 first which I just bought 7 months ago. I'ver never felt the need to sign up for a yelp account and complain about something.... until not. FreedomRoad Financial handled my GAP insurance claim, and how it was handled was pretty darn annoying! I had a crash that happened on October 1st, sadly on a brand new bike. Geico paid out a lot of money within days, Freedom Road took almost 5 months to pay out significantly less. My claim was always 'processing' or was with another department, or with underwriting, never ever getting a call from my assigned adjuster to my account. I kept thinking, why is this taking so long, and then it became clear. As long as the loan is still active, you still have to make payments on it. So the longer they make you wait, the more payments you make, and the less they need to pay. Now i was told that the amount they would send would be the GAP at the time of the accident. This was NOT the case! Their story will be that it went to under writing and "this is what they calculated". but amazing that their calculations included my payments i made for 5months. It's pure insurance strategy, and is the reason why they never ever called me when there was an update with my case, and i always had to call them. They want it to be slow, drawn out, with everything taking "2 weeks to a month". Remember, this is a service i paid for. So... avoid at all costs, unless you're ok with waiting close to half a year to get your payment. Kudos to Geico for behaving in the way they did with the claim, giving me good contrast as to how it should be done! read more

Literally the biggest run around anytime. Website password always needs to be reset and when I try it says I need to call. I call and its the same story, "sorry we updated our online platform would you like to reset your account and make a payment" Autopay was stated by customer service to be current only to get a call a month later with a missed payment. On 2 other occasions they pulled from 2 accounts being I had to reset a NEW online profile only to charge that and my old one. They set up automatic payments for my husband over the phone for the wrong amount, and say we did it ourselves from a account we couldn't even access at the time. And we keep losing access to the online account, even had customer representatives on the phone reassuring my husband he didn't have a payment due (which was due that day).... just to look the next day and he did have a payment due that was now overdue and BAM! late fee. I bought a motorcycle from Triumph San Diego and unfortunately was stuck with this company as a loaner. Most interactions except for small few were unpleasant. Their website is hard to work and very unintuitive. When I finally called for a pay off amount for the loan I was not told auto payment would still be deducted and either advised to wait or take into account the auto payment. I had the foresight to cancel the auto payment on my own and then called in for assistance. I was given no remedy and was intimated that it was my fault for not reading the fine print on the site. I now have to wait 30 days after closing out the loan for my refund. Glad to be done with them. read more

I just recently purchased a bike from a dealer near me who uses freedom road. By far the worst loan experience I've ever had by a long shot. I could not log in online or over the phone because it turns out (despite appearing on my credit report), someone had assigned THE WRONG SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER TO MY ACCOUNT. I told them I refused to pay until this was sorted out. The first person said it would take 48 hours to get corrected. Weeks go by and nothing. Then I start receiving daily phone calls and emails asking why I haven't paid yet. I eventually got someone else on the phone who said they would get back to me after the holidays because their staff was out. Fine, sure. The following Monday, nothing. A week goes by and I email this rep asking what's going on. She tells me that the late fee will not be removed. ????????. I asked directly about the status of the social attached to my account, to her credit she apologized for confusing another case with mine and said she would get back to me later that day or this past Monday. Nothing. I email again. Still nothing. Now it's closing in on the 29 day date to when my credit would be dinged so I gave in and paid the first month. Who knows if I'm paying my own loan though. If your dealer uses this service or you are looking to get a loan through them, avoid at all costs, just find another bike or get a loan from another service. read more

Regardless of the circumstances surrounding my loan, the way Katie treated me over the phone is appalling and I'm shocked that anyone working anywhere would get away with treating customers in such a callous and unprofessional manner. When I asked for a bit of kindness and empathy, Katie said, "Listen, LADY, I'm sorry that the representatives who helped you in the past didn't make notes on your account" and abruptly hung up the phone. What kind of person acts like this? I understand that Collection departments are brutal to work in, and that not everyone has the skin to work in such a high stress environment, but I don't believe I acted in a manner that warranted her response. She, on the other hand, went out of her way to make me feel miserable after wrecking my motorcycle and having to go through a series of life-changing events as a result. FreedomRoad has been a hit or miss ever since I started with them. You would sometimes get the kindest, most helpful reps (despite the $9 over-the-phone payment fee), and sometimes you would get... Katie. And I know Katie will continue to work there, berating customers whenever she feels slighted; but if she or anyone else working at FreedomRoad cares at all for customer feedback: be professional, don't take things personally, and for the love of God, don't hang up the phone on the people who help keep the lights on at your office. read more

Then I told him I paid it off and had the receipt and was told "no you're wrong." I was just trying to give them about $4k and it was such a hassle. I will never use this company again.
