This review is based on text messages, signed paperwork, invoices, photographs, and records I retained throughout the process. I brought my 2019 Buick LaCrosse to Freehold Buick GMC for a transmission concern. On May 4, 2026, Service Advisor Carmen Semenza told me the service contract claim had been denied. I clearly declined the transmission replacement and said I wanted my vehicle returned. My vehicle remained at the dealership for 31 days. On May 8, Carmen told me the transmission had already been disassembled, described broken parts in a tray, and said there was no guarantee the vehicle could be put back together. When I inspected the car the next day, the transmission appeared to still be installed. The driveshaft had been removed, exhaust components had been cut or disconnected, and a replacement transmission was under the vehicle. What I observed did not appear consistent with what I had been told. On May 12, Service Manager Bill Marter told me I was financially responsible because the replacement transmission had already been ordered and could not be returned. I repeatedly requested the written policy, authorization records, and documentation supporting that position. I was never provided with them. When I tried to escalate my concerns, Bill told me that he did not report to the General Manager. My requests for dealership ownership to review the matter also went unanswered. This left me with serious concerns about accountability and where a customer can turn when a major service dispute occurs. I also received multiple missed completion dates and inconsistent explanations throughout the process. The original signed agreement stated that the exhaust and transmission would be installed for $4,000 plus tax. At the last minute, however, I was told the amount was a "deductible." When I picked up the vehicle, the final invoice instead listed a "Misc. Charge" and referred to a GM claim and deductible. I do not have a GM service contract. My contract was through a non-GM third-party provider. No GM pre-approval was attached to the invoice, and no New Jersey sales tax was charged even though the signed agreement stated $4,000 plus tax. I was never given a satisfactory explanation for why the description of the charge, the contract classification, and the tax treatment changed. After 31 days, I paid the amount demanded to regain possession of my vehicle. I do want to thank Anthony, who treated me professionally, listened to my concerns, and helped move the process toward finally getting my car returned. My advice to other customers is to get every authorization, estimate, coverage decision, parts order, charge, deductible, and cancellation policy in writing before allowing major work to proceed. Based on my experience, I would not return to Freehold Buick GMC for service. read more

Came in ready to buy a Hummer EV -- they had plenty sitting on the lot. Multiple salespeople saw me, walked right by me, and didn't say a single word. Not even a 'hello.' I stood there clearly waiting for help, and no one cared. Absolutely unacceptable service. I walked out and won't be coming back. A final price was communicated to us by Bruce and my wife had a cashiers check drawn for the agreed upon amount. We then drove to the dealership to finalize. Upon arriving Bruce proceeded to "explain" to us that he would not be able to sell us the car at that price and either my wife would have to pay $2500 more for the car or her parents would have to pay $170 more per month for their new lease. I had the pleasure to enter into freehold GMC with my vehicle on a flatbed the mileage was 59,000. They refused work on my vehicle told me to get out of facility and my vehicle mileage now at 60,004 miles. My girlfriend and I were in need of a new vehicle and what we wanted Freehold GMC had. When we first walked in they were understaffed (which is understandable with the "virus") we waited for a bit and Christian came to help us. Christian was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. He was 110% transparent and worked with us to get the vehicle my girlfriend really wanted. The whole process was very simple and easy (which is usually never the case in buying a vehicle). All the numbers were laid out in front of us, nothing was hidden. I would definitely recommend this dealership as well as deal with Christian again. This is the way buying a car should be. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! I wish I could give this dealership zero stars because that is how disgusting our experience there was. Im not sure whats worse, the sales department, service department, or general manager. I recently leased a 2022 GMC Acadia Denali because my GMC Terrain lease was up. There was not much to choose from but I was at the very end of my lease. Although the sales team inflated the price of the car immensely, our hands were tied and were forced to pay an astronomical car payment (as every other dealer these days). But that wasnt the issue. The issue was upon picking up my vehicle, the sales department ran my credit 3 times without permission as well as my husbands 1 time. When i went to the dealer to pick up the vehicle, the salesman, manager, and payment department all had different answers as to who the car was under. no problem i overlooked it. I went to inspect the vehicle before leaving.. damage to the sunglass holder, stains on the sunroof shade, and scratches on the car. The salesman proceeded to tell me that if i didnt like it he could put the old plates on my old car and i didnt have to purchase it. The general manager then got involved and said he would order me a new shade for the sunroof as well as a new sunglass piece. I had no problem with taking the vehicle and bringing it back to have the new pieces put on. I dealt with the small scratch on the side. As time passed, during the transaction, he proceeded to try and buy me off by saying "instead of the parts would you just like our extended service package for free" I said absolutely not and asked him to order the new parts for the car. When the parts arrived I dropped my car to service and DID NOT receive a rental car as I was promised on the initial day of the purchase. I let it go... The next day the service department calls and tells us the car is ready. I drove 30 minutes to the dealership to find the job half way done, as the sun shade was never replaced but the sunglass case was. Leave the car there for yet again another day to have the job completed. This time I was able to get my rent a car. Two days later i go back to the dealership to find the shade yet again not changed (theyre claiming they changed it). Yet, the shade still has the same stain, this time even bigger. In addition to the old damage the whole headliner of the vehicle also has water damage. Upon approaching the manager he responded "well i dont know how water got there " meanwhile, the car has been in their lot for over a week. The general manager began to get loud with me in the middle of their dealership and refused to come outside to look at the water damage. He finally came out to look and proceeded to call me a liar and that theres no water damage. The pictures show water damage clear as day. I proceeded to leave the car there to rectify the issue once monday rolled around again and service was in. nowwww the story is that the service department accidentally stained the headliner and they had to steam it thats why theres water stains. They claimed the car was in service for over 5 hours going through water tests etc. Fast forward to today when i picked the car up for the final time and guess what.....THERES STILL WATER DAMAGE ON MY HEADLINER. Corporate GMC is now involved along with many other higher ups. Hope my rant could help somebody before going to this joke of a dealership!!!! read more

Wanted to lease 2 Buick SUV 's from them and started off great with a nice salesman. I won't name names. What I can tell you is I was completely honest from the start. When I brought a competitive price to match he said he just couldn't do it. He said we should lease it anyway because then they will help us with the service. Unfortunately i needed to be at a certain price .In fact he told me that if I buy it elsewhere then I should not bring it there for service. I actually let that go because I liked the guy. When he couldn't match the price I thanked him and we left. I called the competitor and bought from them who were nothing but honest cordial and grateful for our business. Later to find out the freehold salesman texted me that now he can come within $3 of my price and how can I not do that. Well I can tell you I don't play games, car dealers have a bad rap and they really shouldn't make it worse. Very disappointed. I even went the extra mile to thank the freehold salesman for his honesty and for trying to get us there but unfortunately went with the other dealer. this review is in reference to the service department, two months ago I took it there for an oil change and to check a recurring issue, service four wheel drive, they tell me I need additional services, i should have declined, they have serviced four wheel drive numerous times four hundreds of dollars and the issue always remains and has gotten worse, it comes on every day now, I pick up the vehicle after repairs and get a mile down the road and I get service stabilitrack, trailer brake system, ABS light on, I go strait's back to the dealer on a Saturday, they tell me they are closing and it's ok to drive the car, I bring it back a few weeks later in the same condition and the bang me out for another $1700 bucks. Now I have paid $2700 when I originally wanted an oil change. I disputed the change with my credit card company and complained to BBB. they lie and tell the credit card company that they told me to leave the car and not to drive it, if they lie about that they must have lied about more to cover their incompetence and unethical behavior. To top it off my service four wheel drive comes on every day and I have a check engine light. It is thievery at its highest level. I was in the market to buy a truck, and saw a white gmc I liked, price was $57k. Right off the bat he tried to change the price and charge me $5k over MSRP. The salesman said he would talk to the manager and get back to me on Saturday that never happened!!! After a week of waiting I decided to stop by and spoke to another salesman who at first seemed very nice and professional. I test drove the trucked I liked it so decided to work some numbers. He insisted to run my credit in order to get the right price so I said why do you need to run my credit, can you just give me a ball park price and he seemed very annoyed with my request , I kept insisting I don't want to run my credit and have a hard inquiry if things don't work out. Good thing I didn't let him, he comes back with the highest interest rate and hits me with over $800 a month with $2000 down. Stay away from purchasing any additional insurance. I purchased the SafeGuard Premier Tire & Wheel Protection only to find out two years into having the coverage that it only covers if your wheel is demolished, in which case, cheaper to replace the wheel and tire than what the insurance cost. It was sold to me that coverage would be anything that would happen to your car as in flat tires. Save your money, don't buy this plan. read more

I went to so many dealerships a few years ago looking for a new vehicle, and this was the only dealership that didn't make me feel pressured. I just leased my second GMC terrain with them, and Christian Matt made my experience so easy and stress-free. He was very honest with me about what I could afford for my budget, and didn't try to push any other deals or models on me. He was so kind and answered my questions promptly and professionally. Absolute joke. I go there to see a Terrain I had my eye on. The salesman says it is sold...I say are you sure as it is still advertised. He comes back and says the sales manager has been using the car for personal use for a while. He then says, we can have it here on Monday. The car has racked up 4000 miles by the sales manager since it was advertised. I was all set to buy the car too...all car dealers just suck. Don't get fooled by the games of making you feel welcome, and how they want to get you into the right car. They are not your friends and their job is to screw you out of $$$. Not too friendly. When i brought my car in after a accident i was told by the manager of the body shop that he would help me out with my deductible. When i went to pick up my car they did not help at all. I went here 2 months ago to buy a 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 Denali. My experience with the sales representative, Jack, was great, as expected seeing that I was purchasing a $60,000 truck. I am an auto mechanic and quickly realized that something was up with the steering in the truck shortly after I got it, when I called the service department they set up an appointment to figure out the problem. THREE appointments later I pick my truck up with not only the same steering issue but a dent on my driver's side door as well. When I call to tell the service department about the dent on my door, Don Pacelli tells me that he remembers how specific I was with my truck and he was sure to double check with the inspection before it went in for the service and that they must have caused the damage. I own an auto repair shop and don't have the time to visit the service department four times a month, I missed an appointment to get the dent taken care of and was blown off completely by Don. I went to Freehold to schedule an appointment because he hadn't returned any phone calls that I had made. I made an appointment for that week and when it was done I went to pick up my truck to find the dent still there. I left my truck there seeing again that my problem was NOT resolved. Today I receive a phone call from Don telling me that there is nothing wrong with my truck and that he is satisfied with the dent removal, meanwhile 2 other people that work there both agreed with me that the dent is still there. Now after all of this is said and done Don tells me that they did not cause the dent on my truck. I wish I would have read deeper into the reviews before purchasing a truck here, all of the 5 star reviews about the service department have to do with oil changes and it seems that the attitude from the service department is a common issue from other unsatisfied reviewers. If you do purchase a vehicle here just hope that there are no mechanical issues.. If I had a second chance, I would not even consider this dealership. read more

I had body work completed on my car. The service at the body shop was horrible. The team there was incredibly unprofessional and lacked keeping communication with me on the service to my car. After the work was completed, they left my car filled with dust and dirt and oil from the work that they did. After removing my fender and removing my headlights the re inserted them completed fogged and dusted. They did not take the extra few minutes to clean up after them selves. I called the manger Bill Marter, and he proceeded to tell me that they could not do anything about it and that the headlights could be cleaned if I purchased a solution. He was completely unprofessional and unhelpful on addressing the issues of poor service. I would never go there again and can assure you that if you do , you will be highly disappointed. read more

Went in to look at a vehicle and we were quoted one price. Went home to check online and the price they tried to sell us the vehicle for was 2K more then they had on their own website. I asked if they would honor their price posted on their own website/advertised and they stated no they could not. Know your own inventory and advertisements!! My advice is to look online before walking in so you can be prepared unlike us. They really lived up to the reputation as a dealer. recently had braked and rotors replaced on my Sierra. Dealership used the cheapest parts possible. With the amount of brake/rotor dust I'm lucky to get 10k miles out of them. Service dept admitted they use inferior replacement parts. After talking to dealership about the issue, they would not do the right thing. For a couple dollars they lost a good customer.
