Customer service people are nice, but 3 hours for an oil change, a half hour to get checked in is absolutely ridiculous. If my car wasn't under warranty ( forcing me to go to Totota) I would go somewhere else. Horrible!!! When you have one agent and 10 cars to be checked ....and you sit for 45 minutes in your car just to check in.... Management should be ashamed. I would have not given Toyota freeman a star if the option was available because of the experience I had with Xay Xony. I would not recommend this Toyota or this sales person which he could not have been ruder. I was assisting my girlfriend in the purchase of her car and Xay was trying to cheat her out of a deal because we were there Friday 9/22/2017 and he played his little tactics sales' person games making us think we were getting the best deal and that he was being helpful - I'm fine with that, but we agreed to a price, we also agreed to coming back Tuesday 9/26/2017 the following week to close the deal. He decides to change up the numbers and ask more for the car. He did not even approve her when he was already asking her for the insurance card and the price was bloated, when I interjected and I told him that if the price is not what was promised and the loan approve then it's moot to take the insurance card. He was just playing more sales games and giving her vague numbers trying to decisive her even more. Again when I interjected he gets up from his chair mad and raises his voice to me and said: "Why does it matter you don't have a say so, you not buying the car" So I told my girlfriend let's go no motherfucker is going to yell at me after trying to fuck me with money. This dealership provided an excellent new car buying experience. I dealt primarily with Mo Sayed in the internet sales department. Since they didn't have the exact vehicle I wanted in stock, he was able to locate one and have it diverted here within a few days. I used competitive price matching with other dealerships in the area and he was able to undercut their pricing in order to earn my business. I especially appreciate the fact that he didn't attempt to tack on the low value dealer adds. (code for extra dealer profit) such as VIN etching, paint protectant, fabric protectant, accent striping, ETC. All I got was what I wanted with no pressure to buy the other horse shi*. He spent the time I needed to go over every feature of the vehicle both before and after the sale. Nate Gammill, the finance director, was another breath of fresh air. At many dealers, this is where the hard sell takes place for extended warranties, gap insurance and so on. He mentioned some possible long term maintenance plans but there was no arm twisting. Basically, we got the required paperwork completed and I was out in about 15 minutes. If all their customers are treated similarly, I can highly recommend Freeman for a new Toyota purchase. read more

I am an owner of a 1999 Toyota 4runner that has over two hundred thousand miles and I have to tell somebody about the great service I have received from Freeman Toyota. The service technician was very personable and made me feel comfortable leaving my 4runner with him. Once he wrote up the ticket for my car, he walked me to the waiting area, showed me where the complimentary coffee and popcorn was located, and informed me he would keep me updated. Periodically he came back to give me an updates and explained to me what additional services were needed and recommended. By the way the service tech's name is Adrian. I have read the other reviews, and feel obligated to voice my opinion. I don't know who the other reviewers have been dealing with, but I have yet to encounter any negative experiences while dealing with this dealership. I would recommend this dealership for anyone who owns a Toyota. read more

Worst experience ever! I purchased a 2015 Highlander from Freeman Toyota in October of 2014. I'm a disabled Veteran who used Freeman Toyota because of the Costco auto buying program, that is suppose to be hassel free. Not only did Freeman Toyota give me the wrong price but they redid my contract four different times over the next two months from the time of purchase. The First contract, they overcharged me by almost $8,000. I had them redo the contract and two months later Freeman Toyota had to redo my contract again because they somehow lost their copy. This prevented me from making my vehicle payment to the bank who never received a copy of the contract. The third contract was also off on their numbers so they made a fourth contract. Freeman Toyota then called me to collect the first month payment. There was a problem with that because they wrongfully collected the first payment on behalf of the bank without permission from the bank. The bank was demanding the first payment and I explained to them that Freeman Toyota collected the payment on their behalf. Freeman Toyota never sent the payment that they collected to my bank until the following month when I called several times to have them to forward my payment. The biggest problem with my purchase was that Freeman Toyota never registered my 2015 Highlander with the state DMV. According to the Texas DMV, Freeman Toyota had me driving in an unregistered vehicle for more than three months and that the first two sets of plates they gave me were bogus. The new paper plates were never registered with Texas DMV and the first set of metal plates that Freeman issued me were cancelled plates, that did not belong to any vehicle and should have been properly discarted. After many headaches and many phone calls, Freeman Toyota finally mailed me the correct plates almost 100 days from date of purchase. Had I been pulled over or gotten in an accident I could have been arrested! Instead of an apology, when I called Freeman Toyota for the license plates issue, I was insulted and accused by one of the supervisors of withholding the Disabled Veterans Grant that they were to receive. He stated that's why they did not bother to register my vehicle with the DMV. I had to explain to him that in doing so, they were breaking the law by not registering my vehicle in a timely manner but he did not seem to care. I called late January to Costco to complain about all these issues and that Freeman Toyota should have called to apologize. One of their managers called me and basically said that he apologized IF, they did anything wrong and for me not to come back because they did not want my business since I felt unconfortable. To me that was not an apology. As far as the grant, I found out this month that the government sent them the check on 12 January 2015 with an overage of $297.34. Did they bother to return the money or forward it to the bank? No, they did not. When I called to complain this month of August 2015, I was transfered four times to diffent people because nobody could tell me what they did with the money. Someone finally agreed that they did receive an overage and told me that they would be mailing me the check. Had I not caught this, they would have kept the difference. I'm sure had it been the other way around they would have contacted me seven months ago to collect the difference. I know it's not a lot but it's the principle. How can they be so dishonest with their customers? I can't beleive that I purchased my vehicle in October 2014 and almost a year later I'm still having problems with the dealership (Freeman Toyota)! I hope Costco will not be doing any more business with Freeman Toyota because they truly don't care about Costco members nor their business! Someone who tries to con you from your money in my eyes is considered a crook! If a person steals they normally go to jail. Who is going to hold Freeman Toyota accountable? I reccomend that you do not use this dealership! I can see by Yelp reviews that I'm not the only one who's had problems with Freeman Toyota. Freeman Toyota has so many complaints on Yelp, giving them an overall two star rating. That really says a lot about Freeman Toyota! I could have started writting bad reviews time and time again, since last year with all the headaches Freeman Toyota has caused me but I don't like to do that. About two months ago I received an urgent recall notice affecting my two Toyotas. At the recommendation of the hotline, I called Freeman to schedule the repairs. The service agent informed me that there was a nine day backup in service calls, and offered to take my vehicle information, order the parts, then call me when they were ready. Since the time elapsed was so long, I decided to inquire with the dealership. Looking for the number online, I saw that they had a chat feature. I decided to use chat to see if I could quickly ascertain what was going on. The following is a full printout of the chat: "Please wait. An operator will be with you shortly. One moment please... We apologize for the delay. A representive will be with you shortly. Sarah Gordan says: Hello Mark Dunn. My name is Sarah Gordan how can I help you? Mark Dunn says: About 2 months ago I contacted the service department for a recall on my Sienna and my Corolla. He said there was a nine day backup, and that he'd order the parts and call me when ready. I haven't heard from Toyota, and it's been about 2 months. Sarah Gordan says: I'm sorry about that. Do you by chance remember who it was you talked to? Mark Dunn says: Hmmm. I'm afraid I don't, and I didn't write it down (didn't think I needed to). Sarah Gordan says: It's quite alright. Sarah Gordan says: Have you tried calling them back? Mark Dunn says: While looking for the number, I saw the chat button. Should I call? Sarah Gordan says: To better your chances yes.... The reason for my poor rating is two fold: First, the dealership should have contacted me some time ago to advise me that the service schedule was really backed up (assuming they haven't lost my information altogether). Second, the person in the chat could have taken ownership for my problem, or even politely suggested I call the service department without the snide remarks. She was extremely knowledgeable and was very thorough. They did not have any 2015 Rav 4 on the lot, but she remembered a used 2015 on the used car lot. First off, I've bought 2 trucks in the past six months from these guys. I visited many local toyota dealers and found them to be horrible. Freeman was the last one I tried. I've dealt with several salesman from Les Cockerell, Tony and a few others. All have been more than helpful. Eric McBain was the guy who sold me the tundra I'm in now, and I would recommend him to my friends or family. He was stress free, and straight forward from the beginning. The sales manager Jay Lassiter is a awesome guy to deal with as well because he truly wants to help you find the vehicle you want. They understand the importance of purchasing a vehicle and will bend over backwards to find you the deal which suits you. I will only buy from these guys in the future, and if my friends or family ever need a vehicle this will be the first place I send them. Horrible, terrible, awful, pathetic, lame, stupid are just a few of the words I would use to describe Freeman Toyota. We bought a used Sienna from them last June and the paperwork accidently got shredded with some documents, so I called to try and get a copy of the paperwork from the financing department and was told that they were busy and that I would be sent to a voice mail where I could leave a message. I left a full message and no response after a week. I called again and was again sent to the same voice mail where one again it was ignored. I tried e-mailing the person in charge of the dealership and after three weeks there has still not been a response. I called once more and a receptionist told me she would have someone from financing mail me a copy of our contract and two weeks have gone by with nothing. I know we only bought a used vehicle but you would think someone would be able to take responsibility and ownership of such a simple thing as a contract copy. Their customer service is horrible and I will never, ever waste more money at a dealer who ignores you once they have your money. This dealer is abysmal and needs a good top down clean up to put more customer friendly people in positions of power. I am still in shock by how pathetic their customer service is. I should have gone to another dealer but was recommended by someone I trusted and I will not be making that mistake ever again. read more

I contacted Jay Jones, service advisor to have a timing belt, water pump, and cam/crank seals changed on my 2005 Tundra. with the 4.7 liter engine. I told him all about the engine, truck and what I wanted done. Jones quoted 800 for the timing belt / water pump. an additional 200.00 for the cam / crank seals. I brought the truck over there which is a long frive for me from Dallas. I found out Jones had lied to me abou the cost. He said he could no longer honor the quote because only 12 percent of 2005 tundra's have VVTI which is variable valve timing. I looked it up. EVERY 2005 Tundra 4.7 has Variable valve Timing. He said it would be an additional 1000 dollars but wanted me to leave the truck until he got an accurate quote. I said no, because if the quote isnt acceptable I would have to drive back out here. after this meeting I was unable to contact Jay Jones again. I recommend Japanese Auto Repair in Irving. They did the job for a flat 700.00 Freeman toyota liars, incompetent idiots.Any company who doesnt have their word is not worth doing business with. Run from these guys. read more

Very respectful of the customer, Far better than I'd have expected at a car dealership. Never did I feel that i was getting a "WoW-BuY-NoW" experience, the sales staff (I dealt with several salespeople) from the Salesperson to the Finance office treated me with respect, and it did not feel overly pushy (if at all). When I checked for a specific model, they were out. However their Fleet Manager told me to check back Monday, when I did I was a little suprised, He managed to get one sent here over the weekend from a nearby dealership and I'm happy to say it drives GREAT!!!! read more

I purchased tires from Freeman's several years ago. I noticed that my tires were worn so I went to the service department to talk to them about the warranty on the tires. I had driven about half of the warranty miles and still had several years left on the time period. The service rep first told me that he would need to check with the service manager. When he returned we started the old " two step". The dealership would have to contact the manufacturer of the tires but "it probably was an alignment problem and it would not be under warranty" what is fascinating is that the tires had a normal wear pattern on all 4 tires. So I thought that I would get no further with the dance and I went to a competitor to ask about the tires. What I found out was that the tires had been sitting on Freeman's shelf for two years prior to them putting the tires on the car. Well that pretty took care of the time warranty. I bought new tires from the competitor. I will not do business with this company again as far as the service department. Buyer beware read more

All the promises that they made were never kept. The price we agreed on and the monthly due date we agreed on was not what I ended up with. Buy two 50k Tundra's and see what you get when there is an issue. Second fully loaded Tundra gets a small rock...lets be honest...a pebble hit on the poorly designed ac condenser located under the front of the truck and they will more than likely hold their hand out for $2100 to repair. Let's forget that I only owned the truck 14 months with 14k miles on it. They called it a road hazard issues not covered by the warranty....Tundra Tough huh? They will more than likely say it's really not their decision but more so it's Toyota Care warranty that excludes them from covering it. Then, they will more than likely refer you to Toyota Care for resolution. Toyota Care is less than receptive to this repair. I have never gone off-road with my truck. I live and drive on paved roads yet their commercial and in-store advertisement shows a Tundra rolling through a rocky stream. What I'm so upset about and want all to know is DO NOT buy into their we care about our return customers speech. Dealerships buy their vehicles from the manufacturer then sell them and they have enough extra $$$ to help a return customer fix his/her truck that is not his/her fault so the customer can enjoy their new truck in all season...hot or cold. When I told them this is crazy and how can I survive a Texas Summer without AC in a new truck they shrugged their shoulders and said "I'm sorry". I agree with them...they are sorry...a sorry group. They tried to sell me yet a 3rd fully loaded 50k Tundra without the hole in the ac condenser... I had to field half a dozen phone calls from an exchange program sales person....THAT was their resolution. Wow! I was in to get my wifes car maintaince when a sales men asked me to if i would be intrested in trading my truck in today. I was looking to get out of my Ford F250 and get in something newer so i agreed to sit down and talk with the gentelman. After 6 hours of being there just to try and get it a vehcile and get the paper work started we agreed on payments being 590 payments zero percent finance. I agreed to trade in my truck and move forward with the purchace since they got my payments down around to what i have been paying for my Ford F250. Jay (head of sales) who sold me my Ford F250 at Holt fiat in 2011 was the main guy I been running back and forth with. He said he got me approved and gaureentted me the deal. We signed the initial by the papers and agreed and off to the back I went. After sitting in the finance room for over 30 mins the papers start to come where you sign this and that. They start to throw the papers at me and speed me up trying not to give me the time to read over what am signing. Well I didn't let them rush me and coming to find out not only was my payments not 590 they were 680. That's with no extended warranty no gap insurance no anything. First sign so I threw that paper to the side not signing it. Looked at the next not only was it not Zero percent it was 7 percent. At that point my blood was boiling. So I stopped there and asked to have the keys back to my Ford. The finance guy Russ then asked me to speak with Jay saying that he didn't want Jay to think that he did something wrong and ran me off. I spoke with Jay to let him no I was not happy. He said take the truck for the weekend sign nothing no contract and come back Monday morning to get everything squared away we will have you taken care of and all will be right. So I took the truck came back in Monday morning to find myself waiting another hour to see a finance guy. At this point I told him I have 15 mins then I have to leave for work. We sat down and he said well can you come back at 8pm nothing is ready. I was piseed now I have 7hours of my time being there. I came back at 8pm like asked. Walked in asked for the people I needed to speak with and 1 hour and 15 mins later I was in the back sitting down going over the paper work and once again nothing was as promised before so I give the keys back to the tundra and walk out to my Ford and ask them to give me my keys so now 8 hours and 15 mins in to this. They first bring me a key that does not go to my truck wasting more of my time. 15 mins later they bring me my key I start my truck there was a Mercedes parked behind my truck and I could not pull out I told them someone needs to move this care before I drive over it. 30 mines later they find the keys to the car and get it out of my way. So after being there 9 hours and coming out with nothing but wasted time and anger I would highly suggest not a person waste their time in that dealership. I will be making this well known. Jay Jones service advisor, called me a "Penny Pincher".... About a week ago I took my car in to get serviced. It did not want to start so I suspected it to be either the alternator or battery. Upon arrival, my service advisor was Jay Jones. He told me that it was probably the alternator but that It would be a $60 service fee to check it out. I said ok and was on my way. He called later that evening and told me that it was just my battery (that was only 3 yrs old). The prorated price would be 50% of the full price of the battery. In this case the price he gave me was $91 (this would make full price $182). This seemed a little steep to me for a new battery on a compact car... So I called the parts department to see what they charge if I was just going to pick up the battery and install it myself. They quoted me $132 after taxes. I then called JAY and asked if I could just pick up the car and buy the battery myself inside. He was bothered and said that I would have to pay the $60 service fee for the technicians time. I understand this and realize that It would be more expensive at this point to install it myself so I told him to go ahead and install it. Then I reminded Jay that I had a 10% coupon that I told him about when I dropped off my car. He then called me a "PENNY PINCHER" and said that I should be happy that It only came out to $91 and that instead of being happy I'm trying get every penny out of the deal. First of all.. who calls their customer a Penny Pincher! Secondly, a 7yr genuine Toyota battery shouldn't die in 3yrs... So no Jay, I am not happy that I had to spend "only" $91. Even then it could have easily been a more pleasurable experience. Because of the customer service I received, I don't see myself returning to Freeman Toyota. read more

This review is for the sales/finance department only. I accompanied my daughter from California to Dallas January 6, where she was starting a new job January 11. Our checklist of things that needed to get done included the purchase of a new car. Her first choice was a 2016 Toyota Tacoma-which is an extremely popular vehicle. We checked available inventory within a 50 mile radius of Dallas and this is one of the only dealers that had an SR5 in her price range in stock. We emailed Troy Thompson after hours January 6 and he responded early January 7 with a reasonable quote. We drove out to look at and test drive the truck later that morning. Troy was already involved with another customer but Larkin Lindner stepped in to help us. We took the truck on a test drive, thereafter agreed on what I believe to be a very good price, arranged for financing, completed the transaction with David Shegda in Finance, and were on our way back to Dallas a few hours later. The entire transaction was pretty smooth from start to finish, with the only potential hiccup occurring after we had left. It took Toyota Motor Financial a few days longer than expected to actually approve and fund the loan because my daughter was a recent college graduate, which (understandably) entails a more lengthy verification process on Toyota's end. Larkin Lindner responded to our follow up inquiries January 11 to confirm they had just received verification that the loan was approved as written, funded, etc. Each of the gentlemen we worked with (Troy, Larkin, and David) were polite, professional, low pressure, and very helpful-turning what can often be a stressful experience into a pleasant one. Thanks guys for the warm Texas welcome and for all of your help. My wife and I purchased a brand new Toyota 4runner from freeman(Hurst,TX.) in 2007. We had the vehicle in for service 4 times during the warranty period for a popping noise coming from the brake system. The first tree times they told my wife they could not reproduce the problem or find anything wrong. Just prior to 36k I went with her to the dealer because it was obvious there was something wrong with the braking system and we wanted it fixed before it went out of warranty. They told me the sound was normal and they would take care of it regardless of warranty. the vehicle now has 43k and the ABS brake booster assy had to be replaced. The original quote was $3200.00 but when I found they were charging over MSRP for the parts and two GALLONS of brake fluid they adjusted the price to just under $2300. I asked them not to discard the old part so I could have an engineer find the actual cause of the problem. They did not return the part even though it was my part and I had paid for the NEW part. I called the Toyota Customer Experience number to see what could be done. I spoke to Tony who stated that the Freeman service manager assured him that the popping noise when braking had no relation to the current brake failure. My question then was how can they know that there is no relation when they could never identify the source or the noise in the first place. I asked Tony with Toyota if there was anything that could be done to leverage the dealership but he told me that they are a private entity/business. Never mind the Toyota name is all over the place. The part that was replaced was a #4705035030 and you are welcome to look up the amount of the part online. I feel like this dealership treated my wife as she did not know what she was talking about with the problem. They told me the noise was normal and they did not make good to fix the problem once it was out of warranty. They tried to overcharge for the part and tried to bill us for ten times the amount of brake fluid in the entire system. They were dishonest when they told Toyota the two things were unrelated when they could never identify the original issue. Toyota did not even question that logic. No car should be having such costly repairs at such low mileage. The part was either poorly engineered or was defective but I will never know since they did not let me keep it even though I asked both verbally and in email. You have been warned!!!!! read more
