Do your research on pricing before you go. We went into the shop two days ago and they had some traffic and people were buying stuff, and all the great reviews so we figured it was a great place. It's my understanding it's a husband and wife team that own the place. First things first is they didn't seem very friendly. Made my husband and I feel like we were wasting their time. Not one smile, not once and just seemed like they did not want to be there. A fake smile would have been nice. At least act like they cared to have people on their shop. Well my husband ended up finding a bike he just had to have so we purchased it as well as some other items bringing our total to close to $300. Again. Not even once they saw they got a sale, didn't seem to care once. Well we went for a bike ride last night. Bike seemed to work great. We went into the garage this morning and the tire was completely flat. We were like wow that sucks. Took the tire in and I was thinking about getting a bike for myself. But the color I wanted was no longer in stock. This time we just worked with a younger guy and the husband. It was like pulling teeth getting them to answer questions. Like can I custom order the color I want? Or why not even try to sell me something else that I might like instead? But nothing. They tell me it takes months to come in and can't guarantee I'll get the color I want before they'll sell out again. Ugh. Instead they took my husband's flat tire and replaced the inner tube ($14 charged). Then when they returned the tire, we saw that the tire itself was completely ripped across and you could see the tube inside!! How is that missed?!? So we gave it back and they took it back again to replace it completely. Then the owner tells us "oh yeah, we had a batch of bad tires. So people have been bringing them back in." I mean really?! You're now telling me you know there is an issue and you still charged us??? In the end I am glad they didn't have the bike I wanted. I don't plan on getting anything else from them. Great local business. We just bought a balance bike for our two-year-old here and were very pleased with the transaction. According to one of the owners, they actually manufacture their own balance bikes in the style of the popular Strider bike. We went by to check fit and finish and our little boy picked one up immediately and rode around the shop - we were sold. The only reason I deducted a star is because the paint immediately peeled off the seat tube when I adjusted the seat and tightened the bolt. I imagine it's a shortcoming of the chosen paint adherence, but it surely won't be the only time the paint gets scuffed. Plus, there's no way I'm taking it from my boy now! We'll probably be back to pick up accessories at a later date. read more

This place is great ! They moved from the Power RD location to Valvista & main. Don't let this fool you, the quality of bikes and customer service is way better than any other shop. My wife wore out her cruiser from Walmart and decided in a good quality bike. Needless to say we both walked out with new bikes and my wife got a sweet basket and line that doubles as a purse ! This is the first review I have ever written on this platform, and probably the last. I purchased 7 bikes in early November for Christmas gifts for my kids. Prepaid almost $3,000. The woman who helped me was a very kind woman and a relative of the owner I believe. This review is not a reflection of her. About a week before I was to pick the bikes up, I was told one of the bikes (for my youngest son) was not going to be available. I understand these incidents happen, so they suggested I purchase a different, more expensive bike instead, which I did. On December 22, when I went to pick all of the bikes up at the agreed upon time, I was informed that the matching mountain bikes for my 3 oldest boys weren't there yet. I was assured there was not going to be an issue, and they would deliver the bikes the next day when they had arrived. Later that evening I received a call stating 2 of the 3 matching bikes would not be available until March. But "good news", however, was that I could pay another $150 and get 3 matching bikes that were a different (better) brand but same size. After spending $3000 you could imagine I wasn't interested in spending more for something that wasn't my fault. They had been on order for 8 weeks. I asked to speak to the owner, who was very unprofessional and in a very condescending tone offered to just give me my money back. He knew full well that 2 days before Christmas I didn't have any other options. He offered to "chip in" $25 a bike and asked me to pay the additional $150 to "make things good." What choice did I have? Although I told the owner I thought it was poor business to pass along the additional cost to the customer for a mistake (intentional or otherwise) on the side of the shop, he was very forceful on the phone and was less than kind. He said "you can bad mouth me all you want". At that moment I assured him I am not interested in "bad mouthing him", I am simply interested in getting what we fairly paid for and purchased 8 weeks ago so my 7 children could get bikes for Christmas. Needless to say, I spent the extra almost $150 and received the bikes. All 7 kids loved the bikes. When the older boys got on the bikes I did notice that they seemed smaller than I thought they would be (I purchased adult Smalls thinking they could "grow into them"). It wasn't until a few days later did I realize the 3 new "better, more expensive bikes" were actually Xtra Smalls, not smalls. I called a neighbor over who is an avid biker to confirm this fact. Now I realized when they looked so small on the kids. Not only did I not get the bikes that I had paid for and ordered, I was forced, at the 11th hour, to pay more for bikes that were a size smaller than I ordered. I was in disbelief. Any doubt I had as to whether the owner knew of this "error" when he upsold me the wrong size bike was resolved when I called the owner with my bike-loving neighbor next to me. I let the owner know that I realized the bikes were XS (there is a big XS sticker on the body of the bikes) and not S that I had ordered, he responded by saying "I don't know the size of you kids". The size of my kids? What does that have to do with anything? I told him the size of my kids is irrelevant, I know the size of my kids and ordered the Small bikes 8 weeks ago accordingly. I never brought my kids into the shop and didn't get his recommendation on the size of the bikes to order. He then responded, "well, that's probably all we had." I think that's much closer to the truth. Nice. He knowingly upsold me on bikes that he knew was not what I ordered in hopes I wouldn't catch it. Thankfully I did, and I brought the bikes back immediately. Amazingly, he was able to "come across some Small bikes" to exchange for, I let him know it's best to just return everything and get my money back, which is what I did. Although on the phone on December 23rd I said I would not "bad mouth" him the way he was threatening that I do, after all of the trouble and lack of professionalism in the process, and upon learning that he intentionally sold me 3 bikes that he knew were the wrong size and asked me to pay $1500 for them (and $150 more than I originally paid for the correct size bikes), I don't have a choice but to let other people know about our experience. I am very reticent to post this because they know where we live, but I think it's important to share the experience with others and hope they will learn and grow from this experience and do it differently next time. I do not wish ill on the owner. I know this business has skyrocketed since Covid, and that's wonderful. I don't know this man or his family personally, but it is very sad and disappointing that this is how their family business is run. I wanted to keep the business in Gilbert where we live, and thankfully I was able to find an honest company in Gilbert to help get my kids the bikes that fit them for a fair price. read more

My wife wanted a new cruiser for her Bday. She probably would have been happy with a Huffy or a Schwinn from a box store, but I had a better idea in mind. Found Freeride and they hooked me up with a SkullXBones. Swapped out the grip and the saddle, added a nice looking basket up front and I was out the door. Gentlemen, the extra spent on this little cruiser was returned that night, if you know what I mean. Price is spot on for the bikes they carry. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I fell off my bike a month ago and was not wearing a helmet.Scared me.Hit my head! Riding our bikes is one of the only safe things to do right now.So,although I want to stay out of stores, I had to venture out to buy a helmet.My husband needed one too. We chose Freeride because they a re close to home,small, and also they are FAMILY OWNED.So important right now to support our neighbors! They all had masks on and a sign requiring we did too.THANK YOU FOR THAT!! They had a great selection and were knowledgeable.I may have found a "cheaper" one online but I feel it was important to get a good helmet, with professional advice on fitting and style. I had bought the bicycle Trek Verve 1 and bought a kickstand totaling $609.09 . I was told I would get a free tune up within a year. I went in and they did a tune up within three minutes. They said to ride it around and see if the shifting was better. I would have to ride a lot longer to see if the shifting would work better, but it was raining. I went back and asked what is a tune up for the free one. They said, the free tune up is only a basic tune up. I thought a tune up was more involved. I never heard of basic tune up. So I asked what the other tune ups were and cost. They said that I didn't really need to spend money for the more expensive tune up. I was super bummed since I spent what I thought was quite a bit of money. I will go somewhere else next time for a tune up. So I feel they are more interested in just selling than completing the contract with a real tune up. JBW read more
