I had 2 separate and very frustrating experiences with Global Bikes that I believe reflect deceptive and untrustworthy business practices. On a Tuesday, I called the Chandler location (spoke to Nick) and was quoted a "sale" price of $450 for a specific bicycle. When I arrived an hour later, Nick says that the price tag of $450 was a mistake. He refused to honor the price. Just a few days later, I found another bike listed on their website on "sale". I called the Ahwatukee location to confirm availability, only to be told by Thomas that the online price was incorrect and would not be honored. This happened twice in one week, at two different locations, with two different employees, and two different bikes. That's not a one-time error -- it's a pattern. Whether it's intentional or just sloppy, it feels like classic bait-and-switch behavior. I did end up purchasing a different bike from them out of necessity, but I absolutely would not recommend this store to anyone. There are plenty of other bike shops that are more honest and reliable with their pricing. Shop elsewhere. read more

Thankful for the team at this Global Bikes! We bought our son's mountain bike from Global Bikes last November during Black Friday. We got a fantastic deal and we gave it to him for Christmas. We purchased the Service For Life (SFL) policy. All labor associated with the $89 Full Global Bikes Tune-up is 100% unlimited as long as you own the bike. They will inspect the bike, adjust derailleurs, brakes, and hubs. They'll lubricate the chain, wipe down the frame, air up tires, and more. The policy has paid off tenfold with how many times the bike has needed service in under a year. From flat tires to loose pedals, we've brought it in for a variety of reasons. My son drives his bike to and from school everyday and all over the neighborhood, so it needs a tune up often. At one point, he was getting flats on an almost weekly basis, so we decided to add the No Flats Guarantee policy, which is $45 per tire. One of the team members also informed us the correct PSI range and we haven't had a flat tire since. Majority of the time, I'm the one bringing the bike in for service and the guys at this Global Bikes have been nothing but patient and helpful. I do my best to explain the issue, and they take a look at it then get to work. They're able to fix it within minutes most of the time. I've only had to leave it overnight one time. I'll continue to take my son's bike here for service! read more

Love Global Bikes. Bought my Aventon Level.2 at the Chandler store. After 1,200 miles I crashed the bike and the only damage was a disengaged brake lever that Scott fixed quickly. BUYER WARNING: DO NOT BUY EBIKE FROM THESE GUYS ARE YOU WILL BE SORRY! They sold me two high-end ebike that cost 10K together however, they have NO idea how to work on the "ebike" they sell! Their "Mesa" location as they call it their "ebike shop" has no mechanic that know how to work on their ebike they sold me, a gazelle ebike. If you plan on spending $1,000+ of dollars with Global Bikes, and want to have your bike worked on, just know they dont have the right SKILLS Mechanics/works required to work on your ebike that include Warranty work. Plus because of lack of skills, they damage my bike in 2 place, while "trying to fix" the bike. (my bike still new with only 3 month old) Now I am in hard place without support and can not truth Global bike any more without damage my bike more. read more

This location is smaller than the one on Ray Rd so just be aware if you want a larger inventory of everything (bikes and accessories) you might look to a different shop. I had initially began my search for a bike with Global and specifically this location, and was greeted by a sales guy who seemed nice enough. He offered me a Specialized Sirrus and said it was the perfect bike for what I needed to do. There really wasn't much engagement on the quality of the bike or if it would really match my style and needs. After doing a bit more research the Medium sized frame that I was told was the fit for me what a size too small. I would say that if you know what you want and go in prepared to ask for that then its a fine shop. read more

Ordered a new fx sport 6 here on Black Friday. I came in originally looking at the checkpoint driftless but quickly realized it was not a correct fit for my body. The manager of all of their locations went out of his way to help size me up with a compareable bike I was also looking at and even let me test ride a few other bikes to see if that was what I was really wanting. They didn't have the fx sport in person to be able to tell for the size but we ended up nailing it and it's a perfect fit. When I arrived to pick my bike up I was helped by the store manager at this location who was also very helpful in answering all of the noob questions I had to my new bike and set me up with the confidence to have a good understanding of how to work all the components. When I unpacked my bag my back brakes were rubbing and I began to freak out. I found Global Bikes on the internet and was there the next day waiting outside for them to open. The minute I entered the store I was directed to service and Rick met me. I told him about my issue and I could see that he could tell I was a little stressed. He fixed the issue right away and did a quick check of my bike to make sure everything was ok. I recently had my mountain bike tuned up and besides getting the job done right I think their employees need a resfresher course on customer service. When they made a mistake on my order, the first younger sales person was quick to blame the original salesman that helped me. Then as another older employee took my bike back and When I asked what he was going to do, he kinda gave me a snappy answer. They made me feel like I was a part of the problem. No genuine apology was given. As far as Im concerned you guys are all a team and instead of blaming others you should work on customer service. After researching the kind of Mountain Bike I wanted to purchase as an anniversary gift for my wife, I started calling around to check inventories. There are three Global Bikes in the East Valley (each with a different vibe). I've shopped at them all ... and their customer service has been outstanding at each one! The exact bike I was looking for was neither in stock, nor even available for order, but the owner/manager (Chris) at the Arizona Avenue location was incredibly helpful as he had a similar bike in a small men's frame. I made my purchase decision over the phone, and told them I'd come pick it up. It was Memorial Day and they had a sale with no tax, a $100 credit for accessories, AND they converted it to tubeless for FREE! As I was getting ready to go, the bike mechanic called me to verify the stem color options. Then the owner called back and told me he was incorrect about the bike being a 27.5 wheel, but he offered to switch the 29ers with the 27.5's on another bike to make it right! I went to pick up the bike and really liked the color, but wanted to make it a little more color-coordinated for my girly. So I picked some bright matching grips and a water bottle cage. Chris had them installed right then and even had the "men's" wide handlebars cut down an inch on either side to fit her better. I then rounded out the purchase with a new bike-matching helmet and gloves. All in all, the purchase cost less than I anticipated and the customer service was awesome -- which of course, contributed to a really happy wife (and happy MTB husband) not to mention a famous anniversary success as we head off to the mountains! read more

After posting a plea of help to my fellow Yelp biker Tim, he suggested I get the Kevlar tires he uses. I called around to locate a bike store along my route home. Luckily for me, Global Bikes carried these tires, and they were in the direction I was headed. They hooked me up with 2 new armadillo elite (flat resistant) tires, and performed the tire replacement for a mere $6. I walked into Global Bikes a boy, but left a man. Thanks guys! I had a very awful experience at this Global Bikes today. I have been repeatedly getting flat tires on my back wheel. I get it "fixed" but the problem keeps repeating, but only on my back tire. I came in today and the person that was "helping" me was very rude and dismissive of my problem. He said "yeah everybody gets flats, my record is 4 flat tires in 1 day". He was very impolite and seemed to think I was a moron. I am very dissappointed and never returning to this Global Bikes. read more

We went in to get a new tire for my cruiser and was told they 'only had the puncture-resistent $25 tire in stock, didn't know when or if they'd get the regular kind. Wasn't the friendliest guy, didn't seem to care one way or the other, certainly didn't offer any other information, just take it or leave it. We decided we'd go for that tire in the interest of getting the bike back on the road. $25? Yup, $25. We go to pick up the bike, and it's $25 PLUS $10 to 'install' the tire, for each tire. Didn't mention it when he told us the price originally, didn't mention it when we confirmed the price. They did both tires, which may or may not have been necessary, but that isn't the problem. They charge $25 PLUS $10 per tire, so now we are into it for $70 plus tax. We get a survey via text asking if we are satisfied or dissatisfied, my husband says dissatisfied, they ask why, he tells them, we don't hear another peep. I am looking for another bike to start doing some longer-distance rides, but it won't be from here. read more

I called and spoke to Chris about bringing in my cruiser (1 speed) bike in for a new tire and advised to bring it in. Spoke to James when we got there and advise would be best to do both tires and was very efficient and friendly and have it all done within a hour so did not have to leave it and bring it back as getting it there we have to use a rack on our car. I took several of my bikes here to get it fix, tubes etc. one of the bikes I didn't get to ride until a while after I picked it up for the shop and when I went to go ride it, the bike is flat again, and when I tried to pump it up it went flat. I called the store to see if there was anything they could do to help out considering I never rode the bike and it was last serviced by them. I spoke to James to see if they could help and he wouldn't even bother to help and kept saying it was not guaranteed. I even explained how unfortunate this situation was as I like them and wanted to give them more business since I live nearby. But since the conversation and lack of help from James and how unsympathetic he was I won't be taking any of my bikes back. Too many good bike stores out their who will be happy To do the right thing to keep their customers happy. read more

Went to the closest bike shop near me and was greet by a sales person who asked me what I wanted. I told him. I was looking to know how to adjust my brakes. He said he couldn't help me and walked away and said check with repair. I went over the repair counter and a guy asked how he could help me and I asked if they were able to tell me how to adjust my brake? He responded to me with you can YouTube it or we can do a maintenance check on it. Keep in mind it's a brand new bike and they wanted $89 for the maintenance check when the bike was bought for $129. I laughed and walked away. He then said, you want to make sure the bike was put together correctly. So I guess other places don't assemble bikes correct but this shop does! First and last time I come here. I have 9 bikes and none will be serviced here. You think they can show you how to adjust your brakes but would rather you pay for maintenance. Most bikes don't even cost that amount these days. They should learn something about customer service. The little things will bring back a customer and give you good review. read more
