The store was fairly empty mid afternoon on a Saturday and so I wasn't expecting anything less, but it was still notable that the service was prompt and the guy that helped us Make sure he recommended what we needed and not anything more. While we didn't buy any additional equipment or bikes at the store we did walk around and I found their selection to be pretty decent with Pricing in the mid to upper range. I went in to look for an E bike which they had a couple in stock with such high demand for E bikes I was very impressed! Came very close to buying a giant trance 29+ when Scott talked to me about the specialized levo, which I had just purchased one for my wife in July and was very impressed with but they did not have any in stock. They had a demo bike there that they rent out and after speaking with Scott he contacted the owner and went to bat for me and I was able to purchase their demo bike! Top of the tier knowledge and performance with follow through on getting me dialed in on a bike to fit my size and frame! Highly recommend this location and the location on power and the 60 because I had started there but they did not have a Large Bike in their store so I went over to this Santan location. I had mixed feelings about this shop when I first went in. I've since gone back and am now sold! When I first went in I just needed better shoes for my cycle class. My regular tennis shoes were just not cutting it. Well, the shopper in me came out and I ended up with shoes, a bike, helmet, even socks! I got everything I needed (almost) to be a 'roadie.' Sean helped me pick out the perfect bike for me and I love it! While I was in there Chris Head, the guy who does it, offered to do my bike fitting for free! It's a huge thing that's really time consuming, but is definitely needed. Before I was fitted I did a 35+ mile ride and my body felt it all the way through. After Chris did the fitting it was like a TOTALLY different experience. He knows exactly what he's doing and goes above and beyond (seriously, way beyond) what he had to in order to make sure my bike was awesome. And it was worth every minute that it took to get it there (2+ hours). He is awesome. Everyone in this shop has a great attitude, super fun to be around, lots of laughing and a huge willingness to help you get a bike that's perfect. I cant say enough positive things about this place. First i purchased my 2019 Stumpjumper st from this place about a month ago, they were the only ones in the east valley that had it. I worked with Zach, and they had it assembled in two hours and I took it home that day. This past week i started having shifting issues. I had another local shop try to work on only because i was closer to them at the moment, they struggled for over minutes and didn't fix it. Then I dropped it off at Bike masters 6pm on Monday. Zach did the intake and said they would get it back to me by the next day. Dustin worked on it throughout the day on Tuesday and called me a few times with updates. This is where the above and beyond service kicks in. He said during our phone conversation 1/2 hour before close "he is not going to go home until it is fixed" as he knew i had a ride planned the next morning. He stayed two hours after close just to try and solve my issue.. Which he did. When is the last time you heard of someone doing this?! They also converted me to a tubeless set up and installed a dropper - both work well. Zach and Dustin have always been friendly, patient, and easy to work with and I highly recommend this shop. These guys go above and beyond to make their customers happy! read more

Would give no stars if possible. Mistakes happen. People who post reviews should understand a mistake can happen. How a business corrects that mistake is what goes a long way in repairing customer confidence and repairing the damage caused by the mistake. I was over charged 3x on a purchase by the Gilbert store from running my card 3x. It was not a small amount either and completely drained my checking going into the Forth of July weekend. This was midweek on a Wednesday morning. I understood mistake and assumed funds would be reversed immediately as they are whenever this occurs. It has happened to us all. Quick double bill, oops , sorry, and the reversal is immediately back into your checking debit card account. Not so with Bike Masters. They keep your funds. They promise refunds then make excuses. I was Promised returns within 24hours and then nothing After waiting 6 days with out my refund I finally had to call my bank to refute the charges. Now I have to wait up too 10 days for a reversal through claims department. This level of incompetence is inexcusable. I even called Thursday requesting the store please double check progress of reversal/ refund and was told all was fine owner took care of it. Never again! warning to all use cash only in this store as the operator of the pos terminal needs to stick to wrenching bikes and leave the heavy complicated computer skills to trained monkeys. read more

As anyone who bikes in the Phoenix area knows, the chances of getting a flat tire are VERY HIGH. Besides the usual screws, nails, tacks, etc. there are BILLIONS of sharp thorns that lay waiting on bike paths, sidewalks and paved streets that go unseen until your tire starts to leak. I had a flat 2 weeks ago that ended up with me walking six miles home and resulted in such bad blisters that I haven't been able to ride since. I took it to Globe bikes in Chandler, wanting a thicker tube and all I got was "we don't carry thick tubes". This morning while cleaning my chain, I noticed a thorn in the tread, pulled it out and my new tube went flat in 5 minutes. I was never advised of any solutions from the Globe guys (because of the lack of thicker tubes) so I took my bike to Bike Masters in downtown SanTan. I was told there WERE thicker casings that protect from thorns and had one put on my bike. I was out of the store in minutes, content that NOW I could ride in peace of mind. Thanks Bike Masters. Just rode back from Bike Masters and want to commend them for their customer service. I had a new pair of grips that I bought on eBay, needing them to be installed on a new bike that I didn't buy from Bike Masters. Didn't matter. I called them this morning to ask if they could install the grips while I waited and Scott said sure, just come around 3:30 because things were hectic until then. I showed at 3:30 and was treated like I had just bought their most expensive bike. He even went the extra mile to make the grips work with my mirrcycle mirror. What a great experience! read more

Gave us a line about how the bike we bought was trash, we couldn't get a bike for my husband's height without spending $600+, we'd have to special order the kind of seat he wanted, blah blah. He obviously thought he was too good for our money. Popped down the street to a bike shop Higley and Williamsfield, and walked in, told them our issue and were out of there with an awesome new seat that fits and works and miraculously my husband, no shorter than he was, can ride the bike he bought originally. read more

I have a 5 year old bike that never had a proper tuneup. It also creaked on the left pedal and developed a clunking sound when pedaling. On the bike stand pedaling forward did not have the clunking sound - only when riding. I had discerned the obvious things, eg, bent chain, out of alignment derailleur, etc, were not the causes. I had checked all the various Youtubes to see if I could figure it out. Had another person come out and he couldn't figure it out. So it was time for professionals. I checked around and the thing I liked about Bike Masters was that their website shows the prices and what's included in the 3 tuneup options. They also listed parts prices if one needed parts. Their prices were very fair. Other places I checked didn't do that. Like other bike shops, they were swamped. I took it in on a Tues expecting to wait at least a week for them to get to it. I explained the issues, and they took it out for a ride so they understood the clunking problem. On that Friday I got a call saying they figured out the problem and needed my authorization for a new freewheel which I gave. We talked about a new chain and I told them to do it if they thought it was necessary. John called me back about an hour later and said my bike was ready. When I arrived he had me take it for a spin to make sure I was satisfied. The clunking was gone! - as well as the creaking left pedal. Was I ever satisfied! When I got home I looked at what they had done more closely. The rear sprockets, which were cleaned as part of the Pro Tuneup, actually sparkled. No grease and they looked brand new. The gears shifted more smoothly and it finally rode with no noise! While this Bike Masters is 1/2 hour from my house (and other bike shops 1/4 that distance), John and Bike Masters in San Tan will always get my business. They were friendly, didn't talk down to you, and sincerely wanted to help the customer, all around good business practices. read more

My family has used Bike Masters for the last two years for everything we needed and have always had good results till today. I brought my bike in to get repaired, as the gear component had broken. When I picked it up and rode it outside the store, the bike now has a "clicking" vibration through the pedals. I asked about this, and at first, the gentleman told me it didn't do it. So my son rode the bike and reported the same issue. Bike Masters told me that it has nothing to do with their repair. So even though it DIDN'T have that problem before I brought it in, it does now. They were unable to fix or answer why. Oddly, they DID tell me that my bike basket holder was installed backwards, which is funny because THEY installed it back in October. I paid full price for my "repair". It is very disappointing to have a new problem that didn't exist before I brought it in. : ( read more

David did a fantastic job tuning up my bike. The price was great and service was fast. When I brought my bike in I told him about the sound I was hearing with my chain; and he measured it and advised me that I might want to consider getting a new one. I asked him for more details and he explained that it was about 75% worn and that if I let it get closer to 100% that it would likely mean replacing the cassette. I approved the replacement (also at a totally reasonable cost). Without seeing me on the bike, but looking at the handlebars, he then asked me about my hoods and if I wanted him to move them up higher so that I wouldn't be reaching so far forward to brake. He said I would probably be happy with it but if not, that he would move them back. My bike was ready earlier than estimated and I do like the new placement of my hoods. With the new chain my bike runs smoother and quieter! I didn't feel pressured on any of the services and felt like David was an authentically nice guy who knows his stuff. read more

They were so helpful even though I go to the QC store, they helped me out, got me what I needed and were so awesome to deal with. If you want exploitation and poor service, this is your shop. My autistic son brought his electric bike to Bike Masters with a flat rear tire. Their first step was slime install which makes perfect sense in the desert. Unfortunately that didn't resolve the slow leak, so he brought it back. They're supposed to be the experts, so I'm very disappointed with what ensued. He was sold a new tire for a bike with less than 50 miles. So now he has a brand new flat tire, because they failed to replace the leaky tube which obviously should have been the next step after the slime didn't work. Called them back personally, but my frustration was met with deaf ears. When supposed experts exploit a novice suggesting a pricier solution that doesn't even solve the problem - that's the definition of poor service. read more

My mountain bike is my baby. Over the past year or so, I have needed help with a couple of my bikes, usually on short notice. Zac and the other bike mechanics at this location have been super responsive and delivered quality work at very fair pricing. Though I never expect "while you wait" service, they have come through for me several times. In one instance, I needed to have a Fox fork rebuilt and had planned on going to a shop near where I ride. I checked with San Tan Bike Masters and found out that the other shop wanted to over- charge me by $60. That is when I decided that San Tan Bike Masters was my new go-to shop. Fast, thorough, courteous and accommodating, that is rare in an LOB! Keep it up guys! read more

I've been taking my bikes there for years. I have taken my bikes to a couple of other shops from time to time just out of necessity but keep coming back to Bike Masters. The Manager, Scott, really cares about the success of the company. The one time I had a less than stellar experience with one of the techs, Scott, who was with another customer, sensed my frustration. He called me within 15 minutes of leaving the store to apologize and to let me know that he would personally handle all of the maintenance himself. You cannot ask for better service. Went into Bike Masters to find a new bike for my boyfriend. There were a few guests ahead of us but the employee greeted us and said he would be right with us. The employee was very helpful and friendly showing us what bike size we would need to purchase. We did end up purchasing a bike for Bike Masters. While checking out we purchased a few more items and started talking to the employee and he said he was only been at this company for a week. He was GREAT! Really knew his stuff.
