    Strawberry shawty
    Cory C.

I thought this was just a trendy hipster gimmick, but wow, I was blown away with how great this tasted and how unique it is! The way it works is that they lay down some cream on a frozen slab to act as the base, mix in some ingredients, flatten it into a giant square, cut it into strips, roll the strips up, and then finish it off with toppings. Three of us shared the strawberry shawty (original base mixed with strawberries and graham cracker crumbs, topped with whipped cream, strawberry slices, graham cracker pieces, and strawberry drizzle) and Cookie Monster (original base mixed with biscoff cookie crumbs and topped with whipped cream, cinnamon, a whole biscoff cookie, and cookie butter drizzle). They taste just as good as they look. People know I really love something when I make "mmmm" noises while I eat, and that's exactly what happened here! This is a place you must visit if you are in the area. You won't regret it!

Coconut Milk Base With Bananas, Peanut Butter, And Pretzels

Freeze Style is another place to get rolled ice cream. I thought this trend would have just died already. The process is overly complicated, and it usually costs much more than regular stuff. Here it's not as bad. The price is okay and there's a good variety. I got a bowl. It's about $6 for a medium. The ice cream has several choices for bases and toppings. It has several options on the menu. There's also a make your own creation option. I had the coconut milk base. It's dairy free. The mix ins were banana, peanut butter, and pretzels. It has a few tables inside. It's not a big place but there's room for several groups. This is most popular for carryout or sitting outside when it's warm.

Our family recently visited this shop ,located in a nice place , close to OSU , we loved the ambiance ,parking was easy , lots of custom ice cream flavors to choose from , even more interesting was the ice creams were made infront of our eyes , our favorite was the ferrero rocher rolls , we loved it , yummy! We will be back soon !

I think last year is the blooming year for roll ice cream. Nowadays, you can easily find roll ice cream here and there, and even in the mall. Freeze Style is another place the you can get a taste of roll ice cream. You can either get the pre build combo, or build your own with custom flavors and toppings. Beside roll ice cream, they do have smoothies, fruit teas and milk teas. I do highly recommend the Cha Thai roll ice cream. The place is not very big and the sunlight can burst through the big glass window. It is always enjoyable to look at how your ice cream being roll up! Great place to hang out for a little treat for the weekend.

I really wish we had one of these in Tampa. My friend kept telling me she was taking me for interesting ice cream, and I had no idea. What a fun concept. The pictures say it all. You can select from a number of fresh topping choices - including cereal, nuts, fruits and berries - that are chopped up and mashed, and frozen into your selected homemade base flavor ice cream, then rolled up and placed in your chosen sized cup, and even more toppings added to finish it off. You can make your own, or select from about a dozen premade options. I chose one with Biskoff cookies and caramel, whip cream, and mixed some coconut into it as well. It was decadent!

Location: a little hidden it is right next to the bed bath and beyond in the little strip. Probably the best Thai rolled ice cream in Columbus! They have a list of flavors you can choose from or you can build your own! Pricing is better than most places. The matcha berry is amazing!!! It actually tastes like matcha which is hard to find. The Thai tea ice cream was also pretty good. I ended up swapping the lychee for the cookies because I wanted a crunch. My friend ended up getting the pop rocks flavor with coconut milk but the coconut milk tasted a little artificial. All in all, definitely go for the matcha base. Service was great! Will definitely be back!

Finally got to try Thai style rolled ice cream and loved it. There are several tasty recommended options you can choose from. My kids made us their own which mercifully involved chocolate ice cream, marshmallows and gummy bears.. blech. Special points to the guys making the ice cream for not freaking out while making them. I enjoyed my choice: The Buckeye, which involves chocolate ice cream, peanuts and buckeyes (natch) and look forward to trying some other options on future visits. We all got small cups, which were pretty generously sized as none of us actually finished at the store. The guys at the counter were really friendly and even engaged both of my boys (6 and 9) in conversation. My kids were pretty excited about getting their picture taken for the picture wall and they definitely enjoyed the theatrics of watching their ice cream being made. Speaking of which, these guys are working hard to make your dessert, be sure to tip!

This spot goes into my top 3 rolled ice cream spots. The way the flavors meld together at this ice creamery is pretty good. I like the quaintness of the spot. Be warned that when looking for it that the building doesn't actually face the street. You have to drive into the parking lot of the strip mall and it faces the Bed Bath and Beyond. You can get one of the many pre-formulated rolled ice cream creations or you could make your own. It seems that they have just a vanilla base and that that's it. Where as other places have two or more. I got the cookies and cream one. I enjoyed the taste and consistency of it. The presentation of my delightful dessert was on point. It made it even that much more mouth watering. The customer service at this place was quite amazing. I've been to other spots like this and it took for freaking ever to get your rolled ice cream treat. These guys got it to me in no time.

We had so much fun at Freeze Style! The staff was super helpful, as it was our first time. My daughter ordered cookies n cream. The ice cream was outstanding and it comes with POCKY! My mom did the non dairy pineapple coconut. They were super careful about milk issues. It is made with coconut milk and was delicious!!! Fresh pineapple and toasted coconut...yum! We will be back! Oh, and if you tag them in Insta and get 50 likes, you get a free ice cream. We only have 36 right now...check it out @dhoefling.

Fun experience, tasty ice cream! Freeze Style serves rolled ice cream. They have a menu of favorite flavors that you can choose from, or you can create your own. I went off-menu and selected a coffee ice cream base with Biscoff cookie, topped with shaved dark chocolate, more cookies and whipped cream. The friendly staff poured out the ice cream base (made with whole ingredients-nothing weird. They make it in the stores daily) with a splash of Starbucks coffee onto the frozen flat top. She crushed in my cookies and once it was the right consistency, she scraped it off the flat top in little rolls. You can watch them through the whole process. It would be fun with kids. The space isn't really big, a couple of tables and two small bar counters.

Ferrero Rocher with coconut base with added chocolate.

I had been to this place once before and LOVED the ice cream and the Asian owners and staff were so nice!! When I went this second time, I noticed they were under new management and had a much younger staff ( I believe they're a family). I was a little concerned that I'd have the same experience because with this type of ice cream, it takes a special skill to make it well. I ordered the same ice cream I had gotten before (The Chocolate Coma with extra chocolate) and my friend had gotten the Ferrero Rocher hazelnut one and she had hers made with the coconut (egg/dairy free base and added chocolate). Mine still turned out beautiful (and delicious) and my friend said hers was SOO good! The mother/owner noticed we were there celebrating 2 birthdays and placed a candle in both of our ice creams! Then before we left, she also gave us two filled out punch cards that allows us to get a free ice cream upon our next visit! So as you can see, my experience still turned out great! This is a cute, cozy little chill spot with some pretty darn good ice cream and a great staff! Check it out!!

Yummy just yummy! I bought a group here and was kind of scared to try but I'm super happy I did! Freeze style ice cream is super delicious. They are very well priced and they give you a lot! They have have a lot of flavors and options they even have a really cool lightbulb drink. I would definitely recommend this as an afternoon treat or just a great night out!

Very nice ice cream place that is good for groups to hang out! I ordered the green tea ice cream with pineapple, strawberry, and pop candy toppings. Delicious! Friendly staff.

Kid K got the Go Coconuts bowl: coconut sorbet, Nutella drizzle, granola, bananas and berries. All her favorite things. It looked good and she said it was good. And it was big. I got the Island Impact smoothie: papaya juice, pineapple, protein, etc. Smooth and refreshing. And huge- I figured a small would be too small so I got a medium, but dang. An hour later and I've still got a third of it. I was a bit shocked at paying more than $20 for basically a bowl of ice cream and a smoothie, but both were huge, and of course there's a lot of stuff in each. And they were good. We started with a Hot Apple Cider, topped with maple-infused whipped cream and cinnamon, along with a couple of hot coffees. The cider was warm, comforting, and full of cozy fall flavors. Unfortunately, the self-serve coffee station wasn't kept stocked, and after waiting quite a while for a refill, we eventually gave up. For breakfast, we ordered two Mushroom Frittatas, a Fresh Buttermilk Biscuit, and a side of Housemade Breakfast Sausage. The Mushroom Frittata featured three hearth-baked eggs with roasted mushrooms, sweet onions, and Gruyère cheese, served alongside breakfast potatoes and a peppery arugula salad. It was flavorful, hearty, and incredibly satisfying. Although I informed the staff about my peanut allergy, I was surprised to find the crispy breakfast potatoes on my plate, which left me uncertain whether the allergy request had been fully communicated to the kitchen. The Fresh Buttermilk Biscuit, served with strawberry preserves, was one of the highlights of the meal. It was flaky, buttery, and wonderfully moist, pairing perfectly with the sweet preserves. The Housemade Breakfast Sausage consisted of two peppery pork patties that were juicy and well-seasoned, making a great accompaniment to the rest of the meal. Overall, we enjoyed a delicious and filling breakfast with fresh, high-quality ingredients. While I wish the coffee station had been monitored more closely and that greater care had been taken regarding my food allergy, the Mushroom Frittata and fresh biscuit alone make Northstar Café worth returning to.

They are fairly new, about a year old maybe. I was finally able to pay them a visit over the weekend and I'm so glad I did. I'm a big mochi fan and I would say mochi donuts come second after mochi ice cream. These definitely hit the spot. For starters, you can find this place right off 5th street, in that busy shopping complex with Five Guys, Buffalo Wild Wings, Oshio, etc. There's parking out front, with even more in the back. The shop itself is playful with lots of color and cute Instagrammable moments. The murals and donuts on the wall certainly make it photogenic. I'll add that the young lady helping me was attentive and friendly. Now, on to the good stuff! I paid $11 for 3 donuts. I went with the lemon yuzu, strawberry Oreo, and turtle (chocolate, caramel, and nuts). All three were pretty to look at and just as delicious. The lemon yuzu was the most flavorful out of the three. You could tell they were all the same donut, just with different toppings. Maybe if the other two had more icing the flavors would have come through more. Nonetheless, they were gone shortly after. While there's a lot of places starting to carry mochi donuts, if I was craving them specifically, I would come back.
