Wow what a great breakfast! I had the French breakfast. Bread pudding and a chocolate twist orange juice and coffee. Also a baguette. Super delicious. My wife had the salmon and spinach quiche. Great breakfast fare with a laid back staff. They have some giant dogs that hang out back which are super friendly. We visited about mid May and it was nice and shady between 0900 and 1030. Eating on the back deck was nice especially being able to chat up the locals. Bathroom facilities were immaculately clean and the staff was very friendly. Something to keep in mind. This place is not IHOP. The food takes awhile, but it's well worth the wait. This place operates on island time so if you are in the mood for a leisurely breakfast this is just the spot. read more

A whole in the wall off the Southern most point. Its a great little place for breakfast and lunch. All their breads are fresh and dishes are made right there on the spot. We had some sandwiches, salad, croissants all delicious. There is out door seating and the people are French and very friendly. It's clean, little, quaint with great food. read more

The best! Not only was the food great, with an incredibly varied menu, especially for such a small cafe, but everyone there was relaxed and welcoming. When the owner asked how my meal was, I answered in French, "Formidable"! in the best French accent I could muster; she was delighted. She came and sat with us and we had a long, pleasant conversation about her business and Key West, in general. Naturally, they love it there and do a great business. The only drawback was that, after absolutely falling in love with the place, we learned that they're only open for breakfast and lunch, not dinner. On our day trip to Key West, my wife and I got sucked into the tourist section of the city on our way to the Mile 0 marker. We couldn't imagine paying $15 + per person for sub-par sandwiches at all of the fake-restaurants. Then we noticed this little gem just up the street from our parking spot (which, by the way, is $2 / hour...) This place was great. The prices were lower, the staff was friendly (and actually French), and the food was fantastic. If we ever go back to Key West, this will definitely be on our list of places to visit. Honestly Frenchies wasn't as good as the reviews I've read. I had the quiche lorraine which was actually reheated, not fresh. The crust wasn't particularly crispy and it lacked overall depth of flavor. My husband had the salmon baguette with cheese. Generous portions but overall, just ok, nothing we would go back for. My family of 5 stopped for breakfast after our photo-op at the Southernmost Point. We sat at a table out back . due to all indoor seating being taken. We were immediately brought menus and waters. After 25 minutes of no one coming to take our order (another outdoor table ordered and was given food in the amount of time we waited), I went to the front and asked if we needed to come to the front to order or if a waitress would take our order, to which I was told that someone would come to me. Every other table that came in after us was attended to. Not sure what the deal was. Almost like they were purposefully ignoring us. .......10 more minutes later, I went back up to ask if they knew who our server was supposed to be due to no one having come to take our order in over 30 minutes of sitting there. She asked where we were sitting, but she was the waitress serving the table next to us, so there's no way she didn't notice our family sitting there. My husband finally went to the counter and told them we needed 2 coffees after waiting way longer than we should have. When the waitress brought our coffees, she finally took our order. This was and extremely unfortunate lack of service because the food was excellent! We had the quiche Lorraine, French toast, Belgian waffle, omelet, and 2 egg breakfast. If service had been better and I hadn't had to beg for someone to take our order, would have been 5 stars, no doubt! read more

The quiche was loaded with bacon and ham but the flavors of the cheese and egg were just as distinguished. You might run into problems with finding a seat inside, and even if you do, you might feel anxious with the server carrying super hot coffee as s/he squeezes right behind you. The food is so authentic, this place could be the French embassy. Rattatouie, big beautiful croissants, provencial herbs. Man, we loved it. My mother ordered scrambled eggs. I thought at the time: we didn't fly from OKC to Key West to go to a French cafe for you to get plain ol' scrambled eggs we could have made at home. BOY WAS I WRONG. Best scrambled eggs I've ever had. The quiche looked amazing, but we didn't order it. WIll probably be back this trip to order a quiche! Hit this place up and order with confidence.
