I went here for my birthday dinner. I made my reservation through Yelp. They are located in a shopping center so there is ample parking. The greeting when I walked in could use some work. We were seated in a corner :/. It's a different setup than I expected, but it's nice. You can tell that it may have been a quick-to-go place that turned into a restaurant. Our waitress came over, and she was great. We ordered the whipped ricotta and bread for an appetizer. The whipped ricotta was delicious and fresh. The bread was delicious. We got the Italian sodas and entrees. I knew I wanted pasta because they make it fresh in-house. They have a station where you can see the pasta being made. We ordered the casarecce and angel hair pasta. Of course, we got the fresh parm on top. As I was leaving my waitress, I told her it was my birthday, and she was shocked because the hostess had not informed her when it was on my reservation. They give you a piece of cake for your birthday to celebrate with them. My waitress was BOMB, but you read why I knocked off stars. Overall, the food is delicious. read more

Date Night in Lilburn Finally a distinguished date night restaurant in Lilburn. I was introduced to this eatery at the Taste of Lilburn. What a win. Having lived in town and moving to Lilburn our date life has been dare I say devastated by the lack of nicer dining experiences. The restaurant decor is lovely. It definitely feels like an adult place. They have an exquisite monthly experiential dining affair, where they feature wine pairings and cuisines across the globe. The chef experiments and is free to reach beyond their normal menu. It's once per month. The normal menu is a perfect range of dishes. There is an appetizer that thankfully is a mainstay--the sundried tomato pasta bites--Oh my sweet word!!! Were it not summer and the beach/swimsuit season wasn't beckoning, I would order these in troves!! Our server was professional answering our questions about the menu and sharing their experiences. Ambiance, simple nothing fancy. Service was very good. But the food... Not so much. Our guests for the evening had eaten here before, for lunch, And Bragged about how good it was and their experience was outstanding, so we decided to go out with them and have a nice evening meal. Three out of four of us was disappointed. Now the Salad (House) was amazing and my Martini was very nice, but every thing went down hill from there. My Cornish hen was slimy, and the side dish of the HOMEMADE Pasta tasted like something straight from a Box,it was hard and dry, Not el dente. My husbands dish was the lamb (very little lamb) and his pasta was mush. Our friends dish was the seafood pasta, and his, like mine was hard and dry. Terribly overpriced I will stick with Carrabba's, Thank you. IN FACT I think even Olive Garden with their premade entree's might even surpase this dining event Our server did say she would have the kitchen re-do, but who wants to wait for THREE dishes to be redone, Not me. read more

The service was pretty good, but still trying to figure out the ambiance - the space has always been a little awkward and definitely leaned towards being more of a sports bar. I wasn't crazy about my food; pretty expensive and overly salty. Plus my choices are few as a Celiac. I may give it a go another time. What a wonderful experience at this place. It wasn't very busy, but we went in later than usual. We could see the menu with the lighting , didn't have to tell in order to hear each other, and didn't have to listen to the other tables conversations. The service was excellent, didn't have to ask for anything or look around to find someone for help. The food was delicious, everything was served hot and had such flavor. There was a bit of fat that was cut off the steak but the seasoning of the steak made up for it, plus it was cooked just right which seems to be difficult to do these days. The food is okay but way overpriced for what you get, the prices here are what you'd expect to pay in metro Atlanta not Lilburn. $9 for a bread basket? $26 for a small plate of pasta with 2 small meatballs? The highlight was the service, Gabby was great! The ambience was loud due to a large group imbibing a few too many. I love this establishment's location and its potential. I forgot the name of the sports bar it was ten years ago but I was sad to see it go and it hasn't held up since and I can say I believe that it will, at least based on the food. The oil for the bread was amazing and I would buy it by the jar if offered for sale. But the food...the experience was reminiscent of going to your non Southern European American friend's grandmother's house for dinner and wishing you did like Beyonce and had some hot sauce in your bag. The lamb shank was naked completely devoid of herbs and salt and favor in general. The papadrelle gave me heart burn. I did like the BYOB vibes which gave a cozy community feel but I won't be dining in again. read more

Having recently moved to Stone Mountain, I very much wanted this place to be great, given the lacking amount of decent restaurants in and around the area. After reading some reviews, I thought it would be, but i found it to be just ok, and nothing more. I asked the waitress for a Bira Moretti, she had no idea what that was, and clearly hadn't invested too much time in researching anything about famous Italian beers. The house salad was the best thing i had, the pickled red onions were great and the blue cheese was soft and crumbling and full of taste, and it was dressed with the perfect amount of dressing without being overpowering... However, the Tagliatelle al nero was bland at best, and the shrimp, while plentiful, were without taste. The only thing that gave it a mar or seafood flavor was the single scallop in the dish, and the red wine sauce tasted as basic as something i could've bought at Kroger with a Hunts pasta sauce label on it. But the biggest let down was a $9 focaccia bowl, that was so microwaved that the bread bent like rubber and didn't break, there was no flakey crust - something that should be the norm in an Italian restaurant. I hope i just got the place on a bad night, but considering it was a Saturday, I'm guessing this is what passes for "good" Italian food in surrounding area. read more

Fresca Trattoria did a fabulous birthday party today for my friend and her daughter. 35 people on the right side of the restaurant privately. Served appetizers that were fabulous, choice of salads, then a buffet of pizza , pasta and the desserts, all delish. Wine, water, tea, sodas offered and the entire 3 1/2 hour party was awesome. The birthday girl hired a wonderful magician and Fresca did an awesome job with food and service. Hats off to Lisa and her crew. This restaurant is a great addition to our area. read more

The interior space is beautiful and modern (it looks more like a Midtown restaurant than a Mountain Park restaurant), our server was great, despite us being a very large and disorganized party...but the food is the real star here. My daughter raved (and is still raving) about Fresca Trattoria, and we decided to go there for Easter Sunday brunch not long ago. This place has *amazing* food and service!! So I'M raving about it now too.The Sunday buffet was incredible. I have several serious food allergies (to gluten and tree nuts). The owner was very kind and informative about which items were safe for me to consume. She even took the time to mark up a takeout menu showing which items were gluten free. When I found out that their pasta could be made with gluten free flour, I practically jumped out of my seat----Of course I ordered some and it was delicious. I have been back to the restaurant twice since Easter to order takeout (pasta), and next time I go I'll sit down for lunch and take my time eating some more yummy GF items. I highly recommend Fresca to anyone looking for great Italian food at reasonable prices and a place with gluten free and vegan options. read more
