It's hard to rave about a restaurant when the best part of the Sunday brunch buffet are the raw carrots with the salad. Husband and I decided to try our luck at eating here, as the last time they were packed. I think we arrived before the church crowd (just before 11) so we had almost the whole restaurant to ourselves. The wait staff was polite and prompt. But the food?? Well, that was another matter. I skipped the breakfast section and went for the lunch. Since I am doing a no carb or sugar way of eating, I will say they had a large selection. But the food was mediocre at best. The two carving station options were a bit dry, as was the baked fish. The vegetable medley was a bit soft. The chicken cacciatore was not bad. But the best thing on the menu were the sliced, raw carrots at the salad station. Crispy, sweet and gigantic! I did not partake of the desserts or the breakfast, but my husband's French toast was audibly crunchy and he didn't even attempt a second bite at the brownie, nor partake of the second mini cannoli I picked up for him. Easily top 3 worse service I have ever received. Brooke was terrible. We had 730 reservations. We sat right away. The host was great and Welcoming. We sit down and Brooke comes over in about 5 minutes. It's 740 when she gets are appetizer, wine bottle and my daughter salad. We receive the food fairly fast maybe 15 mins. We didn't receive our wine until 810.... 30 minutes later. When she came to us before we got it I remind her and she goes "oh yeah I'll go get it" me and the girl I'm with order 2 salads and and 2 entrees. I order my salad with no crouton and extra cucumbers. Salad comes with crouton and no cucumbers (Caesar salad) I have to get up because she doesn't check on us. I tell her. She gets a new salad still crouton on it. She also didn't bring us bread for 25 minutes. Entrees we're great and the food was amazing. But what makes people come back isn't the food it's the hospitality. And she missed the mark on all points. I probably wont return when there's so many options out here to eat. We just dined at Flemings and rooftop. Choices are everywhere and this was an important night as I was introducing my child to my friend. Brooke truly made us feel like we wasn't worth good service and average hospitality. I'm writing this as we wait 12 minutes and counting for our dessert. Good First visit to Fresco. Location is pretty industrial, but the restaurant inside is tastefully decorated with s quiet ambiance, perfect for a week day meal and conversation. Definitely try the grilled pizza. Had the rabbi and white bean pizza and it did not disappoint. Both of us had daily specials of a chicken with eggplant and a veal with eggplant and pasta. The food is delicious They try, but light on ambience Go WELL before you're hungry It's too quiet on a weekday evening here, so the very-audible 80s soul they're piping in elicited a grimace...but we sat down for a try at a place very local to us, well-rated thus far. My family loved our dinner here. The kids enjoyed pizza and lasagna. My wife had the Lobster Frescatore, and I had the Tossed Lasagna. Each bite was somewhere between good to excellent. Despite big portions, our plates were mostly clean by the time we were done. Also, I enjoyed that they had half portions at a commensurate price, as full portions were very nearly monstrous. The menu is varied and expansive (several pages of appetizers, salads, pasta, meat and fish entrees, and desserts). The wine list is extensive and enjoyable ($7-10/glass, bottles run the popular gamut across styles). The cocktail list is creative and playful (first inside page of the menu). The beer offering is tight yet capable (3 OK drafts and about 8 bottle selections). But the wait? Oh MAN. Dinner for a family of four took two full hours from sit-down to check-paid. Some good , some bad ... great server , cool atmosphere. My wife ordered the lobster ravioli and it was delicious. I attempted to order the prime rib ( they were out ) .so , as my alternative I ordered the filet mignon medium rare. The filet mignon was very dry and tough . I mentioned this to the server (who asked because I had only eaten one bite of it ) . She did offer to get me something else but I do not like reordering at restaurants. The server did take our desert off the bill and seemed to be a great server. So the food was 50/50 good -bad The service from the waitress was good read more

I've been here quite a few times and have never had a bad experience until last night. Service is typically great and the food has always been amazing. I love the ambiance. The environment is very cozy and it is never too crowded. I often times go for the Monday night special, it is such a deal! However, the reason for me leaving a poor review has to do with my experience yesterday evening. My friends and I have recently been craving Fresco's amazing food so we decided to go for the Monday night special. We saw on their Google website that they closed at 10pm on Mondays. A friend of ours had work until 8pm so we decided to make a reservation for 8:30. We walked in the doors at about 8:40 and the staff looked at us like we had 10 heads. We apologized for running a few minutes behind and we told them we were here for our 8:30 reservation. They passive aggressively told us that they closed at 9 so we would need to put our meals in as soon as possible. We informed them that their Google website said they closed at 10 and that their OpenTable allowed us to make reservations as late as 9pm on Mondays. A taller blonde woman recognized us and said "They're always in here, they'll be in and out" and is the only one who was trying to get us seated. However, the rest of the staff were extremely unwelcoming and clearly did not want us to stay. So we said "Never mind, it's okay. We will go somewhere else" and we left. Myself and everyone I was with are in the service industry as well. We all know the annoyance of someone walking in right before close but we would never have acted the way the staff acted towards us. They might as well have just denied us a seat by the way they were trying to get us out of there. Long story short, the Google website absolutely needs to be updated to closing at 9pm on Mondays AND their OpenTable should not allow reservations that late if guests are going to be treated poorly when they arrive for their reservation. I understand there can be miscommunications and that is okay but I just feel like we should not have been treated the way we were especially if the miscommunication is due to an error on the businesses end AND especially if we come in their as often as we do. Had we have been given a welcoming experience and were seated, we would have absolutely been in and out and provided the server an excellent tip for being so accommodating. Overall, I am leaving 2/5 stars because I truly do love this place but after last night, I am upset. I hope this review can be a learning experience for the staff and will cause the times on their Google website and OpenTable to be changed. read more

Cranston location- made a reservation from yelp in which only allowed me to choose up to 6 guests so I left a note letting them know we would also have a child with us so table for 7. That wasn't noticed so we added a chair ourselves because the hostess never came back with one As she was supposed to. Initially I was over it but as the room filled we felt a little crammed because our family was sitting elbow to elbow. Server was nice but his idea of humor was a little weird. No big deal.... the food was alright. I was disappointed In my dinner which i ordered prime Rib. My sister had the same & we agreed that it wasn't a good cut & nothing like prime rib we've had elsewhere. Not melt in your mouth. We were waiting to use the restroom which is next to a server station ... puddles of water on the floor. When brought to a waiters attention he basically shrugged it off and it hadn't been cleaned in the 10/15 minutes I spent between waiting in line and helping my 4 year old in the bathroom. Lastly, it was my birthday. I don't really eat dessert but in honor of turning 30 my parents suggested a Slice of cake for the table. it didn't come out before the bill , which Is how I caught on to the gesture of my little treat I wasn't supposed to know about. It wasn't an awful night but I would have liked To have been able to sit more comfortably eating a delicious slice of prime rib. Was ok, nothing so bad that I would trash the place, but some of the finishing touches weren't executed to enhance the evening. We made reservations on line and showed up 5 minutes early, even though it was fairly busy there were open tables, however none of the tables were set up, and then it took at least 5 minutes for someone to start setting up the table (slight miss #1). After being seated we ordered wine, but wasn't offered bread or anything else although other tables had baskets of bread. This wouldn't have bothered me as much but since I ordered linguine with clams bread would have gone well, but I didn't love the seasoning of the clam sauce so I didn't make a big deal about the bread, just would of been nice to have the option. Other than that it was an ok meal, nothing to write home about but not so bad that I wouldn't give it another chance if someone wanted to go. read more

We Love Cafe Freso in EG so the bar was held high for Fresco Too, it did not disappointment us! We sat at the bar to eat, great comfy area. It takes up about 30% of the restaurant. I had the salmon with pesto and it was deeeelish, the broccoli rabi was perfectly seasoned with roasted garlic and scrumptious, too good to be healthy but who cares when your treating yourself to a new restaurant! My husband had the NY strip and it was cooked to perfection, he practically licked the plate clean! OMG I just spotted eggplant-wedges from the couple on the side of us, the cheese is oozing out, I wonder if they would mind sharing? Surly they cant eat all of that! read more

Had dinner here with my husband, parents and my two children on 2/13 for my mom's birthday. Our server Danielle C. was a delight, very pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu and specials. We ordered calamari and the angus bruschetta to start with and both were very tasty. My 1 year old really enjoyed the sauce on the bruschetta. My mom and husband each ordered the seafood bisque and said it was delicious, my 4 year old enjoyed the chicken escarole soup and chicken fingers. Our entrees were delicious (two different kinds of veal, bone-in swordfish with veggie risotto and the filet mignon). The servings were generous and prepared exactly as ordered. We'd definitely be back. One minor bummer, my husband asked for his risotto to be wrapped to go and the busser put a dirty dish on top of it, so that ended that. The worst part of my evening was the tight parking lot. My car was hit and the person drove away. I left a message for the manager to ask about security cameras outside, hopefully this can get resolved soon. The incident didn't sour me towards the restaurant but I don't think I'll drive there again. UPDATE I very promptly heard back from management about my car and unfortunately, in spite of the $3500 worth of damage (yes, you read that right, I got nauseous when I got the call from the insurance adjuster) there are no cameras outside at Fresco. I love the grilled pizzas from here, they have many different pizzas like bolognese, pink vodka, braised short rib and arugula and prosciutto which are all awesome. We live so close to Fresco but hadn't tried it yet in the three years we lived in Coventry. One night we decided to go on a whim and loved it! We were seated right away and our orders were taken quickly. We both ordered alcoholic drinks that were really good. I ordered a pasta dish on the specials menu that included steak tips and it was amazing. The pasta is home made and was cooked perfectly. The flavor of the sauce was incredible. Stop by Sunday afternoon, right at the end of the brunch and all the chafing dishes looked dried and picked over. Let me correct myself, when we walked in it was still brunch but by the time they got around to actually sitting us down at 1 of the 8 empty tables and by the time we got to be greeted once we actually sat down it was the end if brunch so we opted for the menu and ordered dinner instead. Ordered the ahi tuna tower, they should eliminate the rice it would be so much better. And the braised espresso rubbed short ribs, not worth the $14.00 at all. There was 3 little pieces of what I thought was meat but no it was (3)1.5in x 1.5in pieces of short rib with the bone so there was actually 3 bites worth of meat on the whole dish. I've gotten 3 huge pieces of stewed short rib stroganoff at red stripes for a few dollars more. Okay now for my entree, I ordered the special of course which was the stewed veal with sweet peas over homemade pappardelle pasta. The tuna tower was amazing I cannot wait to have it again! I love how it tasted with the seaweed salad & rice. The bread & oil was extremely tasty as well, with a little kick. My husband had a swordfish served on the bone and he loved it. He said it was the best swordfish he's ever tasted. I had a ravioli special that had mushrooms, projuitto, asparagus and I think mascarpone cheese. It was really good! First visit to fresco. My wife and I were surprised to see a restaurant inside of an industrial complex building and were skeptical at first, but we decided to try it. The interior was very nice and the entire staff seemed very professional. The menu had a lot of choices. The prices were on the higher side, but the food is very good. My wife and I both ordered the linguini and meatball plate at $18 each. I will say though, the meatballs were huge! It came with 2 meatballs that would equal about 6 regular size meatballs. The pasta sauce was very good also. Chunky, authentic Italian sauce, none of that bitter pastey stuff. This is my favorite restaurant in RI. There bread is to die for, and their swordfish chop is super moist. I also love the chicken and eggplant melazane. Even their Chianti was lovely. We love the restaurant on Comstock in Cranston as well as the one on Main Street in East Greenwich. You truly can't go wrong if you want excellent Italian food!!!! read more

I've been to Fresco twice: once for brunch on Sunday and once for dinner mid-week. Both times, the servers were very attentive and the food was excellent. I recommend trying the brunch out first. It's $15.95 per person, unlimited breakfast and lunch at the buffet and each person receives a complimentary mimosa! Standard breakfast food, but the Southwestern eggs and their home fries were so yummy! My boyfriend got some breakfast and part of the lunch. He said the prime rib and stuffed chicken were really good. The second time, I came for dinner. Again, food was excellent. I had the honey onion, goat cheese grilled pizza. It was thin, but it was a good sized pizza. I ended up taking most of it home. The drinks were also tasty. Modern decor, upscale feel, but not intimidating for someone who is just looking for a casual meal. Definitely recommend! read more
