I've eaten here several times and while I will admit that the service isn't lightning fast, it's certainly well within acceptable standards. This is a restaurant designed to encourage its diners to relax, savor, and enjoy... not scarf and run. I've never had anything at Fresco that I didn't thoroughly enjoy, but the Artichoke Prawn pizza is absolutely phenomenal. The crust is crisp and charred just perfectly on the bottom, and the combination of toppings pair perfectly with one another. (I just made my mouth water... guess what I'll be picking up for dinner tonight, haha! Seriously.) Another divine creation is the Creamy Spinach pizza. Delish. Seriously, try these pizzas. Try them now, and thank me later. As for the pasta, the Fire Pasta is excellent. The Bowtie Pasta is excellent. The Quattro Formaggio Pasta is excellent. It's ALL excellent, including the Bloody Marys. The Antelope Valley is not exactly a food mecca, but believe me when I tell you that Fresco II is truly a culinary oasis in this gourmet desert. Average at best. The restaurant had live music, good atmosphere for a Sunday lunch. The food was average. I picked the chicken plate with mashed potatoes. The chicken was ok I think Albertsons sells a juicier and more flavorful rotisserie chicken. The appetizer was really good the shrimp and mango sauce. I know I won't be saying man I crave that chicken from frescos, or man I can't wait to go to frescos. The price was somewhat high for the quality and taste of food. Where do I start? This meal took two hours and 15 minutes to arrive ..with a reservation. We were served by Roger who was probably in the wrong profession. By far the worst waiter I've ever had! He was came out 35 minutes after taking our order to "confirm" the order? He was extremely rude and defensive when told him we would like our food after an hour and a half with kids crying. The servers kept refilling our children's drinks even though we told them not to do so three times! The manager came out, but still did not produce any food and basically disappeared. The positive side was the owner's daughter who handled the situation professionally and took great pride in her restaurant. The food her kitchen prepared was authentic, homemade Italian pasta and she was a very lovely person. This place just needs some new staff and better management. read more

Still 5 out of 5. Their food is insane. I have never ordered something that I wasn't a fan of. The service is great- we always get this one waiter and I can't remember his name but he is excellent. This time around we ordered the Firecracker Shrimp- it came with shrimp and jalapenos with a tequila lime mango dipping sauce (our favorite appetizer). We also ordered their friend pickles which were also delicious. For the main course I got the Mediterranean Salad- it was jam packed with kamata olives, artichokes, bell peppers, feta,etc, and it came with pita bread and tzatziki sauce. It was killer. My husband got the Stuffed Seabass this time and he ate everything on his plate. We had two desserts (thanks to our server- we were celebrating). We had the Chocolate Double Cake (oh..my..gosh... it was flawless) and the Spumoni which was my first time trying it and it was tasty. I highly recommend this place to people! read more

When every other restaurant in the area had a full parking lot and this place had only about 4 cars in its lot, we should have turned tail and run. Instead, we forged ahead and gave Fresco II a try. Never again! I ordered the French Toast, which was accompanied by bacon, sausage, and potatoes. First of all, the French Toast was dry, obviously having not been soaked long enough. Then it was stuffed with such a small amount of mascarpone that they might as well not have even bothered. Plus, the mascarpone was unseasoned and flavorless. Add to that precisely 5 strawberry slices, and you have a recipe for the worst French Toast ever! While the bacon and sausage were fine, probably only because it's hard to screw up something so simple, the potatoes were a major fail. They were overly spiced, with flaccid bits of red pepper and onion mixed in, and completely clashed with the French Toast. After a few bites of this monstrous mash-up, I gave up. The entree was removed from our bills, but it's destined to live on in my memory, like a lingering nightmare. Then there was the Sausage Penne, which was at least edible, if uninspired, and it was very watery. The bread they brought to the table was probably the best part of the meal. What I have to wonder, however, is why you would pair a sweet bread with a garlic-y dipping sauce. They didn't work together at all. read more

Goto this place. It was Friday night and my wife and I wanted to grab a bite to eat before going to a movie. All of the big name chain restaurants were packed so we kept driving and saw Fresco II. Don't let the Mediterranean scare you. They have all types of food and it almost seems as if they specialize in pastas. I got the Filet and Shrimp and the entire meal was delicious. I got a Hennessy and Ginger Ale, it was strong for $9. Place is a little pricy but overall food is great. They had live music too that's definitely a plus. read more

Celebratory dinner with my parents. All dishes were fairly great, my dad ordered his Greek island dish and I ordered a bow tie pasta dish with a spicy shrimp seafood clam chowder side order. Mom ordered an appetizer and loved the stuffed mushrooms and shrimp portion. If you're in town, want a romantic setting with decent service and Mediterranean food. You should try this out. He got our order wrong, brought the wrong bottle of wine and opened it before showing it to us. He was obviously preoccupied and couldn't focus on our dinner. The cost was around 10.99 and I got a chicken, meatball vegetable soup with a spinach salad and both were delicious. I got seconds of both and would love to return here again for lunch sometime. I took my mom here on a Saturday evening and it surprisingly wasnt very busy. They has a man and his son playing the cello in the bar area so we sat and ate dinner there. My mom order the meatball entree which she really enjoyed. She said the meatball was cooked perfectly, very tender. The sauce was a bit acidic. My boyfriend ordered the salmon and he really liked it. I really liked mine as well. I also got the sangria which was really good too. The price is a little on the higher end for the area but the portions are pretty big. I'd definitely return. read more

Went here for a friend's birthday. We made reservations before and were seated right away. We had beer and the fire jalapeno shrimp -- amazing!! For dinner I had a chicken Caesar salad, but I brought my own ranch and just asked for their dressing on the side (It's lower fat, and I was watching my calories!). My friends had a cobb salad, WOW that was HUGE, another friend had filet mignon, she said it was great, another friend had pizza -- WOW another huge portion, and hubby had the most amazing grilled veggies with candied carrots and zucchini. It is very rare for me to rate a restaurant 5 stars but Fresco II earned it for me today. Granted, we were the only ones dining at 1pm on a Monday but the service was great! Our waters with cucumber slices were always full so our mouths were never dry. We had a very hard time choosing what to eat because everything on their menu looked amazing. The pre-appetizer bread was soft, buttery, & had a hint of sweetness. The olive dipping sauce was perfect with it even though I could have eaten the bread without it it was so good. All this to be followed with great-tasting, large-portioned, reasonably-priced main courses. There wasn't a disappointing meal out of all of us. It was all out first time at this location and we were all completely satisfied and will be back soon for more. read more

This restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and lots of tasty, interesting menu choices. One of the dishes I has there was a chicken dish with feta and pine nuts and it was excellent. The first time I went there was a keyboard player which was very romantic. The service can be a little slow ( I've run out of my drink a few times there) and it can be a little pricey but overall I like it and would go back again. A "1" rating is higher then they deserve. Made reservation for Valentines Day early in the week. Here's a breakdown of the evening: 1) Asked before making reservation if it was a prefixe menu or open menu and was told open but they possibly might add a prefixe menu too as it got closer so possibly would be both but for now open menu. I made reservation. 2) walked in at 7 and I'm not on the list of reservists. Hostess's seemed very flustered wouldn't answer any of my questions about what was going on and they did find my reservation on the computer so they sat us. 3) it wasn't an open menu at all but only a prefixe for $150.00 for 2. 4) my wife and I both ordered a filet mignon with puréed potatoes, grilled asparagus and a bernaise sauce, she ordered a baked Brie appetizer and a winter salad. I ordered the other choice offered which was shrimp cocktail and NE Clam Chowder. Plus a glass of champagne. 5) 4 shrimp in my cocktail and her Brie was finished in 3-4 bites. Chowder was very good her salad had to be eaten with a fork and knife as lettuce pieces were huge. 6) at 9:00 I finally called someone else's server over to ask if our order had been lost it's been two hours. She retook our order so I guess it was lost. Food came out about 9:10 or so and couldn't believe this was $42 ala carte. It wasn't a steak but some slices off a steak, maybe 5 or 6 small bites, potatoes were runny and there were "6" grilled baby asparagus. No joke! plus, no bernaise sauce. I called the server over again and told her that there was no sauce amongst other issues but the sauce was actually not even served on the meal. She said sorry and brought us another glass of champagne but no bernaise. I won't even bother with dessert, I'll leave it to the imagination. 6) not $1 adjusted from the bill. This meal was over $200 after only leaving a 15% tip which for me is light. Fresco, I was at a Christmas party in December there which cost me $30 and the food was ok but we had to wait in our buffet line for 30 minutes because "your kitchen didn't make enough". I should have expected this. It won't happen again. I'll NEVER ever patronize your restaurant again. Your restaurant sucks. read more

I went to Fresco II for the first time last night with my mom to celebrate her birthday. I'd heard from friends many times that it's the best restaurant in the AV, so I walked in with high hopes. I was not disappointed by anything! The bread and dip was amazing, the ambiance was very nice and the service was great (maybe a little too excited about the food though...) I had the greek chicken and my mom ordered the feta chicken, both of which were amazing! The only thing that I wasn't too happy about were the prices. Maybe I'm just used to inexpensive restaurants because I live in the AV, but this will have to become a special occasions restaurant for me. My buddies and I walked in to drink some beer and have a good meal, well we were way under dressed! lol One side of the room is all romantic, dim lighting and candles...Guess where we got seated at, FML! We should of sat at the bar but unfortunely there was a live band and it was completely full. Cons: Its very packed inside, it could really use a bit more spacing to allow traveling between isles. After 9ish, they dim the lights just a tade bit more and browsing the menu is near to impossible if that damn candle isnt lit! Pros: Great for a date! They have a very good bartender with moderate pricing on the drinks. The food is quite pricey but it's expected for the quality and service you get. The staff are extremely friendly, dressed to impress! I had the chicken marsala and it trompted every italian restaurant I've ever been to. My friend had a 22oz steak which came out perfectly cooked without an ounce of fat, it had the perfect amount of seasoning on it and was about 2 inches thick. Tip: Come on the weekend, at night the girls wear very attractive attire. You will be rubber necking!!! read more

I went to frescos on Friday night with a group of friends. While we were waiting for our food we heard a loud argument from the kitchen, and the staff talking about an incident where one of the owners threw a dirty dish towel into the dirty cleaning water and it splashed into the sauce cooking on the stove . Overhead servers discussing a verbal altercation that occurred between kitchen staff and the owner, where the owner slopped bleach cleaning water into sauce cooking on the stove and the owner still sent the sauce out in meals!!! And let's face it BJs is not worth a 45 minute wait. So we decided to go fo fresco and what a good decision it was. The service was perfect! Food was excellent and so so so fresh.
