I've been looking for a good Poke spot in the area and this is hands down the best. Portions and quality of fish/seafood are on are point. Really enjoyed the different sauce options. The dinning area was very clean and comfortable. It would have been nice to hear some Hawaiian/Reggae music. Wish they sold Hawaiian Sun & Dole Whip to compliment the great food. Additional it doesn't make sense why this is two dollar sign ($$) you're literally spending $10-$15 for your entire meal. People are bugging cause that's value for what you get. read more

Fresh Box bears an incredible resemblance to the only other poke place I've been to: Poke Salad. The only difference is, Fresh Box looks a lot nicer inside, plus they have a lot more seating. They're located on the side of the Park n' Shop that is pretty much unseen, so maybe not the best location, but at the same time it's also away from the craziness of the rest of the plaza. My order is the same, no matter where I go and no matter how many times I go: Tuna, tuna, tuna. Spicy tuna, yellowfin tuna, tuna tuna. I Love tuna. I nix the rice and go for the greens instead. Because the greens aren't as filling as the rice, I feel justified when I get the large box. I add jalapenos for some heat, which also helps clear up my sinuses. I add seaweed salad, because the tartness adds a nice contrast to the savory fish. And I add avocado because it adds fat and heftiness to the box. When it comes down to it, if you were to choose between here and Poke Salad, I would choose the closest of the two options. As I mentioned, both are EXTREMELY close in concept and quality. If you're a poke aficionado, however, definitely give this place a try. read more

We shared a large box and the employee offered to add an extra scoop of imitation crab or seaweed salad. Possibly one of the best poke spots we've been to so far! I tried this place on a whim, and picked up lunch for me and my husband. I ordered 2 small boxes (one with only tuna and the other with salmon and tuna). I am very particular with my seafood as i do not like the "fishy taste." To my disappointment, my tuna was very fishy. I didn't even say anything to my husband, and he even said there was a fishy/unpleasant taste to his order as well. This poke place also has less of a selection of sides and sauces, as opposed to the other places we've been to. Their small box is about the same price, if not more, than other spots' medium bowls. Best poke in the Concord area! I always have a hard time deciding between their yellow tail, salmon, tuna, and spicy tuna (very spicy). This is a tough review to leave because we really like Fresh Box and are sad that we will not be likely to return. This review is for the customer service alone, because my family and myself enjoy the food. Some members of my family have special dietary restrictions and we have come in multiple times and have had one particular employee refuse to help accommodate said restrictions. Citing it's the restaurant policy to not allow me to request that certain items go on the side rather than inside my box. This is especially bothersome because these items come with the meal and are something I will be paying for anyway. The point is I'm not asking for anything extra or anything that I will not be paying for... It's confusing to me that if a child is unable to eat rice (so no base) and their parent wants to instead give their scoop of crab salad to said child that the person scooping adamantly refuses. If I'm paying for 6-8 scoops of crab salad (because I'm purchasing multiple boxes) why does it matter which box you put it in OR why can't you put it on the side like I am requesting if I need to accommodate a child? I don't think it's appropriate that I have to disclose particular dietary issues in line to defend my request. I also can't understand a restaurant having a "policy" that parents can't share with their children until they are handed their box! Basically, a customer can scoop their own crab salad to share with their child, but the restaurant is unwilling to do this or put on the side so parents and children alike can accommodate dietary concerns/allergies. Yum! I was really impressed with the level of freshness! Most of the poke places have a weird aftertaste, but the fish here taste so yummy! And the cut is good, nice and big, not little tiny pieces of chewy fish. Sauces are very complementing, and not overpowering. I just wished they'd put the sauces on the side. Not only is the food delicious, the service is great! I came in today to get a medium box. A younger gal with beautiful tattoos helped me and my mom, and she gave us SUPER generous portions, to the point where neither of us could finish them! Ordered during quarantine, amazing value for all that you get and really fast delivery (20 mins). I got a medium box which allows you to get 3 protein for like $13. I choose a brown rice base, they also have white rice, chips and greens, with 2 servings of the spicy tuna (minced) and a serving of shrimp. They have sooooo many toppings/additions/finishes. I got Spicy Mayo and Spicy Poke sauce, cucumbers, mango, jalapeños, crab salad and crunchy onion and garlic to top it off. Again, all of that was less than $15 bucks! This is my favorite poke place in concord! They have just the right amount of everything. The place is located in a shopping center with plenty of parking. It's a small place but plenary of seating. The service is good and the food is yummy. They have the standard options of fish and toppings. They don't have a crazy variety of topping but I've noticed the more toppings a place has the lower the food quality gets. I think it's just too much to get right. The only thing i wish they had was avocado! They also offer a "nacho" version of their bowl. Where you can get chips instead of rice or salad. This is kinda like a ceviche bowl. Thursday, October 12, 2017 Location: Fresh Box, Concord Ca People: 1 Adult Story: So, I had a day off, I already had my mind made up and knew I wanted "Poke" so I headed to "Concord" to cross "Freshbox" off my list. The location is what intrigued me the most, and the convenience factor is what made this place a must go. So with my camera ready and an empty stomach, I made my way in with my "Uncle" (Iron Chef reference) in mind. Service/Hospitality: Well the welcome was indeed warm. Smiles from the two female attendents and a "Hello" from both of them was nice. I liked the fact that as I sat with my "Freshbox" The owner and one of the attendents came out to ask how I liked their product and how did I find out about them. Of course I had to let them know "Yelp" brought me there to their delight they told me "Feel free to take pics and please give your honest opinion" I liked the attention to the consumer here, I was all around pleased. Food/Cleanliness: This place was clean, the attendants were constantly cleaning and sanitizing after each order they made. The restroom (gender neutral) was clean and in order and the condiment area was neat and together as well. I like going to places that are clean because it makes me feel better about eating there and you will get that experience here. Now, on to my "Freshbox" I opted for the Large Box $13.95 which is 4 scoops. I got a Orangina $2.00 for my drink. For my proteins I choose Spicy Tuna, Yellowtail, Salmon, Scallops. They have 4 options of "I Like It" which is premade mixes that you could add to your box to make it further your way. I didn't choose from the options but rather told them what sauces and mixes I wanted "A La Carte" which is an option. I have to say, "Freshbox" is true to their namesake. This was the best "Poke" bowl I've had so far, it was perfectly balanced and they put just the right amount of sauce and my selected toppings in my box. The large was honestly more than enough for me, 2 people honestly could of ate off the large I had, but I'm greedy and did finish it. A perfectly balanced bowl and totally worth the price. Overall: Nestled away in a secluded section of the "Park N Shop" (Concord) shopping center this place is in my opinion a nice addition to the plaza. The product they're bringing is of course "Fresh" and it kinda "Hip" something that I think is a perfect addition to the revamping this shopping center is going through. So I hope more people and even more of the "Yelpdom" visits here and put this place even more in the spotlight. Because quality and service deserves to be highlighted. I'm indeed a fan. read more

UGH I love this place. One of my favorite in the 925 area for sure. I've received great customer service on every visit. The tables and floors are always spotless, not just clean, SPOTLESS. Thats something I always pay close attention to. Sometimes I feel like the pieces of fish can be cut a little wonky giving you unpleasant texture although it's only happened a few times. Even w that being said the fish is always super fresh. They have a good selection of add-ons and sauces. Both the white and brown rice have good texture though I do wish the temperature was a bit cooler when it's served. Also in my opinion they have good variations in the size of their boxes. A small is perfect for a snack, medium/large for an actual meal. They do also have a freezer of macaron ice cream sandwiches. I've only tried one once & it was a bit hard for my liking. Once I let it thaw a bit the macaron just because sticky and crumbly, not sure if that's a thing that usually happens. TLDR; it's quiet place & it's delicious. Don't doubt it, just go. read more
