our go to place for poke , especially when the kids are home from Utah. This is usually their first stop off the plane, not Zippy's. Eat here at least once a week although we usually take out and don't dine in. Fav poke is the Spicy Hawaiian, like the limu in there not just ahi and mayo. The spicier ones are too hot for the family , although I will eat it. Always order the Furikake Fries with a Poke order, not so unique, mayo sauce with furikake to sprinkle over regular seasoned fries. Best when fresh and hot. Found out that a phone in order is a lot faster than going in; always wanted to wait at the window; so now my wife makes me pick up poke and fries on the way home as I work down the street. read more

Been wanting to try this place for a while. The lady behind the counter was friendly. Ordered an Ahi Katsu Plate which seemed kinda priced $11. I was kinda disappointed because when I asked what I could substitute for rice the only option was greens which actually is just some wilted lettuce. It took a really long time come. The katsu was cooked perfectly and nicely breaded. The problem was... It was all breading! And a super thin layer of fish. :( I'm sorry but I didn't pay $11 for breading. The sauce I'm guessing some kinda mayo and then furikake on the side was tasty. Overall, if there had been more fish in it I would come again. I've definitely had better furikake salmon and fried poke before. I felt that both dishes were over-cooked. The fried poke ended up being too tough for my taste. I was a bit disappointed. The potato salad was not mixed thoroughly and was all mayo. Even though they are new the service was quite slow. It took about half hour to get our food and then they didn't give us utensils to eat with (we ordered the plates to go). The only plus is that you get a free fountain drink with your plate. Overall, I'd rather spend my money eating at Uncle's, Nico's, or Poke Stop. read more

The mister and I have been wanting to eat here for weeks but have never really had the opportunity to do so. I'd asked friends if they'd had any experiences with the food and while all of them are crazy over the fresh poke and fish, none had really tried their plate lunches. But today, today I had the opportunity to eat one of their popular dishes and I can definitely see why it is! A co-worker had decided last week that we'd eat here the following week and boy am I happy we did! My three co-workers and I all ate the crab-stuffed ahi plate which comes with a huge piece of panko-breaded ahi that's deep fried just enough so it's crispy and light without being oily. It's placed on a bead of shredded lettuce which is nice because it acted like a small salad which cut the richness of the dish. The ahi "roll" was cut into roughly 8 or 9 pieces and was drizzled with a sweet mayo/shoyu based sauce. The plate comes with two scoops of rice and everything was covered in a dusting of furikake. If you don't like furikake you may want to ask them to go light on it when you order. The crab stuffing was delicious! First of all, it was real lump crab meat, not that imitation crap. The meat was tossed with some mayo and maybe a few spices but was otherwise simple and sweet. The filling could have stood to have a bit less mayo but it worked. The best part was that the ahi was cooked perfectly - just a bit cooked on the outter edges while still being slightly raw/pink toward the middle, which is how I like it. All in all a very good and satisfying dish; i ate the whole thing and am a bit sad that I did because I am super full but for the price ($10.50) you can't go wrong. I would definitely recommend FC for ono and fresh seafood and can't wait to try them again soon! read more

I'm from the Mainland, so I was unenthusiastically eating my way through my 4 day trip to Hawaii when my Mom (who now lives in Kaneohe) insisted that we eat here. Initially, I was a little frightened of the display of strange and unfamiliar poke and marinating items in the refrigerated case. I was expecting a larger restaurant, and this place looked like just a takeout place. It has just a few tables and stools. So, to be polite, I ordered the Teri Salmon Furikake. WOW...! Melted in my mouth, with a silky sauce and bright furikake. Two shiny mounds of white rice (with more of that heavenly furikake) and a fountain drink accompanied the meal, although I purchased a Vitamin Water instead. It was seriously the best meal I had in HI, because THAT SALMON WAS THAT GOOD! I agree with Chuco T.... I nearly ate the Styrofoam container. I would have ordered another if I had been there alone. Bottom line: Although I was initially put off by the informality of the place, I loved it... I can't wait to come back to this place for another clean, fresh meal. I hope it prospers! read more

It was still good but the prices were a little high... we ordered some shoyu poke, spicy ahi poke, octopus poke and some smoked meat. Everything tasted great and the place was packed! This was our first time trying poke and we were told we needed to try Fresh Catch. We are not usually huge raw fish fans, but as far as raw fish goes, this is amazing. We ordered the shoyu poke bowl which came with a generous portion of both poke and rice. The fish was so incredibly fresh and the shoyu seasoning was out of this world. This place is always "FRESH" and Delish. For those of you that aren't into raw Poke try my favorites the Fried Poke Fried Rice or the Smoked Meat Fried Rice, both have grilled onions and are cheap and filling. Those of you that want something different, the sandwiches are terrific especially like the Ahi Belly. Everything I've had is fantastic and prices are good. Smoked Tako is aromatic and cooked perfectly. Fresh Poke is always a good choice. Highly recommend this place for something different than the usual burger. I come here pretty regular but always forget to post cause I don't want to be interrupted while eating and then I need a nap to digest all that big portion. Don't forget to buy some of their sauces so you can make your meals tastier. I bought a large Ahi from my fish guy and marinated it in the teriyaki sauce then rolled in fresh cracked pepper (the mixed kind in the grinder bottle and Old Bay, Seared it in butter on all sides lightly. I had a gift card so I decided to try it out. The service was good, parking was easy, and I like the big booths that seat a lot of people. The room just kinda felt dark and enclosed, probably because the windows were all covered. The poke is good, though it seemed a bit overpriced. Even if the fish was good, I couldn't forget the rice. It was like it wasn't washed well or something. That just left a bad taste in my mouth. Need good rice with good poke! Maybe it was just that day or that batch of rice. We went to fresh catch on christmas eve for some fresh poke for lunch and found it a bit disappointing. We got the ahi, salmon poke and squid. Due to the christmas holiday they werent serving rice but advised us to go to the chinese restaurant next door for rice. A little inconvenient and personally didnt see why they wouldnt make rice given they had about five staff members just standing around but it wasnt too difficult to grab rice at the chinese place next door. We stopped by a bay on the road up to waihee and ate by the beautiful view. I found the salmon poke to be too sweet. The flavoring masked the taste of the fish and while the sweet flavoring was yummy i would have preferred to taste the freshness of the fish. Dont get the squid. The squid was tough and fishy. Ahi was okay. Overall i wouldnt list fresh catch as one of the top poke places in hawaii. read more

i came here yesterday to get some lunch and at first i couldnt decide because they have so many options to choose from. But i ended up going with the furikake salmon and quarter pound of spicy ahi poke. The spicy ahi was perfectly spicy and the cubes are nicely cut (pretty big not slimy). The furikake salmon was cooked to perfection with a decent amount of mayonaise and furikake on it, i will definetly be coming back again. read more

Delicious seared ahi and smoke meat, and good portions! Staff is friendly and the location is quaint and is dressed like a 40s diner/fish market. The prices are reasonable and their hours are flexible. Wish they were open a little bit later. They also sell cases of beer to go if you're in need and don't want to make another inconvenient stop.
