Every time I've been in, their customer service has been AWFUL. I've never once been greeted with a smile. After an intense day of hiking at Lassen Park, we were thoroughly hungry...We found the Fresh Fire Grill on yelp, right on our way back on route 44 and were so glad! This small, almost out of the way establishment is worth any effort. Healthy and delicious at the same time! It's a combination you'd expect at Palo Alto, not Palo Cedro :) The wings are cooked to perfection with the meat falling off the bones. We enjoyed the kale salad with tofu add on which was fresh, airy yet filling. The Korean beef was tangy and came with a cold delicious cucumbers salad. My wife and I tried Fresh Fire (Palo Cedro), in December of 2017 and ever since we have not stopped, never been disappointed and always feel appreciated. Particularly the day staff are amazing! My favorite restaurant in Redding, CA!! I had the korean bbq, and I was shocked at how good it was. If you're a foodie and have lived in large cities (NYC, Chicago, etc) and move to a small town, you start giving up hope that there are good ethnic restaurants to explore. As I was losing hope, I checked out Fresh Fire, and I was blown away by how tender the meat was and how the marinade wasn't overdone (which a lot of restaurants tend to do). There were two side salads that came with the meal and one of them was so good, I have to go back for more. The owner was friendly and down to earth. The Korean BBQ is the real deal. Finally, after driving past this place for months with a curious glance toward the sign with its intriguing name, I decided to check it out, and I'm glad I did! I ordered one of the fire bowls; "fire," I learned, does not mean spicy, it is just a name, though they do have a spicy sauce they add on request. The portion was huge, definitely two dinners worth, and it lived up to the "fresh" in its name. The only complaint I have is that there was a lot of rice compared to the other stuff, and at least some of it seemed to be unseasoned, so after eating for a while I eventually reached the bottom of the rice pile and it was kind of eh. I think it needed more coleslaw and less rice, or more sauce on the rice at least. But other than that, the food was great, and the staff was very friendly. Plus, everything looked super clean, and I loved that the kitchen is like BOOM! right there in front of you, rather than behind a shady curtain where you have no idea what's going on. Anyway, I'll definitely be back, and the rice vs. coleslaw issue could probably be solved by just asking for what I want. They seemed very helpful and accommodating. This is my new favorite place to eat! The food is fresh, organic, healthy and somewhat light for "fast food." I appreciate that we have a healthy option like this, it makes all the difference when you are trying to count calories, get something quick without burning a hole in your wallet. This is why I feel some locals from Redding Area, I expect, may not have been around to make an accurate account, sorely expect different? If the food is great and has people coming back, I would not mind the seating. Look at "Pinks Hotdogs" in Hollywood on Fairfax, People line up around the block, including Stars and people picking up for stars too and they all are happy to get the world famous Pinks Hotdogs at 2.3 & 4 in the morning. One actor even had some flown in over seas to the set he was acting on! So Don't sweat the seating... Oh Please! I am from Orange County and have been to places in Newport Beach, L.A. & Hollywood. I worked at a major Hotels across from Anaheim Disneyland for hotel customer service, whereas I have packaged a list of only the best Steak houses, German, Italian, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, Cuban and French restaurant list for world international travelers and vacationers. Right off the bat I see the first word is FRESH which is very smart because people always want something which is new and in this case Fresh. On the menu, Healthy dishes with an Asian & BBQ theme is generally a popular choice plus they incorporate marriage of both... wonderful! My next stop is the Fresh Fire Grill, for sure. Updated Review: I have to yet again update this review as the owner actually addressed some of this with me. Talk about some super customer centric service! ;-) Lets start with the food. Still fantastic and I wouldn't change anything in my prior review! Good portions, so tasty, fresh and definitely healthy options. They even sell local Kombucha. You will NOT be disappointed! After coming here MULTIPLE times since they opened however, let me share some small details to know prior to coming. First, they are NOT open on the weekends. Save yourself the gas of driving out just to be disappointed. Unlike some other small mom and pops that close on Monday, this place is closed both Saturday and Sunday. Bummer, but I get it-might be slow in PC those days. Second, if its a holiday week, they could be closed. This should be on the recorder however and the owner explained they had issues previously. Call ahead! :-) Lastly, a small but a potential bother.. no substitutions of any kind. No option to pay a little more, upgrade a salad, etc. If you want something else you pay for the entire dish. Overall I LOVE the food and will absolutely continue to come back. I had the pleasure of trying a few more things on the menu today- again, delicious! Would be great to see his fire sauce bottled and sold. Yum! Oh and would still love to see an online ordering optiom for take-out.. GrubHub or something. The pulled pork sandwich was fresh and so delicious i will certainly be back to try every other item on the menu. I really wanted to like this place purely because they have organic and grass fed meat options, but overall I was so distracted by the lack of ambiance that it was disappointing. We were traveling through from out of town and saw the healthier food options here and wanted to try. The restaurant itself doesn't feel like much of a restaurant inside. You walk up to the counter to order and I felt like I was at a concession stand, but with much better ingredients. All the decorations/the kitchen that we could see into/the seating all seemed very half done, even the bathroom just felt like it was half clean, half messy. The place didn't feel dirty, it just felt unprofessional. However, the food was decent. Nothing amazing, but I could tell that the meat at least was pretty good quality. I appreciate that they are actively trying to bring a healthy restaurant option to an area without many restaurant options, but it fell way short in the ambiance category. read more

The wings were definitely a worthwhile appetizer and the fire bomb burger was amazing! The food is fusion style (Asian and American) and the flavors are on point! Loved this place! Had the chicken teriyaki bowl which was served with rice and the asian salad. The flavors were sweet but still a little tangy and nice and hot. Bonus points for being an organic place and the fact they serve kombucha. It was quiet and the outdoor patio was very nice. I was a bit putoff by the prices(why i decided 4 of 5 stars) as 2 meals with no drinks came to about 20$ but given the flavor and service was worth it. Staff was friendly and as we were leaving recognized and engaged a normal customer which i thought was nice. I cannot wait to go back and have the food again. read more
