A nice cozy and friendly little shop. Very comfortable, and they serve one of my favorite coffees--Onda Origins. Nice selections of pastries that are baked at a central bakery offsite. Got coffee. Good atmosphere. Great staff.

    Vegan Breakfast Sandwich

I was super excited to find out that Fresh Flours had a vegan breakfast sandwich, so much so that I jolted out of the Astra hotel and walked over to Fresh Flours. What a cute neighborhood bakery/coffee shop. If I lived in the neighborhood, it would be my 'Cheers' location and Im sure the owner would say, 'Morning Charles!' as I entered the door. Since I was new, I waited for the owner to finish talking with one of his regulars - #lifegoals, and then asked to have the vegan breakfast sandwich. He directed me to pull it out of the fridge so he could warm it up for me. We talked about my watch, and it was all genuine. Not long later, my sandwich was ready, and it was hot as I picked it up. I was giddy to have a vegan breakfast for less than 8 bucks in Seattle, but my happiness turned into disappointment when I bit halfway into my sandwich to discover it was still cold inside. Bummer - I didn't say anything even though I could have, and I know he would have made it right. I just wanted to finish my sandwich and get back to the hotel to meet my colleague before going to the Amazon offices. I would definitely come back and still get the vegan breakfast sandwich, but I would ask to add another minute or two to ensure it was reheated all the way through the middle. P.S. The croissants and the pastries LOOKED Deli Deli Delicious.

It's a cute coffee shop, low key, quaint and only a couple blocks from Denny park. My friend and I tried the seasonal drinks.. the orange zesty mocha was both of our fav, yummy and had a good notes of the orange zest. The peppermint latte was decent but I could barely taste the peppermint. They have a huge list to choose from their bakery options. We got an almond croissant and basque, both were solid. The best part was the staff.. super friendly and patient while we kept changing our order. I'd give a generous 4 stars!

CAN I GIVE THIS SIX STARS? For the cowboy sandwich. We dropped by for breakfast since it was close to our hotel in SLU. What a surprise it was! Atmosphere: nontouristy. Laid back. Relaxing. Service: excellent. Kind and professional staff Food: exceeded all expectations Items we ordered: -London fog- delicious earl grey tea with a milk foam. -mocha- made with great coffee and quality chocolate -kouign amann- very airy -pain au chocolat- quality chocolate and very airy *****cowboy sandwich- OUT OF THIS WORLD. This is a prepackaged breakfast sandwich from the fridge section, made by "Molly's". They heated it up for us. From the initial sight of it, bread looks more artisanal but the rest of it looks typical. We bit into the lightest airiest brioche bun by far. It was almost like a cloud bread, with very fine air pockets, even finer than angel food cake. The sausage and egg tasted very home made, very lightly seasoned, refined. I would come back here just for this sandwich and the drinks to go with it. Just. Wow. Whoever Molly is-- please keep making this !

My go to for many years now. Thanks Keith and Serena for the amazing drinks as always and treating us so well. Lately ive been grabbing their tosti's and it really quenches my morning / early afternoon hunger especially after being toasted. Their coffee and matcha will always taste good. I appreciate that they also decorate based on holidays. I'm loving the halloween decor at the moment.

Great place to get pastries! My favorite was the Matcha muffin which had a red bean inside, which was so amazing. The matcha cookie was OK as well as the Matcha latte. Their specialty coffees look pretty good! I would come back.

My friend and I stopped by Fresh Flours for a breakfast pastry this past Thursday morning after a run around Lake Union. The spot is more of a "grab and go" since there's not a lot of tables (only window/bar seating, which were taken up by other customers already). However, they have a few tables outside, and the breezy morning was the perfect time to enjoy our food outdoors. HAM & CHEESE CROISSANT - 5.75 Warmed up ham and cheese croissant was perfect. The croissant was flaky and buttery. The ham was warm with perfectly melted cheese. This was a tasty sandwich and definitely a good "go-to" in the area if you're looking for a quick breakfast/snack while on the go.

It's honestly not bad. I am particularly impressed by the matcha muffin. The matcha is very present with just enough red bean paste. The almond croissant is alright. I think it would taste better if I heat it up. I will comeback if I ever pass by the neighborhood again. As for the americano, I just don't have a lot of memories. People here complaint about service. C'mon, it's Seattle. You think people just greet you with a big smile? Inside is very cozy as well. It's really a cozy spot for a rainy day.

This place is nice, a good spot for a grab and go. Only one table but they have window seating. Workers were nice. The pastries displayed looked cute. The food and coffee was fine, above mediocre. If you're in a bind then def a good spot but wouldn't go out of my way to try. Mocha - 7.5, solid London Fog - 7, solid Ham and Cheese croissant - 8, good but wished the cheese was more melty. We heated it up and ate it there and the inside was still cold Peach danish - 6.5 - wouldn't recommend getting

I love this shop! Visited last year and couldn't wait to go back this trip & was not disappointed. Today was 3rd visit this trip and the lattes are hot, smooth with just right flavor! The staff is kind, efficient and welcoming and the pastries are out of this world consistently good!!!! So far this trip I have enjoyed lavender latte, violet latte with cold foam, vanilla latte & a hot honey lavender latte... all delicious!!!

I'm ready to bring Fresh Flours their flowers for providing richly crafted coffee drinks and enriching pastries all in the small cafe setting where the activity is high and the buzz is good. The most blooming flowers must go to owners and spouses Keiji Koh and Etsuko Minematsu who turned their baking dreams into a mini empire of Asian infused sweet treats and deluxe craft coffees with four locations and counting. Located on 8th Avenue North on the ground floor of the 8 + Republican Apartments in the up and coming South Lake Union neighborhood, what makes Fresh Flours stand out among the plethora of coffee shops in the Emerald City is that they are equal parts bakery and coffee shop. It was this distinction that led me to take a few block walk from my hotel across the street from the nearby Denny Park, what drew me to Fresh Flours was the fact that they served fresh pastries both sweet and savory and I knew this because I typed in coffee shop in my trusty Yelp app as I was walking around, and my fellow Yelpers made sure to post a number of their baked goodies and I was sold by the images alone. When I entered their darkened cafe space, there was no one in line, so decisions had to be made rather fast. Instead I took my time and when I turned around there was a line of people behind me. This gave me a little more time to decide what beverage I wanted to order, and what pastries that I planned to order. The regular beverage menu is pretty straightforward at Fresh Flours as they have your traditional coffee drinks including drip, espresso and cappuccinos among others. I wasn't expecting them to have a Drink Special menu featuring four coffee drinks with some truly unique flavor combinations. Although I could have chosen from one of their options such as Honey Pistachio Latte or their Blue Moon Latte with Lavender and Blueberry, there was something about their Creamsicle Latte that was calling my name, and when it was my turn to order their barista suggested that I get this coffee drink over ice, of which I had some hesitations, but I obliged. Although they had some luscious looking pastries from the shiniest danishes, hearty croissants, and the largest kouign amann that I have ever seen, there was something about their Sausage Mushroom Pithivier that I instantly knew it was going to be good, so I ordered that and a Double Chocolate Cookie for my sweet treat. My total bill was $14.82 before gratuity was added in, which was actually reasonable considering how many items I ordered this initial visit. Thankfully they have the option of heating up my savory pastry, of which it took less than a minute, and it wouldn't take too long for my beverage to be ready for pickup at their counter area. I was able to take some time and sit there and enjoy what I just ordered, which was a nice change of pace especially since their WiFi signal was easily accessible and strong. I have to be honest the coffee drink wasn't my favorite, as there were too many flavors competing with one another and it didn't help that the entire coffee had an overabundance of ice cubes in it. What was the real star of my meal were their baked goods as my pithivier was one of the most savory, heartiest small meals that I have enjoyed in quite some time. The chocolate cookie was more of a crinkle cookie thanks to the abundance of powdered sugar, which in turn got over everything as I would take that back to my room, but it too was a delicious delight. I cannot wait to come back to Fresh Flours and try more of their pastries as they all looked so decadent and delectable. And all priced at no more than six dollars, then when combined with a traditional coffee, your day is set! It's time to take in the fresh scent of flowers when visiting Fresh Flours!

Food - the bakery is really tasty. We tried a matcha muffin and blueberry muffin as well as the ham and cheese and the regular croissant. Very flakey croissants! The muffins were very good too - so good my partner ate his before I could try a bite of his. For drinks we got the matcha and the mocha. The sizing is really solid here as are the portion sizes. I think the bakery was fresh and delicious and the drinks were also good. Service - very kind and attentive. They were constantly sweeping up and wiping down as folks were coming and going (those croissants are flakey!) and were very friendly. They also have a small dog treats bowl too! Ambiance - it's a small and cozy little spot tucked into the side of the first floor of an apartment complex. There's both indoor and outdoors but the patio is quite small. I think they might have more seating across the walkway when it's warmer? They are dog friendly but we sat outside at the one patio table with our pups because it was a bit busy and crowded inside. There were quick in and outs, families, couples, solos, pups, babies, and lurkers with laptops so this cafe seems to serve a diverse crowd. Very cozy for lingering but also very efficient for a grab and go too. Overall - would definitely come back and try more bakery or some other drinks. The matcha was nice but I want to try their lattes too.

The croissant was on the crispier side, especially with the almond crumble on top it was a bit too cripsy for me, but I tend to like soft and flakey pastries so it's probably a matter of taste. There was a TON of almond filling in the middle. I enjoyed the taste and texture but it was too much filling for me personally. I would have liked more croissant in my croissant, so to say haha. The chocolate was slightly dark which worked well with the sweet pastry and filling! Overall I enjoyed the croissant but it was a tad too heavy on the filling and cripsy/crunchy for me.

They have so many yummy options, but I settled on a mushroom and Gruyère pastry and an earl grey blueberry cruffin. The mushroom and Gruyère pastry was SO good!!! We ate it the day after and threw it in the air fryer for a couple of minutes, and it was so delicious. The cruffin was huge! Topped with a delicious light Earl grey cream that wasn't too sweet. Through several visits: Baguette, Large ($7.95) - Great baguette with bubbling golden exterior complete with the perfectly baked crust even after waiting 3 hours before cutting in and eating. The interior has the perfect moisture level and is delightfully soft and chewy. The taste overall has a deep developed flavor. This is a great baguette. The only problem - the price. I can find ones for half the price that are maybe 80% as good as this one. (5/5) Seasonal Biscuit ($4.50) - This biscuit definitely isn't Southern-style. It's more of a drop biscuit, combining a relatively soft and tender interior with a nice exterior crust, without any flakiness or layering. The interior is almost cake-like in texture and crumb, and is plenty moist. They add plenty of fresh black pepper inside. It's distributed very evenly, giving a peppery bite with every mouthful. Parmesan is added to the top of the biscuit before baking, giving plenty of umami and richness but only on the upper layer. (4/5) Green Vinaigrette Cafeteria Style Pizza ($6.25) - The pizza is kept under a warming lamp, so it starts getting a little dried out after I assume a couple of hours spent there. I do love the base though - it's focaccia-like giving a really crunchy dark golden brown crust underneath, which supports the toppings. The pizza slice has lots of structural integrity and doesn't flop over. There's a base of fragrant concentrated tomato paste-like flavor which is topped with a very even layer of cheese. Since it's warmed rather than freshly baked, the cheese starts congealing a bit. The cheese is peppered with parsley, garlic, and a bunch of mustard seeds, giving a special zing. The toppings go all the way to the sides of the pie, making it great for people who dislike crust. Even though it's cafeteria style pizza that's kept under heat lamps, I quite liked it. I wonder if I can get a really fresh slice if I get there right at 11AM when lunch starts. (5/5) Chocolate Croissant ($6.10) - Great lamination with a very aesthetic honeycomb pattern. Baked on the harder side, causing fantastic crispy flaky layers to flake off, but also creating a darker golden brown character that is on the verge of bitterness. Nicely buttery soft and chewy interior. Chocolate is a darker variety, probably somewhere around 70%, so it has a pleasing balanced sweetness and chocolate flavor. It's not typical baton, instead seems to be a section from a bar. Still warm and melty even through I didn't eat the croissant until ~30 minutes after purchasing. When cooled down further, some red fruity notes start appearing, so this seems to be be pretty high quality. (5/5) White Sourdough ($12.60) - Now this is a loaf of bread. Superb crust, probably 2 or 3 times as thick compared to competitors, creating a supreme crusty bite with a chew approaching a hard crunch with almost caramelized molasses notes on the bottom. The interior is moist and tender with a pleasing slight sourdough tang. It's a superb piece of craftsmanship. (5/5) Kouign Amann ($5.80) - This is another heavier bake with some acridity development on the top surface. Unlike many other bakeries where the kouign amann is basically a differently shaped croissant with sugar glaze, Sea Wolf's version feels more in line with tradition. The crumb is denser and richer, more like brioche. There's interesting black speckling inside which I believe is due to the inclusion of espresso powder given the mild coffee-like flavor. The crust is again baked hard, but it's lighter and not as flaky as the croissant. They sprinkle just a bit of salt on top of a very light caramelized sugar glaze. It's not very sweet and I didn't find it too salty unlike some other reviewers. (5/5) Plain Focaccia Slice ($4.80) - Good quality olive oil, some salt sprinkled on top to boost the flavors. Light and airy interior, but the exterior is a little wan, being more light golden brown and lacking some good crusty crisp especially on the fried bottom. Quite oily. (4/5) Sea Wolf gives out free sourdough starter, which can be requested from the cashier. Since picking it up several weeks ago, I've gone through several feed/bake cycles for making sourdough focaccia. I've visited Sea Wolf 3 or 4 times in the last month. That's a testament to how high quality their pastries and breads are. I think the only thing stopping me from visiting more is thanks to the starter I got from them fanning my baking instincts. I bake so much now that I don't have any need to buy their bread! Note: Sea Wolf charges a 3% credit card fee. This is not noted on their menu - it only appears in the POS right before paying. Kind of sketchy. Bathrooms - Single unisex room

I will note that I haven't tried the breads, but as a non-morning individual, I do appreciate that they do tend to still have many items available even later in the afternoon (~1-3PM time frame). You will have to find street parking, but I've never had too much trouble in this neighborhood even on the weekend. Butter Croissant (3.75/5): I'll admit I'm insanely picky with my croissants and I think Sea Wolf's is just okay. I want a stronger crisp on the outside, something that almost shatters and makes a mess when you bite in, but the inside has a nice chew. Kouign Amann (3.75/5): I had a really fantastic time with this my first time picking it up, they have almost a crunchy sugar caramel crust on the outside with super buttery pastry inside. Unfortunately, my second time picking this up ended up being a miss, just stale and much to dry. Cinnamon Roll (1/5): The raisins are a nice touch, but this was awfully dry. Even the caramelized crus on the outside couldn't save this and charging extra for cream cheese frosting on top of a dry dough is criminal.

The shop itself is very small since it's basically a window shop, either renting space from or connected to Tamari Bar. It's more like a little dessert stand located on the restaurant's patio area, with only a few outdoor tables available. The soft serve was okay, but not as creamy as I was hoping for, and it melted pretty quickly. If you decide to add a syrup flavor, I'd recommend asking for only a small amount. Mine came absolutely drowning in syrup, and honestly, the flavor tasted pretty artificial and overpowering.

They also have mochi donuts and other pastries but I fell in love with the cinnamon rolls. Inside has plenty of seating and the staff is friendly. Prices are standard. Wish I lived closer!

Instead, it turned into a masterclass in how to make customers feel completely unwelcome. The sticker shock started immediately. Six donuts cost $25. Expensive? Absolutely. But I was willing to pay premium prices if the experience matched. It didn't. My daughter politely asked if she could order a ham and cheese croissant. The cashier's response? "Well, we have no croissants available... so... no." Not "I'm sorry, we're sold out." Not even a hint of courtesy. Just a cold, dismissive response to an 11-year-old. Then I asked whether they made specialty coffee because my daughter wanted a latte. The response: "We have an espresso machine." Thanks, but that wasn't the question. It felt like every interaction was treated as an inconvenience. After we finally finished ordering, we waited nearly 20 minutes for what should have been a straightforward order. Meanwhile, our coffees sat getting colder by the minute while nobody seemed remotely concerned. Then the food arrived... except one breakfast sandwich was missing. This was somehow the most frustrating part. Instead of a simple apology or, "We'll get that right out," the cashier immediately became defensive, pulled up the order screen as if I were the one making a mistake, and said, "I could charge you for the fourth one if you want." No apology. No ownership. No attempt to recover the situation. Just more attitude. It's remarkable how quickly rude, indifferent service can sour what should have been a pleasant breakfast. The food might be good, but it's hard to appreciate it when you're made to feel like your business is a burden. For a place happy to charge premium prices - including a jaw-dropping $58 coconut cream pie - you'd expect at least a basic level of professionalism and hospitality. Instead, the overwhelming impression was arrogance: the assumption that people will keep coming no matter how poorly they're treated. Seattle has too many outstanding bakeries staffed by people who actually appreciate their customers to waste your time or money here. This place has earned exactly one visit from me, and that's one too many.

I ordered a 16oz iced oat milk mocha and loved how perfectly the chocolate was incorporated into my drink! It tasted sweet and the coffee added the robust flavour I love in my mochas My boyfriend had never tried a Moroccan Fog before and he loved how sweet it was without him having to add sugar. He especially loved that it had just the right amount of mint flavoring without being toothpaste For breakfast, I ordered their fruit danish! I love that they had different options of fruit to pick from and I chose blueberry! The pastry was perfectly flaky and I loved how fresh the blueberry tasted. My boyfriend ordered the chocolate croissant because he was excited at the idea of the chocolate being piped through the croissant and also drizzled over the top, but it turns out the dark brown parts on top are just design and not more chocolate. Still, he was pleased with the amount of chocolate in the croissant and the bite I had was heavenly. The champagne cake caught my eye as I was ordering and I just had to try a bite, it was absolutely delicious and fresh. I loved how light the cake was and the layers of flavour through the whole dessert! I love how bright and airy the cafe is! My boyfriend and I were easily able to find seating by the windows and enjoyed the gorgeous view of the space needle and people watching as we shared breakfast. The staff here was also patient and welcoming. We'll definitely have to come back and try more of their pastries!!

Coffee is good but not a wow. Food like the croissants seems to be not fresh. They did not have the look of freshly baked considering it was around 9am. Not sure but did not have the glow or lopk when I see a pastry. Nice place though. Lots of tables and space. They were busy.

All the pastries except for the regular butter croissant were available, and we were able to place an order for the kimchi focaccia and sakura swiss roll, which were slated to come out around 10am. Service was super friendly! I got the hojicha latte, the okonomiyaki frittata, black sesame cookie, kimchi focaccia, and sakura swiss roll. The hojicha latte was rich and earthy in the best way, and it went really well with the black sesame cookie, which had a great strong sesame flavor, and the texture was perfectly chewy! The focaccia was pillowy and chewy at the same - I could've eaten five of these on their own. The frittata was my least favorite item, but by no means am I saying that it's bad! I thought the sauces overpowered it a bit, and the frittata itself was a bit bland - I couldn't even tell it had sweet potato in it, but it was cooked really well. There was ample seating in the heated patio, but parking was a little confusing, though we got lucky with the small lot right next to the store. There were a lot of signs that said no parking along the street in front, but it seemed like a lot of cars were parked there?

We ordered the Fried Egg Sandwich with bacon, Saint Cheeseburger, and Seasoned Fries with Miso Ranch. The Fried Egg Sandwich and Saint Cheeseburger were on the same buns, which were soft, buttery, and delicious. However, the ratio of patty-to-bun for the cheeseburger felt a bit off (way more bun than patty), and if we were to get it again, we would definitely order it with an extra patty. The fries were solid, but the Miso Ranch unfortunately did not have a prominent miso flavor, and instead was very dill-heavy. All around, we enjoyed our visit and would for sure come back to try their baked goods.
